The Auria Region 「UR」 [Let's go exploring!]
The Auria Region Town Map Map made with assistance from Lostelle At A Glance Hello, travels and adventurers, and welcome to the Auria region! Auria is a land of mystery and adventure. It is located in the far North of the Pokemon world, consisting of a large landmass with several islands located around the southern coast. It is very similar to the real-world location of Greenland, both in geography and in climate. Much of the region is uncharted and uninhabitable by humans, but due to the harsh environment and relative isolation of its human settlements, Pokemon have historically played a large part in the people of Auria's survival. Here, Pokemon are viewed as valued companions, and people and Pokemon help one another in many ways, both large and small. Most of the towns and cities are located around the southern tip of the main landmass and the surrounding islands. There are sparse settlements up north as well, but travel between them is difficult, and the challenge has only been taken on by a select few. Much of the northern tier is undiscovered, and the mysteries it holds still await discovery by a brave adventurer. The Auria League consists of 8 gyms, and the Auria Pokemon League, where trainers must challenge the Elite Four and defeat the champion. In addition to the usual requirement of defeating the gym leader in an official Pokemon battle, most gym leaders also require that the challenger complete a quests to earn their badge. This often consists of exploring a cave and retrieving a rare item found only there, or capturing a rare Pokemon. All in all, Auria is a vast land of mystery with much of its natural beauty maintained. A common destination for travelers and trainers alike, those who brave its harsh elements are rewarded with breathtaking scenery, epic adventures, and many many stories to tell. Legends and Lore There is a legend surrounding the creation of the Auria region which has been passed down from generation to generation. Long ago there was a great clash between 3 different powerful Pokemon. Their war left destruction in its wake, but Auria was miraculously untouched. Auria is the "eye of the storm", the nothingness that underlies the clash between these three great forces. The land around Auria was once part of a great continent, but Auria is all that is left from the war. There are some who believe that it was protected, but this has yet to be proven. If these legends are true, it may still be protected to this day... Traditionally, the spiritualism of Auria revolves around the concept of "nothingness", or "wu". Rather than being the lack of anything, nothingness is regarded as a force in and of itself--a force which brings about purity of mind and conscience, and is the ultimate source of peace. This philosophy is mostly historical, and is not as closely adhered to today as it was in past eras, it is still the bedrock foundation of Auria culture and lifestyle to this day. Team Void Team Void is a group of traditionalists who believe strongly in the ancient ways of wu. They take the philosophy to the extreme, and believe that diversity and differences of ideals amongst people and Pokemon ultimately leads to suffering. Ex-members of the organization have stated that Team Void's end goal to eliminate the differences amongst Pokemon, but the measures they wish to take to accomplish this ideal are as of yet unknown. Notable Locations Auria has vast cave system, spanning the entire region. Though they haven't yet all been fully explored, Auria is said to contain over 5,000 caves, all of which are interconnected by one large, complex underground cave system. Seismic activity and acoustic data has confirmed that an ancient Pokemon lives down there. Floacea Town: A town located on Floacea island, southwest of the Auria mainland. It is known to have the mildest, most temperate climate in the region. It is famous its clear skies and for having a breathtaking view of the stars at night. It is the home of Professor Spruce’s lab, where she diligently studies the Delta phenomenon. Mistview Town: A small town located on another of the southwestern islands, just east of town is Mistview Forest. It is home to the Water-type Pokemon gym. Lumaria Town: The seaport town of the Auria mainland, it is known as the glowing city. It is brightly lit, and the cityscape is dotted with many trees which are hollowed out and fitted with lamps, giving the trees the appearance of giving off their own light. It also houses the Dúlran Embassy. It is home to the Normal-type Pokemon gym. Arcadia City: The second largest city in Auria. It has an oceanographic and seismological lab, which maintains an undersea sonar array, and monitors seismic activity within the region. It is home to the Ground-type Pokemon gym. Cleargate City: A city in the far east of the southern tier of the mainland. It is near Mirrorstream Cave, famous for its pure, delicious drinking water. It is home to the Ghost-type gym. Borealla City: An industrial city situated near a mine, it is the largest city in all of Auria. It sits at the crossroads of the sparsely populated North and the more populous southern portion of the region. It contains the Borealla Underground, a set of underground tunnels interconnecting the major points of the city, built to promote commerce and activity during the more frigid times of the year. It is home to the Steel-type Pokemon gym. Snowfair Town: A small, secluded town in the northern ice fields of Auria, the Auria League Champion, Claudia, hails from here. It is home to an ancient tribe of Aurians who are said to hold some knowledge of the ancient Pokemon and the origins of the region. It also houses the Dragon-type Pokemon gym. Frostlight Town: A small town in northeastern Auria. The coldest town in the region, it is built around a swamp which is frozen solid year-round. It is home to the Ice-type Pokemon gym. Azumithal Town: A town nestled at the peak of the highest mountain in Auria, reachable only by flying. It is home to the Flying-type Pokemon gym. It is also the headquarters of the Auria Pokemon League. Shizora Town: A small town on an island in the southwest of the region, just south of Auria Temple. It houses the Auria International Airport and the Auria Battle Frontier. The Four Temples There are four ancient temples scattered throughout the region. The architecture seems to indicate them to be over 10,000 years old, but no one has ever been inside, as a puzzle must be solved to enter each temple. Who knows what secrets they hold? Delta Formes Auria is home to a unique phenomenon known as Delta Typing. Every monotype species of Pokemon native to Auria has what is known as a Delta Forme, in which the Pokemon gains a second typing in addition to its normal one. For example, one in every 100 Misdreavus are Ghost/Dark, one in every 100 Sudowoodo are Rock/Grass, one in every 100 Klink are Steel/Electric, etc. Delta Pokemon also have slightly different traits, behavior, or temperament than normal Pokemon. Delta Misdreavus are particularly mischievous, and are known to go a bit too far in their Prankster behavior. Delta Sudowoodo are better at Camouflaging themselves as trees, Delta Klink are bonded more tightly together due to a stronger Magnet Pull between them, etc. System of Government Auria is divided into five different prefectures, each of which is run by prefects. Each of the prefectures are governed differently, and act largely independent of one another, policy-wise. The prefects are generally dedicated to serving the interests of the prefecture, and less so about the interests of the region as a whole. At the region level, Auria is represented by a senate of 12 members. However, unlike prefects, the Auria Senate does not make or enforce laws--they only represent Auria in international affairs and advise the prefects in matters pertaining to their prefecture that may have international consequences. Despite their total independence of one another and differing interests, there has never been any tension between the prefectures. In general they have always helped one another, as none of the prefects could thrive on their own, given the harsh conditions of the region. Diplomatic Relations Dúlra Diplomatic talks are currently underway between the leaders of Dúlra and the leaders of Auria. Dúlra has expressed an interest in studying the Delta phenomenon of Auria more closely through direct interaction, and hopes to foster a relationship of mutual fellowship and cultural exchange pursuant to that goal. The higher authority of Auria is currently discussing Dúlra's offer of alliance and is currently in the process of drafting a reply. |
Auria is open for sign-ups! If you'd like to be a part of the region, please be sure to read the rules and use the form above. If you have any questions about anything, let me know and I'll answer them here and add the answer into the OP as well! Most of them, at least. There may be some things I don't want to spoil just yet ;)

Time to test this...!
Name: Mei Trainer class: Ice Gym Leader Additional details: A passionate Ice-type trainer who's cheery-o and very optimistic. Lapras is her first and very main partner! Mei is clearly a gossiper. She's good at getting the latest gossip and so she was chosen as a writer of the Auria Region. Who definitely proves to be a handful. Under a mentor/supervisor named Angelica one of the Auria Elite Four. She is also shown to be crazy and insane. If asked, it would be revealed that she is a cousin of Xiu Níng, the Left Hand of Queen Lynn from The Yōko Region. That is why there are some same aspects of personalities. |

