As for names, in what style did you want to name them?

Honestly it was just hard for me to make a route in between there but i can connect them while keeping the routes to the island. The routes are there to give the region more water routes since it seems to be lacking in them.

Im unsure so far i have some done and victory road will still be victory road but the pokemon league will be in a city kinda like how it was in Hoenn. Just need some help brainstorming and also any errors people see on the map as ik there are a few that have to be changed.

Oh, don't get me wrong, there's no problem with more sea routes. I think you should keep them this way and think of a reason why the land path isn't accessible, like swampland, a mountain or maybe very dangerous Pokémon living in that area.

If you want more sea routes, there's still the option to connect the two towns in the south by one.

There should be so i think when i brainstorm a story that should be in it or i could just zigzag it either way it shouldnt be left alone and i like the idea of dangerous pokemon and such.

That is a possibility although i gotta think through it cause the point of not having them connected besides at the capital and victory to symbolize how the 2 parts are slowly getting reconstructed and connected so hmm

Do you think the cities should have a theme to the names? And should routes be called route 1..2..3...etc. Or have actual names?

Hey welcome back! Its understandable school can always make you extremely busy!
I could use everyones help mostly to critique the new town map and come up with some interesting names for each town or a theme for the names. Ideas?

Great thanks!

I wish but not this one cause i dont currently have the time to write up the newspaper article i wanted to thanks to a project that i have to do irl sadly. Wish we could though hopefully i wont be busy next time though and we can get some points!

ghostly August 10th, 2015 12:38 AM

I don't really have a critique because I like almost everything - lol.

But I did thought the map was too simple. Hmmm as for the name of towns... what is the meaning of Sangyo anyway? I mean, why Sangyo? There might be inspirations for the theme of towns... I will think of mine too since my char is a Poison Gym Leader... hmmm... thinkiiiiingggg.

Sangyo is simply industry in Japanese and it also is very unique as well. Its the best i could come up with but i did brainstorm with several others and it was either Ateria, Chronoh, and Sangyo and Sangyo won so thats what was decided and its better than Violight.

Yes we also have to discuss the order of towns like where you start and such if anyone hasnt noticed its designed to have victory road, the pkmn league, and the capital city in the middle which if you cut down forms the old two sides of the region east and west. So we have to discuss where the player would start, what town next then that town then all the way to the pkmn league. Another thing to discuss is route names do we want number or actual names like Scenic Way or something along those lines but for now lets just get the city names in order :)

Question for everyone~
What would be a cool way to reward people that are active in events and such? I plan on doing some events and competitions as well as reward people for being active in the region so i would like to know your guy's thoughts on a point system i mean i can obviously reward points but what could people get with these points? :D

That's a looooot. I'd like to help but right now my brain is fried from lack of sleep, lmao.

Should we have a skype group to discuss this? It'll be easier. Or rather, I find it easier. xD

I think the only best way to reward is giving them emblem Point system would be surely fit with emblem as rewarding a certain person when he/she reach at a particular point which appreciate them to help more! :D Btw do you get any emblem makers?

Well thats the problem only mods can award emblems and many people dont exactly get all that excited over emblems anymore anyways but i still gotta think on the concept of rewarding for now im going to finish up the history's of the two old sides of the region and slowly get to work with naming cities and towns ive only started some and waiting for any other resonses on some cool names or perhaps a theme for the town names. Also im still putting the final touches on the css in the op so hopefully that will look better with time.

News!
The Before the war... section has finally been updated and has the story of how the war began and some character background. You can find it in the op or read it here:
Spoiler:
Back before the split of modern day Sangyo the entire region was under an Absolute Monarchy where King Hotaru held all the power. Hotaru meant to “share” the success of his region with the entire world and prepared to invade the neighboring nations. Several officials on the east side of Sangyo disagreed with him and began meeting in secret. Months passed but on the 17th of August Hotaru was to officially declare war on the neighboring regions. That day Hotaru died in his sleep. Nothing was ever uncovered about his death but the rumors soon spread that the officials in the east murdered their king. On the 18th of August the next ruler was to be crowned, but the ceremony would spark the first stages of war. When the time came for her to be crowned Lady Ginchiyo refused and expressed how the crown would always belong to her father…a coward. The audience was shocked as she exclaimed that she, herself would forge herself a crown of gold and transform the puny region her father once thought to be so great to an Empire the world would fear. The officials took this time to speak up, Lord Yansan stormed onto the stage exclaiming how this was not how a leader should act and that the people themselves should contain the power to make the decisions and have a say in government. “While the King filled his belly, his people starved. And now our Queen wishes to further tax us? To use what belongs to the people for her own crown? When will we speak up citizens? When will we have our…” Yansan never finished his speech as Ginchiyo slammed her dagger in his heart. With their leader dead the Eastern Officials left in a hurry including Yansan’s wife, Lady Yukiko. This was the day when the unrest began as people around the country began rioting. The damage was immense and with Lady Yukiko and her wisdom missing the region was thrown into chaos. On the 1st of September soldiers marched from the capital city through West Sangyo meeting any riot or form of protest with force. East Sangyo never took it as hard. There were few riots but the unrest from the West worried many. Within the following week Lady Yukiko stood in front of the Capital Building announcing that East Sangyo would no longer obey the commands of Lady Ginchiyo. The response was immediate. Thousands of soldiers stormed the Capital building but Lady Yukiko was already gone. With the announcement made the army, the cities, and the region itself was split. Lady Ginchiyo was to represent the West. And East Sangyo elected Lady Yukiko as their leader. The war had begun…

I think the map is fine, looks nice. So what all do we need to do with it? Come up with names and determine town order?

I have no ideas for that.

