Club NIGHTMARE 🎃 2015

Owner: Meganium

Introduction:
Welcome to Fan Clubs & Groups' SECOND annual "Club Nightmare"! Yep, that's right. It's back and better than ever. After a successful run last year, Meggy decided to bring it back this year to celebrate the spoopiness that is HALLOWEEN. This is your average night club that's located on the corner of Frankenstein and Addams Street. What's so special about this club? It's spooky and it runs like a haunted house, and it's exclusively open ALL OCTOBER LONG. If you’re in for a thrill of your lifetime (or you just wanna casually chit-chat about everything Halloween~), then this is the club just for you. All you gotta do is show up with your awesome costume, and/or your scary faces, and the bouncer (aka myself) will let you in. :)

What will we be talking about, exactly? If you like Halloween just for the candy (like myself), enjoy scary movies, go trick-or-treating (hey, don't feel ashamed if you still do!), a fan of costumes, or you like to show off your awesome outfit, or maybe you have some scary stories to tell, this club will encompass everything that revolves Halloween, even the history of it. Active participation in Club Nightmare will grant you a lifetime supply of Halloween candy a shiny, sweet emblem for you to keep. And trust me, it's pretty tasty.

Emblem:

Sweet, Sweet Nightmare.
Told you this year's candy from Club Nightmare wasn't that bad.

Why the hell not, I can enjoy spooky. It's more because it's outright entertaining than because I find it scary but it still counts, right?

I don't have my plans set in stone yet. Should I take the neighbor kids to T-o-T down in the rich neighborhoods or should I stay home and give out candy (and condoms to anyone who looks over 16 because we have excess and that is a long story)?

I'll join~ I was here last year, and it was pretty fun. My Halloween plans are just dressing up to pass out candy this year. ^w^ I'll be able to go trick or treating next year though. :3

Here's my costume:

I'll join in as well. Halloween is one of my favorite time of years if I'm gonna be honest since it is pretty much the month of scares, and as a horror fanatic and as a person who loves scary things, it's pretty much one of my ideal months to have fun. Plus not to mention the candy, the sweet, delicious, candy X3.

Meganium October 1st, 2015 5:52 PM

woo~ Y'all are in. Welcome :D Let's party!

I'm gonna try to ease off from the candy seeing that I got sick last year from eating excess amounts. So I might as well stick to celery or laffy taffy this year.

I had a coworker that did that last year, giving them to the older kids because he wanted to "promote safe sex" lol.

Nonsense. You must have candy! We must all worship candy during halloween and demonize celery. {XD}

Hello!! Joining.

I'm not doing much for Halloween. Brother liked going trick-or-treating but he doesn't want to much anymore since mom would throw away all the chocolate he got since he ate too much.. xD I get why he's frustrated over it but it was sooo hard keeping him from eating more than he should when we weren't looking. :'x

Hell yeah I'm ready for some spoopiness
I love halloween! Unfortunately I never get to celebrate it much because I never make plans haha. Maybe I'll hang out with a friend this year

Meganium October 1st, 2015 9:01 PM

omg janna, my mom used to ALWAYS do that every year after halloween. I just eat so much candy and then after November 1st my mom would just throw it and I'm like WHY. Now I just buy my own candy so I don't have to go through that pain anymore. lol

For those of you who are joining us for the first time, our song rotates every week. Right now we have Michael Jackson's Thriller, but you are more than welcome to suggest any Halloween songs to jam for the week! :)

I'll wait for a few more peeps to arrive and then I'll go ahead and start off with a topic! Really loving everyone's plans so far. Candy is awesome haha.

Sheep October 2nd, 2015 7:45 AM

Yeah I feel bad but it's for his own good. You know how hard it can be to control a child when it comes to candy/chocolate. D: And he's already a very picky eater who wants his diet to comprise mostly of rice, meatballs, and mac and cheese..