Also, the region map and town names and descriptions are currently being worked on. In addition, I hope to have a list of all the Delta Formes up soon. Feel free to put one on your team, if you want! One Delta Pokemon is the limit, to start with, but you may be able to get more later on. |

Aye, haha, I'm looking forward to it! The name Auria pretty much captured my attention- pretty name! ...DELTA? ..??! ??!! 11!1!! ....yes please. *q* |
Am I to late? If so, sorry.
Name: Chris Trainer class: Coordinator Team: Togekiss, Gliscor, Gallade, Froslass, Magnezone, Altaria Additional details:Chris is from Sinnoh. He is nice and handsome, and is quite popular around girls. His mother and father died in a car crash, sadly, so he lives with his grandparents. |
Quote:
That's so sad about Chris's parents :'( How has he adjusted to his new home? I'm sure he's used to the snow, being from Sinnoh, but Auria is a bit colder. Oh! And how has he been affected by the recent erratic behavior of the Pokemon in the region? |
Name: Kryxalys
Trainer class: Steel-type Gym leader Team: Honedge Mawile Skarmory Magneton Additional details: Kryxalys was a local trainer from the Auria Region who enjoyed exploring the region to the best of her abilities. After exploring what most trainers her age could not, she had set out to make the more northern reaches of the region available to a wider variety of trainers and locals alike. Recognized with her passion for assisting the region as well as her skill with Steel-type pokemon, Kryxalys had been appointed to be one of the gym leaders for Auria. Personal note: I hope this is okay .-. And I am sure I'll edit more info in as Auria grows and more info get's released. If I need to change anything at anytime, let me know :3 |
Mei's been pretty lonely since she was the only one in here-
whooooo, yeah, I can't wait for this to grow! |

Name:Pokeconstructor. Trainer Class:Void Admin. Team:- Electross Larvesta Briavary Haxorous Additional Details:I am kinda pretty heartless and evil admin of team void. I would have a mentality that small, low-leveled, unevolved Pokemon are just a dumb garbage and are of no use. I am so cruel to Pokemon that even my Pokemon are afraid of me. Sure i need a punishment for that. |

Ooh I've been super excited for Auria! Can I have a custom trainer class? :3
Name: Harper Class: Explorer Team: Flareon (Delta), Jellicent (M), Salamence Stuff: Harper visually is a short, soft-featured person. He is often mistaken for a girl and/or a kid, but doesn't really mind what people think as long as they're being polite. He's actually seventeen and has spent a good five years exploring Auria, especially its cave systems. He sometimes goes adventuring with partners or guides, but often it's just him and his Pokémon. He captures most of his adventures using high-quality digital cameras and makes some money selling the photos to nature magazines. He also does work as a local guide when he gets tired of traveling for a while. |

She thinks it wants her to find it and so she wanders the caves in search of something that may or may not exist, wholeheartedly believing that it does. |
OOC:As a respone to the second WoPC event that is going on, I wrote a small piece about how Kryxalys would deal with these shenanigans in her own town. I won't link this post into the WoPC thread yet, as I'd prefer getting a final 'OK' from you Sophy~
I'm also unsure of any grammatical mistakes I may have made. I haven't done any creative writing since high school, so my apologies ;-; IC: Both Kryxalys and her challenger were down to their last Pokémon. Kryxalys flicked her silver hair to one side and threw her Pokéball, revealing her opponent's last obstacle: a Magneton. A look of dread fell upon his face, as he reluctantly revealed his last Pokémon: his starting Prinplup. A small grin crept in as she faced her Magneton, "Finish this with a thunderbolt, Tesla!" The last leg of the match was over before it had even started, unfortunately for the newcomer. She withdrew Tesla and approached the trainer, "You did a good job utilizing your match ups. I was pleasantly surprised you forced me to use my precious Tesla. Rest up at the nearest Pokécentre and become tougher with your Pokémon. If you can't defeat me at this strength, you and your team simply aren't strong enough to travel the harsh land and climate past this town. I look forward to our next battle!" As she led her most recent trainer out of the gym, the Gym Guide approached her and whispered to her, "Ma'am, there have been reports of incidents around town where wild Pokémon have been causing an uproar". She nodded to the guide in thanks, telling him to not allow any more challengers in until she returns. She waved over one of her gym trainers to accompany her while she investigated. As soon as Kryxalys had left the Gym, she heard cries for help coming from one of the paths leading in and out of the town. Several Deerling had surrounded one of the locals. This strange, she thought; Deerling are usually shy and hide from people. Even less often are they this aggressive! What is with their red eyes? Kryxalys rushed out to the woman's aid and used her only Pokémon she had remaining. "Go Tesla! Use thunderwave!" she shouted. She wanted to avoid any harm to the Deerling, as horrifying as those eyes had looked. When the wild Pokémon were all paralyzed, she helped the lady to her knees and led her back to safety. She called out for her Gym Trainer to help her carry the Deerling into the Pokécentre to have them all looked at and treated. While stopping there, she dropped off the remainder of her team to have them healed up. Of course, she kept her trusty Tesla the Magneton with her. Before she knew it, she heard more commotions going on outside. This time a flock of Pidgeys had flown down from the sky to harass the unaware townspeople. Both her and the gym trainer had released their Pokémon - a Magneton and a Magnemite, respectively. Paralyzing all the bird Pokémon as was done the time before, they had stopped the mayhem again - but for how long? Come night time, she retrieved her recovered team and headed for her gym. Outside the doors was the Gym Guide, taking a break - as her gym had been closed during this chaotic day. She rested her hand on his shoulder and solemnly said, "I hate to bother you again, but could you deny access to all trainers from entering my Gym until this whole mess passes us by? It's my duty as the gym leader here to protect this town first and foremost. I understand that any incoming trainers will be displeased with my choice, so would you be willing to point them towards the Pokécentre or inn for them to stay in - and I'll pay for their time there?" "Of course, Kryxy! I'm sure all the trainers would understand. Some my even be willing to help ou-" "That would be great, our town only has myself and our gym trainers to protect us. So any help would be greatly appreciated." Kryxalys had gathered all of her gym trainers and organized patrol routes mostly covering the paths leading in and out of the town as well as having one trainer roaming the main streets inside the town. They would take turns getting rest, eating, relaxing and then going back out on duty. She had no intention of wearing her own followers out. After explaining her plan, she had regathered their attention with one last line, "Whatever you do, make sure you don't harm the wild Pokémon. Whatever is happening is not their fault. We are steel-type trainers, our duty is to protect this town and the wildlife surrounding it. I will not tolerate any harm. As steel-type trainers, we should be well equipped for disarming aggressive Pokémon. Use tactics such as paralysis and moves like Metal Sound and Fake Tears to discourage them from anymore fighting". All the trainers suddenly had a stern, serious look and nodded as they ran off in their respective directions. Of course, Kryxalys would also be apart of her town's defense. She would start off by traveling door to door spreading the news to the townspeople to stay inside and keep their precious valuables to themselves. All food should be kept in secure places and out of sight from any wild Pokémon. They should never stray too far from town, and watch out for any wildlife with those deep, red eyes. If any trouble were to go down, the townspeople were to shout out for help, as trainers will likely always be nearby. It was their duty to make sure no one or no Pokémon would be harmed. |
sdhj I love your Delta Typings! I think the idea of a tiny percentage of pokemon having a unique type is kind of in line with the anime/movies where the odd random pokemon has been unique (crystal onix, etc.)! :D

