I'm sure you just aren't giving yourself credit where you should. Me though... I can make almost decent sprites and music, but mostly I'm good at bringing characters to life and writing stories.

starseed galaxy auticorn September 9th, 2015 3:01 PM

One of my biggest talents is writing. Not just stories, but writing is also a way for me to express myself. I could write a whole book on my life story. Hell, I could give you a monologue on explanations that I can't quite say verbally. It's crazy, and a lot of people are baffled by it because they think it's an amazing ability.

Alfieri September 9th, 2015 3:30 PM

#notalentclub

I don't have any talents I can think of. Most of my hobbies are things people do far better than me. In terms of talent, I'm probably like the average fighter on a Street Fighter tier list.

This is literally me. I've tried my best to invest as much time and practice as possible into tennis, FL Studio, and even my favorite video games, yet I could only ever reach a certain limit with them. :(

Nah September 9th, 2015 4:33 PM

I don't have any skills or talents either....

Lumina September 9th, 2015 5:44 PM

I'm decent at video games.

Bay September 9th, 2015 6:22 PM

I like to think I'm pretty decent with writing. I have my days where I'll compare myself to others and believe I'm not as good as them (and then go "guess I have no talent after all"), but I know there are some people that enjoy my stories.

I used to play tennis for a few years and I was able to improve my skills at a steady pace, but then when I went to college I pretty much stopped, haha.

Crystal Berry September 9th, 2015 6:50 PM

My talents? Well, I'm good at debating people. I'm good at cooking. I have an impressive vocal range (but don't know how to properly utilize it). I have a pretty high IQ. I'm also a very fast typist.

I would hope the Fan Fiction and Writing mod would be good at writing. :P

I'm a pretty good songwriter and a fairly decent drummer. I also have a pretty good knack for math, though if I applied myself a bit more in that area I'd be much better off.

Nolafus September 9th, 2015 9:36 PM

I'd like to think I'm a decent writer. People have told me so, but I have a lot to improve in the area, so I'm not sure. Well, I know I can tell a good story, it's just a matter of actually using the right word choice I seem to struggle with.

Other than writing, I'm also pretty good at drawing, and making music. I'm not great at it, but I enjoy doing it and I think some of the things I make aren't bad. I just like creating things, and that's where my talents are.

Syndrome September 9th, 2015 9:54 PM

is athleticism a talent

Universe September 9th, 2015 10:39 PM

i'm a person of many mediocre talents.

i can carry a tune but i don't have an amazing voice.
i can draw more than a stick figure but can't seem to develop a personal style.
i have a decent imagination but have difficulty materializing it.. words, art, etc.
i can dance but only choreographically, not freely.
i'm above average with video games but never near pro level in any of them.

good, but not good enough usually.

Spinosaurus September 9th, 2015 10:42 PM

I'm good at video games I guess

I'm semi-pro in Smash Bros at least.

Early September 10th, 2015 5:22 AM

Being skilled at procrastinating.
This is one that I think about a lot, actually... I'm an okay artist, but usually there'll always be someone better. But my English teachers often tell me that my essays are the most well-written in my class, so maybe writing (for school, roleplaying, and fan fiction) is something I'm good at? If video games can also count, I'd include those, too.

gimmepie September 10th, 2015 7:30 AM

I'm not a massively talented individual really. I'm a pretty decent dancer, but that's not because of any innate talent. I've had to work my ass of day after day for almost ten years to get to where I am, which is still nowhere near as good as a lot of people.

I do have some degree of creative talent though. I'm a much better choreographer than I am a dancer and whilst I'm only an average writer I can create some pretty awesome stories and fictional universes.

maccrash September 10th, 2015 11:07 AM

music, basically. I can pick instruments up quickly now (and play the ones I've been playing for a long time well) and I hear songs in my head, etc. I'm also a semi-talented writer, I think, but I don't expend enough energy on it to actually know for certain. maybe I should do that.

Laguna September 10th, 2015 11:15 AM

I can make a pretty bitchin' fake Space Jam 2 poster in Photoshop, that's a talent right?

(don't ask seriously)

DEPENDS.

If you're athletic naturally then yes it could be because that's natural ability/skill. If you've trained hard but weren't particularly able prior to that, then no. But you can still be athletic even if you aren't naturally gifted!

My numerical ability is my only natural talent as such. But I have a few tricks up my sleeve that aren't talent alone, like. Not a one trick pony, no sirree.

Sylphiel September 10th, 2015 12:28 PM

I'm very prone to falling into this trap, since I definitely keep seeing people that do this, do that, and I'm just like...yeah, I got nothing of my own, I'm just kind of here.

