I assure you, by coming here you have made a very wise choice. Dúlra is a region heavily influenced by the idea of living in harmony with nature and it is one of the regions closest in spirit to the Legendary pokémon that inhabit the World, as well as the incredible powers they utilize. In terms of geographical inspiration from the Real World, Dúlra is heavily influenced by the small island nation of Ireland and the deep, mystical lore that said place has thanks to it's celtic origins. Most of the buildings, clothing and ornaments of Dúlra are inspired heavily by celtic design and soon in the future I will be revealing a few unique features which tie this culture and the World of pokémon together. (Intricate celtic mega stone ornaments and unique unknown designs, to give a few examples.) While based on Ireland in the South in particular, the North of the region takes a more tropical influence, with a vast desert sprawling across the center and a tropical jungle dominating the North. Despite this alternating climate, the culture stands resolute and expands along the entirety of the region regardless, by combining the more tropical climates with the unique celtic influence of the culture, Dúlra finds it's own unique style that grants it a unique and pleasant atmosphere. http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjI2LjEzYTcxMS5RbUZzWVc1alpTQmhibVFnUlhGMVlXeHBkSGssLjAAAA,,/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png The Dúlra region is located to the central-East of the World map and stands alone as an Island nation. A deep culture and a legend that speaks of a wish made by Arceus itself has instilled one firm belief in the population of Dúlra, that balance among all things, humans, pokémon and nature, is necessary for true peace to be obtained. Because of this the Dúlra region has taken many unique stances that differ from other regions, their take on pokémon training being one of the most unique yet somehow effective ideals out there. Due to their belief that it disrupts the balance of the World, Dúlra is a region that generally dislikes the excessive use of technology and thus it exhibits slightly different procedure for pokémon trainers. Trainers hailing from Dúlra have sworn against using pokéballs, viewing the capsules as unnecessary and insulting to their pokémon partners. Thus, all trainers pokémon will travel alongside them out in the open and pokémon may only be "caught" through a natural bond of mutual respect. In Dúlra trainers are not considered to "own" their pokémon, they instead consider every pokémon on their team as a travelling partner equal in worth to that of any human. Dúlra trainers also tend to refrain from using commercial bought potions and the like, powerful and sweet tasting herbal remedies are instead the norm in any and all pokémon centers and pokémarts. The only technology generally used in Dúlra is that of the medical machines, cash registers and the like readily available in any pokémon center. Outside of this, pokédexes are accepted as beneficial and not harmful to the balance of the Dúlra region and are distributed to trainers as expected. It is believed that by preforming certain rituals at certain locations across the region of Dúlra, that the legendary incarnations of creation and destruction themselves can be summoned into the World. However knowledge of such rituals has been lost to time and due to the complete tilt in the balance of the World caused by such... the rites for said procedures are forbidden from study to begin with. Somewhere in Dúlra it is believed that a rare access point to the distortion World is hidden. However such a thing has never been proven to exist. http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjI2LjEzYTcxMS5RU0JVY21GcGJtVnlJRzltSUVURHVteHlZUSwsLjAAAAAAAAAAAAAA/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png The Dúlra region is currently accepting any willing members in order to bolster it's numbers and develop itself further for whatever challenges may arise in the future. If you feel like the ideas of balance and more freedom for your pokémon companions is something that would suit you well then this might just be the region for you. Should you decide to sign up then please fill out the very quick and easy form below, those looking to help develop the region through artwork, lore ideas, unique fakemon and spritework will be greatly appreciated and are in demand right from the get go. Of course if none of these skills sound like you then you are welcome to join regardless, none whom agree with The Dúlra regions ideals will be turned down. Indeed, regardless of who you are... The Alpha being, Arceus... and his flawed creation, Giratina. In the blind rage of destruction did the son strike the father. But the creators strength was too great." "In that moment, Arceus did cast him down. Giratina, his darkened son, faded from the Hall of Origin to the distortion World in alternation. His aggression finally quelled as grief and sadness took its place. Regret. His anger had brought a great pain to many... and in a fleeting moment of desire for redemption the beast of darkness shed a tear." "Arceus, the almighty power that was the renegade pokémons father, watched Giratina, his creation, weep for his lost freedom. Filled with sympathy for the misguided dragon, Arceus in turn shed a tear of his own to follow that of his assailant. A tear of desire, a desire for peace and harmony between he and those whom he had conceived." "To the world of Pokécommunity below these tears did fall and in unison they conjoined in their downward spiral." "The will to create made manifest in Arceus, the desire to destroy ever present in Giratina, in this single instant both found a way to co-exist, manifesting into a single tear falling and a new force of power. A force of hope, a force of the peace ever present in family, community and co-existence." "And as it dropped to the seas below the heavens it let out a single piercing and blinding light. The light grew into a new land, a place not intended for creation, but instead born out of a deep and meaningful desire for harmony." "And so the legends say, that in an ancient tongue of Gods the land was given a name." "Dúlra." |
Love the Region so far Jay! Especially the lore you're establishing already, sounds good!

Name: Mayo
Trainer Class: Pokemon Breeder Pokémon: Mareep, Ghastly, Mawile, Zubat, Abra, Houndour First Pokémon (Partner): Mareep Additional Information: Sometimes helps others raise their Pokemon, but generally spends time carefully raising her own to be as happy and healthy as possible. This looks pretty cool! The lore sounds really in-depth and it has some really unique touches that I absolutely love. I'm not entirely sure what's gonna happen, but I thought it would be awesome if I could be a Pokemon breeder. And it would be even more awesome if at some point, somehow, my Pokemon would evolve or something. xD |
I'm 100% in, the history of the region is amazing. Good job, Jay! After what you told me in the Skype chat, there's no way I could refuse joining this @[email protected]
Name: Seth Trainer Class: Gym Leader (Deceptio offered me Gym Leader postiton) Pokémon: Lucario, Scizor, Aegislash, Bisharp, Poltivolt and Dragalge. First Pokémon (Partner): Riolu Additional Information: Seth is the head lawyer of Calafort City. He is a prosecutor. He fights for justice, no matter what. But finding out the truth isn't his only specialty. He is also a very good battler, and has been offered the Gym Leader position by Jay, the champion of the region and a good friend of his. He specializes in Steel type Pokemon, his favorite type, but they aren't the only type he got. He once traveled to the neighbor region of Dulra, Oceia and caught a Pokemon. (Poltivolt) It was his first time using Pokeballs because catching Pokemons in Dulra was strictly prohibited. Of course, when he returned to Dulra he had to release Politvolt from his Pokeball. Balance is everything in Dulra, after all. All credits for Poltivolt goes to gimmepie. |
Welcome to the region Seth. Glad to have you on board.~

Name: Evienne
Trainer Class: Gym Leader <3 Pokémon: Greninja, Shiftry, Mandibuzz, Tyranitar, Umbreon, and Houndoom. I have dreams of befriending Darkrai one day. First Pokémon (Partner): Froakie and Seedot. Additional Information: Evienne is a member of the ancient group the "Mhac Suimhne", and her life has been dedicated to protecting what is now the lost Temple of Giratina with her brothers and sisters of the order. Although the temple no longer stands as grandly as it once did, Evienne knows the danger it once presented to the world, and wants to be ready for if/when she is needed to help protect the balance. She has been friends with her Greninja and Shiftry since she was young (and they were a Froakie and Seedot), and she has since specialized in the Dark-type Pokémon, so much so that she was able to become a gym leader. These days she keeps a close eye on all the happenings within her area influence. |
And perhaps one day you shall befriend Darkrai. Depending on how things progress.
Welcome to the region, remnant of Mhac Suimhne. Good to have you! |
http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjI2LjEzYTcxMS5WR2hsSUV4bFoyVnVaR0Z5ZVNCaGJtUWdUWGwwYUdsaklGQnZhOE9wYlc5dUlHOW1JRVREdW14eVlRLCwuMAA,/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png The Dúlra region is rumored to house a large amount of legendary pokémon due to it's closeness to the creation myth and it's own Legend of Conception due to the clash between Arceus and Giratina. However, while many myths and legends are rumored to exist in this land. Only a few of these rumors rings true. The following list speaks of all Legendary and Mythic pokémon that can legitimately be found within Dúlra. However, do not expect to locate these creatures lightly... and even if you do so you may regret it. The pokémon of Dúlra reside there to maintain the balance just as the humans do... and anything that might represent a threat to their way of life may lead to an intense battle. While it is difficult to ascertain the exact form and presence it has, it is almost unanimously agreed among the residents of Dúlra that somewhere, somehow, Giratina IS there. In truth, the ancient temple of distortion lies North of Mt. Dia and it's location is currently known only to the Champion, The Mhac Suimhne clan and all those deemed strong and worthy enough by the champion to resist the urge to go to the now sealed temple and disturb the great Renegade's true resting place. The temple of distortion is named so due to being formed out a strange substance, solid as rock, yet soft to the touch. It distorts the space around the area and disturbs the spirits of the dead. This material is unique in that it is the same substance by which the Griseous orb is formed. Almost as if it's a pocket in space and time, the interior of this temple twists and turns and it is believed that the entire building is a conduit and portal to the distortion World. Giratina resides within and through here can access the region of Dúlra and the World of pokécommunity at large. Despite his destructive nature, he is believed to protect Dúlra as it represents the single moment of peace between he and his Alpha, Arceus. If one were ever foolish enough to consider facing Giratina, it is advised not to do so in his temple. Due to the energies residing there, Giratina is always in his powerful Origin form while inside or in the area surrounding the structure. |
The Ambassador Arrives http://i.imgur.com/pATL1IM.png Angus Gestr stood on the pier, looking at the expanse of brown and black buildings that was Calafort City and pondering why the city was essentially split down the middle in its colour scheme. Several boats of varying sizes were docked around him and overhead scores of large winged pokemon flew too and from various buildings. This was the young politician’s first time visiting somewhere outside of Oceia region, where even there he rarely left the confines of his home city of Velia. Beside him, his Kangaskhan was looking around almost as curiously as he was. To both of them it was obvious that Dulra was a very different place to Oceia – and not just because of the strange law banning the use of pokeballs. Strange place or not though, for both Angus and his pokemon this was going to be his home for the years to come. Oceia and Dulra had forged an unprecedented political alliance and despite his youth he had been chosen to represent his own region as ambassador. The young man was determined to do his region proud and to continue to foster a positive relationship between the Dulra and his home. With his Kangaskhan following behind him, Angus turned towards the lighter half of Calafort City where the new Oceian embassy was nearly complete and a new era was ready to begin. |
Letter From Haeven http://orig15.deviantart.net/7977/f/2012/310/b/4/va_mailman_girafarig_by_krokus00-d5k5oog.png I would like to form an alliance between our two regions. I believe that by building a friendship, our regions could learn a lot from each other. Our region respects the equality between pokemon and people. I hope that by forming an alliance we can learn from each other and also prevent other regions from provoking one of us to war. Of all the pokémon that definitively fit the classification of "Legendary", the three Legendary Beasts are the most commonly sighted due to their habit of roaming the region and appearing to those few trainers whom they deem as worthy. The Legendary Beasts have been present in the region for as long as anyone can remember and seem to serve as nomadic protectors of the peace. When the Balance of the region is threatened... or should an innocent pokémon or human be put in harms way... many people have told tales of the Legendary Beasts appearing as if from nowhere and striking down the party in the wrong. Their exact motives, purpose and origin in Dúlra is largely unknown and as such their motives can at present only be guessed at. As well as acting as saviors of the innocent and weak, the Legendary beasts also seem to very rarely present themselves as a sort of ultimate challenge for the very strongest of trainers in Dúlra. Entei, Suicune and Raikou each serve as a force to be reckoned with and depending on the trainer and the aura they represent a member of the trio will offer a challenge (that may of course be refused) to those they deem worthy. Upon their defeat a token of reprisal, usually a small glowing orb, will be left as a prize and trophy to the trainer whom managed to best the beast in battle. Presenting this orb to the champion is said to be the only way a trainer can become a member of Dúlra's elite four... in this way it is not only the people, but the pokémon of Dúlra whom decide on those select few who might represent the region as its strongest battlers. This can also be taken as one of the reasons as to why all of Dúlra's gym leaders are of considerable strength, since it is most commonly these exceptionally strong leaders that are chosen by the beasts for a trial by combat. There are rumors... that beating the pokémon league alone is not enough to claim the title as Champion of Dúlra. To the pokémon as well as the people must strength be proven in Dúlra... and all three of the legendary beasts are more than ready to prove this, by fighting together as one against the single strongest opponent the region can offer. |
http://i.imgur.com/16JDubQ.png Ambassador of Haeven http://ih0.redbubble.net/image.73085118.3993/sticker,375x360.u2.png I would be honored to have an embassy in Dúlra as well as build an embassy for Dúlra in Haeven. I will send my best ambassador with some supplies to build an embassy as well as gifts unique to our region. If you require any assistance please contact me. In case you were wondering why I was sending letters, I can’t exactly “talk” human (as I am a sylveon) so I write to communicate over long distances. I also am hesitant to send someone in a royal uniform anywhere without good reason because of the terrorist groups that oppose my reign. Sincerely, King Socks of Haevenhttp://www.ghettorescueffoundation.org/images/lg_Paw%20Print%20Small.gif |
Allow me now to tell you an older tale. The tale of a single pokémon that almost upset the balance of Dúlra forever... and of the counterpart that tested his resolve. In the new moons light it came. Draped in darkness it seemed almost lost in it's erratic movements. It's very form was an unnatural shade. When the beasts attempted to strike it down it summoned a black miasma and caught them in a terrible slumber where their very dreams distorted to harm them. However upon looking deeply at the creature, one would see not malice... but a strange and unique form of fear. As if unable to see out of its own shade, this pokémon of nightmares continued to move throughout the region, tormenting the sleep of the humble folk that lived there and drawing them into it's dark void through almost no fault of it's own. Yet no matter how far the frightened pokémon fled all it ever did was hurt those whom lay around it. In the day it could not move freely, for fear of the piercing light, yet in the night every step it took brought it closer to doing harm. As it moved forward through the lower routes of Dúlra and towards the ancient Rósta city... it stopped to attack an entity before it. Yet it stopped itself to see a young human girl. Torn and afraid the pokémon thrashed in place, as if tormented by it's purpose. And Darkrai fell to the ground. Exhausted. The young girl, now smiling, walked towards the tired being and transformed. In a blinding flash the girl's body morphed to a floating being of glowing light. Cresselia, the lunar pokémon had appeared before her counterpart, whom had never meant any harm, and tested his resolve. He had passed her test... and so together they would find a way to co-exist. *** The previous story is a tale told to children in Dúlra to show that light must not simply snuff out the dark. It's intention is to teach the young that the darkness is not evil and that it instead is often misunderstood. It shows the young that what others fear as cruel... is also often a part of balance and that the mercy such fears are capable of can often be greater than we might expect. Darkrai and Cresselia are mere symbols of these stories. However, modern day Dúlrans often suspect that the origin of this tale is something of substance. An ancient and destroyed temple of light located in the center of the Scalladh dessert... and a dark, primarily haunted temple in Rósta city show signs that people once payed homage to two lesser deities that represented the balance of light and dark... and the cycles of the moon. It is often thought, that if certain events were to take place in these temples when the moon is in just the right spot... that perhaps the childrens fable of old might prove more a reality than it outwardly seems. |
Name: Gray
Trainer Class: Suspicious Lady Pokémon: Umbreon, Minun, Plusle First Pokémon (Partner): Minun Additional Information: In truth, Gray isn't entirely sure of her aspirations. She seems to have yet to discover her purpose, but searches for it ruthlessly. Her silent and brooding nature often strike others as strange, though she hardly pays them any mind. |
Welcome to Dúlra. You suspicious lady you.
Are you sure you don't wanna be a gentleman though. |
...Thank you. For the welcome, I mean.