Sorry for the delay, everyone. I only had internet access on my phone yesterday, and I wanted to make sure I could give you guys a proper welcome ^^;

Depending on which region may be nearer to your location.- To the esteemed leader of the Auria region, Due to small negotiations carried out at a previous date, the Dúlra region would like to extend to you one of it's first official requests of friendship. While usually we are the ones accepting the request I have taken it upon myself to further my regions diplomatic relations by reaching out to a greater degree with our recent pro-social movements here in Dúlra. In our pursuit of understanding the World and the balance that is born from it, we feel especially strongly about these "Delta Pokémon" that are native to your region. If at all possible we would appreciate the ability to study these pokémon and their altered behavior through direct social methods. Here in Dúlra we prefer to live out our endeavors rather than resort to experimentation and as such the opportunity to better understand and learn from these unique new sub species in person appeals to us greatly and may offer us a further insight into how we might strive for peace and balance in such an eternally varied world as ours. In allowing us this opportunity we would, as I mentioned, love to extend a full and formal expression of fellowship between our two regions. As a trusted ally of Dúlra, our military service will be ever at the ready to assist you in times of conflict... a cultural and political ambassador and embassy may also be installed in whatever city you so choose, should such a thing be to your liking, and Dúlra would be ever pleased to accept and welcome an ambassador and embassy of your own to our home, to represent Auria and to further strengthen the bond between we two great nations. I, of course, would make no demands of a potential ally... and so the choice of allied work is up to you to accept or deny and we of Dúlra will hold no grudges either way. Regardless, I do hope to hear from you soon. Highest of regards, The Champion of Dúlra. |

She has a strong, tough personality, but she cares deeply for Pokemon. Some people say that she's a bit of a stiff, and worries too much about little things, but it's only because she cares. She's recently taken on a new pupil, who may prove herself to be a bit of a handful... |
Name: Alistair

Having grown up in Azumithal Town his whole life, he has spent hours flying through the air with his Pidgeot. When he is not training for his gym, Alistair likes to help teach the next generation of Aurians how to fly with their Pokémon. |

Azumithal Town http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--XaTayTdZ--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/190h4r2lmgymbjpg.jpg Azumithal Town is a town in northern mountain ranges of Auria. It is notable for being the site of the 8th and final Auria Pokemon Gym, and houses the Auria Pokemon League. Nestled at the top of Auria’s tallest mountain, it is only accessible by flying. The local citizens are all trained to ride Noivern from their youth, and most become expert riders by their adulthood. Azumithal Town's tradition of riding Noivern for sport and transportation is ancient, dating back centuries. Rather than viewing them as mere steeds, the bond between a citizen of Azumithal Town and his Noivern is one grounded in friendship and trust. Due to it only being accessible by flying, coupled with its high altitude and rough flying weather below due to frequent blizzards, people of Azumithal have little contact with the outside world. The town is well known and famous throughout all of Auria. Only a select few have seen it for themselves, however. Reaching it is extremely difficult, and is often said to be the most difficult task that faces trainers aspiring to the Pokemon League. Despite its relative isolation and their ancient, traditionalist culture, the people of Azumithal are friendly and welcoming to outsiders. In fact, people from outside who manage to reach Azumithal are often regarded with respect and admiration, and show warm hospitality towards trainers who arrive there to complete their journey to challenge the Pokemon League. The abundance of huge Noivern flying through the skies can be a bit intimidating for trainers arriving there for the first time, but the skill with which the locals ride them is truly a sight to behold. Question for members of Auria: Has your trainer ever journeyed to Azumithal Town? If not, do they aspire to go there one day? Do they know anyone there? Have they heard any interesting stories about it? Please share with us a piece describing your character's experiences and/or knowledge of this town! It could be a description of a time when your character visited, or if you have a character who lives there, tell us what a day in the life is like for a citizen of Azumithal. Have fun, and more locations will be posted soon! |

Just to point out a small typo:
"through the skies can be a bit in the sky can be a bit intimidating" in the third-to-last line, I believe. :3 As for Kryxalys - she had managed to collect all the badges and challenge the Pokemon League prior to being appointed as a gym leader. She remembers her struggles in reaching Azumithal town, and the pride and joy she shared with her Pokemon upon reaching it. Unfortunately she also holds a bittersweet memory of her loss to the Elite Four when she had challenged them in her past. |
Has your trainer ever journeyed to Azumithal Town? If not, do they aspire to go there one day? Do they know anyone there? Have they heard any interesting stories about it?
Yes! Mei visited the entire Auria Region, actually. c: Just like Kryxalys, Mei has defeated and Gym Leaders and wasn't able to progress towards the Champion. The Elite Four is a biiiiig hurdle. maybe that's why Mei and Angelica knew each other...? She enjoyed the flying! There were lots of people that were shouting because she couldn't stay still so at times, she looked like she was going to fall off but thankfully, she's alright. Mei visits her fellow Gym Leader too! But not often though. because she visits her other Gym Leaders as well. |
sorry for taking so long - i'm finally here. While Gwen is not Auria-born, she has certainly made a name for herself during her stay in the region. First arriving as a Ranger eager to explore the unknown parts of Auria, she joined a squad dedicated to excavating the immense cave system beneath the surface. Alongside her trusty tag team of Drillbur, who does the digging, and Golett in charge of heavy lifting, Gwen has already managed to examine quite a large area of the system around her base city. The other two members of her team are two Fossil Pokémon that were found in the depths of the grottos.Name: Gwen Trainer Class: Ground-type Gym Leader Pokémon: http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/529.png http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/622.png http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/140.png http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/698.png Additional Details: |
Spoiler:
I'm so glad to have you on board, Nagi ^^ Welcome to Auria! Let me also say it's quite impressive that Gwen has explored so much of the cave system! Not many people make it down there, and a lot who do get lost and end up having to Dig/Escape Rope their way back to the surface. She's a brave trainer, and a great gym leader I'm sure! Hope she has more exciting adventures~ |
Azumithal Town is really cool! Harper hasn't been there yet though. Sometimes when he heads north while caving he has this idea that maybe he could reach Azumithal by cave, so he kind of aims for it in the back of his mind, but hasn't gotten that far yet. If he does find a cave route, he hopes to make it reasonably accessible so people who are afraid of flying are able to visit Azumithal. It's a far-off dream, though.
|
Only about a year ago did Estelle bother to venture into the wider world outside of her hometown. The stories of Azumithal's dragons were part of her childhood and when she was younger she imagined that she would one day be a dragon rider, but as she grew up she naturally forgot about those dreams. Since her psychic awakening she has felt an irresistible pull to the caves and mountains and the deep and dark places of the earth so she may well find herself traveling north one day and seeing the dragons in person.

