FIGHTING type Veteran: AmourPearlShipper Your FIGHTING type Pokemon partner: Terrakion Reason for joining the Dojo (Club): well... I like Fighting-types lol Answers to some current topics: 2. What was your first FIGHTING type Pokemon? Explain. Mankey on Route 23 in FRLG, it was my first playthrough and I had bulbasaur at Lv12 or something as well as a Spearow and a Pidgey, and I caught it because I thought it looks cool. 4. What's your favorite FIGHTING type move? Why? Close Combat. Strong move with almost no risks, and even mons such as Arcanine and Staraptor get it. 5. Which generation had the best FIGHTING type Pokemon? Why? Gen 5. Keldeo, Terrakion, Conkeldurr, Emboar, Virizion and Cobalion. Do I even need to explain? as for machamp: 1. Have you ever used it competitively or in-game? Yeah, competitively. 2. What do you think of the overall design of Machamp? pretty decent 3. How is Machamp different from other FIGHTING type Pokemon? It has a 100% accurate move in DynamicPunch thanks to No Guard as well as a decent special defense stat. It also has Bullet Punch and Heavy Slam, to 2HKO some fairies. 4. What were your thoughts when you first discovered it? I don't remember. 5. What's the best move it has? DynamicPunch, lol. |

Hey there, AmourPearlShipper! Thanks for joining the club! I'll add you to the member's list now. Also interesting that you chose the four musketeer Pokemon as some of the best fighting types. They together are the most FIGHTING type legendary Pokemon introduced in one generation. I also find it interesting your first fighting type was a Mankey, since that was Ash's first FIGHTING type Pokemon in the anime. Did you train it and evolve it into a Primeape during your journey? Also posting a filled out sign-up form of my own just for reference: Username: VillageofDragons Your FIGHTING type nickname (Choose one of the following: FIGHTING type Senpai, FIGHTING type Student, FIGHTING type Master, FIGHTING type Veteran, or FIGHTING type Sensei): FIGHTING type Senpai Your FIGHTING type Pokemon partner (You can choose only one): Gallade/Mega Gallade Reason for joining the Dojo (Club): I am the founder and leader of it, lol Answer to any one of the current topics: See below 1. What made you love FIGHTING type Pokemon? I absolutely adore how strong FIGHTING type Pokemon are. They have wide ranges of movepools, and half of them can even learn Rock type moves too which can counter their Flying type weaknesses. They also learn many powerful attack moves such as Close Combat, and Dynamic Punch 2. What was your first FIGHTING type Pokemon? Explain. My first FIGHTING type Pokemon was Infernape on Pokemon Diamond. Pokemon Diamond was the first game I played Pokemon-wise, and my starter I chose was Chimchar. I raised it along with other Pokemon all the way to level 100, and I still have my Infernape to this day. 3. Who is your favorite FIGHTING type Pokemon user? It's got to be Marshal of the Elite Four in Unova. He's just so strong and he's the direct pupil of Alder so he trains right under the champion. Marshal has a nice variety of FIGHTING type Pokemon that are able to land big hits on your Pokemon if you're not careful 4. What's your favorite FIGHTING type move? Why? My favorite FIGHTING type move has got to be Close Combat. It's an essential FIGHTING type move for Pokemon to learn if they can, and can be used several times before its power starts to weaken. 5. Which generation had the best FIGHTING type Pokemon? Why? IMO the generation had the best FIGHTING type Pokemon was generation 4. This generation introduced Lucario AND Gallade, some of the strongest FIGHTING type Pokemon you'll find, and they even have their own mega evolutions now, 2 generations later. 6. What's your opinion on the four FIGHTING type Starters (Final forms) we have? (Blaziken, Infernape, Emboar, and Chestnaught) Which one is your favorite and why? I think they are all unique in their own way, except for Emboar which seems like a Fire/Fighting type combination done on too many times. Chestnaught is a nice change though because it's Grass/Fighting. I like Blaziken cause it has an awesome mega evoltuion and appears in the anime several times under a trainer named Blaziken mask. Infernape I will always have a biased likable opinion for since it was my first Pokemon (Well Chimchar was, but you get the point). Blaziken also does well with its speed boost ability, and Infernape's stats are pretty good and well rounded. Now for the Machamp questions 1. Have you ever used it competitively or in-game? I've used it in-game once I think for awhile, but never competitively. 2. What do you think of the overall design of Machamp? I think it's awesome! Especially how it walks on two feet, and has four arms to punch with. That's a lot of fast, blinding punches! 3. How is Machamp different from other FIGHTING type Pokemon? It's one of the only FIGHTING type Pokemon that is a biped, and has four arms as opposed to a different amount of limbs in different FIGHTING type Pokemon. 4. What were your thoughts when you first discovered it? I thought it was awesome. It's an exceptionally strong Pokemon with a nice movepool that is still used competitively to this day. The only downside is that you need to have more than one video game system to trade your Machoke to the other and back so that it evolves into Machamp. 5. What's the best move it has? Dynamic Punch, as stated above. Its ability allows it to make good work of this move. |

Bump! We need more members! The only way more conversation about FIGHTING type Pokemon is to be had, is by getting more members. Hiya! |
Yeah as far as I remember I did evolve my Mankey.

It is beaten by none in terms of quickness. It tosses its enemies around with agility. It uses all its limbs to fight in its own unique style. So here it is, the Fight for the right to Fight! Pokemon Dojo/Club POTW Entry #2, Infernape 1. Have you ever used it competitively or in-game? 2. What do you think of the overall design of Infernape? 3. How is Infernape different from other FIGHTING type Pokemon? 4. What were your thoughts when you first discovered it? 5. What's the best move it has? |
1. Have you ever used it competitively or in-game?
Yeah, both competitively and in-game. 2. What do you think of the overall design of Infernape? Really cool. 3. How is Infernape different from other FIGHTING type Pokemon? It's very versatile, with mixed 104/104 attacking stats (it hits harder than Mega Diancie when holding a Life Orb!) and a huge movepool which allows it to go defensive, mixed, physical (Swords Dance) or special (Nasty Plot) 4. What were your thoughts when you first discovered it? Just by looking at its design, I knew it was gonna be a good starter. 5. What's the best move it has? I'd say Flare Blitz. |
Quote:
That's 100 more points for you :) |
Yeah I feel like Mixed Infernape is quite underrated competitively because it hits fairly hard with a set of Fire Blast/Close Combat/Gunk Shot/HP Ice and is fairly fast, although it fails to reach 110 speed.
|
Quote:
Yeah, it's definitely underrated, but it's great to use. Also, I'm going to be editing this post soon with a new POTW! :) |
Don't think I've forgotten about this club! It's getting pretty quiet in here, so it's time for a new POTW! :)
~Fighting Type POTW~ http://i57.tinypic.com/2rdi6c4.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/2znn5sm.jpg Lucario, and Mega Lucario By catching the aura emanating from others, it can read their thoughts and movements. By reading the auras of all things it can tell how others are feeling from over half a mile away. So here it is, the Fight for the right to Fight! A Pokemon Dojo/Club POTW Entry #3, Lucario and Mega Lucario 1. Have you ever used it competitively or in game? 2. What do you think of the overall design of Lucario and Mega Lucario? 3. How is Lucario different from other FIGHTING type Pokemon? 4. What did you think about the arc it got in the Pokemon Anime under Pokemon Gym Leader Korrina's control? Did you watch the episodes based on her trying to master its mega evolution? 5. What's the best move it has? I look forward to the replies! :) |
It looks a little dead in here so it's time for a new topic!
The new topic is this: Make your own Fighting type move! (Totally not copied from AmourPearlShipper's thread :P) Format (Just enter the fields below, copy and paste it! : Name of move: Move type (Physical Attack, Special Attack, Status move): Move power (Make it reasonable lol): Short description of move: The winner with the made move I find most interesting will get 150 points right off the bat! :) |
*Machamp used Sky Uppercut to bump this thread to the top of the page!*
BUMP! :D |
Bump!
I'm not making a new POTW or any more topics till someone responds to one of the current ones. :) |
About Lucario:
I like its Swords Dance set competitively. With access to Close Combat and ExtremeSpeed, it makes for a fine late-game sweeper, due to its good attack stat which is enough for it to break walls at +2. Also, its mega is ridiculously powerful, due to Adaptability and 112 speed, and it got banned last year. Tbh, however, Lucario is kinda overrated... |

