Let the music play!
We all listen to music, right? Who doesn't? How about on your computer though; do you listen to music when on your computer at all?
Some thoughts to consider...
I use foobar2000 on WIndows and mplayer on Linux. If foobar was available on Linux I'd use that instead, though. It's cool to have a music player that is also able to play different chiptune music, thanks to the high amount of plugins.
I've heard great things about foobar2000, so I'll try it out sometime :) At least it can play a lot of chip tunes like Winamp, so if Winamp fails, at least I have a fallback program I can go to.
I don't really download a lot of music these days, I usually just listen to songs on Youtube. If I'm looking for something a bit particular, I'll fire up Spotify for a listen.
If I'm on my Mac, I usually just listen to what I have in my iTunes library. It's not very exciting. |
I usually just shuffle through my iTunes library, but I do occasionally listen to Pandora.
I tend to listen to stuff on YouTube, but then people also post little tags on Tumblr where you can listen to music. That's typically what I do.
I listen lots of game music from youtube, but when offline listing I use winamp
I usually use VLC Player for playing music(and even music videos) and when i bored of my downloaded music then i listen music in Youtube then.
I use iTunes to listen to my main library of songs by bands and artists and sometimes Youtube if I'm in the mood for video game or anime music.
I've used iTunes weeks before I got my first iPod in 2006/2007. It's my go-to music listening software on my computer. I can't think of any downsides to it. |
Which program(s) do you use to listen to music? iTunes Though, I actually use my nano almost 24/7 because I can take it with me where I go.
How long have you been using said program(s)? I'm not sure. It was actually around the time I got my first iPhone? *shrug* What do you think its advantages/disadvantages are? Hm. I guess it would be the way it's designed. I do have an older version because mine what update anymore. It's weird. Other than that though, I've never had many problems with it to be honest. An advantage for me would be the amount of plays a song gets. I just think it's kind of cool is all. hehe. Also, the past things I've used are Windows Media Player and Winamp. I don't think I've ever had any bad luck with them either. The only thing I didn't like about WMP was how bulky it was when I used it. As for Winamp though, I loved the fact that the older versions allowed you to customize it with different skins and stuff. That was always really fun for me. :3 |
Winamp is my go-to program for music. It has the ability for lots of custom programs, and I can even force audio to mono with some scripting :3 so far, nothing's been wrong with it for me to even consider switching, but at the same time, I should probably give some other programs a try lol
Depends on my mood. If I want to listen to game and anime, usually Youtube like a few others. If something more from an artist, Spotify. If I feel like listening to the songs on my computer then Winamp or VLC player. I'm trying foobar2000 at the moment and it's taking me a bit getting used to, though I just downloaded it last night.
Windows Media Player for the music I already own.
I subscribe to Spotify Premium though, as it has become my primary source for music. |
Linux Mint comes with Banshee installed so I use that. It works perfectly for my offline music needs and even works with streaming radio streams. Though my most liked aspect is the built in music widget in cinnamon,
Most of my music listening nowadays is either Spotify, or another streaming site.
For music that's actually on my computer (which is pretty much all the music I tended to listen to before...er, not sure, few years ago at most), I just use Windows Media Player because I'm too lazy to change the default. And then if I'm in the mood for chiptunes (happens every so often), I end up using VLC player, since the playlist I know of seems to work best in that. And then for everything else that doesn't fit into any of the above, I just go wander the Youtubes. |
For listening to music on my Mac, I mostly do use iTunes to do so.
Usually I tend to use Winamp to listen to musics in my PC, and listening to iTunes on occasion.
I use Play Music via Google Chrome. Requires a internet connection, but being able to stream any music I want at any time is extremely convenient and has saved me crazy amounts of money. My library also syncs with my phone without having to plug it into my computer which is very convenient.
I've been using spotify for 4(?) years now. I've been using plug.dj/youtube for about 5 months now. I do like spotify because there's a lot of stuff that's on there that you can't find on youtube surprisingly so that works out. But then I like plug because of the whole listening with friends thing.
iTunes is great for music listening, but not much else. The problem is the software is extremely buggy sometimes, but I have to use it because iPod.
I also use Pandora and VLC. |
Using Spotify for the most part these days. That or I'd loop a random video on my phone using Listenonrepeat. I have a few songs on my phone anyway, and plenty more on my mp3 player which i use when away from an access wifi point. Spotify is a fairly new thing for me, but I'm pretty content with the way I get my music these days, :) Haven't touched a CD in yearsssz.
I've heard great things about foobar2000.....
I use Winamp or Foobar. Usually foobar cause plugins and great for ricing, but sometimes Winamp is just more comfortable.