Saddening Incident With AdvertisementIt's been a while! Auria's recovering well from the Pokemon Invasion! The results were horrible but thankfully, everything subsided and we're all okay! ...Not really that okay but we're healing! As to the outcome of the incident, we have example such as Aracea Town - one of the towns that were heavily damaged! There's a lot of wild pokemon there and as expected, they've gotten loco and cause many havoc! It's not only Aracea but also Borealla City too! The biggest city were affected badly! You can take a gist to what happened to the other cities and other places - it was just as bad! The boats were in the same boat. On the incident I mean, boats can't fit in a boat, you know. There were many injured, both Humans and Pokemon. It was really and is still sad when recalled upon. That was then and this is now, we're still alive today so everything will be a-ok! Except for traumatic experiences but you don't need to concern over that! They're healing mentally! I think! Enough of that sad news and let's skip straight to water bottles. Auria has a large selling of Mirrorspring Glacier Water! They're clean, delicious to those who like drinking water! (I don't even think water has a taste but whatever suits your tongue!) But also delicious to those who don't drink water! It will make your body clean! Especially when you pee! Clean pee is appealing! You can also collect some bottles and pour them in a tub to bath! This Mirrorspring Glacier Water is a recommended drink to all! Buy one now! - Aurian Journalist Mei, WPCNN - sent to one Miss Angelica of Elite Four DID I DO OKAY, MISS ANGELICA?????????????????????? Mirrorstream Cave http://www.wallpaperup.com/uploads/wallpapers/2013/07/26/123082/big_thumb_3467e9484aadc1a71ea0f99ee49a8f91.jpg Mirrorstream Cave is a glacier cave just north of Cleargate City. The stream that runs through it originates from a spring in the mountainous north. It is constantly replenished by ice melt, and is naturally filtered as it runs through layers of ice and frozen stone. As such, the water from Mirrorstream Cave is renowned for being the freshest drinking water in all the region. Bottled Mirrorstream Glacier Water is the primary export of Auria, and it is world-renowned for its freshness, purity, and cleansing properties. In fact, there is a long standing spiritual tradition behind the waters of mirror stream cave, whose purity has historically been regarded as the embodiment of the purity that comes with a perfect understanding of wu. Nowadays, such beliefs aren’t believed quite as firmly, though these traditions do make for good marketing. In addition to the water found there, Mirrorstream Cave is a beautiful place. It is a wide open space filled with ice, which during the day sparkles from the sunlight that shines through the openings in the walls and ceiling. The diffraction of sunlight from the ice, coupled with the light shining through the mist created by the waterfalls, creates a rainbow that shines throughout the cave. This sight, along with the silent stillness and pure water, makes Mirrorstream Cave a very calming place. Many people come here to relax and take in the scenery, and have a fresh drink of water while they're at it. Questions for members of Auria: Has your trainer ever journeyed to Mirrorstream Cave? If so, give us the deets on their adventure there, and what their thoughts were while they were there. Does your trainer enjoy Mirrorstream Glacier Water? |
To Mei, my pupil:Also, do you remember what I’ve told you about "many" vs. "much"? We only use “many” when we’re talking about multiple things (e.g. "many problems"), but for a singular noun, we use “much” (e.g. "much havoc"). Don’t worry, since no such distinction exists in our local Aurian tongue, this is a common mistake that many Aurian’s make when speaking in the Common language. Similarly, “was” should be used when saying that the biggest city was affected badly. Again, an easy mistake to make due to this distinction not existing in the Aurian language, so don’t fret. Here is the final, edited version of your story: Saddening Incident With AdvertisementIt's been a while! Auria's recovering well from the Pokemon Invasion! You can take a guess as to the gist of what happened to the other cities and other places - it was just as bad! The boats were in the same boat. (Regarding the incident, I mean. Boats can't fit in a boat, you know) There were many injured, both humans and Pokemon. It was really sad and still is when recalled upon. That was then and this is now, we're still alive today so everything will be a-ok! Except for traumatic experiences but you don't need to concern over that! They're healing mentally! I think! Enough of that sad news, let's skip straight to water bottles. Auria has a large selling of Mirrorspring Glacier Water! They're clean, delicious to those who like drinking water! (I don't even think water has a taste but whatever suits your tongue!) But also delicious to those who don't drink water! It will make your body clean! It'll flush out your whole system! You can also collect some bottles and pour them in a tub to bathe! This Mirrorspring Glacier Water is a recommended drink to all! Buy one now! |
The veteran trainer got up. She had been resting in what remained of Cleargate. But now she decided to go through Mirrorstream Cave. "Okay, Porygon-Z, let's go," she said, and walked toward the cave, Emolga and Delphox safe in their PokeBalls.
As she stepped in, she was immediately taken by surprise at how.... beautiful this place was. The light from outside was diffused by the ice, creating a rainbow that shone throughout the whole cave. As Jojo looked in awe, Porygon-Z shook its head. Its trainer could be so easily distracted sometimes. "Come on, Jojo. We don't have all day," it said in a monotone voice as it tugged on Jojo's arm. (Yes, it talks. It's basically a robot, after all) The girl snapped back into reality, laughed a bit, and went on. "Hey, I heard from a local that the water here is the purest water in this side of the Pokemon world. I mean, that doesn't matter for you, since you're basically a robot, but I'm curious!" She went to a nearby water deposit, took out a bottle that Porygon-Z could swear she didn't have before I wrote this sentence, and got some of the water. The teenager took a sip. "Holy son of a truck, this is good," she exclaimed as Porygon-Z just shook its head again. |
Francesca wandered through a dark cave, somewhere in the northern mountain ranges. She was determined to get some inspiration for her dark sketches, so she pressed on. The cave was cold, long, and winding. She could see her breath in front of her face. Ice cold water dripped from the ceiling. The deeper she ventured into the cave, the more she could feel the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. It was cold--freezing even--but there was also an eerie presence. It was frightening, but Francesca, being the odd girl that she is, was exhilarated by it. As she peered around a corner, she was startled to see a pair of yellow and red eyes gazing at her through the darkness, with a circle of bright orbs floating beneath them. It was a Misdreavus, who snickered mischievously at her. "You seem...different." Intrigued, Francesca tilted her head and followed the Misdreavus deeper into the cave. The glow from its necklace led the way. The cave was getting incredibly dark, to the point where she could barely see a hand in front of her face. She was starting to lose sight of the odd Misdreavus. Determined to examine it, she kept on going. “Have you…disappeared? Can you come back out? I won’t hurt you…” She said in an awkward, but gentle voice. She was truthful: she truly meant the creature no harm. Eventually as she got deeper and deeper into the cave, she had to stop, as there was a deep ravine right in front of her feet, and she nearly fell in. “Hm. I guess…I’d better go back now.” Just as she turned around, she was face-to-face with a grinning Misdreavus. It smirked, and began to shriek loudly. The suddenness with which the Misdreavus let out its scream startled her. She flinched, and began to fall. Before she knew it, she lost her footing and fell into the gorge. At that moment, thankfully, the Xatu that her mom loaned her made its way out of its Pokeball and teleported Francesca to safety. Before she knew it, she was out of the cave, just outside the entrance. Her heart still racing, she turned and embraced the Xatu who saved her. “You…saved me. I almost…” She couldn’t finish the sentence without breaking into tears and hugging Xatu again. It was odd though. Misdreavus are known to be pranksters, but it’s unheard of for them to play such vicious, dangerous pranks. “Could that have been a…” The thought crossed her mind. Could this have been one of those Delta types that she heard about? Intrigued, she was determined to return to the cave and meet the Pokemon again and one day capture it. But this time, she would come prepared. Somewhere in the darkest, deepest parts of Auria, something was stirring. But what…? http://i.imgur.com/AYPWUzj.jpg?1 They couldn’t stay neutral any longer. While generally, Auria tended not to get involved in global affairs, it seemed the attack of the clones had triggered something deep within the uncharted caverns of the region. Ever since the recent attack on Yōko, tremors, whose epicenter could be traced to Auria temple, began shaking all of Auria. Theories circulated throughout the region. Some people speculated that it was the end of the world. Some people said it was simply coincidence—a string of natural phenomena, nature taking its course, tectonic plates and all. However, deep down everyone was a little concerned, even the skeptics. What is happening? What is to become of our homes? The people of the regions reacted with dismay and confusion. Theories were abundant, but the people of Auria could only helplessly speculate as the tremors grew ever stronger with each passing day. One person, Claudia, knew what this all meant. She knew the legends well enough to know that this portended grave danger. If what she feared was true, it meant the clones weren’t planning on stopping at Yōko. Auria would eventually come under attack. “Could it perhaps be warning us?” Claudia thought. “Is this its way of getting our attention?” If it was, she knew this couldn’t be ignored any longer. For the sake of Auria, they had to do something. And that they would… “We’ll be dispatching our most skilled fighters to assist Yōko in any way we can. These clones pose a threat to the world, and need to be dispatched sooner than later. For the sake of Yōko, for Auria, and for the world, let us pray we come out of this successful." |
The time to strike is upon us... Dear Trainers: The Champion of the region, Claudia seeks capable trainers to assist in the fight against the Pokemon known as Mewtwo and his legion of clones. This is a global crisis and if swift action isn't taken, the entire world could be in danger. In response to this episode, a military alliance known as the UR (United Regions) has been formed, of which Auria is a member, along with the regions of Oceia, Dúlra, Theseus, Heiwa, Ceriah, and Sanctuare. Together, the regions of the UR have organized a plan of action to put a stop to the clones. The region of Heiwa will be providing and manufacturing armour for Pokemon. Human armour will be provided by Dúlra. Land forces will be convene in Dúlra, on the coast nearest to Yōko. We will be sending our forces there via ship, which will be departing from the port in Shizora Town. Air transport will be carried out by any and all able bodied flying Pokemon from the various regions. The primary strike forces will be dropped within range of Mewtwo's main army. This team will be lead by the legendary beasts of Dúlra (the Electric-type Raikou, the Fire-type Entei, and the Water-type Suicune), who will be dropped onto the battlefront by the legendary birds of Heiwa (an Articuno, along with two other legendary birds known as Zapdos, and Moltres). Auria in particular will play a critical role in the air strike, with our expert Noivern riders defending the air force from impending attack. There will be naval transport carried out primarily by Orcadow, powerful Water-type Pokemon native to the Oceia region. There will also be supporting forces of a select few Gyarados and Milotic. While the naval strike force will not be our primary vector to victory, we will need all the assistance we can get. Mewtwo is our primary target. Our goal is to secure his defeat either through his surrender or, failing that, a more "permanent" means. Our hope is that defeating Mewtwo will demoralize the clones, who will then be easily dispatched by the UR's army. Please understand that this will not be an easy effort. While we are confident that we can dispense with Mewtwo and his band of clones, Mewtwo is exceedingly strong and his clones are stronger than the average Pokemon as well. However, for the good of Yōko, Auria, and the world, they must be stopped sooner than later. If you would like to take part in the effort, please check in at the Dúlra embassy in Lumaria Town. Thank you, and please pray for our safety. ~Angelica What is your name? Which strike group will you be taking part in? The Day Alistair Met Crobat (and Explored Mirrorstream Cave)Alistair wandered through the dim light, Vivi was flying next to him. Alsitair had no clue why, but despite the chilly temperature Vivi was rather chipper. Looking around, it really was beautiful. He had come after it was recommended to him by a fellow Gym Leader, and he figured it would be interesting to see what (if any) Flying types would make a glacier their home. Earlier in the day he and his Pokémon had spent their time battling a few of the native Pokémon and then spent a good while chasing a particularly tenacious Skarmory (which had managed to evade capture and escape). Now he was heading for a small clearing near a waterfall that he had noticed earlier, with plans of having a small dinner before returning to Cleargate City for the evening. As he sat eating a sandwich, Alistair glanced at the water below and once again enjoying the ice visible below. Around him his Pokémon (at the time a Pidgeotto, Noivern, and Vivillion) lounged about, munching on their own small dinners. Feeling a bit thirsty, he glanced towards his backpack, only to stop as he saw a small (perhaps too small) Zubat sneaking up on the very drink he was looking for. Upon being caught, the Zubat froze and attempted to put on a tough face (well as tough as it could). The moment was so comical that Alistair burst into laughter, startling some of the Zubat (and Golbat) that fluttered about above. However, that abruptly stopped when the Zubat fell to the ground with a slight cry. It was clear to Alistair that this Zubat was injured. Offering it a bit of water, he looked it over and noticed that its right tail was injured, no doubt from another Zubat. Fortunately, he had a potion and was able to help the little Zubat out. Thinking nothing of it, Alistair returned to Cleargate City. The next day Alistair nearly fell out of his bed when he awoke to a Zubat sleeping right above his face. The rest, of course, is history. |
Kryxalys looked down at the notice that had arrived that morning. The Mewtwo threat explains the quakes felt recently. Certainly this was not something to be ignored - nor left to others. She folded the paper and shoved it into her pocket as she headed out of her gym. "Miss, are you off again? We can't keep closing the gym on a whim you know!" "I'm afraid this threat is drastically larger than shutting down my gym for a while. Not to mention - I am sure the other gym leaders in our region - no, the entire world - will be taking part. There will be a large collaborative effort to shutdown Mewtwo". Kryxalys entered the local Pokécentre and approached the PC. It had been a long time since she pulled out her original team, the one she had trained and loved with all her heart. The team that took her throughout Auria and up against the Elite Four. Now, they'd fight side by side once again, against the fearsome Clones. She withdrew her Magneton, Kingdra, Skarmory, Flareon, Aegislash and Absol. She whispered to herself their nicknames respectively, "Maru, PigBaby, Trap, Cure, s0s and Rogue. I guess you could say, it's time to shake off all this rust". She instinctively put her sunglasses on as she exited the Pokécentre. She immediately released Trap, her Skarmory, and flew down towards Lumaria town. She landed in front of the Dulra Embassy, withdrew Trap and entered the building. She approached the registrar's desk and informed them of her participation in the incoming war. "My name is Kryxalys Ohr'ran, gym leader of Borealla City. I wish to enlist in the ground forces of the UR. I intend on fighting on the front lines and help carve a hole in the Clones' army and lead our forces as close to Mewtwo as I can!" The registrar looked up at her with minimal interest, "Calm down, child - save your energy for the fight. Kryxalys for ground strike team, gotchya". Kryxalys smiled and began to head out until the registrar spoke up one last time, "By the way Ms. Gym leader, wearing sunglasses indoors isn't very cool". |