Didn't go ToTing myself since I was like.. 12? So half of my life ago. We usually set some candy outside the door for kids and write for them to take no more than three so they don't ring the doorbell constantly. But who knows how good an idea that is since someone can just swipe everything haha.

Meganium October 6th, 2015 11:58 AM

Here's the first topic for Club Nightmare! Are there any Halloween events in your area? If so, what are you guys doing?

starseed galaxy auticorn October 6th, 2015 12:10 PM

Are there any Halloween events in your area? If so, what are you guys doing?

As far as I know, they're aren't. :c I live in a pretty small town... actually, I live away from it. It's hard to explain. Even if there were, I wouldn't be able to attend them because too much different factors (IE. excitement, strict routine, sensory issues) can really cause negative effects on my mental health and other special needs. x____x

Sheep October 6th, 2015 5:37 PM

I dunno to be honest ;_; but I'm sure there are. I'm in NYC after all and there's always something going on here even if I'm not directly in Manhattan. We usually have Halloween parades in the city here every year but not something I ever read up about since I never go. Ahh introversion.

Sothis October 6th, 2015 6:01 PM

IIRC there's a haunted house run on the other side of town! I've never been to it but as it runs every year I assume it does a good job. Otherwise I'm not sure of anything else ^^

starseed galaxy auticorn October 7th, 2015 9:53 AM

Ugh. I can't stand haunted houses. I'm so squeamish about them. ;_____; I'd probably **** myself if I ever visited one. :c We have a lot of super scary horror ones around here too. I don't think I've ever even been to one.

Zoroark Cutie October 7th, 2015 10:05 AM

I know that there is one event that is gonna happen at a Zoo in a nearby city, I don't know exactly what they do, I went to it before many, many years ago, but I can't remember anything about it other than that they give away candy there and have a few extra attractions. I would imagine that there will be another event in one of three nearby towns, where one of them throws a Halloween parade. Both of which I won't be going to.

Otamajakushi October 8th, 2015 10:48 AM

I'm trying to spend the entire month celebrating halloween.

So far, I have the following things planned:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif - Halloween themed Pokemon Y run.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif - Playthroughs of Costume Quest 1 and 2.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif - Rewatch Over the Garden Wall
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif - See what's happening in World of Warcraft.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif - Watch all of the halloween episodes from my shows. I made a channel just for them!

As for dressing up, I haven't done that in a very, very long time, so I still will probably not do that. I think I might do something subtle, maybe Nate from Yo-kai Watch or Reynold from Costume Quest.

Sheep October 8th, 2015 11:36 AM

^You have a lot of things planned! Sounds awesome, hope you have fun. ^^

And omg lol haunted houses? ugh no thank you. I went on a few Halloween-themed amusement park rides before, like those where you sit in a cart that wheels through spooky rooms with jump scares, but I really didn't like it. I am veeery easily startled...

Otamajakushi October 9th, 2015 4:58 PM

Oh yea you bet! This will be the first year I get to participate in the Hallow's End event in WoW, so I'm pretty stoked.

As for haunted houses, not for me! I don't think I've ever been to a haunted house, but I don't think it's something I'd enjoy unless I was with a group of people. So I can't see myself going alone.

EDIT: I have a new halloween avatar! If avatars weren't broken, I'd upload the full thing because he's sitting on a pumpkin!

Hikamaru October 11th, 2015 5:59 AM

Figured I'd take part, so here's my pumpkin...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif

(also, megan will be dearly missed. hopefully a new mod will come in soon)

As for the topic about haunted houses? I don't remember going in one, but then I was still young and easily spooked the first time I looked at one. And just like Janna (Sheep) I get easily scared hahahaha

Otamajakushi October 11th, 2015 10:44 AM

I think Disneyland usually has some neat halloween haunted houses, but I haven't been in years. I wish I had time to go this year.

