fashion crimes

what would you consider a fashion crime? have you ever fallen victim to said fashion crimes? educate and discuss.

Esper July 14th, 2015 9:52 AM

Bowl cuts. Like, no. Sometimes, maybe, but the rest of you better look really good to distract from the bad.

I know this from personal experience.

Her July 14th, 2015 11:56 AM

doc martens

straight to guantanamo for you

I don't care much for trends and fashion crimes. *shrug* I also don't care about my style and whether or not it's 'trendy' either. I have seen some pretty awful things in fashion when I do pay attention. One thing that's the worst for me is people who are socks and sandals together. Just... no.

Pinkie-Dawn July 15th, 2015 12:33 PM

Baggy pants, because nobody wants to see your underwear.

Detox July 15th, 2015 3:16 PM

Skintight jeans. Especially when people wear them sagging off of their asses.

I have a coffee regular who always has his bowl cut hairdo and a mustache. Bowl cuts are meant for really unfortunate kids, but this guy is in his upper twenties, and he can't really grow a mustache, so it's just really thin and doesn't look good at all, and I don't understand why he does this to himself, no one is going to look good with a bowl cut, and I want to tell him that every time I make his white chocolate mocha, but that's really rude, and I can't be rude, but it looks so bad, and his mustache is really creepy with how thin it is, he should really shave it off, but I can't tell if he thinks it looks good, or he doesn't own a razor, but considering the rest of his face is clean shaven he must own one, and he should really consider taking it to his upper lip, or the rest of his head to get rid of that awful bowl cut as there's just no way of making something like that look good, no matter what.

*Deep breath*

Okay, I think I'm done.

I actually still see people wearing these ALL of the time. I thought this was no longer a thing.

...not that it ever should have been one

For me personally it's polos, and any shirts with buttons really. I hate them, hate the feel, hate the look, hate everything about it. I don't own a single shirt with buttons. I hate dressing up in general. If you're lucky I'll wear a nice plain t-shirt with khakis, but that's it.

Livewire July 16th, 2015 7:58 PM

mom/dad jeans, crocs, bowl cuts, and clothes with huge logos, a la Abercrombie and Fitch polos.

Jellicent♀ July 17th, 2015 12:35 AM

I'd say the crime is more of the fault of the actual article of clothing. Otherwise, crapping on people for the way they dress/style their hair/makeup is more of a crime.

have you seen doc martens

Hikamaru July 17th, 2015 4:21 AM

I'm with Team Fail on wearing jeans so low it exposes your underwear is just a terrible sight. I also hate wearing too much black because it's a dreadful sight that makes you look like a shadow.

Aeroblast July 17th, 2015 8:38 AM

definitely socks and sandals.

paltrow's guide to yawning is the real problem on that page and that's saying something

I like crocs! They're comfy and easy to wear! Seriously, though, they are.

Bellsprout July 18th, 2015 7:38 AM

crocs for sure, all denim, people and their ratchet ass hair, sandals on a man unless he is a gay man, shirts or shorts that are too small for your size, those adidas sandals that everyone needs to stop purchasing that come in every brand now, the mom or dad version of any shoe

i work at a store that sells primarily shoes so i see a lot

Lotus the Cat July 18th, 2015 4:30 PM

Polo fleece is my biggest fashion pet peeve as well as any garment made out of 100% viscose (one of the most gross fabrics ever).

"Junners" - runners with jeans, is a crime unless you're 40+. Such clothing is only acceptable in very specific circumstances. My husband started doing it and I had to buy him some other shoes to make him stop.

I concur with other comments on ill-fitting clothing.

I also hate hotpants - I don't want to see a random teenage girl's ass cheeks.

Sonata July 19th, 2015 12:52 AM

Socks with sandals or flip flops, crocs, grown men in heelys, tie dye shirts that aren't being worn because you know you're going to get dirty and you're planning to throw it away after you do whatever it is you're going to do, any number of chains on your pants or shirt, do-rags, and I'm going to stop here. I've worn pants with chains before. I went through a pseudo goth phase and had a single pair of baggy black pants with several chains on them that I wore literally every other day and then I went out and bought this studded wallet that had a heavy ass chain on it. I really feel bad about those two months. I also fell victim to a bowl cut more than once.

curiousnathan July 19th, 2015 5:19 AM

I honestly don't give af if people think what I am wearing is ugly. If it's comfortable and I think it looks good. Bye. Although somewhat hypocritically, I can't stand when people where sleepwear out and about on the street or at the shopping centre for example. Plz no.

Poki July 19th, 2015 8:32 AM

Whatever the fuck hipsters/swaggers wear nowadays.

Are the obvious ones (i.e. crocs, jeggings, sandals w/socks, etc) even worth mentioning?