Disaster in the region __________________________________________________________________________ The earthquakes continued daily. They had lightened up ever since the militia organized, but there was still great disaster being wrought on the various parts of the region. On the Southern islands, earthquakes weren’t quite as strong or prevalent, but tidal waves were striking. As a result, all boats traveling between the various islands were canceled. Up north, things were even worse. There were avalanches coming down from the mountains as a result of the earthquakes. Snowfair Town, Frostlight Town, and Borealla City were all put into a state of emergency. The region simply wasn’t prepared for this kind of disaster. The only place that was spared seemed to be Arcadia City. Interestingly enough, in the midst of the calamity, the city began to see an unusual amount of Drillbur and Trapinch in the city. Their presence was innocuous, the Drillbur occasionally popped out of their holes and startled a few people, but beyond that, the sudden increase in their population didn’t cause any major problems in the city. Still, it was significant enough that the Arcadia seismology lab thought it worth investigating. It's time to strike... _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Everyone who had signed up was now gathered in the port in Lumaria Town. The crowd of about 100 noble trainers stood waiting for the boat to arrive, chatting amongst one another about what was currently happening. Some of them sat with their Pokemon and comforted them—many Pokemon were anxious about everything that had been transpiring in recent days. Everyone was hoping that their efforts would put a stop to all the disasters happening in the region. But all they could do was hope and have faith that the Champion was correct in her belief that putting a stop to Mewtwo would stop the calamities. Meanwhile, the Champion Claudia was at the forefront of the crowd, an Articuno by her side. There was something about Articuno…such a majestic beast it was, how calm and serene it looked even on the eve of war. It somehow invoked courage and peace in any who stood in its presence. Claudia, on the other hand, carried a decidedly less relaxed demeanor. Despite her legendary status in the region, despite all the stories and myths surrounding her, in person she was actually rather humble-looking. She simply stood near Articuno, silently looking around at the crowd of brave fighters and Pokemon. She wore the gravity of the situation on her face. She had confidence in their ability to deal with Mewtwo, but there were other things bothering her. There were a lot of things regarding what was currently happening in the region that were known only to her…and those things concerned her deeply. Still, what mattered now was the war—assisting Yōko and putting a stop to whatever dark ambitions Mewtwo was fighting to achieve. After about half an hour had passed before the ship arrived at port. It was a special Auria vessel that the region was known for, built to navigate through the many whirlpools that dot the seas outside the region. As they boarded, Claudia looked each trainer in the eyes, gave a brief nod, and said “Thank you so much for doing this.” She took notice to a few trainers in particular: a relaxed-looking man whom she recognized as the Azumithal Gym Leader, an eager, enthusiastic looking woman wearing sunglasses whom she recognized as the Borealla Gym Leader, and a short, soft-featured young man who who gave off the appearance of a brave explorer—hopefully one day she’d become better acquainted with this intriguing young man. And just like that, they were off to Dúlra. Their next stop would be Gaol Temple. The fight was soon to begin. |