Zoroark Cutie October 11th, 2015 6:22 PM

With all the talk of haunted houses, I actually remembered this funny time that I went to a carnival or a fair, and I was with a friend, and we decided it had like this haunted house and we decided to go in 2 times and I don't remember who it was first, but I think the first time we came out of the haunted house he was scared, I think he may have been crying as well, and I was just "Oh please, that was nothing" and was ready to go in it a 2nd time and then after the 2nd time we went in I was the one that came out scared (I think I was also crying) and he was like "It wasn't that scary.", or it could've been the other way around where I was scared first and then he got scared after the 2nd time. I'm not a huge fan of haunted house attractions, I find them pretty lame and they don't scare me at all. Although I wouldn't mind actually going to an actual haunted house, like one that is abandoned and has been reported to be haunted by ghosts, or maybe even an asylum, hotel, or hospital.

Sheep October 11th, 2015 7:54 PM

I would seriously have a panic attack if I were to go into a haunted house alone - amusement park attraction or not - and there was some jump scare. Just.. don't even ask me to go. I'm good where I am. xD

Zoroark Cutie October 11th, 2015 8:47 PM

Hey Janna, would you like to go to the Winchester Mystery House with me and hopefully take some pictures of real life ghosts? It would be fun to do for Halloween. X3

countryemo October 12th, 2015 12:28 PM

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif

Not a big fan of haunted houses either, though I think I only been in one, then backstage in another during set up. I am a bit of a scared-y cat myself. :P Still have no idea what I'll be for Halloween.

starseed galaxy auticorn October 13th, 2015 5:53 AM

How about halloween specials/movies? Does anyone watch them? What are your most favorites? (Horror ones can be included if you enjoy them. ^^)

I think the only one I enjoy the most is The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's literally my most favorite ever. Oh, and Hocus Pocus is another one! I don't like horror movies though because they give me the worst nightmares ever imagined. :c

Otamajakushi October 13th, 2015 7:28 AM

Ah the classics: Casper the Friendly Ghost, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The 13 Ghosts. Sometimes I'll also watch a variety of horror films, mainly the Alien series, Jaws, and The Ring series.

EDIT: I don't think I was added to the participants list yet, so just in case: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif

I love your avvy! It's so cute. <3

Anyway, on topic... Casper scared the poop out of me as a kid. :c That one scene where the other three ghosts come popping out scarred me for life! Scooby doo movies are good for Halloween as well, like... the Witch's Ghost or anything more halloween-oriented. I know they did a Halloween movie at one time too.

As I said before, I steer clear of horror movies. :c I'm squeamish.

Witches Ghost is nice, also Zombie Island and Ghoul School are great too! Personally, I've been rewatching The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo and The New Scooby Doo Movies. A Pup Named Scooby Doo also had it's own Halloween-specific episode, which was great!

There is a lot that I can think of. There are two Halloween movies that I do watch, The Nightmare Before Christmas and John Carpenter's Halloween. The Nightmare Before Christmas, I only watched it 3 times, once last year and two times in 2013, one of those times was with my bff and she enjoyed it a lot. As for John Carpenter's Halloween, I always watch it when Halloween comes around since it is a horror movie, it takes place on Halloween, it's called Halloween, and it is one of my favorite films. One day, I plan to watch all the Halloween movies, including Halloween III: Season of the Witch and the Rob Zombie remakes. As for horror movies, I watch them almost all the time and some of my favorites include the Scream series (with maybe the exception of Scream 3), Dawn of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead (remake), Ju-On, Alien, Aliens, [.REC] and [.REC 2] (Haven't watched the 4th movie, I didn't like the 3rd movie, nor did I like the Quarantine movies), and the Paranormal Activity movies which I will be going to the movies to watch the new one, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension.

starseed galaxy auticorn October 13th, 2015 7:38 PM

I forgot to mention, I also like the Disney Halloween movies like the Halloweentown series (with Kimberly Brown only though), Under Wraps and Phantom of the Megaplex. Yeah, like I said... I'm not big on scary. XD

I've watched the Paranormal Activity movies. I've seen 1, 2 and 3... but I decided the rest might be much for me. I do want to see Crimson Peak though, which I don't know if it counts as halloween or anything. YOU GUYS KNOW MY REASONS BECAUSE TOM HIDDLESTON OKAY GOODBYE.