Welcome to the region Eros. Please remember to keep all budew supplies nature friendly. The natural World is very important in Dúlra, but especially in Rinne city.

Name: Lise Trainer Class: Grass-type Gym Leader Ambassador of the Hoogland Region Pokémon: http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/671-w.png / http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/492.png http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/286.png http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/254.png http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/275.png http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/357.png http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/549.png Additional Information: Originally hailing from the Hoogland Region in the far north, Lise moved to Dúlra with her family at a young age. Her father was a diplomat, and one of the first to establish Hoogland relations outside of the large continent the region is a part of. Following in his footsteps, Lise quickly rose to become one of the most well-loved citizens of her new hometown of Rinne. She has one Pokémon that came with her from Hoogland, albeit as a Flabébé named Eve. Now a Florges, Eve is Lise's most trusted Pokémon. Apart from this, she has the Sceptile that she received as a Treecko when first moving to Dúlra, and a flock of other Grass types that she managed to befriend when travelling the region for the first time. Finally, there is Grace, a small Shaymin that visits Lise for the Seasonal Sky Festival, that takes place in Rinne every three months. Named for the Dúlran Gracidea flower, Grace is a young Shaymin and so generally not used in battles. Although Lise is more than happy to have Grace as a friend, she does aspire to fight alongside her in battle one day. |
Excellent, that makes three of eight leaders and counting.
Welcome to Dúlra, Nagi, and remember BALANCE have fun. |
Rinne city is known as the city of blossoming flowers in Dúlra for a reason. Native to and blossoming in every nook and cranny of the humble gathering of wooden structures are the regions national flower, the Gracidea blossom. A flower usually quite rare, it blooms so vibrantly in the Dúlran inland due to the lack of pollution and the pure, clean air. The Gracidea, however, is no ordinary flower... in fact it is said to contain magical properties that stem from the immense feelings of gratitude that emanate from the pink blossom, the same quality that makes the Gracidea flower a symbol of gratitude and love, given to ones closest friends and family to express appreciation and care. And it is this wonderful quality, that leads a certain pokémon to visit Dúlra with every changing season. Shaymin, the gratitude pokémon is usually an incredibly uncommon sight in Dúlra. With it being sensationally rare to see one in any area at all. However, this all changes on the weeked of Rinne cities "Seasonal Sky Festival". Shaymin in their sky form, can only remain in sky form for so long... and the energy that fuels this transformation is purity and gratitude. It is by this reasoning, that the feelings they experience when making contact with the Gracidea flower are what trigger the change from their innocent and gentle land forms... to their adventurous and free forms of the sky. So it is, that once every three months... a large flock of Shaymin move towards Dúlra, to visit the solemn city of Rinne and to frolick among the Gracidea... to fill themselves with the transforming and heartfelt emotion of gratitude that sustains their means of flight. If you are ever present in Dúlra for the change of seasons, then it is almost a crime not to interact with and watch in awe as the Shaymins remain in the city for two days, no more, only to transform to their sky forms and take flight in unison as the festival draws to a close. In some cases, though it is rare, a Shaymin may form a strong and unbending bond with a trainer of Dúlra. In this case and in this case alone, is a Shaymin liable to stay in the region for an extended period of time, as there free spirits will inevitably call to them once more otherwise. |
They say that Mt. Dia has been around since the beginning of Dúlra's existence and that it's birth represents the creation of Entei in the region, as following with the known myth that a new Entei is born with the awakening of a volcano in the World. However, only a few years back a scientific investigation team was granted the ability to study the previously unexplored active volcanic core of Mt. Dia by the now succeeded former Champion of the region. Expecting to find nothing but simple examples of fire type life and a barrage of molten rock, the results of the endeavor could have been no worse than what they were and some say that screams could be heard from the mountain that day. In one of the most well known tragedies to occur in Dúlra over the course of recent years, only one man of a research group consisting of ten members and seventeen pokémon returned from the volcano that day. He brought with him his research and the results of such were quite grim. The man claimed, that for the first few days of the expedition near the surface and outer core areas of the volcano, things had gone swimmingly without a hitch. Interestingly enough, they had found tracks belonging to an unknown pokémon, unlisted in the Dúlran pokédex at the time. Perhaps even more interestingly, it was revealed that Mt. Dia had (very unusually for such a large volcanic structure) been formed without an eruption, starting it's life cycle in a dormant state as if it had been made the way it was by a specific design. To gain further information the group final broke through to and began to study the inner core of the volcanic mountain. That was when "it" attacked. The man raved and lamented over it... some terrifying monstrosity of molten fire and steel, it easily defeated all of the pokémon and people who stood against it and showed no remorse as they fell into the molten rock it so easily strode through. The young man whom had survived was lucky to have escaped with his life. Upon greater study and speculation from a distance it came to people's understanding that following Mt. Dia's eruption some 20 years beforehand, the once dormant Mt. Dia had become far more powerful and active. The molten core now being in it's raging state had drawn the attention of a very powerful pokémon whom may have been sleeping beneath the Earth for eons before choosing Mt. Dia's core as it's domain. This pokémon was Heatran... and to this day travelers and residents alike are all but forbidden from setting foot into the core of Mt. Dia, for fear that the wrath of the fiercely territorial pokémon might cause a severe loss of life once more. |

Was this what their ideals were to cost them all? Was this truly the sacrifice that peace required? In the end was there nothing he could have done to avert what was said to be prophecy when this other had been so intent on it being fulfilled? Why had their God created them with this purpose? Why did their home have to exist if it required such a price to even continue. So gentle it was, yet he realized now that this gentle nature was not born from freedom and peace alone. But from death. Were they really blessed at all? Or was it more of a curse that hung over their heads? Then perhaps he had no choice. Perhaps it was time that he put an end to what they started. And so he left his brother in a pool of blood, plunging his sword into the ground beside him." "He had understood far too late what true balance entailed. Came to see far too late, the cost it would demand. ...a place not intended for creation." |

My name Tiomáint Mhian, or for those not so familiar with the ancient Dúlran tongue, you may simply call me Theo. While not part of the pokémon league, I am the head general of the Dúlran military operation and second tactician to the Dúlran champion himself. I have recently been authorized to inform all of you here, that Dúlra plans to refine the skills of its allies and itself by opening the training grounds of our North Eastern island to public relations. That technical jargon's all a bunch of nonsense to me though... To tell you the truth, what this means is that you lot are going to be able to train alongside the Dúlran army and myself in real time war scenarios... battles on the field of war are a little bit different than your organized nonsense in the league. So I hope you're up to scratch on- Wait a second what am I saying! Look at you lot, you're green as grass! A few stronger folk from the other regions maybe... but these Dúlran troops are fresh off the boat by the looks of things! Then let's take it one step at a time. I'll give you a few lessons in the art of war... set up a few practice games amidst the troops under my regiment. Watch and learn folks... you might need these lessons someday! Oh and before I forget! Welcome to Dueala! May our battles bring prosperity and balance to the World! |