The Attack On Cleargate City __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The ship carrying the Auria military force had only left a day ago. The greatest warriors, trainers, and Pokemon the region were already well on their way to Dulra when Cleargate City was suddenly attacked by a seemly endless barrage of angry Mandibuzz, Staraptor, Braviary, and hordes of other flying Pokemon. It seemed the natural defenses provided by the labyrinth of whirlpools surrounding the region were useless against the legion of flying Pokemon Mewtwo commanded. The people of the city fled into their homes and scrambled for shelter as Gusts and Whirlwinds of the attackers' making engulfed the city. Cleargate wasn't built to handle such weather conditions, houses and buildings were swept up in the Whirlwinds. This level of destruction had never been seen in the city. The horde of attacking Pokemon seemed endless. Was anywhere safe? Was there nowhere for the townspeople and local Pokemon to take refuge? Thankfully, most of the town managed retreat to Mirrorstream Cave. However, the incident was not without loss. Several people sustained injury from flying debris, many people's homes were destroyed, and the attacking Pokemon were still wreaking havoc on the town as they continued creating a barrage of Whirlwinds and Tailwinds that would ultimately lay waste to the entire city if nothing were done to counter it. Among the townspeople hiding out in the cave, one lone trainer stood up and said, with tears in his eyes, "We don't have to let this happen. I don't know where these Pokemon came from, but we can't let them destroy our homes." Pausing to collect himself, he continued: "I don't know about you, but I think we need to fight back. This is Auria, darn it! Surely some of you have some Ice Pokemon in your possession?" One trainer stood up and said "W-well yes, I have an Aurorus who knows Aurora Beam and Blizzard, but she's never had to deal with this many Pokemon at once..." Another trainer stood up and said "My Abomasnow knows Blizzard too!" excitedly, his voice echoing through the cave. Another trainer stood up "My Klinklang can handle it too! It's a Delta, so its Electric attacks should have an extra punch to them! Those crazy Flying Pokemon won't know what hit 'em!" Feeling encouraged and ready to fight back, practically every trainer in Cleargate City now filed out of the cave and readied their Pokeballs. The attacking clones halted their attacks on the city, turning their attention on the group of Pokemon trainers emerging from their shelter. "Aurorus, I choose you!" "Jynx, go get 'em!" "Come on Klinklang, zap 'em right out of the sky! Auria style!" Much of their town may have been lost, but they weren't about to let it be completely destroyed. Not without a fight. |
Standing on the outskirts of Cleargate city was a man. A shady man. He only knew one thing. He knew that this madness needed to be stopped.
Godot was not alone. He had his Pokémon with him. He ruffled his white hair and he sent out his Skarmory. He rode his Skarmory toward Cleargate City and he commanded it to use Sandstorm. It was pure chaos. He fell of his Skarmory when they were attacked by a rampaging Dragonite. Godot quickly withdrew Skarmory and sent out Lucario. He commanded Lucario to use Dragon Pulse and he was successful in doing so but it wasn't able to take out the dragon. The Dragonite used Hyperbeam while Lucario countered it off with an Aura Pulse. Thus was followed by a flash of bright white light. The Dragonite was heavily injured and Godot was nowhere to be found. |
Great post, Frostblade! Cleargate City needs all the help it can get. I'm really interested to find out what happened to Godot.
Also everyone, the main post for Auria in the Yōko thread is up! I posted it yesterday, but I've made some updates to it just moments ago. The css has been polished up a bit, and I added a theme song for the saga! It sort of has a vibe that's a cross between Auria and Yōko, so I thought it would be a good fit. The narrative mostly revolves around Claudia and Articuno, so if anyone else is taking part in the battle, feel free to make a post of your own ^^ |

The sky over Cleargate had never seen such chaos. Fierce flying attacks crashed through buildings never designed to take such punishment. Debris jumped alarmingly, dragged through the streets by howling gusts. The swarm kept themselves high, far from the danger they induced on the city below. The evacuation was nearly complete, but the punishment continued. The army advanced, following the evacuees into the north. At the southwestern edge, a crumpled cottage trembled, heaved, and ultimately fell apart completely to reveal a Mamoswine. Momentarily, a woman far past her prime pulled herself out from underneath it, using one of its tusks as a support. She squinted towards the northern skies, touched her face, put on her glasses, and tried again. Mamoswine grunted a question. "They're giving chase," she answered. "Hm." The shrieking of the army in the distance still reached her ears. What a formidable, destructive force. She shook her head. None of this was harmonious. She patted Mamoswine's snout. "My dear. Will you call everyone? You must do what I taught you all to not." It bowed its head in acknowledgement and walked away from her. She put her hands over her ears as it called to its clan in long, deep howls. It bowed again when it was finished, and came back to her as the echoes of the cries mingled with stronger responses. The woman pulled a reinforced umbrella from the wreckage of her house and popped it open, smiling as it began to hail. Wei wu wei. |
Hey all! So, the judging for the event is over, and Auria has gained 15 points, putting us at a grand total of 20! Thanks so much everyone for your efforts! Now that the event and judging is over, there's some more things I've got planned for the region to make it more interactive and enjoyable, and the Pokedex will also be expanded soon!
Due to a busy week on top of my MacBook giving me problems, I haven't been updating the region as much as I'd like, so thanks all for your patience. I promise that it will all pay off this week <3 |