And I don't watch Halloween movies! Never have really. Boyfriend made me watch Nightmare Before Christmas a few months ago though because he's obsessed and I've never seen it. =(

I've never tried to watch a scary movie, I know I'll scream a lot, so every time somebody decides to watch one, I basically nope out of the room. Although, since it's the season for it, I might..

omg yes. Every time I see the trailers, I spazz out over Tom. *______*

Anyway, yeah... I do the exact same thing, Urugamosu! My parents also aren't big on actual horror movies either. I remember being really little once too. It wasn't really a horror movie, but it had a lot of elements of one. Anyway, I was on the other end of the couch with my mom. They thought I was sleeping. So, they watched a movie called Tremors about these giant underground worms. It was scary for me at the time (still is). Well, I watched a little of it. It scared the living daylights out of me. So much that my parents had to convince me that the worms were nice worms. XD

But yeah. I have no plans on watching anything horror-related on Halloween. My plans are dressing up to pass out candy this year. I MAY be able to trick or treat next year. It seems like my dad is finally getting why I like to every year. It gives me a chance to try out new costumes with my cosplay wigs and stuff. ^^

Arylett Charnoa October 15th, 2015 11:10 AM

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif

I'm not really into Halloween movies or specials. Horror movies ain't my thing and I don't go out of my way in particular to watch anything Halloween-themed. Especially since I don't have cable nowadays and I'd have to go out of my way to watch this stuff. Although I MAY watch some of the old Disney Halloween movies again.

Also, my plans near Halloween are to attend an anime convention and cosplay. I still get to wear a costume! I'll post pictures once the costume is complete.

Hikamaru October 16th, 2015 12:11 PM

I'm someone who doesn't really watch Halloween-themed movies that much, I guess it's likely my fear of scary movies that is to blame again hahahaha

Sheep October 16th, 2015 3:04 PM

Added everyone :D

It's not exactly a 'movie' but I saw the first episode of season five from American Horror Story a few days ago. Again, not normally a thing I'd watch but my boyfriend asked and I said yes despite not wanting to since it's horror and blegh. Was awkward at some parts but that's about what I expected from the clips I've seen of it in the past. Has anyone else watched this series?

Can you add me too! :)

As for American Horror Story, I never really got into that show for some reason. I gave it an honest try, but I just didn't get hooked on it for some reason. A lot of my friends like it though, so I may try again some day. It's highly rated, so maybe I just need to watch more than a few episodes.

Zoroark Cutie October 16th, 2015 5:09 PM

I need to watch American Horror Story. It's definitely one of those shows that has captured my interest, but I'm too much of a lazy Pancham that I have yet to watch an episode of it even though I really want to watch it and catch up on all of it because the commercials for the Hotel made me really wanted to watch it. I'm going to try to watch a few episodes sometime this week, if I'm not too lazy.

countryemo October 17th, 2015 9:10 PM

I guess for media, I am a fan of Casper, and some of the more not so scary stuff. Horror movies are not my thing. Do like stuff like Sleepy Hollow [Fox] and Supernatural [CW] though I guess Supernatual isn't as 'horror' as it was back in S1.

Anybody still trick or treat when they probably shouldn't? I still do.. :P

I am *way* too old to Trick or Treat, but I get the experience by playing the Costume Quest games and World of Warcraft. Some years I'll dress up.

Sheep October 21st, 2015 8:38 PM

I don't ToT. I stopped when I was 11 or so. My brother's 10 and stopped caring about it too, he had a bad experience when he went with his friend and a lady screamed at him when he knocked on her door. If you're going to be mean just.. don't open your door at all. :'(

countryemo October 21st, 2015 10:32 PM

Still got to buy costume quest, they should have a sale for Halloween, on Wii u hopefully.