So at least some of you managed to hold it together long enough to stick around eh? Great! Lucky you found me when you did, the mock battle I've et up is just about to start. So you can look in and I'll explain the basic one two's of war. C'mon rookie! Don't get left behind! Now then... troops! Are you ready to go?! Red team?! http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/1-1.pnghttp://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/10-1.pnghttp://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/29-1.png SIR, YES SIR! Excellent! Blue team?! Are you and your pokémon prepared to fight?! http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/1f-1.pnghttp://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/19-1.pnghttp://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/31-1.png READY AND WILLING, SIR! Good! Then take your positions! Let's show these rooks how it's done! http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png Look alive rookie! You're on the field of battle now, maybe this is all for show but at the end of the day you've always gotta be ready to fight. Especially in the field! Let's take a quick look your map... where is it? Don't worry we installed it on your pokédex before you got here. We call it the "Tactical Map" or TM (no pun intended) for short. Dúlrans aren't big fans of technology, but even we can accept something like this if it helps on the field of battle! The map lays a grid over the are and instantly transmits the collected data back to your dex. It's proven to be a invaluable tool. As a soldier, the area around you is just as important as the fight at hand. So let's focus on your map and I'll explain what's what. Blue Squares: These are spaces occupied by the "blue teams" pokémon. Red Squares: These are spaces occupied by the "red teams" pokémon. Empty Squares: There ain'tnothing on thesquares but the ground. Barrier Squares: These are spaces that have impassable terrain. We've set up some fences as an example. Obstacle Squares: These are spaces that contain obstacles that can be removed by certain pokémons moves. Rough Terrain Squares: These are spaces that are empty, but the type of terrain underfoot has some sort of special effect... such as only allowing certain types of pokémon to cross over it, or impairing movement slightly. We've used some long grass as an example. Simple enough right? Now then let's get to the point shall we? The goal of any war time battle is to beat the opposing armies pokémon using your own... but in war it's not as simple as a few pokémon battles. Nobodies going to stand around and care about official rules while you sit on your ass asking for a referee. First things first, you've got to get your pokémon within attacking range of the enemy! So, let's talk about tactical movement. Every "turn" of battle, pokémon have two basic options. "Move" or "Act". Moving allows a pokémon to move to a different square on the map, while preforming an action could be one of any number of things from attacking to using an item. Some action can be done AFTER moving but preforming an action will always mean the end of your turn. Pokémon aren't machines, they can't just keep going and going. So you're probably asking. "How many spaces can I move in a turn?" My response? "How fast is your pokémon?" The base speed stat will decide how many spaces you can move in battle. Remember, pokémon cannot move diagonally, only horizontally or vertically, don't ask me why, never understood it myself. Here are the statistics relating to base speed: Under 50 Base Speed: A measly 2 spaces per turn. 50 to 100 Base Speed: A basic 3 spaces per turn. 100 to 150 Base Speed: An impressive 4 spaces per turn. Over 150 Base Speed: An astounding 5 squares per turn. Remember, a pokémon doesn't have to move it's full amount of spaces. It can choose to move a lower amount of spaces if it wants to, it just can't choose to go higher than it's limit per turn. This base value can also be affected by a number of factors, such as paralysis or the terrain. The long grass present on the field for example, is thick and tough to traverse, so every space you spend walking across it counts for two. Teams naturally take turns in war situations so that tacticians can react accordingly, so for the sake of training we'll red team take their actions first. Let's see how they choose to move: http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png Hmm... looks good to me! Tell you what, to test what you've learned so far why don't you try to figure exactly what choices the red team made and how they panned out? Take a guess and once you feel like you've gotten it go ahead and ask me for the correct answer. It's not too hard so I'm sure even a rookie can get it! Spoiler:
Haha, were you right? Let's hope so! I think that just about covers it for moving around the field and getting to know the map. Now it's time for lesson 2 of 3 rookies! The nitty gritty: Actions and Battling! |
http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjI2LjEzYTcxMS5RV04wYVc5dWN5QmhibVFnUVhSMFlXTnJhVzVuLjAA/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png Alright rookie, it's time for lesson two. The real meat of any practice match or actual battle... the fighting and action! http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.pngNow remember last time I told you a pokémon has two basic choices at the beginning of a turn? Well it's time we discussed the alternative to movement, an action. An action can be one of three things: A Trainer Action An Item Usage A Pokémon Move In this lesson we'll be focusing entirely on the latter, with the former two being covered in the final lesson of your little "tutorial". Now any schmuck with a badge can tell you what a pokémon move is. It's an attack or support technique that a pokémon can preform in to attack an opponent or boost the strength of themselves and their allies. Pokémon generally know four moves maximum, but due to the tactical pressure of a war time situation, we limit our tactics to two moves and no more. Trying to accommodate or any more would wear out an armies trainers and pokémon far too quickly. How about we check out what the red team's moves are? Spoiler:
As you probably saw, not all of these moves dealt damage... in war, a pokémon's move is generally used for one of three things: Clearing an environmental hazard or obstacle from the map. Attacking or supporting another pokémon or oneself. Enhancing movement across a map's terrain. Let's go through these one at a time. See that small tree on the map? That's what we call an "obstacle". Now obstacles, like the ones in our day to day life, are far from insurmountable. There are many unique obstacles and there are many unique ways to take them out of the picture. How do you remove specific obstacles? Trial and error my friend! What do you think this is? A video game?! HAHAHA! Nothing is definite so try different things! Take this small tree for example... the best approach is the logical one. Why not have Treeko cut it down? Or maybe you could try and have Charmander burn it to ash? There are many different ways of dealing with things... sometimes an object might take more than one type of move to be destroyed. You've just got to take the risk with a bit of trial and error sometimes. Let's see it in action shall we? We'll have the red team clear the trees blocking its path using Treeko and Charmander! Charmander used Ember! It burned down the small tree to his diagonal-right! Treeko used Scratch! It cut down the small tree to his diagonal attack! When a pokémon uses an action, it's turn is over, end of story. So Treeko and Charmander are out of commission until the red teams next turn. But what about Plusle? She's stuck in the tall grass and will have to use up two of her movable spaces to get out. Or will she? By using Plusle's charge move she can move one more space this turn! The effects of moves like these ignore rough terrain completely and should allow Plusle to get out this turn! Plusle used Charge! It mustered the energy to move one more space East! Hmm... with all three pokémons moves completed, the Red teams turn is over. Let's take another look at the map. http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png As expected... everything seems to have gone exactly according to plan. Next up, the blue team get their turn to move... so let's skip forward a few turns to one of the red team's future turns, so that we can get down to the final part of this lesson. http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png It was a tough fight, but it looks like we're finally down to our last two pokémon, with team red being the next team to attack. In case you weren't paying attention, Let me go over the mechanics of battle for you. Most if not all attacking moves have a damage output and a range. The range can be loose or specific depending on the move, for example, Ember can hit any target within two squares... whereas electro ball can ONLY hit targets two squares away. All moves have set damage, however this damage can be improved or hindered using stat changing moves and other methods. As you probably know, every pokémon has a certain amount of HP. When this HP reaches zero, the pokémon faints... however there are many HP recovering moves and items to help prevent this. Moves are also effected by STAB (Same type attack bonus.) with all moves doing additional damage if used by a pokémon that is the same type as said move... as opposed to a pokémon who isn't. Finally, a move's damage is of course altered in accordance with the effectiveness of said moves against an opponent. A super effective move will do 1.5X the damage it normally would. A not very effective move on the other hand, will only do .5X the damage. It's a simple enough system to understand, as it is with an official league battle. There are many differences, but admittedly there are also many things that stay the same. On that note, it's about time red team made its move. RED TEAM MOVES Treeko moves East 1 Space, Down 1 Space. RED TEAM ACTS Treeko uses scratch on Froakie... it's a critical hit! Froakie takes 12 damage. Froakie fainted! http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png Whoa! Did you see that?! That was a critical hit! A critical hit doubles a moves power... and while the chance of it happening can be altered in certain ways, it's usually a one in twenty occurrence with every attack your pokémon makes! Regardless of that, it seems the practice battle has ended. With only Treeko left on the field it seems to be a... http://i.imgur.com/UT9Lk8M.png http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/1-1.pnghttp://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/10-1.pnghttp://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/29-1.png RED TEAM VICTORY Well rookies, that's the end of the second lesson. Hopefully if you find yourself on a war field you won't be totally lost at this point. You've got one final lesson ahead of you, so you'd best get ready for it. After that? There won't be nothin' I can teach you that experience can't show you better. It's almost a little sad, I mightn't even be able to call you rookies anymore after... Advanced Actions and How to Play! |
http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjI2LjEzYTcxMS5RV1IyWVc1alpXUWdRV04wYVc5dWN5QmhibVFnU0c5M0lIUnZJRkJzWVhrLC4wAA,,/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png No wasting time this time folks, today we jump straight into the action for your final lesson. We'll be discussing support moves, the other available actions and how to actually participate in practice matches... after that? Well you'll have to learn the rest through experience! http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png Let's talk support moves. First things first, you'll notice a fairly familiar bar beneath each pokémon above. This is the health bar and it gives a rough indication of how much HP every pokémon on the field has left. Judging by this you can probably see why the blue team is in a pretty bad position, thankfully Togepi has a support move that can help out. "Wish: All surrounding friendly units regain plus 5 HP. Does not work if Togepi has moved this turn." So... so long as Togepi hasn't moved in the same turn, it can use the wish move to return HP to all of its allies in a flash. It's only five HP, but for such low level pokémon and for multiple pokémon at once? This move is still more than useful. See what I mean? There are many support moves of various types that do various different things. Explaining them all here would take a very long time, so it's best to find and experience them for yourself. http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png Trainer actions are single use abilities that can be used by trainers on the field of combat. They're usually very powerful and are often considered a last resort or finishing move depending on the trainer using it. Every individual trainer has a unique move and only the champion is able to figure them out and reveal them to you. As an example, let's take our Steel type gym leader Seth's Trainer Action ability, courtesy of the champion himself. Trainer Ability: OBJECTION!: Prevents all pokémon in a three block area around the user from using moves upon the next turn. As you can see? A super useful ability in combat. As most Trainer Abilities are. I'm sure the Champion will be more than happy to reveal yours to you during your first practice match. http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png The final type of action we have yet to discuss is the use of items. A small supply of items are given to your team at the beginning of the match, any trainer can use them on their pokémon, but it's important to remember that supplies are limited. It's best to discuss whom uses what item with your team beforehand, whether or not you use items often or sparingly is up to you and your team's discretion in battle. A list of common items is written here, sometimes you might get something unique to a specific area or battle... in which case it will most likely be explained to you before the match. Oran Berry: Restores 25% HP to the pokémon it is used on. Sitrus Berry: Restores 50% HP to the pokémon it is used on. Pecha Berry: Cures Poison and toxic. Cheri Berry: Cures Paralysis. Rawst Berry: Cures Burns. Chesto Berry: Cures sleep Lum Berry: Cures all status conditions. Power Root: Increases the damage of the next neutral effectiveness move to 1.5%. Shielded Root: Protects the user from all damage for the enemies next turn. Revival Herb: If used in the same space where a pokémon fainted, brings them back into play with half HP. http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png Status conditions are just as annoying on the field of war as they are anywhere else. Dealing with them can be a big problem if you don't have the correct items or moves. Watch out for these conditions and remember their effects. Poison: Deals 5% damage to the afflicted pokémon at the end of each turn. Fades away when the pokémon is at 5% or lower HP. Toxic: Deals 2 damage, increasing in increments of two at the end of each turn. (2, 4, 6, 8, etc.) Doesn't stop until the afflicted pokémon is cured or fainted. Paralysis: Cuts the amount of spaces a pokémon moves in half rounding to the lower number in odd numbered cases. Lasts until cured. Sleep: The pokémon cannot move for three turns... but also takes half damage from all attacks until awoken. Burn: The pokémon takes 5% damage at the end of every turn. All physical attack damage is cut in half for the duration of the burn. A burn will fade naturally when a pokémon reaches or drops below 10% HP. http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png Now... the champion has given me instructions for how a specific group of people can join the practice session. He calls them "WOPC members"? I don't particularly understand this, but I'll read his request anyway. "All WOPC members whom wish to play are welcome to join the games, regardless of their affiliations or relations to Dúlra. They will be described in game as a "visitor from XXX region" in game and will not be restricted in any way. In order to start a game, three people are needed. A GM, usually the Dúlran champion Deceptio, and a player for the other side. Teams must have balanced numbers if possible, the maximum amount of players is 16, with 8 on each side. Any amount and division lower than this is accepted. The minimum amount of players is 6, with 3 on each side. If the teams are uneven due to odd numbers, or if less than six players are playing the game then an NPC trainer may be enlisted and controlled by the other players on said NPC's team. Two temporary Skype groups must be created. One for the blue team and one for the red team. The GM is to be present in both teams. When it comes to their turn, a team will discuss the movements and actions they wish to make... they will then relay this information to the GM whom will update a man present on this thread for every game. Afterwards, the GM will do the same for the other team. Both teams will continue with this practice until the game ends. Depending on the size of the game, the length may greatly vary, as such if both teams are in agreement then the game may be paused and resumed at a later date. If a specific player has to leave mid-game, then their pokémon may and will be controlled as an NPC until they return or until the end of the game. If the GM must leave then the game is automatically paused. A turn can always be made by a team, if it is their turn and if more than fifty percent of the team is present. Doing so is the choice of the team members and whatever transactions come as a result lay on their heads. With these rules in mind the pace of the game is defined by the players, some games may last an hour or less, some may last weeks. It is up to the players and should they desire to, players may be in multiple games at once. I do hope you enjoy your tactical battles in Dúlran and I look forward to seeing some excellent results. Jay, Champion of the Dúlra region.~" Ahem... yes, well, whatever that means. I'm sure you know better than I. http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png And with that my fine rookies, your basic training is complete. There is nothing more I can teach you now and all that's left are the trials of combat. You are free to host practice matches whenever you please and I ask you kindly to not forget good 'ol Theo, your mentor and your friend. I'll be watching you out there! Show me what you're made of! Now go! May your battles bring prosperity and balance to the World! |
I've not looked quite as deeply into the rules as I should have perhaps, but I'm interested. You don't have an ambassador for Oceia around for nothing. xD

Yeah you can count me in too. This looks interesting.

An Alliance is Born!It was a sunny day in the oceans. It was something he loved, something he respected because Theseus is simply full of them. He understood its beauty and its dangers. He found true fascination by the way the waves softly crashed against the rocky beach, their curling fingers brushing each stone with a gentle caress as the wind ushered them gently towards the shore. The way the sun shone off the rippling water, its golden light warped in the twisted, glass waves. No description can truly capture its mysterious majesty, yet only a few words can express its beauty. He was Seven Abernathy, the Theseus Region's ambassador. Seven Abernathy has arrived! The Champion of Dúlra traveled to Mt. Dia. His general had informed him that while training the Dúlran armies new recruits, he had watched as a great tragedy took place. Screams echoed from the mountain and smoke rose from the volcanic Dia for the first time in years. It had once more become active... and now it was threatening to erupt. Theo, the general in question, had informed the Champion of his assumption that the screams that now rang louder and louder were simply the panic of the people. Those whom had gone to check on the massive rock structure now lamented and panicked in response to the impending threat. The stress was too much for the common Dúlran folk, first pokémon start to act up... the usually docile Dúlran wilderness had suddenly become a more dangerous place. A strange condition had been affecting a small portion of the wild pokémon, but not so much to be noticeable. Indeed, Dúlra hadn't had it as bad as some other locales. Perhaps it was due to their purity? The strength of the legendary pokémon protecting the region?... Surely not, an instance of Giratina itself intervening directly? Such wild ideas were usually idle fancy but now it seemed that as the result of a pandemic... Dúlras mostly unaffected state was a blessing to be thankful for. Yet still people panicked, still they worried, both for themselves and for friends and family living in the allied nations that Dúlra had grown to call "friend". The stress was building on the populace, and this volcanic anomaly was no exception. The Champion had thus made the decision to visit his people, visit the mountain and try to quell their worry long enough to figure out just what was going on. However, what he came to find was something much more dire and terrifying than even he could have prepared himself for. As he approached the mountain he found the charred remains. Humans and pokémon both burned to a crisp by a flame that was surely powerful enough to match the volcanoes wrath. Had Heatran finally decided to leave it's home? No... this fire was something else. It would have taken far more heat than even Heatran could muster to burn everything so finely and so quickly. He had to hurry. Urging the Beedrill by his side to move faster, He arrived at the foot of the mountain to find a massacre. The shadows of those whom had tried to escape were burned into the ground. There was no doubting it, only one creature could muster up fire so powerful to rival a supernova, only one living being in Dúlra was capable of that. "Entei." The beast stood before him and let out an anguished roar in response. The volcano standing behind the beast trembled in anticipation with every ounce of sound, as if waiting for the right octave... the right frequency of pain and rage to be uttered before the entire thing allowed itself to erupt. This was not the Entei he knew, the fire from it's body was overwhelming it, as if boosted by an outside force... something even stronger than Entei? It flowed around the legendary beast and almost seemed to burn it's own body to ash. The mystical fire Entei had once controlled was no longer his own... this dark beast had a different master and the Champion could see it dwelling there. An overwhelming mental presence exuded from Entei. The source? Those glowing red eyes. There was something else... an entity was placing it's influence over other pokémon, controlling them, loosing their inhibitions and driving them to hurt others with a dominance of pain. The reason... the reason Dúlra had as of yet been nigh unaffected. Had this been Entei's doing? The beast let out another ferocious roar and growled lowly at the Champion, but it did not attack. It was warning him, it was telling him to run. Telling him that this new power was too much, that he couldn't keep it under control. It was clear to the Champion in that instant. Entei had somehow been drawing all of this influence into itself... this petrifying darkness that took away the will to believe in oneself. Dúlra had had so few unaffected pokémon because every time this strange psychic influence struck, Entei had somehow managed to draw the majority of it into himself. He had slowly been sacrificing his mind to protect Dúlra, to protect the balance of that place... but even this Legendary pokémon had limits. After all this time and enough influence to enslave half a region... Entei's iron will had fallen. His body was no longer his own. And despite this, he was still trying to warn the Champion away. Another roar. The Volcano grew ever closer to overflowing entirely, blanketing Dúlra in a final fiery end. The Champion felt his heart lurch... the people now ash, the pokémon burned to nothing, the proud legendary whom had tested him so long ago... reduced to this, a killer, by some power so concentrated and bitter that he could now almost taste it. It threatened his home, it threatened his balance. He would not run away. Entei could hold back no longer, it's eyes welled with tears as it pulled back, blue and crimson flames both spewed from the pokémons mouth. It blanketed the area completely... the piercing hot fire engulfed the Champion and his surroundings obscuring him from view. When the smoke cleared, a single sphere of purple energy had somehow clocked the attack... and in that instance it cracked and exploded in turn. Emerging from the shards was what appeared to be a massive hornet, it stood alongside the Champion, whom had been safely protected by his friends Mega-Evolution. Dangling from his right hand was a locket, upon one side was a picture of a loved one now passed... and on the other was a glowing purple stone. The gem required for Mega-Evolution. "Entei... thank you. By taking this plague upon yourself, you have protected us all from so much." His eyes flared in anger and he threw his arm outwards, Beedrill pointed it's needles in anticipation of the great battle that was soon to commence. "And you... worthless cur whom would possess my friend. Plague my home! You have failed! Your essence pools into the beast before me... I can sense it in him! Your anguish, your pain... I know not your name nor circumstance. I care not for it. No pain you have can justify what your choices! Monster... you will harm the balance no longer!" With those words said, he ran forward, Beedrill flying ahead, it's razor sharp needles at the ready, knew exactly what move was required without it's trainer saying a word. Thus was the bond forged between partners in Dúlra. The two allies fought the corrupted legendary, their aim to free their home from this new darkness once and for all. Little did they know that with this movement, their troubles had only just begun. |