Let's Go Exploring! Let's Go Exploring! Auria is a beautiful place with lots of things to see. It also has a beautiful, ancient culture, a wide variety of Pokemon, and of course many mysteries. So then, what are you waiting for? Go explore it and experience for yourself everything Auria has to offer! As a resident of the region, there are many things you can do. You can travel, sight-see, challenge the Pokemon league, solve the mysteries of Auria's past, or discover and learn more about Auria's unique Delta Pokemon! The various actions you have the option to take will allow you to properly experience Auria, and even achieve your legacy in the region by being the first to discover a Delta species or charting new unexplored sectors of the region! The possibilities are literally endless. Traveling At any time, you may [travel] to a location adjacent to your current location. This will take time, normally between 2 and 5 days depending on the physical distance between the two locations, and how harsh the conditions are on the path between the two locations (e.g. if there is a blizzard taking place on a certain route, if it requires traversing mountains, etc.) Once you arrive at your destination, you will receive an update notifying you of your arrival, as well as a post providing the following information about the location:
Actions Once you've arrived at a location, there are various actions you can take there. You can take a total of three actions at a location. After that, you'll need to either [travel] or [rest] to get a new set of actions. The following are common actions:
Exploring There are lots of caves to explore in Auria. Whenever there's one nearby, you can take the [explore] action, at which point you'll enter the cave. In caves, you can battle wild Pokemon, discover mysterious artifacts, or even occasionally encounter legendary Pokemon. Exploration works as follows: Survival Gear: In order to explore a cave, you must have survival gear on hand. Survival gear can be purchased at most shops across the region. It consists of the following items: water bottle food supply flashlight sleeping bag portable heating lamp escape rope (optional) If any of the essentials (all but the escape rope) are missing, you will not be able to enter a cave. So if you're looking to explore a cave, you'll have to purchase the proper gear first. The escape rope isn't essential, but it'll make your life much easier when exploring caves as it will allow you to exit the cave instantly once you're ready to leave. Floors: Caves in Auria are large and complex. As such, a cave will have multiple floors. Some smaller caves have around 3 floors, but larger caves can have as many as 15 or more. Proceeding to the next floor (or backtracking to the previous one) will consume one [travel] action. Each floor is considered its own location, and as such, you'll receive all the standard information you'd receive when you enter a location, such as indigenous Pokemon, actions you can take, etc. It's worth noting that each floor may have a unique set of Pokemon available. Discoveries There are different types of discoveries you can make. Of them there are two major types: Delta Pokemon: Delta Pokemon are a unique phenomenon to the Auria region--they're rare Pokemon with alternate typings and divergent behavioral, and in many cases, biological traits. However, little is known about them and many are still undiscovered. If you happen to find and catch a Delta Pokemon in the wild, you will be credited in the Deltadex as being the one to have originally discovered it! Upon discovering a Delta, you will receive a Pokedex description of it, its alternate typing, its traits, and other things that set it apart from its non-delta counterparts. The more you travel with a Delta Pokemon, the more information that will be filled into its Deltadex entry. Artifacts: When exploring caves, you may come across mysterious items, such as a gem, an orb, an interesting looking stone, etc. These are known as artifacts. They may have some significance or effect. For example, it might be the key to unlocking a hidden area in a cave, it might be a hold item that causes your Pokemon to level up faster, or it might just be an artifact that gives some insight into some of the events of Auria's past and have no effect beyond that. In order to find out what an artifact does, you can [research] it if you're in a town that has a research institute. Once you've chosen the [research] action, you will be given all the information that the institute of your choice was able to provide. However, there's no guarantee that every research institute will be able to provide information on the artifact you're interested in. In general, the deeper within the caves it was found, the more work it'll take to research. Alternatively, you can always experiment on an artifact yourself using your custom actions. Research Institutes The following is a list of research institutes where where you can [research] artifacts that you find in your adventures: Arcadia Seismology and Oceanography Lab: Located in: Arcadia City They study the seismic activity in the region, and monitor the oceans via an underwater sonar array. They're always happy to accept any questions that adventurers may have about artifacts they find on their journey, as it assists in their research. Generally, they can provide the most insight on stones. Their primary method of research is analyzing the energy signature of an artifact, so most often they will be able to tell you whether or not a stone has a hidden power of some kind. Sometimes they'll immediately know what an artifact is, but you'll most often have to wait a few days before you receive the lab's test results. Professor Spruce's Lab: Located in: Route 401, just north of Floacea Town Professor Spruce specializes in the Delta phenomenon. If you suspect that an artifact is related to the Delta phenomenon in any way, Professor Spruce is who you should go to. She's quite a busy woman though, and multitasking isn't her strong suit, so it may be a week or so before she gets around to it. But she's very intelligent and reliable, so it may be worth the wait. Cleargate Library: Located in: Cleargate City The library in Cleargate City is the largest library in the region. You'll find all kinds of information here. Researching at the library works a little different from going to a lab and asking an expert to study it for you. When you choose to [research] at a library, you will receive information from books that will give general information, but you'll have to draw your own conclusions about the artifact from the information you're given. In addition, you can [research] an artifact at a library multiple times and get new information each time. Researching at a library is good for adventurers who want to gain more advanced knowledge on an artifact, or who suspect that there may be more to an artifact than what the experts say there is. Always keep in mind that the experts don't know everything! Battles If you want to battle another trainer, you can do so on the World of PC battle server. Battles can take place either between two trainers who happen to be in the same location, or between a gym leader and a trainer who is present in the gym leader's town. All battles will result in a gain of EXP, and occasionally a transfer of prize money. Prize Money: When two trainers battle, they first agree on an amount of prize money that the victor will receive from the losing party. In the case of trainer battles, this is entirely optional--trainers can battle just for fun, if they prefer. In the case of gym battles, the winner will automatically receive a sum of money according to the following (when the player loses, they forfeit 1/4 this amount): 1st gym: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/8c/Pok%C3%A9monDollar.png1000 2nd gym: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/8c/Pok%C3%A9monDollar.png1500 3rd gym: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/8c/Pok%C3%A9monDollar.png2000 4th gym: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/8c/Pok%C3%A9monDollar.png2600 5th gym: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/8c/Pok%C3%A9monDollar.png3200 6th gym: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/8c/Pok%C3%A9monDollar.png3900 7th gym: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/8c/Pok%C3%A9monDollar.png4500 8th gym: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/8c/Pok%C3%A9monDollar.png5400 This amount is paid by the Pokemon League, not the gym leader :) Be careful, gym leaders! His reason on wanting to become a trainer is because he just wanted to be one. (For variety of reasons, to be honest.) His journey will give him answers to what he really wants to do in life. He doesn't live in Mistview Town but somewhere else. Someone just sent him there. Though why a Feebas is his starter is a mystery. Either way, no one knows much of him. He moved to live with his older sister in Borealla when she had been appointed as a gym leader. Upon turning 16, she gave him his own Magnemite to start his adventure. Kabraxis has heard many tales of when his sister was travelling and exploring. About how dangerous and wild the land was beyond the city. He heard about her ideals, to help make the region more accessible and safe. Unfortunately, being a gym leader now meant that his sister was required to stay within the vicinity of the city. With his sister being unable to attend both her dream and the her gym, Kabraxis has taken it upon himself to become a strong trainer to contribute to their home region of Auria. |

~BOREALLA CITY~ Kabraxis heard his sister entering the living room and with a yawn she asked, "Any news this morning?". He simply pointed to the television in front of him and mentioned the snailiness of the recent mining operations nearby. Kryxalys simply sighed and said, "Well, I wish I could help out but I'll be busy at the gym... as usual. Would you mind looking into it for me, kiddo?" "I'm not a kid anymore, sis!" he shouted as he jumped off the couch to face his sister. "You listen here, now! When I reach your age, I'll surpass you and start referring to you as the kid!" Kryxalys laughed it off and with a wave of a hand she said, "Like you'll ever beat me in a battle anyways. You're getting more feisty now that I've given you your first Pokemon. Anywho - go make yourself useful and check out what's up for me. AND DON'T BE LATE!" Kabraxis mumbled in complaint as he slid on his pair of shoes and looked over at the table beside him. "Well, maybe I'll finally know what it's like to be a trainer now!" He grabbed the ball and attached it to his belt and headed out the door, towards the mining facilities. [INVESTIGATE] |