Then I remember my artistic talent. While it might not quite be at the level I would hope it could be (since I basically quit trying for the longest while), it's always been something I've tended to understate a bit. "Oh, so I can draw pictures...big whoop." Then I actually get back into it and only then do I realize the full extent of what I have, or could possibly have, if I would just stop dropping it for whatever reason.

Aquacorde September 10th, 2015 2:24 PM

no talent no skill no ability to learn what am i gonna do who fucking knows

Ullion September 10th, 2015 2:56 PM

I don't think I have much of a talent for anything. I could say maybe shooting in basketball - but I'm not sure if it's natural or because I've practiced and put the time into learning how I as an individual need to shoot.

I also think I have a talent for learning and picking things up fairly quickly if I'm interested and motivated to do so. <- Which is practically never though xD

Nathan September 10th, 2015 3:20 PM

Well I've got quite the imaginative mind and I can come up with stories easily but never finish them. Also if I set my mind on something, I can learn it pretty fast.

Candy September 10th, 2015 3:29 PM

That's a very good question...

Like, I can be above average and still be an average in almost everything. ;~;

I was born this way

Anyway outside of that nothing comes to mind outside of...idk...making music? Drumming??? I'm a pretty good cook but I don't think that is necessarily a talent.

Bidoof FTW September 10th, 2015 4:30 PM

I've been told that I'm a good writer, but I think that I would need to work on word choice and being able to use more literary devices before I considered it a talent of mine. Which kind of contradicts the whole idea of a talent... right?

Spiff September 10th, 2015 4:40 PM

if I practiced my hobbies as much as I watch cat videos on youtube then I'd probably be a lot more talented

Hikamaru September 10th, 2015 4:53 PM

Apparently I have a talent that proves vital to my mother's grocery shopping, and that is reading the use-by dates on food and the smaller text on price tags. I guess it's because I can also see far distances, which is why I can usually see if a road is safe to cross.

dad September 10th, 2015 6:24 PM

i can put on mascara in the car while my brother is driving, if that's not talent then i don't know what is.

I would think so haha. At least I consider athleticism one of the better talents that people can have.

As for me, I like to think that I am pretty smart. Maybe that isn't so much a talent itself but I like to think that my ability to evaluate and figure things out a pretty solid talent. I've also gotten pretty good at battling so maybe that is a small talent of mine? If there is anything else I'd probably say cooking?

Sothis September 11th, 2015 2:32 AM

My talent is being annoying and obnoxious and frightening people unless they somehow get used to me.
Which is never.
But really, I don't think I stand out much either, most of what I can do other's do better.

KorpiklaaniVodka September 19th, 2015 4:16 AM

I can drink 1 liter of water in one go.

Kura September 19th, 2015 5:57 AM

I don't know why people forget soft skills such as organisation, charisma, and being a general people-person. There is a certain talent in being reliable and dependable. There is a talent with spoken word and body language, too.

"Soft skills is a term often associated with a person's "EQ" (Emotional Intelligence Quotient), the cluster of personality traits, social graces, communication, language, personal habits, interpersonal skills, managing people, leadership, etc. that characterize relationships with other people. Soft skills contrast to hard skills, which are generally easily quantifiable and measurable (e.g. software knowledge, basic plumbing skills).

A person's soft skill EQ is an important part of their individual contribution to the success of an organization. "

It's just as viable as a hard skill. Give yourself more credit! Don't be so scrutinizing :3

Evening September 19th, 2015 6:29 AM

I am good at deception.

KetsuekiR September 19th, 2015 6:52 AM

I can breathe. ;-;

I guess most of us still haven't quite discovered what we're amazing at >~< I guess I'm decent at HTML and CSS here and there, I can dance (I think? I've been told so) and I can write (although I simply don't have the patience for it >.<)...

HollyYoshi September 19th, 2015 6:25 PM

I'm fairy good at Photoshop, though I haven't had much time to develop my skills in quite a while

DJTiki September 19th, 2015 7:11 PM

I have no idea, really. Uh... the problem is that all of my talent in my respective fields is like a speck of dust compared to what others can do in that field. I guess... ROM hacking? Even that's a stretch, since I actually haven't posted anything or did anything contributive.

Writing? 300+ reviews on FF counts for something, right?

If there was anything definitive, I've been told that I have good leadership qualities and that I'm handy with programs often associated with business. That and I have a creative niche. I have honestly have no idea xD

Writing more than 300 reviews on FF or writing FF that now has over 300 reviews? Both are good anyway. Besides, to be a writer, you simply need only two things: lots of reading, and bunch of writing exercises.

Even I can't write that many. Now I'm feeling jealous.