Thanks for replying to the POTW! Updating your total points now :) |
I'm giving a special thanks to Dedenne1 who took their valuable time to help make me a CSS background for this club's OP! Check it out and enjoy it people!
Thank you so much for putting the effort in to help me with this, Dedenne1. I really appreciate it. :) |
A good CSS template attracts new members and so you gain one, Senpai! {XD}
Username: Unapologetic Sunflower Your FIGHTING type nickname (Choose one of the following: FIGHTING type Senpai, FIGHTING type Student, FIGHTING type Master, FIGHTING type Veteran, or FIGHTING type Sensei): Student Your Fighting Type Club Campaign Partner (You can choose only one): Timburr Reason for joining the Dojo (Club): Fighting-type is actually a very popular type, at least according to the metagame tier. Currently Mega Lucario, Blaziken and its Mega Evolution stands firmly in the Uber tier. Notably Blaziken the first starter ever to do so. So who wouldn't want to join a club filled with strong and muscly Pokémon. Answer to any one of the current topics: 1. Have you ever used it competitively or in game? I have used a Lucario in my Diamond Team rerun for XY countdown. 2. What do you think of the overall design of Lucario and Mega Lucario? Back when Lucario was first reveal, it looks completely new -- as in something that is unique and never seen in the franchise, I thought it was a legendary Pokémon! Mega Lucario even brought this this to a higher level. It's a hella well designed Pokémon if you ask me. 3. How is Lucario different from other FIGHTING type Pokemon? It's has a design of a canine. {XD} Half-joking there. On a serious note, Lucario has the honor of first Steel-type and Fighting-type Pokémon, it was really unique at that time. It also learns Shadow Ball, Psychic and it's one of the Special-based offensive Fighting Pokémon, rather than heavily relying on Physical moves like the traditional Fighting Pokémon. 4. What did you think about the arc it got in the Pokemon Anime under Pokemon Gym Leader Korrina's control? Did you watch the episodes based on her trying to master its mega evolution? I haven't watched the anime for long. However, I recall Maylene, a Sinnoh-type Fighting Gym Leader, has Lucario as her signature Pokémon. It acts strictly/like a mentor to Maylene in the anime. 5. What's the best move it has? Aura Sphere. It's almost its signature move. It's handy for its perfect accuracy, as well as for its relatively high base power. Most notably Aura Sphere is one of the rare Special Fighting-type moves. |
who made that gorgeous css? well i may as well join now!
Username: Your FIGHTING type nickname: Veteran Your Fighting Type Club Campaign Partner: Riolu Reason for joining the Dojo (Club): I love fighting types although i dont always use them theyre very helpful against normal and rock types..especially chanseys. Answer to any one of the current topics: 1. Have you ever used it competitively or in game? Yep in game and competitively (: 2. What do you think of the overall design of Lucario and Mega Lucario? I like it im still alittle unsure of his megas design as it could be better but Lucario himself has an awesome design. 3. How is Lucario different from other FIGHTING type Pokemon? Well besides him being part steel he has a deep connection with Aura is showcased in a movie occasionally is known to use telepathy and is obviously very powerful. 4. What did you think about the arc it got in the Pokemon Anime under Pokemon Gym Leader Korrina's control? Did you watch the episodes based on her trying to master its mega evolution? Well i missed an episode obviously... 5. What's the best move it has? Honestly im disagreeing with US only cause ive used it competitively the best move you can use with him would be power up punch because his stats are most focused on physical attacks rather than Spatk and power up punch is a great asset with lucario in that way although there are multiple other physical moves that may better fit him depending on what set you want to run. :) |
Thanks so much for joining the club, Unapologetic Sunflower and Dedenne1! Adding you both to the OP now. I have to agree with both of you, both Aura Sphere AND Power Up Punch are the best moves Lucario knows physically and special attack wise.
Also, since more than enough people have responded to the POTW, I'll be updating a post soon and the OP with a new POTW as well as a new topic to discuss! Stay tuned! :) |