[Attempt to use Magnemite to provide power to the mining equipment] if not, then: [Descend into the mine] |
Claergate was a mess. Getting better, but still a mess. Harper looked around for Ulrich, who he knew would be out and about again today. He and Gran had salvaged most of their necessary belongings from the wreckage of the cottage, but most of his survival gear had been a casualty. Being that he made most of his money from guided cave tours, it was kind of a necessity for him. "Welcome, welcome! Glad you decided to stop through Cleargate! We're always happy to have travelers. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a fixer-upper at the moment--not much to feast your eyes on, if sight-seeing is what you came for. Haha! But we're rebuilding, and making good progress. We'll be back up and running in no time. But, I'm sure you didn't come for me to talk your ear off about that. Here's what we've got for sale!" Harper smiled as he approached the little group gathered around the merchant. "Hey, Ulrich." "Hey, Harper! What's a master explorer like you need from me, eh?" "Just a survival kit, please. Mine got caught up in the mess, unfortunately..." "Ah, too bad, too bad," Ulrich pocketed the proffered money as he handed over the wares. "Good luck getting back into it around here; don't think much is gonna be going on in the way of tourism for a while. Got a mess to clean up, don't we?" "Yeah. Thanks, Ulrich. See you next time." Harper wandered off slowly, organizing his gear into its usual positions in his pack, and after a short while fell flat on his face. "Wh--" An Eevee ran into his line of sight and put its nose in his face. "Vee?" "Oh, hi. Did you run under my feet?" The Eevee put its paw on his face. "Oh I see." Harper cocked his head thoughtfully. "Are you lost? Do you have a trainer?" It shook its head. "Huh. You know, I know a guy who's looking for an Eevee... Do you think you want a trainer?" |

Ace Trainer Jeremy Jeremy pondered his decisions. There were certainly many things to do in Shizora Town, but none of them really seemed to interest him. He had other plans. He released his newly acquired Riolu from its Poké Ball and stared at it lovingly. "It's time for you to evolve," he whispered to his companion. He then began to do something that no other trainer had dared to before. He started petting Riolu. |

For some reason, Oliver had an inkling that there was no improvement after the battle between his Pokemon and the wild, random Tangela. That was to be expected, however. It was to be expected, Chrome was not used to battling, he was still a novice. And, even though she did her best, Lazuli was "useless" in battles when described by a harsh trainer. He didn't think so because she taught him not to judge a Pokemon's worth by their skills and appearance, even the best Pokemon are brought down by a "weakling". Oliver went crouched down to hug Chrome, his new Pokemon given by the Professor, to his chest and squeezed. The Delta Eevee protested but ended up snuggling back. Lazuli was back to her Pokeball. He let out a soft sigh, mumbling to himself, "What should I do, Big Sister..." But she was not here to help him. Besides, it was now his decision on what he should do- that was the point of this journey, right? Not just to hone battle prowess but also to have a growth in character. He did not know how he will grow in person though... it was still the start of this journey to self-growth. With a burst of determination, he shot up and ran east. A moment later, there was a thud and a garbled "oof!" and a yelp signaling that he just tripped. Oliver decided to headed [east], towards the Mistview Forest. |

Chris with his Froslass!" announced the announcer. The crowd cheered, but Chris doesn't have the same enthusiasm anymore. After all, he won dozens of ribbons over the years in Sinnoh and Auria. He stepped out the building as the wind whipped his face. He called out his Togekiss and petted her in her favorite place-right under her ears. “Hey, buddy. We’re going to Azumithal Town. Wouldn’t it be awesome to climb one of mountains there? “Murmured Chris. “Toge!”Responded Togekiss. Chris climbed onto the back of her back, and he became going up into the blue sky. It always left Chris breathless, even though he experienced it so many times. “There’s Pidgeot, a Togekiss like you, a Vaporeon, and, oh! I could’ve sworn I saw a Dragonite!”Exclaimed Chris loudly. He saw the town with beautiful and huge mountains that left him breathless. “Togekiss, we’re approaching Azumithal Town! Please go down!”said Chris. He braced for impact like always, but amazingly, they landed with a soft “Thud”. “It’s time to go back inside your pokeball, friend. Return.”said Chris. He looked around town for a restaurant, or even a drug store with pieces of candy, even though he doesn’t have a sweet tooth. Finally, he found a place called “400 Lux”. It didn’t look appetizing at first sight, but Chris still went in. He ordered rice balls, salad, and a soda called “Twilight Storm”. He devoured it all in a few bites, and bought some pokemon food for all his pokemon-Togekiss, Gliscor, Gallade, Froslass, Magnezone and Altaria. “Hey, friends! Here’s some pokemon food for you to eat!”said Chris. They scurried around and played for a bit, until Chris called them back. He got a visiter guide to the town, but it was no use. Being a brave and daring teenager, he decided to climb the mountains instead of simply flying up a mountain. Where is the fun in that? Chris started running an even pace, with a few water breaks in between. After running a few miles west, he found a mountain. It was huge, with snowflakes dancing around his eyes. He was only wearing a simple polyester shirt and some jeans, so he wished that he had was wearing something warmer. But then he remembered the oath he made to Lord Arceus back when he was 9. He promised that he would climb a tall mountain, even if he died while climbing. This was for avenging the deaths of his older sister and brother. They tried to climb Mount Cassius, but died while going down, getting caught in an avalanche. Officer Jenny and her police squad never found their bodies. Yes, having dead parents and siblings can do something to you. He weighed his options-climbing a mountain and possibly risk dying, or become a wussy, turn back, and return to his grandparent’s house and maybe getting caught and getting shown on live T.V. Yes, he chose climbing the mountain. He got out the climbing materials and started climbing the mountain, realizing it didn’t have a name. “Hm, it doesn’t have a name. I think I will call it Mount Wonderland.”said Chris. He saw many ice type pokemon, but the signs of hypothermia and frostbite was beginning to show. “Oh, this is bad.”said Chris. He saw a small cave inside Mount Wonderland, and crawled inside. He opened a bag of salad, and began to eat. Slowly but surely, his body temperature began to go up. He got some of the color back into his body, and walked back outside. It was worse outside than before. He only saw white, before something shook the whole mountain, and snow began to slowly tumble down. It was an avalanche. He didn’t have time to even open his mouth before he started falling. Then, he finally screamed. And screamed. And screamed. |
Congratulations! :) You've received the first trophy we've got, although you may get a few more as I dish them out across the week. Feel free to put it in your first post or whatnot :).

One little thing though, Robert being a former champion alters the lore a bit. So for canon reasons, he'll have to be someone who defeated Claudia and continued on his journey, the same way the main character of the main series games does, as opposed to someone who defeated a previous champion and replaced them as the sitting champion. (Let me know if I could be explaining this better haha) Hope you're cool with that! |

He never aspired to be a Gym Leader, or even the Champion of a region. Instead, he was just a wandering soul that liked to take in the beauty of the Pokemon world with his small team. His father was a higher up at Silph Co. in Saffron City in Kanto. As such, he wasn't home very often *Blaine lived on Cinnabar Island*. He left an Eevee for Blaine to take care of, and when Blaine was old enough, he set out on his own journey. Along the way, he had encountered a shiny Vulpix and it's old trainer, who was not very kind to the poor creature, due to it's coloration. Blaine offered his entire collection of Pokemon Cards in exchange for the Vulpix. Long story short, Blaine maintained the team you see above, traveling the world in a quest for adventure. So far, he's traveled the entirety of Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/ and even Unova. On his way to his next adventure, he decided to make a quick stop in the Auria Region, having heard of the Region's legendary, breath-taking views and unexplored cave systems. Blaine had arrived shortly after the Cleargate attacks *assuming you're still taking people in*. Blaine is listed as an Ace Trainer, but generally does not participate in battles. He however, does not oppose the concept of Pokemon battles. |