He had managed to weaken Entei severely, dodging it's powerful flames left and right and striking with Beedrill time after time. Entei's own body was worn and tired, yet still he was forced to stand. The once majestic creature had tears in its eyes as it roared once more, it's leg shaking and ready to collapse if not for the strange psychic presence holding him up and forcing to do such unthinkable things. The Champion had his resolve, but he could barely stand after such an incredible fight... had he had his other pokémon with him then perhaps things would have gone better. Rustling was heard from the trees and more pokémon with red eyes leaped forward. All of them shared the same pained expression that Entei had. This strange presence was actively channeling itself through Entei. If Entei were to be defeated then Dúlra would surely be freed... it seemed as if the psychic presence knew this... and was summoning reinforcements as a result. Unsheathing his ceremonial blade, the champion clutched his Mega Locket tightly and drove the blade into the ground, he pulled himself upwards. He couldn't give up not now... but alone what was he to do? He turned to his Beedrill, about to instruct the pokémon to fly, fly as fast as he could to get help... When Entei opened it's mouth and unleashed sacred fire once more. This was the end. *** The blaze was... stopped. How? Standing before the Champion was a powerful pokémon, yet familiar. A large Garchomp with a scar running across his left eye. "Sir!" He knew that voice. He turned to see his head General, Tíomaint, Theo for short, standing there at the ready. A platoon of troops standing behind him. Entei and the other controlled pokémon stood with a piercing glare, all more than ready to strike... though not at their own volition. Without another necessary word of exchange, the General helped the Champion to stand... and he roared, as if in response to all of those that Entei had previously released. "FOR DÚLRA!" The battle had begun anew, the victor would now be decided. The psychic presence, or the warriors of balance. http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjI2LjEzYTcxMS5SSFZsWVd4aElGTjBiM0o1SUVKaGRIUnNaU0F4T2csLC4w/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjI2LjEzYTcxMS5VMlYyWlhKcGJtY2dRMmhoYVc1ei4w/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png MISSION OBJECTIVE: - Defeat Shadow Entei! http://oi58.*.com/33jod9k.jpg http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/2-1.png Alright Rookies... this is it, no more training, no more games. It's now or never, we're fighting a powerful foe... but remember you've got me and the Champion by your side. If we work together we can do this! We can free Entei and save the region! Return to our families as heroes! Though I won't lie... there's also a strong chance we never see them again. This isn't Entei as he normally is... this is... something else. Something stronger. I won't blame you if you turn away from this... if you leave this battle and go back home. Nobody is going to mock you for not throwing yourself and your pokémon into this. But this is my home... and whether you're an ally of Dúlra or a native, then you have every right to call this place home too. I need at least three volunteers to stand with us today... if you wish to stand alongside us, then step forward and state your Name: Pokémon Partner: It seems that Entei and the other pokémon are fighting it, holding back until we've regrouped... but it won't last forever. Soldiers! To arms! May our battle bring glory and balance to the World! http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjI2LjEzYTcxMS5UWFFnUkdsaElGTm9iM2RrYjNkdS4wAAA,/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png Story Mode 1: Team Shadow Vs. I love fantasy / fan created things, and the Dulra region is one of the greats in my books
Name: Terrence Trainer Class: Cool Trainer Pokemon: Galvantula, Gyarados, Aegislash, Pidgeot, Magcargo Partner Pokemon: Honedge Additional Information: Terrence is a well known Actor in the Dulra region, his Pokemon all hold a special aspect of coolness, therefore he is usually casted in action movies, or movies with Tom Cruise. He sponsors all kinds of events in his home town, Cogadh City. Especially sporting events, and theatrical ones. He dedicates all his performances to his family. His parents, who own a bakery in Cogadh, and his brother who is a successful Pokeathlete, and his grandparents who always work hard on the farm in Fierme Prarie. He spends his free time training his Pokemon in Mt. Dia, and growing his bond with them, taking on any challenge, whether it be a battle or a role in a movie. He is very fond of the electric typing. He's learned how to work with them, especially since he sees them everywhere on set! If he were a gym leader, the electric typing would be the one to choose. One day, he hopes of befriending the legendary beast Raikou, and witness the power of the majestc lightning beast! |

Due to the high influx of export and import operations, Calafort is one of the few areas in Dúlra reminiscent of other regions. Cobblestone streets uncommon in the area, line the port walkways and many buildings line the roads. Most embassies unless placed for other more specific reasons, are asked to be located in the port city to avoid external influence to the more sacred inland areas and temples. In terms of aesthetic appeal the buildings are crafted from refined sandstone and marble harvested from the central desert, or thick basalt taken from the ground around Mt. Dia. Generally because of this, buildings to the West of the city take on a brighter and light appearance, while buildings to the East appear more dark and refined. Amusingly, those flying above the city will note it seems to resemble a misshapen game of chest from a top down perspective, though this has no influence on the people present in the city, nor their culture and friendship. It is simply a fun coincidence that nicely ties in with Dúlra's chief notion of balance. The ports in Dúlra are rarely ever busy, but this is the one location you are apt to find boats and vehicles as advanced as those in other regions, often bringing imports to the city as Dúlra prefer to move its goods by fleets of flying Pokémon. The Dúlra region does have it's own Navy, though this is comprised of sail ships rather than motor boats. They're the best and most water tight sail boats you'll find in the entire World of Pokécommunity... but they're still sail boats all the same. The embassy for the Oceia region is currently located here and is inhabited by the ambassador Angus Gestr. Calafort Cities gym leader is a young man named Seth, also leading a life as the head prosecutor of Calafort cities newest installment, a court house and law firm, he uses the steel type in battle. |

With the warm winds blowing from the Northern Desert and the cooler breezes coming from the Southern sea, the temperature is always just warm enough in the Summer and just cool enough in the Winter. However, the cities greatest and most well known feature is it's lack of roads and the flowers that bloom between buildings. With nothing connecting the structures of the city but the soft grassy plains of the area, the city of Rinne is known for being in touch with and grateful to the bountiful nature within which it is built. As if symbolizing this gratitude, the cities, and as a result, the Dúlra regions national flower is the beautiful, blooming Gracidea. Which always finds a way to bloom brightly once every season for a period of two days. So worshiped is this time in Rinne city that the "Seasonal Sky Festival" is held once every three months to celebrate the Gracidea's blooming... ...and to welcome the cities visitors. Shaymin whom are reverting to their land form after a season of flight will land in Rinne city in flocks and droves. They come to mingle with the pokémon and people of Rinne, enjoying the fun and atmosphere of the two day festival while the Gracidea flowers bloom. On the eve before the flowers shut their petals for another season however, each Shaymin will pick a single Gracidea from the ground and in doing so in unison... each Shaymin will produce a wonderful shimmering light. A light that overtakes the city as the small and mythic pokémon retake their sky form and take to the sky, sure to return to the city in a seasons time to enjoy the festival once more. Rinne City has no real export apart from the grain they farm. However, they make a large amount of income through tourism from out-regioners visiting Calafort city and taking a trip to Rinne. Many Gracidea made and inspired souvenirs are sold. Including a special floral head dress rumored to never wilt. While not native to the region, many products imported from the Thessali region based on the Budew, Roselia and Roserade line are available for purchase through the Thessali region embassy... where their ambassador has set up a shop. The gym leader from Rinne city, Lise, is a native of a different region entirely and also serves as the ambassador of said region. However Hoogland's embassy is yet to be built proper in the city, for now the gym serves as the embassy. Lise uses the grass type in battle. |
oh hey look
Name: Viesna Trainer Class: Wanderer / Aura Guardian Additional Information: Originally residing in her home city: Faoisimh, before she left. Viesna has dreams of seeing the Legendary Pokemon with her own eyes - she has no intention of befriending them, she thinks it is impossible for her, moreover, she prefers to only see them in flesh, to close the distance and touch - just a brush, for a moment. She thinks they are utterly ethereal, even having a glimpse would do well. (Even if she may think it is unsatisfactory) They are Legendaries for a reason. Viesna has a signature look: a monotone face&expression or always looking blankly disinterested. Sometimes, people think she always daydreams. Even so, it can be hard to know if she is listening or not. There is hardly, almost nothing that interests or excites her... except Legendaries. She is intellectual and will ask questions first before she takes steps unless she deems necessarily. Right now, she is one of the Aura Guardians, not many people know until she wears the customary armor. Viesna also has a pendant that is hidden, containing a certain kind of gem. Note: Her social skills are non-existent. Asking questions will make it awkward but will still ask. She may ignore a person attempting to socialize with her or deal with them as quick as possible (such as a denial or just a word to leave her alone). Some can say she's not honest with herself nor with others. Viesna has a crush on General Tíomaint (Theo, for short) and confuses her feelings with irritation. It's not really noticeable but it is easy to note that she gets more irritated when it comes to him for some reason. |

Experiencing roughly one to two hours of sunlight a day due to the way the day reaches the mouth of the grand cave, many dark and cave dwelling pokémon reside in the cave just outside the high built walls of the mostly torch lit city. As the first to be built centuries ago, the city of Crann is also the most militant in it's belief of balance. It refuses the use of all technology and the cities "official" pokémon centre and pokémart sit outside of the mouth of the grand cave. The only new structure allowed to exist within the massive stone cities walls is the gym. Which is designed to fit in with the old ways and is very particular about the trainers it accepts challenges from. The city is also thought to be the origin point of the old tale regarding Darkrai and Cresselia with many people believing that Darkrai itself was born from the shadows in the caves darkest depths... and that Cresselia was born from a piercing beam of moonlight that intruded upon the caves gloom. Whether this part of, or any of the legend for that matter, are true... is up to the readers interpretation. Darkrai and Cresselia have not been seen for many years and so many people have decided against putting faith in them or their old fairy tail... even those living their lives within Crann cities walls are known to have their doubts. Rarely accepting newcomers and even less frequently allowing immigrants to live in the city, the close minded nature inspires spite in some and intrigue in others. Some say that deep within the walls of Crann city is a vault filled with ancient information known only to the champion and a select few others... a clan as ancient as the human presence on Dúlra. The Mhac Suimhne's. Their name meaning "Sons of the Night" in the ancient tongue of Dúlra. The bloodline of these ninja-like warriors of shadow dwindles in the modern times. However they still do exist, and those few remnants that are present receive the utmost respect from every Dúlran... the citizens of Crann city being no exception. The gym leader of Crann city is Evienne, one such remnant of the Mhac Suimhne clan and a high ranking member within said order. She was hand chosen by the champion to serve the role in Crann, as in his eyes she was the most open minded among the Mhac Suimhne's... and thus the most suited to deal with the young trainers whom would undoubtedly come to challenge her. |

They say that this too translated into the Northern area of Dúlra known as "Gaol". In the ancient language this word refers to a prison, however it's synonymous nature extends to that which it sounds as as well. With the fierce winds rushing through the frozen atmosphere of the Gaol region... the name is all too fitting in this modern day and age. However this too is a monument to balance, without order, light and brightness... there can be no chaos, dark and shadow... but the same can be said in reverse. Gaol is a monument to that fact and as such even this area of Dúlra is inhabited. In the times of humanities incarnation it is said that they created a massive temple in this Northern region, to signify an allegiance to the almighty Arceus... while at the same time defying his will by moving to live in such a frozen and desolate wasteland. The temple is not so much a monument to the worship of a good... but more so a sign of respect and challenge to show a creator that we are capable of facing the elements he throws at us. The temple became the seat of power in Dúlra... with the king and his four council men residing in the temple as they ruled over the region together. However it was not to last, in a show of resentment almost, this temple did not stand up long to the elements. Despite it's massive size the humans were driven out due to their extremely primitive means of protection at the time. Thousands of years later, with the advent of the pokémon league, humans have returned to the location once more. The temple being as huge as it was and filled with so many rooms... it itself has been converted into a city. Temple wings become city sub-sections... rooms become homes, dining halls as super stores... while some rooms go through such new usage, some such as event halls and gathering points remain the same. The location is made incredibly unique by it's flawless adaptation of an urban populace into an ancient setting. Even the pokémon center and Dúlra's largest pokémart occupy the grand dining hall. However... despite all of this. There are five rooms that have remained all but completely untouched. The council rooms... and the throne room they connect to. The throne room is a massive and sprawling room... and at the end of it sits the Champion. Within the council rooms once sat the kings most trusted advisors... within them now await the elite 4. Indeed, the pokémon league of Dúlra exists in such a place and the only people allowed to enter these chambers are the elite four, the challengers of said... and the Champion himself. The first thing a trainer will be greeted with upon entering the throne room is the Champion sitting patiently at the end. He is known to make conversation with trainers before anything else... testing them in his own way before the true tests can begin. After this the trainer is free to choose from any of the four council rooms connecting to the throne room... each room has an elite four and after every subsequent battle the trainer must return to the throne room, where the champion still patiently awaits. For better or for worse a trainer must face the final goal of their test after each victory and failure... before throwing themselves into the next fight. Only if a trainer defeats all of the elite four in a row will the champion stand from the ancient throne and with a final word he will engage them in battle. What exactly happens when the Champion is defeated? It's a well kept secret... but some whisper things about a hidden room... and yet another, final challenge... awaiting behind the throne. |