It's time for a new Pokemon Of The Week!
~Fighting type POTW~ http://i.imgur.com/hFSjg1A.png Hawlucha Although its body is small, its proficient fighting skills enable it to keep up with big bruisers like Machamp and Hariyama. With its wings, it controls its position in the air. It likes to attack from above, a maneuver that is difficult to defend against. So here it is, the Fight for the right to Fight! A Pokemon/Dojo Club POTW Entry #4, Hawlucha 1. Have you ever used it competitively or in game? 2. What do you think of the overall design of Hawlucha? 3. What do you think of Hawlucha's Fighting/Flying type combination and its signature move, Flying Press? 4. Were you surprised when Ash caught his own Hawlucha in the XY anime? 5. What do you think of its shiny form? Also, the new topic is..... Who is your favorite FIGHTING type gym leader in the Pokemon games, and why? I look forward to everyone's replies! :) |
Quote:
While not a watcher or fan of the anime, I read the updates and spoilers because of my curiosity! To be honest I was really surprised, since Ash has an another Flying-type already! And they even made it three with the introduction of Noibat. I love its shiny form a lot! I wish I had one! {XD} (not replying the new topic for now, so that I can help bump the club next time when I reply the topic.) |
1. Have you ever used it competitively or in game?
In game before as i obtained a shiny form and wanted to try it out :D 2. What do you think of the overall design of Hawlucha? Its pretty good they actually put some creativitity into it especially making it the first fighting and flying 3. What do you think of Hawlucha's Fighting/Flying type combination and its signature move, Flying Press? I think its cool and fitting for a pokemon of his status 4. Were you surprised when Ash caught his own Hawlucha in the XY anime? Nope i expected him to have a fighting type as he usually does and Hawlucha was the obv choice 5. What do you think of its shiny form? As someone who obtained and used it i love it the colors are pretty cool as well especially how its kinda the negative of the original colors of hawlucha :) |
Quote:
2. Pretty decent, after all it's the Wrestling Pokemon. 3. It's Flying/Fighting-type seems weird, but it means Hawlucha's not weak to rocks and can check Ice-types fairly effectively. Flying Press is a decent move to use in-game but useless competitively. 4. Hmmmm... not really. Perhaps a bit because it was Ash's second flying-type mon, but it seems like the writers can't take advantage of Talonflame being both Fire- and Flying-type, which would save one slot. 5. It's meh. |
So far my favorite Fighting-type Gym Leader would be Maylene. Since she broke the Fighting-type's stereotypes in so many ways: The first important female character to directly be associated with the type not to mention she has pink hair, which is special for a Fighting-type specialist. Her personality seems to be different than most of the Fighting-type users! :)
Brawly's my favorite among male Fighting-type Gym Leaders! |
Quote:
Thanks so much guys for all responding to the POTW! I plan on having a new one up soon. Also, I have to agree. Maylene was and is my favorite fighting-type major user to this day. Especially since I started Pokemon with Diamond. :) Updating everyone's points now! :) |

To be honest the designs of several Fighting-types has traditionally put me off on the whole but now there are some I'm rather fond of. Hopefully being part of this club will strengthen that and also teach me how best to utilise them in battle! Answer to any one of the current topics: What made you love FIGHTING type Pokemon? As above, but also the fact that Heracross is part Fighting-type and it's the only Bug-type to have that combination! The Mega Lucario story in the anime also turned me into a Lucario fan, I loved how he struggled to come to terms with and control his power! |
Who is your favorite Fighting type Elite Four member from the Pokemon games/anime, and why??
Marshal cause hes friends with the champion studied under him and Bruno is kinda boring in my eyes haha hes kinda like a shirtless dude who has nothing better to do but train his pokemon haha |

~Fighting Type POTW~ http://i.imgur.com/EnUBnDI.png Toxicroak It has a poison sac at its throat. When it croaks, the stored poison is churned for greater potency. Its knuckle claws secrete a toxin so vile that even a scratch could prove to be fatal. So here it is, the Fight for the right to Fight! A Pokemon Dojo/Club POTW Entry #5, Toxicroak 1. Have you ever used it competitively or in-game? 2. What do you think of the overall design of Toxicroak? 3. What is the best move it has? 4. What did you think when Brock caught his own Croagunk (pre-evolution of Toxicroak) in the Diamond and Pearl anime? Was it funny seeing Croagunk Poison Jab Brock and dragging him away repeatedly throughout the anime each time Brock tries to ask out a girl? 5. What do you think of its shiny form? I look forward to everyone's replies! :) |
Toxicroak
Have you ever used it competitively or in-game? I haven't used it competively but I have used it briefly in-game. I love amphibians and it's one of my fave Fighting-types so I want to give it a proper go in the future. I like that's it's got a unique typing. What do you think of the overall design of Toxicroak? I really like the design. It looks strong and as if it's ready for a fight as well as giving off a toxic vibe! The claws are cool! What is the best move it has? I don't know it's best move but the moves I like to use are Poison Jab and Drain Punch. Absolutely hilarious! One of the best running jokes for sure. They've tried to repeat it with other characters but it's just not the same! What do you think of its shiny form? It's very cool but not quite as an intimidating look than the normal colours. Kinda looks ready for a rave! |
Toxicroak
Have you ever used it competitively or in-game? I actually used a Croagunk who later evolved into a Toxicroak! ;) Additionally she gave birth to a Croagunk son, whose IV stats are for competitive! Needless to say, he was EV trained to be one! {XD} What do you think of the overall design of Toxicroak? I actually love the design of it, it really combines the element of Poison and Fighting-type perfectly. What is the best move it has? Poison Jab is one of those moves that is great, it's specially handy nowadays with Fairy-type available! I actually the Croagunk adorable and powerful. :) I wish it had more on screen time! I'm sure it's able to deliver a great Gym battle! I have no special thoughts on those moments he jab Brock. Though I wonder if it's going to do well under Ash's command and ownership? |
Quote:
I'd have to agree with you guys. Poison Jab is its signature best move IMO. :) Points updated! :) |

I suggest to talk about the ideas/opinions for future Fighting-type Pokémon, we can also further extend this to moves in the future! |

(Blaziken, Infernape, Emboar, and Chestnaught) Which one is your favorite and why? I think it's a good thing since good fighting types aren't as common as most other types and it's always nice having a fighting type early on in the game! I'd have to say my favourite has to be Infernape since I used one in my normal ORAS play-through and it owned Steven's Mega-Metagross even though he was 7 levels below Metagross! Plus, he's the Monkey King :P I'll answer the others too :D - What made you love FIGHTING type Pokemon? They almost always look pretty cool and all of them are super useful in any play-through! - What was your first FIGHTING type Pokemon? Explain. Hariyama. I used on in my Ruby game (which was the second game I ever played) and it was the first time I made a team based more on type than what I could find randomly. That being said, I did find Makuhita randomly and after a quick Google search, realised he was Fighting type and so I went ahead and caught him! I regret nothing, he was amazing! - Who is your favorite FIGHTING type Pokemon user? Brawly since he seems to be a pretty cool guy! I like Korrina too since she was a better challenge than Brawly was and she's on roller skates. Plus, she gives you a Mega Lucario so that's great! - What's your favorite FIGHTING type move? Why? Aura Sphere since it's special rather than physical, which is the norm with fighting type moves. It's a nice surprise for those physical walls xD - Which generation had the best FIGHTING type Pokemon? Why? The fourth with Pokemon like Lucario and Gallade, two of my favourite fighting types! It also introduced the move Close Combat and Aura Sphere, two of my favourite fighting type moves! Thanks for reading, Senpai, have an awesome day! |

