excellent movie, excellent book. unsure about how i felt about the ending, kind of wish they would've stuck to the storyline but at the same time i'm relieved they didn't

Much classic, so cheese.

Yesterday I went and saw Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I thought it was a great movie.

The_Consumer November 25th, 2016 5:13 PM

The last film I watched was Arrival. That was a really exciting and intricate science fiction movie about aliens!

Esper November 27th, 2016 10:02 AM

Fantastic Beasts was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because the trailers made it look like a cheap SFX movie of action and no heart, but there was a lot of heart.

I just watched Guillermo del Toro's Cronos. Can't recommend it highly enough, unless you really have an aversion to horror elements. Beautiful, beautiful movie.

Just wanted to pop in and share some of the movies that I've seen in theaters as of late :3

The Handmaiden - Park Chan Wook

Arrival - Denis Villeneuve

Moonlight - Barry Jenkins

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - David Yates

Moana - I have no idea who directed this

The last two were fun more popcorny movies, but I absolutely loved the first three. Really looking forward to when La La Land opens and I'm hopefully going to see that opening night.

Watched The American President (from '95) because I want to hurt myself.

Last movie I watched was Cuatro lunas (Four Moons), if you like gay dramas then I highly recommend it. It messed with my emotions for a few days after watching it, but it was so worth my time. It was quite interesting to see how they portrayed gay romance between men in Mexico. Also it is unrated with mature themes just to let you know beforehand.

Today I watched the the cheesiest Christmas movie ever. The last movie I watched was Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

Sektor December 2nd, 2016 2:58 PM

Sour Grapes. Kind of hard to feel bad for people that pay 4,000,000 dollars for fake wine. Rudy Kurniawan got ten years, poor guy.

blue December 4th, 2016 4:47 PM

just watched the conjuring 2, would def recommend if you're a fan of horrors and the like.

Sylphiel December 5th, 2016 7:18 AM

Moana.

Rather good Disney movie, I thought.

Logan December 6th, 2016 5:54 AM

Finally got around to watching Creed and it was incredible; buzzing for the next step in the franchise.

Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope

Now guess what movie I'm seeing tonight. :D :D :D

forg December 16th, 2016 9:46 AM

The Mist

While the movie isn't anything recent, I never came around to watching it until now, when I was convinced to. When given a summary, my curiosity was slightly poked at. As a result, I started watching it with somewhat mild expectations, only to later finish the movie very satisfied.

Spoiler:
The ending was extremely bittersweet to me ):

VulpixVixen08 December 25th, 2016 6:08 PM

Star Wars: Rogue One, in movie theaters.

moon December 27th, 2016 1:06 AM

Bee Movie

Jesus, what even did I just watch

blue December 28th, 2016 6:34 AM

Lights Out

enjoyed it more than i thought i would and ended up being spooked afterwards lmao.

Lunar December 28th, 2016 11:49 AM

I watched The Revenant earlier today, it was really good and the fact that Leo won an Oscar with so little lines compared to some of his other films shows how good of an actor he really is.

Esper December 28th, 2016 12:02 PM

Moana was pretty good, just saw it yesterday. Maybe not see-it-in-theatres-good, but I'm sure kids will watch it over and over.

Dedenne1 December 28th, 2016 12:35 PM

So i did a quadruple feature with my friends yesterday and saw (in order):

Passengers which was the best movie that night and easily worth a 5/5 in my opinion because of the amazing animation, attention to detail, character development and the obvious amazing actors :3

Second was originally gonna be sing but since it sold out we saw Assasins Creed which was the worst one that night. Now I'm not a fan of Assasins Creed so I cant speak much on the subject but the movie had okay acting at best and didnt really appeal to anyone outside of the fandom so it was kinda hard to enjoy it and made it a 1.5/5 in my opinion.

Third up was Collateral Beauty which was most likely good for the average viewer. For me I enjoyed it buuuuut I could guess the ending before it reached the halfway point. I enjoyed the plot, acting and premise though so its easily a 3.5/5 in my opinion.

Lastly was Moana which was (as most disney movies are) amazing. Good vocals, great animation, nice plot, kept me questioning I mean I could go on and on. The only reason I won't give it a 5/5 is because it had some unanswered plot holes which I won't elaborate on because spoilers hehe. Anyways in my opinion overall it was a 4/5 and I will probably go see it again someday along with Passengers.

nocturnal animals

shouldn't have watched it on putlocker because there were five minutes of scenes missing lmao
when i watch the proper version i'll be able to say whether i liked it more - but i felt like while a single man was tom ford's better effort, it's proven that he is by no means a one hit wonder and should definitely be considered as someone with artistic merit behind the camera as well as creating items for it. jake gyllenhaal & michael shannon hit it out of the park, while i thought that amy adams got the look down (the final shot is haunting) but was overpowered by the sheer drama of the story and the much more compelling performances around her. i look forward to what else tom ford can bring us in the future.

singin' in the rain

every single aspect of this movie has held up over the years - even the natural clunkiness of the writing style of the time is endearing and doesn't detract at all. the setpieces are beautiful, the dance numbers stunning and the actors immortal. gene kelly really did no better than this totally-not-cary-grant impression and i can believe every bit of the charisma and debonair persuasion involved. debbie reynolds matched his charm with her own magnetism, combining the natural talent and youthful prowess expected of the golden age with a delightful girl next door charm. absolutely beautiful movie. oh debbie.