Ouch, that sucks :( Hopefully he'll give it another chance, maybe. Its been hard to get in the mood this year I do feel too old and a little bit guilty; but this neighborhood is dead on Halloween (only a few houses) and I have to take my little brother out anyways, so why not.

txteclipse October 22nd, 2015 11:04 AM

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif Mwahaha Halloween! My second favorite holiday!

Okay so. The ListTM.
  1. This weekend my wife and I are going up to the mountains to get pumpkins. All the ones in stores are old and nasty so it's better to get them from farmer's markets and such.
  2. Still this weekend, pumpkins will be carved and the apartment decorated for our Halloween party.
  3. Next week I'll finish writing the Halloween one-shot I'm working on. That'll get posted here in the fanfic section.
  4. On Halloween proper we'll have the party. We're doing a mad scientist theme, so probably lots of glowy stuff and dry ice. We plan to play Exploding Kittens and Boss Monster, along with some Wii U games. There will be way too much junk food and probably no trick-or-treaters so we'll likely eat their candy too. XD

Hikamaru October 22nd, 2015 2:48 PM

I'm probably the most boring person when it comes to Halloween. My family even tries to refuse gifts from trick-or-treaters, likely because both me and my brother are way too old to care about kids.

Dusk October 24th, 2015 9:43 PM

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Hackman/Other/Pumpkin-Animation.gif I meant to join this club earlier, but better late than never, I guess.

This Halloween I will be at work. We have cute little monster and pumpkin shaped decorated donuts and Halloween themed boxes. The store will be playing Halloween music, too. We're allowed to dress up that day, but since I don't have any practical costumes, I am instead wearing this cute little shirt of a mummy Hello Kitty that says "Creep it Real." {XD}

My favorite way to get in the Halloween spirit is by playing and watching scary video games. Currently I've been playing Corpse Party and watching playthroughs of Until Dawn and SOMA. Has any one else gotten into some spooky video games?

Oh! Speaking of spooky video games... I forgot to mention that on the nights of the 30th and 31st I will be spending time listening to spooky game music in Pokecommunity's Video Game Music Room.
I encourage y'all to join us... if you dare... http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zXacIpSlcAY/U0iU-lPqwwI/AAAAAAAAHvk/8czU1V8pPFI/s1600/shimivn-blogspot-com2014-4-1205jcdragon-bad.gif

I'm not much of a Halloween spirit type of person but grandpa likes to sit around outside and hand candy out to passing kids lol. He doesn't have much else to do. As far as scary games and movies go.. I will definitely need company or I'd freak out. So easily startled. -sigh-

I'll be joining for tonight since I have nothing better to do for the night.

Soo we had a lot more kids Trick or Treat this year than before. Noticed soo many of them outside. We got 7 bags of chocolate/candy and ran out of things to give within a few hours. D: How was everyone else's Halloween?

I had to go grocery shopping that day, and no I don't my family was trick-or-treated at all. Apparently the kids that live around my apartment complex don't seem to have interest as far as I know.

My Halloween was pretty good. I ended up going out to see Hotel Transylvania 2. It was a great film; I highly recommend it!

I worked Halloween away. We weren't really busy though, so I sat there scrolling through instagram and facebook looking at all of my friends who were out partying and having a good ol time. There was this old couple that came through the drive thru and gave us four bags of assorted candy though in a sort of reverse trick or treating type thing? I dunno. It was interesting.

Well, hopefully Halloween will be more eventful next year. There are so many events here in NYC I could have attended but in the end I lazied out and stayed home. Going to be even harder now that I'm a full time employee. v o v

Thank you for participating in this year's Club Nightmare, all! Since Halloween has been over for a while now I'll lock this up and unstick it. See you all next year. ;p