I'm willing to help though! Just say the word! x3

Welcome to the Sangyo Region
Spoiler:
The region of Sangyo is a relatively new region with a difficult past…
Not too long ago the region was split and at war with itself. West and East Sangyo had both been enraged and each side was ready to destroy the other each holding in their possession hundreds of warheads and millions of soldiers. When all seemed lost the leaders of each side were asked by a mysterious organization to meet in the old capital building of the region on June 13th. But before we get into that lets go over the history of Sangyo.

Before the war…(Revised)
The war had begun...

The War…
Spoiler:
After the events at the Capital Building in September both Lady Ginchiyo and Lady Yukiko ordered weapons to be produced from every factory on their side of the boundary. Thousands of bombs, missiles, and guns were created, for one purpose, to destroy the other side. Lady Ginchiyo used propaganda and intimidation to draft soldiers from every city in West Sangyo. In East Sangyo Lady Yukiko held press conferences and made public speeches speaking about the hardships that they would face and the many deaths that the war would cause, however she stressed what winning this war might mean. Independence, civil rights, a new government and balance. However there was no draft in East Sangyo, people began signing up and Lady Yukiko’s speeches proved to be an effective incentive to obtain more soldiers. In the end both sides were equally met with warheads and soldiers. The first battle began at the capital. When the region split into two sides so did the capital. A wall was constructed straight down the middle of the city where neither from each side was allowed to cross. Then in the cold winter days of December, West Sangyo stroke. Six Planes departed from a nearby city on December 17th and set coarse for the Eastern Capital. Five planes dropped bombs on scattered parts of the city wreaking havoc everywhere they went, the sixth plane crashed into the Central Government building. The attack was short and quick but the damage was immense. Thousands of people killed in the wreckage and many more injured. Tensions where high and the East would no longer sit idly by while the West took its citizens lives. On December 18th “The Andreas” was fired, a nuclear warhead with the power to destroy an entire city. The warhead was planned to hit the western city of Sutong. “The Andreas” hit 53 miles away from the city killing over 50,000 people and injuring over 100,000. One month later West Sangyo sent its orders to the navy, that the fight would be brought to the sea. West Sangyo’s Navy far outnumbered the Easts and for four months decimated its ships and launched countless missiles at its trading ports. East Sangyo needed supplies, funds, and soldiers. They searched out for help offering anything they could. But no region would help in a civil war calling it “A battle of ambitions”. East Sangyo was on its own. After launching two nuclear warheads and ordering countless missile strikes both sides seemed to be at a stalemate. In mid-may Lady Ginchiyo made her decision. She would end the war swiftly by not only bombing the East and invading its cities….But by using pokemon to fight their way in. The news spread quickly, and many awaited the response of Lady Yukiko, however, before a statement could be released the nations came to an agreement. No region would trade with either side of Sangyo until peace was achieved. Sangyo seemed helpless, millions were lost, materials were scarce and both sides where highly in debt. All seemed lost until June 13th…

June 13th
Spoiler:
While the war was raging and both sides seemed to be crumbling from the inside out the leaders of both sides failed to realize a team rallying the citizens for a new order… On June 13th a two ambassadors entered the East and West sides of Sangyo. They called upon the leaders to meet at the old capital building in the name of peace. Although each leader was reluctant to go the people spoke out, the war was becoming too much and with both sides at a loss of what to do there was no other options. As the leaders approached both accompanied by armed guards a man several guard dressed in odd uniforms met them and ordered they leave their guards outside. With both complying the guards escorted them to the old capital building, a place that hadn’t been used in months. Once at the entrance no guards entered the building saying there was only one person at the top floor who wished to meet both of them as quickly as possible. The two leaders glancing wearily at each other entered the structure not sure what the next hour would hold. However the meeting was brief, thirty one minutes had passed and both leaders exited the building, together. They announced that the war was over and that Sangyo would be one once again. Questions were asked, but no answers where given. Both Lady Ginchiyo and Lady Yukiko left as quickly as they came. The uniformed men left in helicopters however there was no one else seen exiting the building. Although the events of the day are strange present day people celebrate June 13th as a day that ended suffering and the tale itself was lost to time…

Present Day Sangyo
Spoiler:
In the present day, Sangyo is known as an extremely industrialized land.
Religion although tolerated is not encouraged and religious structures are scarce. Many people have grown to accept what happened on the 13th but many East and West Supporters wish to see the region divided again and groups are beginning to sprout up all over the region threatening to split the region apart once again...
“The region is growing into a superpower, industrialized cities have begun sprouting up all over the region, rebuilding of severely damaged cities has begun and the capital is finally rebuilt to its former glory.”
“Technology here is more advanced than ever, many corporations have grown so large as too expand into other regions.”
The overall government of the region is a Constitutional Monarchy where Potentate Koichi resides as a figurehead and the Council of Seven. The council is made up of seven councilmen and women elected by the people collectively.

Will update the op soon in the meantime could use any advice you guys have .

I think you should make it paragraphs and not stick it in one.

I'm confused reading it since it's cluttered, giving spaces to clean it up would be nice.

The City Naming Event
As the Sangyo Region really begins to form i could use some help with naming the cities and towns on the map. If you havent viewed the map yet or your new in can be found in the original post. As of current we have 12 towns that need names, a name for the island and possibly a better name for victory road and the pokemon league. The only city that currently has a name is the capital city or by its formal name Shuto City. Below is a list of possible names for towns and cities but you can also make your own up or mention which ones you like best.

As we discuss the possible names it would be best to also mention what town the player would start in and what cities they will go to from there as well as what locations are cities and which are to be towns. After all of this is done Route names will be given so start thinking creatively and we can finish this map together!

Possible City/Town Names