Thank you for the compliments on the lore, I very much appreciate it. If there's one thing I strive for in Dúlra it's the continuation and ever growing detail of its stories and history, both that which is past and gone and that which is yet to happen. Regardless, Viesna is more than welcome in Dúlra. An inquisitive mind such as hers is perfect for the Nation of Purity and Balance. |
This looks super cool. What are the restrictions so far as foreigner/wander-y type trainers from more modern-tech regions and do they need to have Pokemon from this region?
|
Quote:
If the trainer in question is from Dúlra then they may have pokémon from Dúlra... or from any of the nations that Dúlra is currently allied with. (Oceia, Heiwa, etc.) These are the only restrictions. As long as you have a logical reason for having said pokémon then it's fair game. As far as technology is concerned, Dúlrans will have no problem with pokémon being kept in pokéballs if they were caught outside of the region. However if a trainer is caught attempting to capture a wild pokémon in Dúlra with a pokéball then it is not very appreciated at all. If a trainer befriends a pokémon and catches them in a pokéball on non-Dúlran soil, then there is no harm done. Dúlrans simply do not appreciate the use of such technology as potions and pokéballs in their homeland. I hope this answers all of your questions and I thank you graciously for your interest in the Dúlra region. Please feel free to ask any other questions that may become apparent. |
http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjI2LjEzYTcxMS5Vc096YzNSaElFTnBkSGssLjAAAAA,/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png http://i.imgur.com/lFE7na3.jpg Known by two names, the city of the blazing heat... and the city of the sheltered bond. Rósta is unique in the Dúlra region as it follows a different culture to the rest of the entire region. It is said that in the distant past that Dúlra had a sister region. A region that has long since sunk beneath the waves due to the battle between two colossal pokémon that shaped the World as we know it today. Remnants and survivors of the long lost city were scattered throughout the land. It is believed that in pity... a third ancient pokémon carried a select few to the skies above, while the great beast of water, the cause of this sister regions ancient flood, carried those it could save to the one place it knew they would be welcomed. And so beneath the ancient mountain of Dia, near the Eastern shore, the sea basin pokémon carried them to Dúlra. Always caring for it's brothers and sister in arms... the Dúlrans were more than happy to welcome the now dwindling culture of their now ruined allies into their home. This region, was known as the Kasai region... a word that when translated into the ancient language of Dúlra becomes "Rósta". Many centuries have passed since this time and the Kasai region is all but forgotten to the World. It's culture, descendants and belief however... still lives in Rósta City to this day. With a much more oriental culture and a different set of social norms many people believe that it's a miracle that Rósta can exist so safely amidst the rest of the Dúlra region. However, it is the shared belief in the balance of the World that tied the two regions of Dúlra and Kasai so tightly together in the ancient past that allows the now peaceful co-existence of two cultures in one to be present in Rósta. The building design is different in Rósta, rather than hard stone and ancient symbolism... a more elegant and sleek look is taken to further emulate the home now lost to the waves. Kimono and ornamental hairpieces are common clothing in Rósta... and the influence of their artistic design is what inspired the current armor and garb that is worn in "Dueala", the Dúlran army, to this day. With many outfits and protective garbs for pokémon and people alike being designed to represent the two cultures fighting as one. An ancient temple exists in Rósta that is rumored about in fairy tales. They say that a pokémon of pure darkness was brought to Rósta by a being of the brightest light. Alone and afraid... cast out without a home. The ancient Kasai people felt sympathy for the creature and created a temple that would ward away and protect the people from it's powers over nightmares... while also giving the pokémon a home to return to whenever it might become lost. It is said that true certain rituals... that that pokémon can be summoned from the darkness of that temple to this day. However, the techniques for doing such are lost to time... so the chances of summoning this pokémon of darkness are nigh impossible at best. But perhaps if it's home was threatened... that pokémon would rise up to protect the descendants of those people whom had protected him long ago. The descendants of those whom had given it a home. Rósta city currently does not have any gym leader, nor does it have an embassies or ambassadors from other regions. However it has stated on multiple occasions that it would welcome both and it is currently active in it's search for a fire type gym leader. In terms of embassies, Rósta would accept but is not openly searching for any. The city in itself serves as a monument to and an eternal embassy for the now vanishes Kasai region... in the faces and memories of it's people the city of Rósta believes, that Kasai will never truly be forgotten. |
I haven't made a character concept yet, but I have to say I love the way you've set this up and the amount of thought that's gone into this region's culture. It's fantastically written.

A strange and mysterious place, Dueala is known to be home to a strange electromagnetic mineral that can lift the ground around it skyward. The city of Cogadh is based heavily around this unique feature, with the city itself being built upon an island central to the bay that connects to the ocean... as well as the many floating rock structures and smaller islands that surround it. While bridges have been built to connect the smaller island, the floating islands are generally only reachable through the use of a flying pokémon and as such they tend to be less frequented. Due to being on Dueala, an island designed for fierce combat and training, the population here is very low. In fact, the only reason that Cogadh is considered a city at all is that it contains the connecting port through which all Dúlran ships pass, as a result it has a small population with frequenting tourists that was considered enough to merit the city status. A few small homes line the shores of the central island and serve as lodging to the modest population of Cogadh, however the cities most notable feature lies a bit further inland. The Arena. Used for mock strategy battles in Dueala occasionally... the arena is mostly used as a place for tournaments and occasionally pokémon contests using official league rules are carried out. Considered to be the current equivalent of a Dúlran "Battle Frontier", the Arena is an advanced location of strategic and competitive battle where the most skilled fighters of the region go to train their mind and tactics against others of a similar desire and skill. Only those trainers of four badges... or of higher status still... are allowed to even ride the boat to Dueala at all and as such the skill level present in the arena is considered above average. Occasionally, members of the Dúlran league such as Gym Leaders, Elite 4 members and occasionally even the champion himself are known to do battle here... and as such the arena often attracts many spectators to it's walls. Cogadh city is planned to hold the eight and final gym of the Dúlran league. However currently, no leader is present and the city is currently searching. Cogadh, due to being located on Dueala, is not accepting embassies nor ambassadors to stay in its confines... diplomacy simply isn't the order of the day in Cogadh or on Dueala as a whole. |

The natural energy that fuels all living things and exists as a conduit for all facets of life. All living things possess aura's deep in their spirit, from the smallest Caterpie to, some claim, even the planet itself. Every single thing of all scales and power that possesses life is said to be fueled by aura and every single one of these aura's is unique. There are some pokémon, most all of them legendary or mega-evolved, whom can channel this power, this aura so perfectly that it can be used as a physical constructs, powerful shields, imposing weapons and spheres of pure, unrestrained, essence of life and power. Despite this ability being linked to only a select few, there is a specific line of pokémon, a natural and common species that holds the ability to manifest aura on a whim. A pokémon that was the first known to manipulate aura spheres and constructs, a pokémon believed to be so in tune with the World and life itself that it could go toe to toe with legends and come out victorious. Though many of these feats are glorified to the point of a ridiculous nature... there is no doubt of this; Lucario is a very special pokémon. But what if I told you that Lucario was not the only common species that could manipulate aura? What if I told you that in very rare cases another common being on this World could manipulate aura to a Lucario's degree? Would you believe me? Would you believe me if I told you that it was the human race? It's true. In some rare cases humans are born with what Dúlrans believe to be the "Gift of Balance", a rare and powerful surge in their aura that allows them to be connected to the World in many ways. These individuals are granted great wisdom through their own spirits and in some cases can become as powerful as the pokémon whom travel alongside them. These individuals, whom have adopted the name "Aura Guardian" can achieve incredible strength by training their naturally potent and connected Aura's. When fully trained they are said to be able to communicate telepathically with their pokémon... they develop a sixth sense, warning them of danger moments before it strikes... and in some exceedingly rare cases they are thought to be capable of summoning aura constructs and spheres, just as a pokémon such as Lucario would. Scientifically speaking it is believed that humans, as all species, come from the genetic code of the Pokémon Mew, however due to a unique mutation humans have become the creatures we are today. However, in very rare cases due to a splice of genes and a counter mutation at birth... some people are believed to become an amalgamation of the original human being and the human race we know today. For this reason these humans can access incredible auric abilities attributed only to certain pokémon. Many scientists believe that due to our similar abilities that Lucario and Humans share many similar strands of DNA... however further study in to the topic has been cut off in most regions due to it being deemed unethical. In Dúlran history Aura Guardians are often revered and respected as keepers of the peace and protectors of the balance. Their unique amalgamation of humanity, auric manipulation and connection to pokémon and nature is seen as the grandest and most perfect representation of balance there is and many people believe that due to the mythical nature of Dúlra that it is here where the first humans awoke to their auric abilities and became the first Aura Guardians. The Aura Guardians themselves are known to serve as wandering protectors of peace. Using their abilities to protect all those whom are in danger, people and pokémon alike. Their presence is all but forgotten in many regions and even in Dúlra there are very few of note and many whom hide their abilities until they are needed. There are even unproven rumors that the Dúlran champion himself possesses such powers. However there is no major evidence to suggest this apart from his battle style, which is so rarely seen that it is unknown as to whether or not it even serves as a valid basis. The armor he wears DOES resemble that worn by an aura guardian... however many sets of Dúlran armor do, which serves as more evidence to suggest that the first Aura Guardians originated in the Dúlra region. In truth, anyone could have the gift... but those who do needn't follow the path of a protector. It is believed that when someone truly possesses the abilities of an Aura Guardian... that another guardian will find them and train them in their ways... however said ways are so protected that the details of this training are generally unknown. Other pokémon in Dúlra can occasionally be born with Auric Abilities... due to the regions strong connection to life and balance, pokémon other than the Lucario line can develop auric manipulation. These pokémon are known as "Auric Enhanced" and they often know a single Aura or Pulse based move that they wouldn't normally learn. They also possess a special ability not registered in pokédexes known as Strong Aura, which doubles the power of aura and pulse based moves. Often times Auric Enhanced pokémon are drawn to those whom have the potential to be Aura Guardians and as such most undiscovered Guardians may already have an Auric Enhanced pokémon without realizing it. Aura Guardians are also expected to always have an Auric Enhanced pokémon or a Lucario on their team... to assist in activities that require the channeling of aura. Indeed, perhaps even you have the gift, you simply don't know it yet... ----- From here on out in the Dúlra region, all currently joined members and all members to join in the future will be tested to see if they have "the gift". (In other words, you will be entered into a random number generator to test if you are gifted with aura.) If you are gifted then you will receive a PM saying as much... at which point you will be allowed to choose whether or not you will undertake the role of an Aura Guardian. You may choose to make your status as an Aura Guardian public to all... or you may keep it as a secret to yourself. You may of course also choose to refuse your gift and remain as a normal trainer. Once you become an Aura Guardian you may either receive a Lucario onto your team... or have one of you pokémon become aura enhanced, giving them the "Strong Aura" ability and allowing them to learn one "aura" or "pulse" move that they wouldn't normally learn. Lucario do not get this benefit, however a Lucario belonging to an Aura Guardian WILL have the "Strong Aura" ability. Aside from this Aura Guardians will have a more significant role to play in Dúlran events in the future, so here's hoping some of you are lucky enough to have the gift.~ |
Letter of alliance from Auria Greetings to the great Dulra region: On behalf of the prefects of the five provinces of Auria, we would like to accept your offer of friendship, and wish to forge an alliance between our two regions. We are both honored and proud that you have taken an interest in the Delta phenomenon, as it a staple of our region. Our Pokemon Professors have been studying it for decades, and while we still have yet to crack its mysteries, we believe it to be connected to the Four Temples and the great power that resides within them. Additionally worth noting, Delta Pokemon are said to be more common in areas with little to no human development, such as the northern ice plains and the deepest reaches of the many caves that dot the region. If there is anything you need assistance with, please contact Professor Spruce of Floacea Town, as her knowledge of Delta Pokemon is unmatched. We will also be appointing her as the primary advisor in all joint research efforts between our regions. Please also be advised that an extremist organization who operates within our region, one Team Void, is also pursuing the secrets behind the Delta phenomenon. While we do not know the true nature of what they hope to achieve, they do not have Auria’s best interests at heart. Please do take care not to let your findings end up in the wrong hands. Regarding your current war with the Sanctuare region, Auria is choosing not to get directly involved in this conflict. We wish you the best of luck however, and will aid and support you in any way we can. If there is anything you need, please do let us know. Thank you, and may this friendship strengthen our two nations for many years to come! Angelica, Head Secretary to the Senate of Auria |
Is it currently possible to challenge the Dulra gym leaders on Pokemon Showdown or such?

So I was bribed by Jay to be here.http://www.serebii.net/conquest/bushou/28-2.png Weiss Schwarz Ghost Gym Leader Pokemon: Doublade (Reaper ), Cofagrigus (Osiris ), Gengar (Kage ), Sableye (Gemma ), Froslass* (Kanna ). Weiss is a rebel; she despises conformity and always finds ways to be a deviant from the crowd. As a gym leader in Dulra, she faces a lot of criticism about her conduct and morality, especially her inclinations towards women. To many, she's seen as offensive, ego-centric and bitchy. However horrible people may paint her out to be, 'hypocrite' is not a word associated with her. On the contrary, she enjoys calling out people's hypocrisy and stripping down their facades. She doesn't care if they feel uncomfortable or intruded; she prefers a world of bared bones and no skin to hide behind. It's probably why she loves Ghost pokemon as they're able to infiltrate the layers that the living build and perceive the soul for what they truly are. * First pokemon |
Hey, funny thing, I was bribed as well.
Name: Celina Trainer Class: Gym Leader Pokémon: Milotic, Gyarados, Azumarill, Kingdra, Vaporeon, Greninja First Pokémon (Partner): Feebas & Magikarp Additional Information: She hails from Loch City herself, and met her Feebas and Magikarp on a visit to the lake located in Loch City. When it was time, she decided to travel across Dulra, meeting new friends as she tries to overcome the challenge that is her two partners’ lack of power. Her constant trials and errors has taught her a lot, and even though she started from a couple of the weakest water-type Pokemon, she rose up to become the current gym leader of Loch City. Her poise is as elegant as a Milotic, yet her abilities are as strong as a Gyarados, and her partners knew it well. |

The actors are set and the story can truly begin. The chronicles of Dúlra is an interactive story experience set in Dúlra and other locations in the WOPC. It stars a handful of Dúlra NPCs that are currently introduced and aims to introduce more characters and lore along the way. The story follows the current affairs of Dúlra and actions that take place in The Chronicles of Dúlra will heavily influence various aspects of the region, including it's relations with other regions, it's current status and perhaps even its very beliefs. "But Deceptio what makes this story interactive? I hear the members of Dúlra ask me this and I respond in kind. By making decisions in the style of a choose your own adventure book, you can influence the outcome of the story and have direct influence on what happens next. At the end of each post relating to The Chronicles of Dúlra a decision will be presented, a decision that I will have no impact on. Members of the region will be granted the right to vote on the issues presented and the option that receives the most votes will become the canon events that take place in Dúlra. The future of the region could go in a miriad of different ways depending on the decisions made by the members present. So what? It's a glorified choose your own adventure book? That might sound fun to some on it's own, but their is much more to The Chronicles of Dúlra than just this. As member of Dúlra your own characters will be affected by the events of the story and on some occasions your characters will even be directly involved. Trainers could change title... situations could be altered... new gym leaders might rise to power... the E4 may be chosen... and power may be lost or gained depending on the way the story flows. Characters may find themselves involved in the story in more ways than they originally expect, however for now the extra details will be left as a surprise to all. But still there's more... the characters that enter and move through the story are all people and thus they all have stories and matters of intrigue all their own. Making the correct decision may hinge on how well you know the characters, so how do you gather more information? Well how else than through asking questions directly? That's right, you have every right to question each and every NPC character present in the The Chronicles of Dúlra, though depending on the relationship your own character shares with them... it may be more difficult than it seems. If you feel like you want to know more about a characters ambitions then it's simple what you do. Send a PM to me, Deceptio, with the subject marked as; "NPC Question: [Character Name Here]" ...and said NPC will send a message in response with their answer, or lack of answer. You may do this as often as you like as the story progresses and interacting with and getting to know different characters individually may provide useful insight and untold effects on the story. The first Arc of the story begins soon, so be sure to participate and debate over which option should be chosen. The effects of even the smallest little decision can unfold into a region changing effect. With mysteries to be solved, adventures to be undertaken and battles to be won... The Chronicles of Dúlra are set to begin. |