Have you ever used it competitively or in-game? Yeah, plenty of times competitively, and once in-game. What do you think of the overall design of Toxicroak? It has one of the coolest designs of the 4th gen. What is the best move it has? Gunk Shot in my opinion. The move has 120 BP and hits so much stuff for some good damage. There's also Sucker Punch which can rape fast teams, especially if Toxicroak packs Swords Dance. Croagunk, imo, was one of the best things about the DP anime. I loved it when it Poison Jabbed Brock every time he tries to ask out girls. What do you think of its shiny form? Not a big fan of that. With that said, I reached 2000 posts. |
1. Have you ever used it competitively or in-game?
In game once idk why i never used it again it was quite powerful 2. What do you think of the overall design of Toxicroak? Nice although he could probably be a bit taller 3. What is the best move it has? Poison Jab because it goes nicely with its high Physical attack 4. Yes haha it was so wonderful nice replacement for misty in my opinion. 5. What do you think of its shiny form? Kinda looks a bit retro but the color differentiation is nice :) |
Thank you so much for replying guys! I'll be updating the thread with all your points and joining the Dojo too.... :)
Expect a new POTW to come out soon! :) |
Have you ever used it competitively or in-game?
Never since that 4x weakness to Psychic is crippling seeing as most competitive teams have a Pokemon that can use Psychic attacks. What do you think of the overall design of Toxicroak? I think he looks exactly as you' expect him to look if you thought of a fighting type Frog. If I could change anything, I'd make the bulbous thingy on his throat smaller but that's just a general disliking towards frogs >~< What is the best move it has? Definitely Poison Jab with that sweet STAB damage! Absolutely! It was something that always made me smile, even after the 50th time! One of the first things I thought of when Brock left the anime was that I wouldn't see anymore of Croagunk's Poison Jab Dx What do you think of its shiny form? I like it to some degree. I don't love it but it looks pretty cool! |
Thanks for posting!! Points updated! :)

I regret to inform you all that I am leaving all of Pokecommunity for good.... If one of you wants to take over as the OP of my Fighting type club, you have my permission.... I don't feel a need to be using PC anymore and on the topic of Pokemon Clubs the OP always messes up for me anyway, and I just don't have the time to use Pokecommunity... So, it is with great regret, that I resign as the founder of this here Fighting type club. I wish everyone who helped me have it be active the best of luck, Thank you for your support. :)

Oh no! That's sad to hear ;-; I hope someone picks up the club at least >~< You'll be severely missed :C

Ownership has been transferred to Sun .
|
Hmm... I've been to busy, so I couldn't decorate our main thread. But bear with me, I'll make it look good along Rock-type Club's, which is my top priority (vs our own club)
In the mean time here's a topic for us: Do we need a FIghting-type legendary in the future generations? Why? If so, what animal/object should it be based on? What's the story behind it? |
I was invited by Sun to join. So hi everyone, I am a huge fan of the fighting types of Pokemon and it is my favorite type of Pokemon. Fighting types became my favorite due to that they always really have helped me in each of my playthroughs, and I've also really liked their designs a lot. My favorite fighting type moves are Aura Sphere, Flying Press, Sky Uppercut, High Jump Kick, Close Combat, and Counter. My obvious favorite fighting type is Pancham, as well as it's evolution, Pangoro, but some of my other favorites include Lucario, Blaziken, Infernape, Hawlucha, Hitmonlee, Machoke and Chesnaught.
Do we need a FIghting-type legendary in the future generations? Why? If so, what animal/object should it be based on? What's the story behind it? I would personally like to see more Fighting type Legendary Pokemon in the future since there is only 4.5 Fighting legendaries, mostly because all the Fighting type legendaries are from Gen 5 and with the half exception of Meloetta, I would like to see a Fighting type legendary that isn't part of a group. I can't think of a story behind, or what animal or object it should be based after. EDIT: I forgot to add in my partner Pokemon, or in this case Pokemon team. I'll start with just Pancham. |
Quote:
Have you used a Fighting-type Pokemon from your very first Pokemon playthrough? If so which Pokemon was that and what game was that? Actually you will need me to prompt you for a partner Pokemon (in order to begin and carry a convo), but definitely zero harm has been done! {XD} I believe it's only you and I are active for the time being, but without any further ado we shall begin our first event ever! :D Our first ever event is called the Pokemon CLASH. Check the grand thread (aka main thread/first post) for details about CLASH, trust me it's not difficult and it's just a piece of cake! |

First I'm not going to count my playthroughs Red/Blue, Ruby, or Sapphire, because I never did properly play them. So on my first real playthrough, which was on White 2, I did use a fighting type, I actually ended up using 4, but 3 of them I used all the way up to the end of the game. The first one was a Riolu which later evolved into a Lucario. I always liked the design of Lucario since I first saw it in the Lucario and the Mystery of Mew movie, that I decided to spend the time at the beginning of White 2 capture a Riolu at Floccesy Ranch, and he ended up becoming one of my main helpers for the majority of the game, and it really made me love Lucario. The other 2 were Verizion and Terrakion, the Terrakion was my main helper during the fight against Iris as the Champion. The other Fighting type I used during that playthrough was Cobalion, but I replaced not long after I got Verizion. Ah okay. I didn't know X3, but I will keep that in mind. It is definitely fun from what I've seen and I will take part of it. :) |

Pokémon Clash #1 http://i.imgur.com/hxv2nOP.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/qDxNCzY.png?1 Pancham vs Riolu
|
1. How would you describe the personality of Pancham (as a whole specie, not certain individual kinds)? - I would describe Pancham as a species as playful and mischievous, since it is known as the Playful Pokemon and its Japanese name, Yancham, is a combination of Yancha and champion, and yancha meaning naughty. The way I see it, Pancham is mischievous in a playful way, meaning no actual harm to people and does it just for pure fun.
2. A Pancham evolves by at Level 32 if there's a Dark-type Pokemon in party, does this mean it turns bad upon evolving? Why/Why not? - Personally I'm going to say no. For two big reasons. For one, is that it retains its Fighting type. Dark is referred to Evil type in Japan, and Dark is weak to Fighting and the common interpretation is because Fighting type representing Good and Dark representing, surprise surprise, Evil. Combined I believe that it makes the Anti-Hero and it makes sense to me due to Pangoro's PokeDex entry in X and Omega Ruby, as it says "Although it possesses a violent temperament, it won’t put up with bullying. It uses the leaf in its mouth to sense the movements of its enemies.". The part that makes me believe that Pangoro isn't that bad is the part where it says "it won't put up with bullying", if Pangoro truly was bad, he would either do nothing against bullying or instigate bullying. Granted it is a violent Pokemon, but at least it shows that it is not entirely bad. 3. In which aspect Pancham is better than Riolu? And in which part worse than Riolu? - There are a lot of things that I think make both equally as good as each other. Starting with Pancham, one of the few things that I think makes Pancham a lot better is its personality. Unlike Riolu, Pancham has a pretty defined personality. By asking the question, what is a Riolu's personality like, you can't really say. All you know is that it is fighting type that can sense people's emotions and it uses Aura to communicate, but what is its personality. I mean, yeah, you got natures, but that's not really a lot to go on. Pancham on the other hand has a pretty clear personality. It's playful, its mischievous, and it can't resist grinning if someone pets it on the head, and it tries its best to look intimidating and scary, but can't because it looks too cute. Another thing is that Pancham, is one of only two Pokemon that levels up by having a certain Pokemon in the party, and is the only Pokemon that only evolves by leveling up with a certain type rather than a specific Pokemon, and I personally love that as it gives the Pokemon a bit more of a personality of its evolution as mentioned before. Plus there is its name, with it being a combination of Panda and Champion, and as mentioned before, Yancha and Champion in its Japanese name. As for Riolu, Riolu is a bit more of an interesting Pokemon seeing that it can learn people's emotions through aura. I think Riolu has a better design to it and stands out more than Pancham. One last aspect of Riolu that I think is also really cool and makes it stand out more is that it is also the only Fighting type Pokemon that can have the Prankster ability. 5. Why does Riolu evolves into a part Steel-type, instead of a Fighting and Psychic-type Pokemon? - My only guess is because #ThePokemonLogicIsReal. Which Pokemon should win the first CLASH? Don't be shy! Tell us why! Lol - Biases aside, I am going for Pancham and for multiple reasons. First, Pancham has a base stat advantage, having 348 base stat total over Riolu's 285, and having higher attack and defense. Second, Pancham can learn a higher variety of moves. By level up, they both learn a combination of Normal, Fighting, and Dark. Riolu can learn also learn Ground, Poison, Rock, Ghost, Fire, Steel, Dragon, Ice, Electric, and Psychic moves through TMs, Breeding, and Tutoring. Pancham on the other hand can learn Ground, Poison, Rock, Ghost, Fire, Steel, Dragon, Ice, Electric, Psychic, Grass, Water, and also Flying, giving Pancham a higher type coverage than Riolu. Third is its abilities. If a Riolu and a Pancham would be put into battle, the Pancham would probably more than likely win since it has the higher base stats, and it can also have Iron Fist as an ability, giving it an attack boost to punching moves, it would surely knock a Riolu pretty fast, and pitted against other Pokemon, Pancham would still win out. Besides the type coverage and higher base stats, its abilities would guarantee it to win. Yes, Riolu can have Prankster, but Pancham can also have Scrappy or Mold Breaker, allowing it to hit Ghost Pokemon with Normal and Fighting moves, or ignore other abilities which is a bit more useful than Prankster in a lot of ways if Pancham was by itself. |

