Mega Sableye team partners help :)
So here is my team :
Donphan (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Sturdy EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Stealth Rock - Rapid Spin - Earthquake - Stone Edge I wanted a Pokemon to set up rocks and also Rapid Spin them away all at once to save team slots. So, I initially I chose Specially Defensive Excadrill(SR, RapidSpin, EQ, IronHead) but through battling I figured that his Ground weakness was annoying at times so I switched to Donphan. Donphan has very good physical bulk and also with this set he is similar to Excadrill but he doesn't have a ground weakness. He is physically bulkier and specially almost as bulky as the mole. His attack is also quite good. Dragonite (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Multiscale EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Outrage - Extreme Speed - Fire Punch - Earthquake Dragonite is my wallbreaker. He is absolutely great. I try to rapid spin hazards before letting him in in so that Multiscale can activate. With CB, his attacks are very powerful and he is a great cleaner with ExtremeSpeed. I like him :) Clefable (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Unaware EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Moonblast - Wish - Protect - Heal Bell My biggest fears in battle are hazards, statuses and a strong opponent managing to set up and sweep. Hazards are taken care by Donphan. So, what's a better way to deal with status and setting up? Unaware cleric Clefable. She is good and also manages to kill opposing Sableyes. Serperior (F) @ Miracle Seed Trait: Contrary EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Leaf Storm - Giga Drain - Hidden Power [Fire] - Dragon Pulse Another powerful Pokemon I just chose to put in my team. I like her and she is very useful so long. Mid-late game sweeper. She gets in and Leaf Storms her way to victory :) Sableye (F) @ Sablenite Trait: Prankster EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Calm Mind - Recover - Will-O-Wisp - Shadow Ball Yuh, my mega. He is always kept a secret till the end. He is my win condition. Mega Sableye is so awesome in so many ways. I can use him as a plain prankster sableye in the beginning too but carefully. Anyway, in the end he wrecks the opponent. Zapdos @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 248 HP / 176 Def / 68 SAtk / 16 Spd IVs: 30 HP / 30 Def Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Thunderbolt - Roost - Heat Wave - Toxic Zapdos is my answer to Talonflame and Azumarill(well not really but it can take a hit and respond with bolt). It's also very useful with Toxic. Anyway, this team is good but I am kinda indecisive about which Pokemon I have to use. Donphan or Excadrill? Also I am thinking of replacing Donphan and Zapdos with those two : Landorus-T (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Intimidate EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SDef / 8 Spd Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Stealth Rock - Stone Edge - Earthquake - U-turn Tentacruel (F) @ Black Sludge Trait: Liquid Ooze EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 28 SDef / 16 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Acid Spray - Scald - Rapid Spin - Mirror Coat Landorus sets up rocks and kills talonflame while Tentacruel rapid spins and kills azumarill. Also, Acid spray is so fancy!!! |
Donphan isn't worth using over Excadrill. Sure, it has Sturdy, but Excadrill has a better defensive typing, and better special bulk. It also has Mold Breaker so its Earthquake can hit Levitators (Gengar and Wash Rotom being prime targets, as they're weak to Ground under normal circumstances) and guarantees that it gets Stealth Rock up vs. Magic Bouncers. Excadrill's Ground weakness can easily be addressed with the right teammates:
-Earthquake -Iron Head -Rapid Spin -Toxic/Stealth Rock Nature: Careful EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 SDef Item: Leftovers Ability: Mold Breaker |
Okay. Is the rest of the team good? I am trying to make the most solid mega sableye team cause I love sableye.
Should I keep Excadrill and Zapdos or switch to Landorus and Tentacruel?? |
You need either Excadrill or Tentacruel on the team. You currently lack a Fairy resist, which is important in general but especially so on a Mega Sableye team since Fairies straight up beat it.
|
If you do decide to use Tentacruel, Mirror Coat isn't worth it because despite Tentacruel's good special bulk, it doesn't have much room to fit Mirror Coat in, since it has better options to use that last slot:
-Scald -Acid Spray -Toxic Spikes/Knock Off/Sludge Wave -Rapid Spin Nature: Timid EVs: 248 HP/216 Def/28 SDef/16 Spe Item: Black Sludge Ability: Liquid Ooze |
Is there a reason, why you run Unaware Clefable instead of one with Magic Guard? Unaware Clef gets worn down easier, even with access to Heal Bell (which in a worst case scenario, can get stalled out of PP really fast) and you can still run Thunder Wave on Clef to make your opponent's sweeps harder.