He had a few things to do today... all of them were very important. He sighed gently, he was proud to have his job but it did tire him out at times. A gentle snoring came from the space to his front as his Lucario snored lazily in the seat across from him. The pokémon was known for taking naps throughout the day, but this was ridiculous considering that they had both woken up not two hours beforehand. Outside the closed window, Durahan heard his beedrill, it buzzed around powerfully and sharpened its spines on the training dummies it struck... his two partners certainly had various personalities. His was being awfully quiet on the desk immediately behind him, which was very unusual for her. He had to wonder why, but he had too much on his mind to even look over. He glanced gently at his desk, there was a letter there from an unknown sender, very unusual. As the Champion it was rare to get unsolicited mail, the wax emblem sealing it was unusually familiar however... so he had to wonder if it held some special meaning. Arceus above it would waste time but he knew that if he didn't find out the source of that familiar feeling that it would nag at him. But he still had to read and reply to the letter as well... so searching through old books to find an answer mightn't be so prudent. If that wasn't bad enough, he had a meeting to attend with his generals in a few moments... he was often late of course, but he had promised this Tíomaint that this time he would arrive on with a punctual disclosure. The young, but trusted general had claimed to have important information to share with Durahan, which inspired the drive to fulfil his promise further... However he HAD broken that promise before and he DID have other things to do... hrmmm... Regardless of what he decided to do, he knew that he would only be able to fit in one of these activities for the morning. But what to choose... He sighed, he supposed it would have to be; Decision time, get ready to vote: How should The Champion spend his morning? - Investigate the origins of the strange wax seal in the library. - Read and reply to the mysterious letter. - Meet with General Tíomaint and learn of his news. You can ask the following NPC's questions at this point in time: Durahan, Champion of Dúlra Tíomaint, Head General of Dúlra |
"I vote for 'Meet with General Tíomaint and learn of his news'... so I may have the General off my hide and return to my studies, I have already mastered my training for today. If I had voted for the other options then I may have suffer through the General's temper. No, thank you." |
I also think the the Champion should meet with the General. The letter could be important, but if it was time pertinent information it wouldn't have been sent in a letter, probably. So meeting with the General it is.

The Lucario Darilan took in a breath as he took his first steps onto Dulran soil, his eyes quietly scanning over Calafort city. This town, the most advanced of Dulra's cities by far, seemed nothing short of pitifully primitive compared to the average Cerian city. For the duration of his stay here, he'd be bereft of all of the conveniences of his more modern society. This would no doubt prove to be an interesting experience. On his left was the human Daltom, a short, lean man clad in Kevlar with a strange pistol of Cerian make holstered at his side. On his right was the Azumarill Saevi, notable for her dark fur. A small, black satchel was fitted to her round form. Both held serious decorum as they walked respectfully behind the Lucario. Darilan gave a single, meaningful nod to the men sent to greet him. He raised his left arm and a wrist-mounted computer flipped open, its input specially designed to suit a Lucario's paws. He typed quickly and skillfully for his biology, and a computerized voice emanated seamlessly from the device. "Thank you for your hospitality," the machine said in crisp monotone. A smile tugged at the edges of Darilan's muzzle at the look of his greeters' surprise. "I look forward to learning more of your culture." Ambassador Darilan, Bodyguard Daltom, and Bodyguard Saevi have arrived! |
My vote: Glance over the letter, get a quick concept of if it contains anything important, and then go to the meeting. Glancing at the contents for an idea of what it's about will only take a few moments. Do it on the way to the meeting. Letters are remarkably portable. |
I'm s sucker for research and want to say investigate that wax seal, but efficiency calls, so we must ride on the winds. See General Tiomaint and update ourselves post-haste.

An object in the sky?" Standing in a hallway near the entrance to the temple, illuminated by light filtering in through pillars... The champion rose an eyebrow to his news. What in Dúlra was Tiomaint talking about? He called him to discuss what was presumed to be a serious matter and this is what he got in return? Some random nonsense about a floating object? "I'm busy today Theo, floating rocks aren't exactly uncommon on Dueala correct? Why is this an issue at all?" Tíomaint cringed gently as he tried to explain and Durahan listened intently, whatever this was it seemed to be important to the general. Unbeknownst to most, Tíomaint and The Champion were the same age and had actually both grown up, together, in Rinne city. Friends since their younger years, Durahan could tell when Theo was troubled and he noticed that not he was deeply so. "Sir..." Theo began, gripping his hands into fists with frustration. "This wasn't like anything we've ever seen before. It wasn't just an ordinary rock... look, lemme recap. A squadron of us were flying through the air in the waters between Dueala and Dúlra... nothing serious, just the regular Pidgeot patrol... and that's when we saw that strange stone..." The Champion crossed his arms and rose an eyebrow. Clearly not convinced that this wasn't just another loose stone floating away from the unique magnetic rocks in Cogadh city. "It was carved sir, it looked like letter of the unknown from a distance but we couldn't tell for certain... the shape was that of a strange tablet, but that's not the weirdest part. It had a strange energy around it... like an aura but different." Finally The Champions eyebrows rose. With one sentence the situation had gone from passable to intriguing. He responded with genuine intrigue. "Different how?" Theo frowned for a moment, as if looking for the words to explain. "It felt... stronger, like that single piece of rock held the aura of countless creatures in itself, it was so palpable we could see it. The tablet itself was surrounded by a pink glow. We tried to approach it, to reach out to it, but when we did it just... vanished." Durahan pursed his brow and frowned. This was incredibly strange, not just a lump of rock but a carved tablet? Seemingly perfectly formed and floating idly around the skies of Dúlra? It was buzzing with something similar to aura, yet the aura was so undeniably powerful that it almost seemed to belong to countless numbers of creatures at once. So strong was this aura that it could be seen... Theo was an aura guardian, meaning he could sense aura if he concentrated... but from how the general described it it almost seemed like that the tablets aura was strong enough to physically manifest so that he and his squadron of non aura-guardians could just... SEE it. This was highly unusual... maybe even impossible unless the aura was being channeled by the tablet purposefully. But it was a stone, how could it? How could it have an aura at all unless it was... alive? Theo was right to be so disturbed... but Durahan himself couldn't check it with his schedule, there was still that letter to attend to. "Tíomaint... you were right to inform me of this..." He said somberly. "But I haven't the time to check into this matter personally." "Do you know what's going on sir?" Theo had a slight furrow in his brow, expressing his worry quite eloquently, it only furrowed further as The Champion shook his head. "I'm afraid I do not... in fact, I have no idea whatsoever. Which is why I'd like you to look personally into this regard. Question the sky patrol men about anything and everything they have experienced, especially any strange happenings. If we can get more information about the goings on in the sky then we may come closer to solving this problem." Bowing briefly and holding an arm across his chest, Tíomaint diligently nodded before turning to go about his duties. The Champion, a slight worry on his mind, turned the opposite way to return to his office. Decision time, get ready to vote: Whom should the story follow now? - Tíomaint, as he gather information about the floating object in Dúlra's skies. - Champion Durahan, as he returns to his office and sets about investigating the letter. The title of "King" is not smiled upon in Dúlra at all. In the past they had a King, however said King is now called the "Champion" and serves as an overall ruler to the Dúlra region as well as head of the pokémon league there. Whether he is a king or not, the title or nickname of king would be an unpopular choice for Dúlra and thus I request this be changed. Should you change the backstory for the character then I will be happy to something more suitable, then I will be happy to let you join. |
Oh. Never knew that. I edited it. Is it okay now?
|
"Voting for 'Champion Durahan, as he returns to his office and sets about investigating the letter.' As for the reason why: I do want to research about the floating object... however, I find myself getting curious about the letter, its continents may have some importance that is needed to be dealt with as fast as possible. Apart from that, the suspicious object seems to be docile and has not cause harm... yet. Hm... How troubling." |
I find both situations truly intriguing. Yes, I do.
But for now I shall vote for "Champion Durahan, as he returns to his office and sets about investigating the letter." as I want to know what secret is hidden underneath the mysterious letter. |
Follow Durahan. Let's find out what this other mystery has to offer. |
http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjMyLjEzYTcxMS5WR2hsSUVOb2NtOXVhV05zWlhNZ2IyWWdSTU82YkhKaC4w/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts.net/txt/b3RmLjI2LjEzYTcxMS5RV04wSURFZ0xTQlNaWFZ1YVc5dUlDMGdVR0Z5ZENBei4w/geoma-thin-demo.regular.png It had started to rain outside... Durahan hoped that Beedrill had decided to come inside. He wouldn't want him to get sick. Durahan enters his office peacefully, he had a certain grace about him at all times... a certain elegance. It was quite a desirable quality to many while other viewed it as a weakness. He himself however, did not seem to care much for his social habits. You see, Durahan was the type of fellow who valued his business... he was good at what he did and he didn't care much for what the World thought of that. His priority was maintaining balance and protecting the people of Dúlra, however his dedication lead to a rather interesting type of personality... one oblivious to many slight and friendly social norms. The emotions and inner workings of the girl in front of him being a prime example. Little Miss Allia was a young sixteen years old to his twenty-four. She was a teenage girl and for some reason she was his secretary. He had only bothered to give her the job on the merit that she was Theo's cousin... and that she apparently was very good at his job. Durahan did have to admit that she was indeed a talented file keeper... but the girl was so damned lazy that he rarely got to see her in action. If that wasn't bad enough... she had this odd mannerism about her, whenever he tried to have a direct conversation with the girl she got so very flustered. Was it because he was the Champion? Had the effect of his title not worn off after the two months she had known him? Regardless of how she acted, she was still snoring and sleeping there on her desk... snoring and wasting the day away. She had bought these horrible gaudy trinkets imported to Dúlra in Calafort. A pair of feathered wings and a long black tail which she had tied a ribbon similar to those from her hair into. It was all fake and completely useless really. So he had to wonder why she bothered to wear it at all, she had called it something like "PosClay"? "CosDay?" "MossParade?" he hadn't payed it much head so he didn't remember. Sitting down on his chair he gripped a pen and piece of paper and took a second to remember what he was actually doing. He would need these to write a reply to the letter... but he'd have to read it first of course. He was quite... scatterbrained as always. Still... Reaching back with the pointed pen he gently poked the cold metal tip into Allia's shoulder, causing the girl to jump awake with a start as he smirked with a slight bemusement. "Ahh? Finally awake are we? I worried you'd never awaken." Turning quickly, flustered, startled and still somewhat drowsy from her sudden awakening, Allia's face turned a bright red as she saw the Champions smirk and took a few seconds to comprehend his words. "W-were you watching me sleep?! What time is it...?" The Champion, his smirk returning to a daydreaming and oblivious expression, held the letter gently in his hands before answering. "Watching you? Not at all. In fact I've already been to a meeting and back... you do snore rather loudly however." Allia started burning up with embarrassment as she covered her face with her hands. "You heard me snore... was I that bad?! Oh Arceus why... why did he have to hear me do that..." She continued mumbling to himself, but Durahan was no longer paying attention. He gently pried the wax seal away from the letter and held it in his hand momentarily. It was so peculiarly familiar... but why? He swore he recognized it from somewhere... yet there was no time for decision now. He had to read this letter, business came before personal introgue. ...and yet... Durahan poked her shoulder again to make her stop mumbling and look up before he tossed the wax seal into the teenage girls hands. "E-eh...? What's this? It's warm..." She stammered, still a little woozy. "Allia, I need you to take that to the library... and discover for me the region that its emblem relates to." As Durahan spoke he looked at the seal one last time. The wax seal in her hands seemed to hold the semblance of a blazing fire held above the clouds. There was something familiar about it even now... yet for some reason it also looked new. How strange. Allia seemed a little distracted before shaking her head and jumping from her seat resolutely. The wax seal held between her index finger and thumb by the edge, to minimize melting. "Y-yes sir! Champion! Durahan! Sir! I'll go at once!" Before saying anything else, the girl still red in the face rushed out the door. Moments later and confused and drowsy looking Marill waltzed out from under Allia's desk, rubbed the sleep from its eyes and looked around for a minute before jumping up in panic and dashing for the door after its partner, squealing in protest as it did. Durahan, at long last, opened the letter after a chuckle. But his expression immediately turned somber as he read the contents. Despite the official nature of the letter the contents were scrawled without a care, the penmanship was rushed as if the writer didn't really have the time for that sort of thing... however it was what the letter said that shocked him the most. "You've got a sweet gig goin' here, dontcha Mr. Champion? Listen up, I've got a bone to pick with you an' your region. You meet me, Northern edge of the desert, as soon as possible. I wanna see just what your balance has gotten you. You better come. I can't guarantee the safety of some innocent folk 'round here if it ain't you specifically. See you then, Champ. ~ Somethin' like an old friend. What?... Was this a threat? Durahan stood from his desk so quickly that it startled his still sleeping Lucario awake, which proceeded to give him a worried look. Was this individual... aiming to harm his citizens? Were they going to hurt innocent people? He couldn't let that happen. This person referred to themselves as an old friend. The insignia? Was it a former ally of Dúlra? An old enemy come back from the grave to hurt them? He had to find out the truth of whom this individual was to ascertain the threat... but what if the writer was getting impatient? What if they were hurting his people right then and there? If he hurried after Allia then he might get his info sooner... But could he really afford to take that risk? He had to decide. Decision time, get ready to vote: What should Durahan do? - Follow after Allia and try to find the truth behind the insignia as soon as possible. - There's no time to waste. Go to the Northern edge of Scalladh Desert and confront the writer of the letter. You can ask the following NPC's questions at this point in time: http://i.imgur.com/9GKMSFp.jpg Durahan, Champion of Dúlra --- http://i.imgur.com/S4Z6sjD.png Tíomaint, Head General of Dúlra --- http://i.imgur.com/5vImGIw.png Allia, Secretary to the Champion |
FINALLY UPDATED VIESNA. <333
|
Better go visit that writer. Sounds like a threat to me and the possibility of perilous consequences should we not meet.
|
"I think it's important to keep a cool head in this situation. It doesn't sound like there is any immediate danger, provided you meet with him soon. Before diving headfirst into a confrontation, it's best to learn as much as possible about this mysterious sender. You should follow after Allia and try to find the truth behind the insignia as soon as possible." |
Seconded, follow after Allia and try to find the truth behind the insignia as soon as possible. |
"(General is very irritating even as I ask questions... mhp.) ...I have been struggling to make a decision. I do want the Champion to meet this so called 'friend', lest they go with their threat. Yet. There is a high probability of an ambush. The Champion is strong, however, can they keep on going if there is a chance they have multiple reinforcement? They may have researched our Champion's strength to form a plan... ...I vote for 'Follow after Allia and try to find the truth behind the insignia as soon as possible.'. There will be risks if I chose the other option, there is little information to go by, the insignia may provide a hint. I know there may be chances of the secretary finding no answer, however, I have faith. I hope that I made a right decision. I may never bring myself to face my General if something happens to his long-time friend... no matter how irritating I feel about him." |
I agree with the reasoning so far. Rushing than into an unknown situation with an unknown threat, we should at least eliminate a few of the unknown factors and learn about the seal. So I vote to follow Allia.
|
Knowing the enemy is important. And thus, I vote to follow Allia.