Pokémon Clash #2 Timburr vs Machop
Oh and Mickey, tell me what Pokemon games do you have, so that I'll be to organize Pokemon Hunt soon. :) |
1. Are those lumber considered as Timburr's body parts? - I think of it like Jynx's dress, Kadabra's and Alakazam's spoons, Sawk's and Throh's clothes, and a Zoroark's hair bead, they just magically get one out of no where, not to mention Timburr always tosses that lumber around in his Gen 5 sprite.
2. What do you think about the design of Timburr? - I think it is adorrable (bad pun is still bad pun). Plain and simple as that X3. 3. In which aspect Timburr is better than Machop? And in which part worse than Machop? - Well Timburr imo is slightly cuter than Machop, but I do like the design of Machoke and Machamp more than Gurdurr and Conkeldurr. 4. What are those brown ridges on Machop's head? Are they some sort of secret weapon? - Maybe it's just a dull rocky helmet thing that supposed to give it some sort of protection. 5. Make a theory why the Machop line is able to use Flamethrower and Fire Blast. - Well since the Machop line do have reptilian design, I'm gonna say that were part Dragons and lost their Dragon typing. X3 Which Pokemon should win the CLASH? Don't be shy! Tell us why! Lol - This one is a bit tough for me to choose. While I personally like both of these Pokemon equally, I'm going to go for Machop since I personally find it a bit better at battling, plus it has No Guard. Quote:
|
Quote:
I say the lumber is considered as its body part, which is similar to Sawk's karate gi and Throh's judogi. :) I have to admit, those veins were rather scary and painful to look at. Kinda wanna hold that lumber for him, not kidding. The thing that makes the Timburr line better is its access to Mach Punch and the Ability Iron Fist. While the Machop line is great on having the No Guard Ability thus having a perfect accuracy Stone Edge, Dynamic Punch and Cross Chop. Those brown ridges might be some kinda hidden weapon? Like a saucer? >:) In all seriousness though, I believe they are protective gears. To be honest, I couldn't think a theory for this question , despite the fact I'm the one who created this question! However, I have to say I like Mickey's points a lot! In ORAS, the Machop line can learn the move Dual Chop as a level up move, which eerily supports his points. While 'chop' refers to karate skill, one shouldn't forget that Dual Chop is a Dragon-type move! Vote: Timburr Spoiler: Results

Pokémon Clash #3 Gallade vs Medicham
|
I'll just post what I posted in the Psychic club ^.^
Spoiler:
|
1. Gallade can only learn one Fighting-type move, does it make it less of a Fighting-type? Should it be paired with an other type, instead of Fighting-type? Why? - I honestly don't think so for 2 reasons. The first reason is because Gallade is not the only who does this, Combusken learns 3 Fighting type moves and only 2 of which do damage and Blaziken naturally only learns 1 Fighting type move passed Combusken, the same thing goes for Monferno and Infernape except that Monferno can learn only 2 and Infernape learns only 1 of them through level up passed Monferno. Croagunk and Pignite both only learn 1 and Toxicroak and Emboar can't learn any from level up passed their pre-evos, and Chesnaught only learns 2. Why should Gallade be considered less of a fighter than them? Second is that even though Gallade only learns one fighting type move, he also learns a few other moves that seem like something that a fighter would learn, like Psycho Cut, Fury Cutter, Slash, and False Swipe. So either way, I see him as much as a fighter than any other fighting type.
2. If it's possible to have a male Gardevoir why is it impossible for a female Gallade to exist? - I got 2 theories that may make it sound logical when combined. The first is the same as reason why there isn't a male Froslass, and what Gallade and Froslass have in common is that they both evolve by a Dawn Stone, so I have a theory that Dawn Stones, so my theory for this and for all future Pokemon who may end up getting an evolution through Dawn Stone is that Dawn Stones only work on specific genders depending on the Pokemon. The second one has to do their names. Gardevoir being a combination of either garde and devoir or garder and voir, garde and devoir being French for guard and duty while garder and voir are French for keep and see, while Gallade sounds close to Galahad which is the name of one of King Arthur's knights, so it sounds logical why Gallade is male exclusive, although I do have to question why Gardevoir's Japanese name is Sirnight. 3. Why is the Gallade line not part of Human-shape while the Medicham line is? - I'm going to guess you mean Human-like egg group because they are both in the same body shape group. In that case, I don't even know how to explain it since egg groups are weird. I mean Human-like group also has Sableye, Croagunk and Toxicroak, Hawlucha, Lucario, Pancham and Pangoro. I don't know about you, but they don't look Human like, I mean for gosh sakes, Hawlucha is a hawk, Croagunk is a toad, Lucario is a jackal, and Pancham and Pangoro are pandas. I don't see anything human like about them other than they both stand on 2 legs. 4. In which aspect Medicham is better than Gallade? And in which part worse than Gallade? - Well Medicham I think Medicham has way better egg moves it can learn, but I think it is worse when it comes to abilities as I think Gallade has better abilities even as a mega. 5. If Medicham is part of a three stages family, will it be stronger than or at least on par with Gallade? Why? - Possibly because if it did get a 3rd stage, it probably would get a lot of needed stat boosts to make it just as good as Gallade. 6. If Jynx was a stereotype for a race, how come Medicham and its Mega Evolution isn't a stereotype to the eastern culture? - I have to agree with Ketsu in that yoga is popular in western culture, maybe not as much as in eastern culture, but it is really popular in western culture. Which Pokemon should win the CLASH? Cast your votes! - I'm going to vote for Gallade |

Pokémon Clash #4 http://i.imgur.com/RUngpzQ.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/4KTgZrc.png Scrafty vs Pangoro
Which Pokemon should win the CLASH? Spoiler: Notifications
|
Entering!!!!
nickname: Absol!!! Starter: Tyrogue Fightint tipes they are very useful and i always lovedtheir moves, even if I don't like their speed they are a force to be reckoned and one of the most versatile pokes the fighting/dark unfortunately now have a x4 weakness against fairy but is good to counter both ghost and psychic with his side typing. What do you think about Scrafty's design? The Scrafty line is unique when compare to most of its Dark or Fighting-type peers, it is defensively tough while it has an above avarage physical attack stat. What's your thoughts on Scrafty breaking the mould? In which aspect Scrafty is better than Pangoro? And in which part worse than Pangoro? Why does Pancham evolves into a Pangoro with a Dark-type Pokemon in the party? Why not just simply evolves when it reached the level of 32? What makes Pangoro a Dark-type Pokemon except the obvious black color from its body? Pangoro's Pokedex entry says, 'It uses the leaf in its mouth to sense the movements of its enemies.' Make theory how does it sense the opponents' movements through the leaf. It has a bad desing I wish it was more orignal, it felt like a mohican scraggy Scrafty has betteer defenses but Pangoro have a decent Special Attack an a better atack so i'll go with Pangoro Maybe because it feels better having your pokemon evolving in a different way I loved the challenge that was evolving Feebas Maybe its leaf comes from some sacred tree or another thing that helps it sensing enemies. above Pangoro wins with better stats distribution and design |
What do you think about Scrafty's design? It's a unique type, just hopefully it doesn't become an overused typing like the Psychic/Fighting.Upon seeing it, it reminded me of an urban genre musician and I actually like it. (: The Scrafty line is unique when compare to most of its Dark or Fighting-type peers, it is defensively tough while it has an above avarage physical attack stat. What's your thoughts on Scrafty breaking the mould? It is a great thing. Diversity, uniqueness and changes are always good! In which aspect Scrafty is better than Pangoro? And in which part worse than Pangoro? I love Scrafty's coloration, it is unique for a Fighting and or Dark-type Pokemon. While design wise, I like Pangoro's more. So Scrafty's color is better imo, while Pangoro has a better design. Why does Pancham evolves into a Pangoro with a Dark-type Pokemon in the party? Why not just simply evolves when it reached the level of 32? What makes Pangoro a Dark-type Pokemon except the obvious black color from its body? Good Pokemon gone astray is what I wanna say, but no. Despite the grumpy temper of Pangoro, it is still a kind Pokemon in nature, according to one of its Pokedex entry. Honestly, I think it's the coloration and its temper that makes it a Dark-type. Pangoro's Pokedex entry says, 'It uses the leaf in its mouth to sense the movements of its enemies.' Make theory how does it sense the opponents' movements through the leaf. I say it detects the movement through its leaf, like the ripple thing from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure? What's your thoughts behind the Dark/Fighting dual typing? I vote for Scrafty. Quote:
|
1. What do you think about Scrafty's design? - I do think that Scrafty's design is pretty cool. In terms of all the Gen 5 Pokemon, it's not my favorite in design, nor is it my favorite design when it comes to other Fighting types, but I do think that it is pretty cool.
2. The Scrafty line is unique when compare to most of its Dark or Fighting-type peers, it is defensively tough while it has an above avarage physical attack stat. What's your thoughts on Scrafty breaking the mould? - Well I don't know what mould is so I can't say anything. But in terms of a Pokemon that breaks the mold with it being more defensive, I think that it helps Scrafty benefit from it since he is primarily weak to physical attacks from other Fighting types and Flying attacks, and with the introduction to Fairy and Scrafty being 4x weak to Fairy, it is good that he is specially defensive for them. 3. In which aspect Scrafty is better than Pangoro? And in which part worse than Pangoro? - Well as mentioned before it has better defenses than Pangoro, both physically and specially which does benefit it when it comes to surviving attacks. Where I think Pangoro does better is in 2 areas. First is its design, and I will admit, this is my own bias speaking. Second, is that with the combination of moves and stats, Pangoro is more of a heavy hitter than Scrafty. 4. Why does Pancham evolves into a Pangoro with a Dark-type Pokemon in the party? Why not just simply evolves when it reached the level of 32? What makes Pangoro a Dark-type Pokemon except the obvious black color from its body? - It's pretty much like a transition and bad influence. Since Dark type is referred to as Evil type in Japan, it's pretty much going from a cute Playful Pancham who can't be taken seriously because it's too cute and is not that intimidating and it's getting a bad influence from the Dark type and becoming more intimidating and violent. I can't think of a reason what makes Pangoro a Dark type other than that it has a violent temperament. 5. Pangoro's Pokedex entry says, 'It uses the leaf in its mouth to sense the movements of its enemies.' Make theory how does it sense the opponents' movements through the leaf. I would have to say that it has to be that with the leaf is that the slightest movement from enemy moves that causes some sort of wind disturbance, and Pangoro sense it. I honestly don't know X3. 6. What's your thoughts behind the Dark/Fighting dual typing? Well since Fighting and Dark are two favorite types, it is easy for me to say that a Fighting/Dark type is easily one of my favorite type combinations. Which Pokemon should win the CLASH? - Pangoro, easily |

Pokémon Clash #5 http://media.pldh.net/dreamworld/106.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/dreamworld/107.png Hitmonlee vs. Hitmonchan
I apologize to everyone for taking so long to do this. Personal life had changed drastically for the past month, so I am very sorry about taking long. Better late than never X3. Spoiler:

Quote:
I believe those were the global popular martial arts in the last century, that's why we have Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee. In that sense, they can be seen as drawn form of 'The 90s Culture and Trends'. Why is that Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan are both male exclusive Pokemon? I would love to say because Fighting-types were seen as exclusively masculine type, but then we have the Mankey and the Machop lines. But I speculate that's because martial arts were commonly practiced and/or even admired mostly by men back in the days, whereas it contrasts our diverse culture nowadays! (: In which aspect is Hitmonlee better than Hitmonchan? And in which part worse than Hitmonchan? Imo, Hitmonlee has a better Ability as it can make use of it. Moveset wise is a bit tricky, Hitmonchan's access to the tri punch is surely a good thing, particularly from Gen IV games and beyond, while Hitmonlee has access to crazy stronger moves like High Jump Kick, Jump Kick, Mega Kick and so on! Hitmonlee can have the ability Limber, which prevents paralysis, and Hitmonchan can have Inner Focus, which prevents it from being flinched . Why do you think these 2 abilities were chosen for these two Pokemon and do you think they fit for their perspective Pokemon? Limber easily refers to Hitmonlee's body and legs, which are very self-explanatory. While Hitmonchan's Inner Focus is similar to the real life boxers, as boxers need to be extremely focused on their opponent and the match itself. Naturally it fits these two Pokemon, the usability, however, is an another topic... In most of its Pokedex entries, it is often stated that Hitmonchan gets tired and rests after 3 minutes of fighting. Why do you think that is? I believe it has something to do with its heartbeat rate. I wouldn't be surprised if its heartbeat rate is directly connected to its punching, in a similar way how Spoink's bouncing is connected to its heartbeat. [Vote] Hitmonlee Mickey, upon seeing this, remember to simply make a post in this thread: 'This is the transfer post'. (Minus the quotations) I will notify Brendino about the transfer post after seeing that reply. Best of luck with taking over this club! |
Why do you think a kickboxer design was chosen for Hitmonlee and a boxer design for Hitmonchan?
kicks and punches are pretty much the basic of fighting Why is that Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan are both male exclusive Pokemon? maybe because fighting is viewed as a male activity even if in judo a girl kept kicking my ass In which aspect is Hitmonlee better than Hitmonchan? And in which part worse than Hitmonchan? Hitmonchan learns alll of the elemental punches and also drain punch but Hitmon lee learns blaxe kick hi jump kick mega kick and a lot of other moves. Hitmonlee can have the ability Limber, which prevents paralysis, and Hitmonchan can have Inner Focus, which prevents it from being flinched . Why do you think these 2 abilities were chosen for these two Pokemon and do you think they fit for their perspective Pokemon? Limber makes usthink about fast guys and most of the ones who kick are fast In most of its Pokedex entries, it is often stated that Hitmonchan gets tired and rests after 3 minutes of fighting. Why do you think that is? It is the time of a boxing round Winner is hitmonchan |

Why do you think a kickboxer design was chosen for Hitmonlee and a boxer design for Hitmonchan? - I really like and agree with both you on this one.
Why is that Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan are both male exclusive Pokemon? - I'm gonna say something similar to Sun. It is really hard to say especially given the Machamp line, however I'm gonna guess that it might be that kickboxing and boxing was more seen as a male sports, while females wrestling is more common than female kickboxing and boxing. Again, that is just a guess and I could be 100% wrong on that and that they were female kickboxers and boxers around just as long as female wrestlers. In which aspect is Hitmonlee better than Hitmonchan? And in which part worse than Hitmonchan? - I personally like the design of Hitmonlee more than Hitmonchan, it's a bit faster, and it's more attack than defense which I prefer more than defense. Hitmonchan on the other hand, since it has a higher defense, it has a better chance to survive flying, psychic, and fairy attacks. Hitmonlee can have the ability Limber, which prevents paralysis, and Hitmonchan can have Inner Focus, which prevents it from being flinched . Why do you think these 2 abilities were chosen for these two Pokemon and do you think they fit for their perspective Pokemon? - For Limber on Hitmonlee, I think it fits because limber means flexible as an adjective and stretch as a verb, which Hitmonlee is flexible especially given that he is a kickboxer and it has been mentioned from multiple Pokedex entries that it can stretch its legs. As for Inner Focus on Hitmonchan, it would have to be that boxers have to stay focus and not flinch during matches as flinching is a big weaknesses against boxing, although that is just speculation. In most of its Pokedex entries, it is often stated that Hitmonchan gets tired and rests after 3 minutes of fighting. Why do you think that is? - I'm gonna speculate again and say that it might because when you punch you throw more weight than you would kick. I could be really mistaken on this one as I really don't know. My vote will be Hitmonlee. RESULTS Spoiler:
I will be working on getting the next clash ready. I already got the next Pokemon chosen and it will be up by this weekend at the earliest or early next week at the latest. |

Pokémon Clash #6 http://media.pldh.net/dreamworld/257.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/dreamworld/392.png Blaziken vs. Infernape
|