Durahan had been running for hours, his aura allowed him to keep his stamina up for extended periods of time... but a trek such as this was taking its toll even on him. However, he could let nobody else know of this mission... not even his trusted pokémon. He thought carefully as he ran, the Northern edge of Scalladh Desert grew ever closer. Despite the advice from the others he had chosen to go to meet with the writer immediately. Why? Because he had realized with the help of Lise and her questioning just who the seal belonged to. The region of Kasai. In the ancient past Kasai had been the sister nation of Dúlra, however due to a devastating event the region sunk beneath the waves and the remnants of the civilization were thought to have come together to form the city of Rósta right there in Dúlra. The Dúlra region had thought they had saved all the survivors... but for someone to send him a letter sealed with the symbol of Kasai? Could it be possible that there were still traces of ancient Kasai left standing? Had there been more survivors still? If that was the case... then why? Why would a member of Kasai send such an ominous letter to the Champion of their most ancient ally? Durahan had to find out. The night had taken over the sky... and the moon beamed down it's pale white light to cover the area. It was all but dark otherwise. As Durahan neared the edge of the Northern Desert however, he saw yet another light... a burning flame crossing the ground... and a young man standing in front of it. The sand before him glistened as it merged and cleared in the flame, forming into glass. A cigarette was flicked onto the ground as the young man placed his broadsword upon his shoulder. He spoke, as if he sensed the Champion approaching behind him "Are ya surprised? Look at this? No death, no destruction. Only a little bit of fire. I didn't even hurt nobody." Durahan gripped the hilt of his sword as he approached, unsure of the mans intentions. It was very rare to see another swordsman in this world of pokémon, but if this individual was truly descended from Kasai then perhaps it made too much sense. "I wouldn't have suspected a noble of the Kasai region to harm innocents." The man scoffed and turned, his eyes were a deep brown and his hair matched, a long pony tail flowed out behind him and his fringe was loosely tamed by a red headband. He wore a metal belt buckle around his waste... the word "Free" was hastily etched into it. He held the sword tightly in his hand and lowered it to the ground. "Already got me figured out do ya? Seems like I need to give you balance bashers more credit of intelligence." Durahan rose an eyebrow and drew his blade. "Excuse me?" The stranger took a battle ready stance, the edge of his blade aimed outward and his brow narrowed. "You didn't hear me? Maybe you're stupid after all, you're tossing me up and down with an emotional rollercoaster Durahan. Now I'll put it plain and simple... I'm here to eradicate you and your ideals of balance from the World. Following your damn order is a quick way to death and nothing else... so I'll strike you down as the source and adapt your people one by one. Does that seem fair enough to you?" Durahan swiped his blade through the air and his eyes flared blue. "Who on Earth are you to say those things to me?! A Champion?! If you dare to threaten the order and people of this region then you are an enemy... both to Dúlra AND Kasai!" The other man growled in a menacing tone and stomped ferociously on the ground. "You think you can speak about us? About my home? You're delusional! Your balance, your ideals are the reason we almost died... the natural order tried to wipe us out and yet we thrived! We don't need your "balance"! Not anymore!" Durahan closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself before holding his blade outwards, the white blade gave a gentle shimmer in the moonlight as Durahan poised it into a dueling stance. "We'll see about that." With a grunt of acceptance the man held his blade loosely yet with a strange sense of authority. He seemed more than ready to fight against Durahan at full force and he charged forward with an almost scary sense of anticipation in his eyes. "Haha! Ready to go already?! I expected more resistance! Very well Champion! Shinnen of Kasai accepts your challenge!" The man known as Shinnen lunged and swung his blade down with force strong enough to pierce deep into the sandy ground below. Predicting the early attack however, Durahan had sidestepped and spun, swinging his blade in a clockwise arc to strike at his opponents side. Shinnen however showed a great sense of speed as well as power, pulling it from the ground and angling it on a dime, he blocked the attack with the thick side of the heavy metal broadsword he carried. Staggered slightly, Durahan was faster still as he began unleashing a flurry of attacks upon his opponent, the more he fought the more passion flowed into his blade... his aura flared onto the blade as it took on a blue glow. "Shinnen? A Kasain name for certain... but your attitude is anything but noble! You come to MY home! Make false threats to MY people... and challenge me to a duel on MY turf... and why?! Because you want to erase the ideals of we as Dúlrans?! You WILL stop this! Now!" Shinnen's eyes flared as he gritted his teeth to every word, he moved his blade as fast as he could, blocking every strike bar one, the final blow slipped past his defense and sliced against his cheek, drawing blood. In a rageful counter, Shinnen raised his knee and kicked harshly forward, knocking Durahan back a significant amount. Holding his weapon high Shinnen let out an aggressive roar and a flowing red energy engulfed his massive blade. Durahan's eyes widened... it couldn't have been... was this man an Aura Guardian?! Before the thought could be processed, Durahan had to leap to the side as once again Shinnen leaped forward, his sword sliced left, then right, up and down in a slew of powerful attacks with a window in between just a second too small for Durahan to counter. "Hypocritical... piece of... Rapidash dung! What makes you think you have the right to give me orders?! YOUR people abandoned mine in the past, you saved those who drifted ashore, only for the rest of us to be left to the hands of fate... danger or no you and your kind should have tried harder to save us back then! But no! You left us to balance! You left us to fate! The World wanted us DEAD and you were ready to ACCEPT THAT!" As Shinnen swung again, Durahan rose his blade to block and was knocked backwards by the impact, his feet dragged against the sand as he landed and barely stood upright. Both men's aura's were flaring violently and their blades were almost comparable to coloured vessels of light. They were both filled with passion and neither was prepared to accept that they were wrong. "I will not take responsibility for the actions of my ancestors. We did our best to save the people of Kasai when it sunk to the bottom of the ocean..." "I've no beef with you or yours... but abiding by balance so carefully will only lead to you and your people's deaths... I ain't going to let your beliefs throw another bunch of folks into ruin." Flaring further with energy, the two men poised themselves and charged forward, with all of their might channeled into a single swing, they clashed their blades and froze solid in place as the energy around them dispersed as a powerful shockwave that shot outwards from their dual attack. A wave of power pierced the sky, swept across the sand and burrowed deep into the ground to the ear piercing sound of clanging metal. Both men were immovable forces as the slight grinding sound of blade on blade continued for the moments to follow, there was only this as they both pushed forward, determined to break the others stance... when suddenly... The ground began to crack and crumble. Before either man could react, the sandy ground beneath their feet broke away to an almost abyssal chasm, with no floor to stand on the men's blades released their grip and they flailed in shock as they fell. Their quick and solid cries pierced the night sky as they disappeared into nothing... ...and there was silence. No trace of the battle even remained outside of the massive, gaping chasm that had proven the victor over both warriors. The subtle scuttling of pokémon would breach the ear and the moonlight gently hummed down. From the darkness below, neither Durahan nor Shinnen could be heard nor seen. Decision time, get ready to vote: There... are no options. Quote:

Trainer Class: Eccentric Pokémon: Golurk & Sableye First Pokémon (Partner): Golurk - has been their guardian since they were born. Additional Information: Sorley's a weirdo, man. They're like, bold and constantly talking and have next to no filter. They're super chummy and see everyone as a friend, even if the other person has never met Sorley. Champion Durahan? Nah, it's Duzza to Sorley. General Tiomáint? Teddy, for sure. One person they have actually encountered is Viesna (Vez), who gets randomly dropped in on once in a while, caught up in a bit of a whirlwind, and left completely overwhelmed when Sorley gets bored and has Golurk blast them out of town with its rocket feet. Sorley is also agender, preferring they/them pronouns. And they like neat hats. |

For the most part, his pokemon resemble him. All of his pokemon (with the exception of Nuzleaf) are extremely derpy and somewhat unintelligent. Nuzleaf (nicknamed Naruto) on the other hand, is considered a genius pokemon. She is an expert in battle strategies and is often carries the team in battles. Even though Naruto's trainer is a derp, she and the rest of Bidiya' team are loyal and care for him just as much as Bidaya cares for them. |
All of you lovely people have been accepted.~ Welcome to Dúlra!

He worried after the Champion, he had felt an insurmountable surge of aura mere moments before he had set off into the night, he had almost passed it off as his imagination, but his fellow aura guardians had felt it as well... Durahan was nowhere to be found in the temple either, fairly unusual for such a late hour. In a fit of worry, Theo had entered into his superiors office without permission and looked over the letter which he had been told about earlier during he and Durahans meeting. As he feared, it was a direct challenge... and Durahan had gone alone. Flying in the air directly above him was Durahans Beedrill, whom had left about the same time as Theo and Garchomp. Durahan's beedrill was Aura enchanced and had almost certainly sensed the massive surge in auric energy. The desert was in sight now, the entrance was there as he remembered... or at least parts of it were. A huge crater now stood where none had before. A huge hole that seemed to descend into an untold darkness. Was such a massive open space really underneath the desert ground? Theo had no idea and he didn't care. Could it be that Durahan was down there?! Had the Champion wandered into a trap?! Damn it, he didn't know. What if he was hurt!? Theo hopped from Garchomp and wandered to the edge of the drop, he called out into the darkness. He cried Durahan's name, but there was no response. How did he even know that Durahan was in there? He could just as easily been gone elsewhere... or worse... dead. However, Beedrill took charge, he circled over the darkness... hesitant to go in but he buzzed above it incessantly, as if begging it be investigated further. Could this pokémon sense its partners presence? Theo still could not be certain. In anger he kicked worthlessly at the sand. He kept trying to think of other possibilities... but in the end he too knew that Durahan was down there. Something in his heart screamed that to him. But what could Theo do? Was he going to lose yet another friend? His BEST friend?! "Kicking at sand won't solve any problems, Tíomaint." Theo turned around to see that another person stood behind him. He recognized this woman, he had known her for many years and even know her beauty was as radiant as the authority that rang in her voice. Her long red hair flowed casually behind her and her dark armor, she had a golden blade clutched in her hand... swords were customarily carried by the Elite four and other high ranking members of Dúlran society. Theo preferred his bare hands, honestly, but he knew that this woman was no exception to the rule. Known as the strongest female swordswoman in Dúlra and featuring in the dreams of many men and women for her elegance, strength and beauty. This lade was no joke and Theo knew it. As she spent so much time around the home of her favourite type, the general couldn't say he was surprised to see her here. "Lady Talia Cruinne... ground type elite four of Dúlra. I should have known that if the desert was concerned you'd show your face." Theo said with slight dejection at her condescending tone. Her face bore an ever serious expression that the twenty-five year old was known for in her position as elite four. She didn't take any nonsense from anyone, not even her superiors... Theo apparently included. She spoke with an extremely dignified and forward tone, a voice that was always ready to question, to pursue and to doubt until the truth was revealed and her way was gotten. With a brow furrowed just enough to show severe understanding, but not so far that t displayed arrogance, the young woman responded. "Someone has to take responsibility for what happened here. The Champion almost took out an entire ecosystem with he and that newcomers shenanigans." Theo's eyes widened and he almost shouted a reply. "You saw the Champion?! Is he alright?! What happened?!" Talia winced gently and held up a gauntlet covered hand in order to shush Tíomaint. Her eyes narrowed again and she began to retell to Theo the events of Durahan and Shinnen's fight, which she had viewed from a safe distance behind a sand dune . Everything was told from the conversation they had to the strike that sent out the ripple of aura and collapsed the ground. Theo took a few moments to process the information before holding his forehead in frustration and shouting back at Talia, asking her why she didn't intervene and why she didn't help the Champion in his time of need. Talia simply shrugged and frowned in annoyance at the man whom, Theo could tell, she found loud and obnoxious. "That man, Shinnen, he had auric power enough to rival that of the Champion... my pokémon were too far away to assist me... I would have been nothing but a hindrance to Durahan." Theo took a deep breath and turned to the hole. So Durahan and this Shinnen guy were both down there? Damn it all... what if Durahan was hurt or injured or... or something worse. He wouldn't leave his friend down there with some terrorist claiming to be from an ancient, dead region! "How are we getting down there?! Tíomain asked the question plainly and Talia could do nothing but raise an eyebrow in slight surprise. "How are we-... you want to go down there? There are places under this desert that have been left undisturbed for a reason." Theo nodded gently and showed a resolve in his eyes. He wasn't about to lose Durahan so soon after he had lost someone else. "I'm going at least. I won't expect you to come if you don't want to." Talia just smiled and stood beside Theo, glancing into the darkness below. There was something unnerving about it, something that just oozed a sort of negativity... as if it was somewhere that they as humans, were never meant to go. "The Pidgeot's are already on their way." ~~~ Meanwhile... deep within the newly created chasm two men found themselves surrounded by an all but impenetrable darkness. Driving a massive sword into the ground, one of them found the strength to pull themselves upright, to regain a conscious state and to try to make sense of their situation. That man was Shinnen. Shinnen grabbed his head and groaned loudly, feeling an unbelievable striking pain. Despite the fact that there was supposedly a hole to the surface above them. The area around Shinnen, to the sides and up above, was nothing but a blackness so dense that he could barely make sense of it. He was unable to see even two feet ahead of himself... but at least he could see. His spirit was all but drained... but he could stand, see and breathe. That had always and would always be enough, for him. He tried to flare his aura to make a light source... but his battle with Durahan had left him well and truly depleted. Speaking of Durahan... wasn't he in their somewhere as well? Shinnen wasn't exactly a genius, but he was more than smart enough to make the presumption that that Champion was in no way dead. For all he knew, Durahan was already out. Speaking of out... how was he going to find his way to it? The ground around his feet was cracked, beige sandstone, with grains of the non compressed namesake forming many piles and layers in Shinnens immediate vicinity. There was no sound at all but his own pulse and breath and yet... wait, there was something else, a light humming in and out... was that breathing? Suddenly a bright pink light flashes from out in the distance, it illuminated the chasm that Shinnen now inhabited and spread out visibility which was more than a little necessary at that point. The light seemed to be coming from what looked to be some sort of Entrance on the far side of the cave, an ancient dorrway, it was covered with the letters of the unknown. Some sort of ancient temple, could it lead to an exit? Was this light a guiding beacon to safety? Shinnen didn't know, but at that point he didn't really have any choice. His pokémon were more than a little out of reach and strong as he and his aura were, he unfortunately could not fly. Begrudgingly, he took a step towards the light when he stopped, that breathing sound... he could hear it again. Turning around his eyes widened in surprise at what he saw. A small distance away from where he had been standing... was Durahan. It looked like he was injured from the fall... and a large piece of rubble was crushing his leg, holding him in position. He was bleeding, injured... if left alone he would probably die. Excellent then, that saved Shinnen the trouble right? Good riddance to bad rubbish, with Durahan out of the picture, Shinnen could continue with his plans to- "I wouldn't have suspected a noble of the Kasai region to harm innocents." The words that Durahan had greeted him with rung clear in his head. An honourable duel was one thing, defeating an enemy in single combat was a fair practice... but leaving someone to die? Alone... cold... at the bottom of some cave in the desert... what did that say about him? About his character? Defeating Durahan was a key part of taking Dúlra down... but as the Champion of Kasai... was this really the right think to do? Was killing a man for his ideals and people... really worth it if it went against so many of his own beliefs? Shinnen paused before the pink light and looked back to Durahan once more. He knew what he had to do. Decision time, get ready to vote: What should Shinnen do? - Rescue Durahan and try to bring him to safety. - Leave Durahan to die and focus on escaping by himself. Rescue Durahan and try to bring him to safety.
This is a chance for Shinnen to bring a bit of honor to the situation. |
Pretty sure "justice" in that form is not the best way to deal with this, so I say that Shinnen should rescue Durahan and try to bring him to safety.
|
In this case, no fun leaving someone to die. Rescue it is.