What do you think of Blaziken's mega evolution, and do you think Infernape should get a mega evolution in the future? A Speed Boost Blaziken is already strong enough! If I recall correctly, Blaziken belongs to the Uber tier in Gen V, due to the said Ability. As for a Mega Infernape, it's always a welcome addition as long as it improves Infernape. In the Pokedex entries, it is mentioned a lot that when Blaziken fights a tough foe, flame emits from its wrists and grow in intensity the tougher the opponent. Why do you think Blaziken would have flames on its wrists when fighting a tough foe and do you think it symbolizes something? While I'm not sure what's the flame wrists for, I suspect it's because of its Blaze Abililty? Which is a standard Ability for a normal Blaziken. Or an another possibility it's a scare tactic, similar to the real life moths with bold and big eye patterns on their wings. In which aspect is Blaziken better than Infernape? And in which part worse than Infernape? At one time, Infernape was preferred for its higher Speed. That doesn't mean Blaziken was completely an inferior to Infernape; Blaziken actually hits harder, both Physical and Special. Additionally Blaziken is also able to act as a Baton Passer, according to what I studied about Blaziken back then. Nowadays, Blaziken has a great Hidden Ability and even a Mega Evolution. Do you think that Infernape is based off of Sun Wukong? It is, at least in my opinion. The design is very very similar to Sun Wukong's depiction from Journey to The West. Fun fact: Emboar is also based on a character from the said fiction as well. Infernape is unique when it comes to fighting type Pokemon, as it is the only Fighting type Pokemon to naturally learn Acrobatics. Why do you think that is? It is most likely based on the agile movements of apes, which is fitting. Being able to learn Acrobatics as one of the few Fire and Fighting types really sets it apart and gives it an advantage. (: Vote: Blaziken Btw the questions are really great and well thought. I can see the efforts behind it! I'm speaking as a member, hahaha! I really don't mind either way. (: But if we're going to share the database for the Chip amounts, we need a clear instruction on that. Because our clubs isn't only about us two! Consider... How are we going to arrange the points of those members who happened to be part of our clubs? Is it a different progress for our clubs or a synchronized one? If it's a different progress for each clubs, do we have to start counting from the beginning or not? |
What do you think of Blaziken's mega evolution, and do you think Infernape should get a mega evolution in the future?
Yes it would be really good if he do not get banned to ubers but at the same time don´t be weak. Well the bokedex also says a lot about fiery punches so I think that with stronger foes they heat their wrists so when he punches it burn the enemies. In which aspect is Blaziken better than Infernape? And in which part worse than Infernape? Well Infernape is faster but Blaziken can learn substitute to never get ohkoed and get a speed boost, also he mega evolves. Do you think that Infernape is based off of Sun Wukong? Is possible(also for one moment I tought you were talking about Smite). Infernape is unique when it comes to fighting type Pokemon, as it is the only Fighting type Pokemon to naturally learn Acrobatics. Why do you think that is? Well a lot of pokemons who can lear acrobatics via tm also learn bounce by move tutor makingme believe that there is no need to fly to use it so since Infernape seems pretty agile it seems like he could learn it. Winner: Blaziken |
Spoiler:
What do you think of Blaziken's mega evolution, and do you think Infernape should get a mega evolution in the future? - Honestly I love Blaziken's Mega Evolution. I used it for most of my time through Omega Ruby, I unfortunately didn't have X or Y during the time the event Torchic was being given out so I couldn't use it then, but I just loved it's Mega. I loved the design of it and the stat boosts that it gains when it mega evolves, plus I think the Speedboost ability on its mega makes it an absolute monster. And honestly, I would personally love to see Infernape get a mega evolution. - For the flames on the wrists, I mostly see it as a way to show courage as though the stronger the foe, the more courage Blaziken has to even fight the foe. In which aspect is Blaziken better than Infernape? And in which part worse than Infernape? - When it comes to Blaziken, I honestly love its abilities more as I think that Speed Boost is a much helpful ability than Iron Fist, plus it is offensively stronger than Infernape and I love the moves it learns more than Infernapes especially since Blaziken can learn Brave Bird. Also why it is a small thing, I personally like Blaziken's pre-evolutions more, especially when it comes down to Combusken and Monferno, as I really am not a fan of Monferno, but I do love Combusken. As for Infernape, it is tad bit more defensive with only a single stat in both its defenses more than Blaziken, but base wise it is faster than Blaziken and it can learn Calm Mind naturally. Do you think that Infernape is based off of Sun Wukong? - Without a doubt, I would say yes as it shares multiple similarities to Sun Wukong. Infernape is unique when it comes to fighting type Pokemon, as it is the only Fighting type Pokemon to naturally learn Acrobatics. Why do you think that is? - I will have to agree on Sun on this. It's the same as to why Blaziken is also the only fighting type that can learn Brave Bird naturally, it is due to their design. Apes are known to be acrobatic, so it would make a lot of sense for Infernape to learn acrobatics naturally. Vote: Blaziken It's seems like we all think Blaziken should be the winner X3. Here are the results Spoiler:
I am sorry for taking so long with this clash again, but I think it was for the better that this clash went on longer than it should have due to the Lunar New Year. The next clash will definitely end the week exactly after it is posted, which keep an eye out for it as it will be posted soon. Also as of right now, I am still planning out something to replace the chips so for right now no chips have been given out, however very soon for this clash, the next clash, and all future clashes there will be a reward for people who win a clash. One last thing and this is for Sun, after the next Clash goes up, you don't mind if you can chat with me and help me come up with a new reward system? |

Pokémon Clash #7 http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue20/featurednurmt_emboar.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/dreamworld/652.png Emboar vs. Chesnaught
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - Starting with this clash, I will be implementing a few new things for this club including the new reward system. The past 2 clashes will be counted in this new reward system and all wins from those will carry over. How it will work is that if you win a clash, you get a point and these points can be spent at the club shop for items. These items will help with the new thing I will be implementing called "Fight For Power" where club members will compete for power in the club. I will give full details over these in a future post, but what I can say is that there will be a lot more stuff to be able to do in the club, allow for some competitiveness in the club, as well as bring in some club rewards. Keep an eye out in the future for the details of how it will all work. I'm hoping that by time this clash is done, I will have all of it figured out and implemented into this club. I hope that everyone part of this club will like and enjoy what I have came up with. |
Given its design and being based off Journey to the West, can you see Emboar as the Unova counterpart of Infernape?
Rather than calling it a counterpart, I see them as partners! We are still missing 2 more, then we can make a JtTW themed party! Emboar holds the clear distinction of being the only Fighting type Pokemon to learn Smog. Why do you think that is? In a sense it is unique, but Sludge Bomb or even Clear Smog would be more usable than Smog! -cough, cough- Pardon my cough, the smog is too much! In which aspect is Emboar better than Chesnaught? And in which part worse than Chesnaught? Emboar learns different types of moves, which is a huge asset in-game teams. One of these days, I would like to suggest an all Emboar team run to anyone, haha. Chesnaught seems to be more defensively strong than Emboar, it as also retained the nastiness of Grass-types: Having access to Leech Seed! As it's the first fully evolved Fighting starter Pokemon who isn't a Fire type, do you think it was a nice change of pace and how do you think Chesnaught is as the first non-Fire/Fighting starter Pokemon? It's a fresh start of pace for sure, but Chesnaught's typing's becoming more frequent than ever. I was nice to see that type on Breloom, it was definitely unique back then. It would be great if Chesnaught set himself apart by acting as a special oriented Pokemon than a physically based one. As the Spiny Armor Pokemon and being mentioned in the Pokedex that it protects allies and being able to defend itself against a bomb blast, do you think Chesnaught does a good job on being a defensive Fighting type Pokemon? Let's get real here, Grass-type isn't the best when it comes to acting as a defensive type unless if you are a Ferrothorn. Fighting-type's latest addition weakness, the Fairy-type, doesn't do anything good for Chesnaught too. Having said that, it's still good when it comes to dealing non-super effective offensive moves. It would be great if its Bullet Proof Abililty blocks more moves than it currently does, that would help emphasize the defensive role as well as to promote the usability of Chesnaught! [vote] Emboar, it learns different moves. From Grass, Fire, Water to Electric, Ground etc. It has potential to be a better Pokemon. Mickey, those arts though... One is an official Sugimori art, while the another is a Dream World art... |
Given its design and being based off Journey to the West, can you see Emboar as the Unova counterpart of Infernape? No, they just don't match their designs are two diferent
Emboar holds the clear distinction of being the only Fighting type Pokemon to learn Smog. Why do you think that is? Because he farts smog In which aspect is Emboar better than Chesnaught? And in which part worse than Chesnaught? Maybe the typings is better for emboar weakness×4 to fairy is pretty bad. As it's the first fully evolved Fighting starter Pokemon who isn't a Fire type, do you think it was a nice change of pace and how do you think Chesnaught is as the first non-Fire/Fighting starter Pokemon? Yes of course new things are always welcome As the Spiny Armor Pokemon and being mentioned in the Pokedex that it protects allies and being able to defend itself against a bomb blast, do you think Chesnaught does a good job on being a defensive Fighting type Pokemon? No, because frase and fighting are terrible defensively Current mode: Guess Mode Emboar because he was my first starter. |