Durahan stood looking out of his window. The clone pokémon force that had been sent to Dúlra had been unorganized and not a problem for the Dúlran military... however Durahan knew better. That wasn't an attack, it was a taunt. The strange presence from before... that which had corrupted Entei and put his home in danger. It had gained the power to create abominations, creatures born from nothing. Their aura was pitifully weak, barely even there even though it was slowly growing. Clenched in his fist was a letter from a region he had had very little interaction with, Yoko. The strange presence had a name, as the letter informed him, Mewtwo. The legends had always spoken of a mythical pokémon known as Mew, but never a second. Durahan could only assume that like the flawed copies that had been sent to his doorstep, that this Mewtwo creature was a clone as well. Durahan harbored no animosity towards them for their birth right, but this Mewtwo had overstepped a boundary. It had attacked his home not once, but twice. It created creatures as if it were a God and it waged war as if it deserved to rule... as if it deserved some sick retribution for its own creation. It did not. Mewtwo threatened not only the balance of Dúlra, but the balance of the World. With the clone pokémon force that attacked Dúlra now retreating, the letter was a cry for help. Durahan knew where Mewtwo was, he knew that Mewtwo was harming innocents... he knew that Mewtwo was an enemy. There was no question as to what he had to do. Entering into a secret chamber, deep within the grand temple at Gaol, Durahan would seek aid from some of his most Legendary allies... and Dúlra would finally strike back against the creature known as Mewtwo. But first he needed to trusted allies to stand at his side. Two people whom he knew he could rely on... perhaps it was best that his council decide. After that? He needed soldiers on the front lines. Warriors to fight and protect the honour of Dúlra and Yoko both. The call would go out and those brave enough would sign up. Durahan needs two trusted allies of incredible strength of will to accompany him as the leading assault on Mewtwo's forces. However, he cannot decide alone on whom is best suited to the job... creating a list of candidates he needs your help to decide whom will fight alongside him. The list is comprised of most current characters in Chronicles as well as one whom is not yet entered into the story. Vote for your two favourites and the victors will feature heavily in the main assault! --- http://i.imgur.com/Z0ohtRv.jpg Shinnen, Champion of Kasai --- http://i.imgur.com/S4Z6sjD.png Tíomaint, Head General of Dúlra --- http://i.imgur.com/n3StJ5x.png Talia, Dúlra's Ground Type Elite Four --- http://i.imgur.com/UMlDEJQ.png Jonetsu, Dúlra's Flying Type Elite Four The members are chosen! Thrusting his sword into the ground, Shinnen used both hands and grabbed the large piece of rubble crushing Durahan's legs. He growled lowly as he put all of his strength into lifting the object and pushing it forward, but it wouldn't budge no matter what he did. His strength alone wasn't enough to move it. Damn... what the hell was this thing made out of?! Shinnen took a step back and panted lightly, he was tired... broken... and had little to no strength left in him. Yet... He looked back at the pained and injured man who lay on the ground before him. How would he ever be able to return home with pride... knowing that this was how it all turned out? There was no honour in this. Shinnen grunted and took a step forward once more. He cried out in anguish as he pried the rock with everything he had, his muscles bulged and the veins along his arms and forehead pulsed. Sweat dripped down his brow and his teeth grit to the point where you could almost hear the grinding. "Come... on.... DAMN IT! MOVE!" Despite the horrible strain, he kept going, he pushed himself further and further until red sparks began to fly. The last reserves of his aura that he had used fighting Durahan began to surface as the stone finally began to lift, slowly, from the ground. "G.... GRAAAAHHHHH!!" Shakily, the massive, crumbling boulder began to heave as Shinnen mustered all of the strength he could to lift it. His aura began to flare gently, illuminating his arms and casting a gentle red glow that merged with the pink light still shining brightly behind him. "C'MON! MOVE DAMN IT!" With one more massive blast of energy Shinnen flipped the massive rock over, it crumbled and fell down into a heaping pile to the right of Durahan, but off of his bloodied leg... freeing the Dúlran champion from his prison and untold demise. Shinnen fell to one knee and clutched his chest. His heart was going a mile a minute... beating so fast it almost felt like he was having an attack, his forehead was dripping with sweat and he lowered his headband down to his neck to give himself more cold air against his skin. his long fringe fell down and he brushed it out of his eyes. It wasn't over yet, he still had to get to that light after all... he still had to get them both out of there, otherwise what was the point? "C'mon asshole... no time like the present. Don't get me wrong, I'm killing you later." Forcing himself to stand again, Shinnen put his arms underneath Durahan and hoisted the man, sword, armor and all, onto his shoulder. He was heavier than he looked for a skinny guy... but manageable for certain, definitely easier to lift than that damned rock anyway. Holding Durahan in place with one hand and wrenching his sword from the ground with the other, Shinnen started taking slow but meaningful steps towards that ancient doorway and the pink light glowing within. He winced occasionally every few steps and his teeth were still firmly clamped together in a snarl. He was more hurt than he let on... but that didn't matter. He could walk, Durahan couldn't, so he'd be the one doing the moving. It only made sense, only showed that he was stronger... he could stand, see and breathe... that was enough. As he reached the ancient doorway the light only got brighter. Walking inside it was clear that they were in some sort of temple. Dúlrans were always so meticulous about their worship... so why was something like this buried beneath the sand? They were standing in a wide and open room and it didn't look like there were any other exits. Damn it... so was this supposed exit not an exit at all?! Suddenly there was a crashing sound heard behind them and Shinnen turned to see a large slab of rock had fallen and was now blocking any and all ways out. That was... not good. Shinnen turned towards the source of the light, out of options he focused on it to try and make out exactly what it was. It was floating above a small column in the in the center of the large and ancient room. The entire building seemed to be carved from sandstone... the walls were lined with carvings of unknown spelling out words like "light" and "mind". The light source, upon further investigation, was what looked to be a tablet... it was pink as was its glow, and it was covered in etchings of the unknown spelling out similar words to those written on the temple walls. What seriously surprised Shinnen however, was the massive fluctuation of aura that seemed to bleed off of the thing... it had more auric energy stored in it than anything he had ever seen or sensed before in his life. He sensed that it was... beckoning him? Calling him forward? The Hell? Taking another few steps closer the intense auric energy grew even more apparent, the pink light plastered itself across his skin and the rest of the room... it almost seemed to grow "eager" as he drew nearer. The light it emitted felt warm and friendly, as if it was offering to help him... but Shinnen couldn't shake an eerie feeling about the object either. It seemed to be expecting something more of him... did it want him to reach out? To make contact...? Hmm, yeah, he could do that. Decision time, get ready to vote: What should Shinnen do? - Reach out and touch the tablet with his hand. - Slice violently at this hunk of rock with his sword. I chose Tiomaint and Jonetsu
Also, sign me up! Bidiya needs some war experience if he's ever going to become a great gym leader!! since "ignore the stone" isn't an option.. Slice violently at this hunk of rock with his sword I DONT TRUST GLOWING PINK ROCKS ;-; |
"Shinnen should totally see what's up with that weird tablet! Pink isn't usually a bad color, so it's probably okay! And it's a temple to something good, right? Check it out!" |
"I choose 'Slice violently at this hunk of rock with his sword.' I find myself mistrusting this suspicious object, they usually do not give anything good. But then again... what if something happens if he slices that object? Violently at that... It's risky either way." |
Oof. Since I probably don't have time to ask any questions anymore... Touch the rock, touch the rock! |
"I could never condone destruction of ancient temples such as this, and you don't have the energy to spare either. Try to reach out and touch the tablet with your hand, for now. It absorbed your aura earlier, so perhaps it recognized you as an aura wielder, so you could open it..." |

The World seemed to take on a grey complexion... There was no light, no colour but that sickly pink that shone from the tablet, it felt like an eternity but he managed to pull his hand away slowly before freezing completely. On his shoulder, Durahan's breathing had stopped dead... his own breathing had stopped dead. Yet he felt no need to breathe... as if his entire perception of reality existed only in a dream. The tablet began to spin and crack, the light from within was rushing uncontrollably out of the breaking stone, until it exploded outwards from the pressure and traveled through the ground above, below... and in all directions besides. Shinnen was blinded as he felt himself lose the last of his physical form, of his feeling... there was no longer the weight of Durahan on his shoulders... there was no longer Durahan. The man he had been holding had disintegrated into the nothingness of the light, Shinnen tried to move, to flare his aura and fight back... but he couldn't, all he could do was watch as he too faded into nothing. Above the ground Talie and Theo had frozen as well... as had a large surrounding area of where they were. Only there eyes slowly became able to move, moving to slowly meet each others before they too were rendered incapable of movement. Below them the ground began to split, small shafts of light seeped out before overwhelming them completely... as they too faded into nothing. And then the light, the chasm... and even the glass formed from Shinnen's burnt sand... it all vanished. The World had returned to how it had always been, peacefully calm. Balanced. ~~~ The four minds awoke once more to the sensation of sight, before them there was an unfamiliar place... an ancient tower that looked to have stood in a time long since gone past. It burned, flames fell down from it and scorched the ground as it slowly began to fall apart. Screams echoed from within, people and pokémon dying, these were no ordinary flames, they seemed to flicker like static between the various colours of the rainbow... and though they had no bodies they could still feel its heat. A single voice spoke... it had an incredible authority... yet it was still so soft. Like a doting father or a caring mentor, it was a voice that one was inspired to listen to, to follow. ...to obey? This... is the past. They had no mouth to answer. However it is also... a future, not perhaps, the future. But truly, perhaps, the most likely of candidates. The image shifted to show the massive tower in a more glorified state. It was before a structure of solid black rock, lodged in the ground... but in its perfected and undamaged form it was so very different. It hovered above the clouds and it was formed of what could only be described as a translucent, golden and heavenly light. This is my home. It is also my greatest weapon. The image of sight changed for them once more, the tower was crashing towards the ground, towards a tear shaped island. The golden form quickly became blackened and turned to the solid rock it had been seen as. Various floating tablets circles the structure and it began to burn with flames of the spectrum. As it hit the ground it made a massive impact, it destroyed many towns around the area and killed many people and pokémon in a single blow. As it became lodged in the ground, the flames began to spread from its walls... they traveled along the ground, over the sea, they wiped out all they touched until there was nothing. Nothing but a blank slate, an empty canvas. This is my balance. This World must always be balanced... but humans and pokémon, they never understand... they disrupt my balance. My peace. They are flawed... like my first failure. Like the Renegade... he protects them, but he cannot stop me forever. The vision changed once again to show the charred remains of all life, to watch it all fade away into nothing... only for a single seed to be planted. For a single plant to grow, a single life to be born. I have restarted... time and time again. Over and over. I have no age... I will do this again and again. You will die, everything you care for will join you. The sight they had faded into nothingness only for their own world to re-appear... the happy faces of the common folks flashed back into view. The smiles of so many innocents and the carefree cheer of the people and pokémon of the World. It was all there before them again, as if it had never been destroyed in the visions prior. But that is only A future. There are many more. The voice fell silent for many moments. I have tried so many times. I am tired of restarting, again and again. There are only so many times I can play through this game. The voice took another moment, to re-assure itself. My plates... one has been destroyed for you in it being found. The others will not be so easy. Travel the World, break my connection... break them all. One for each type, one for every classification of pokémon. Once they are destroyed... you will have a chance. The voice sighed gently. As if a great sadness was taking over it, as if its very existence was causing it great sorrow. It spoke again with a more somber tone than before. Failure... will lead to a bad ending. Do you all understand? There will be no coming back, no more decisions or games. Do you understand? This is more than the game you thought it was. This is more than us all. This... is more than the one who forms these words. The voice goes silent once more, leaving a longer and more meaningful gap before speaking again. Only one here shall remember this meeting. One of the four that have been guided to this place. They will be the greatest hope for the World. Human chosen with the greatest of wills... step forward and claim the weight of the World. The voice chuckles gently and if sound could convey a warm smile then surely it now would. Then it is you... but can you really call this your choice? I wonder... From hence forth... the World rests with you.
