Mewtwo was gone.

The armies that had followed him - adored Him and trusted His word above all else - were fractured. Many had died in the war, many others had been taken captive. Those that could returned Home.

They came in broken packs, crestfallen flocks. They came carried on the backs of Flying types and dragged across the sea by Water types as they clung to rubble. They returned to the island where Mewtwo had created them and they came to the labs and they mourned the paradise that would have been if only they had been stronger.

And they argued.

They snarled and hissed. Some chose to die rather than live in the filth Mewtwo had promised to cleanse. Some tried to rally groups to continue without Him, but they could not find support and they were not loved as Mewtwo had been.

Until The Impostor returned. He looked like Mewtwo and was not Him. He tried to speak as He had, but his words did not ring with Mewtwo's truth. He was the one who had led the army against Tervani, a mere follower identifiable by the marks upon his body. And he dared call himself Mewtwo as if he had any more right to His name than the rest of them.

Many, desperate for cause, listened.

But not you. They fill The Lab, play with machines that only Mewtwo knew how to operate. But you will not follow The Impostor. Your group has fractured from the False Mewtwo. You do not yet know what you're going to do or how you'll survive.

But you will try.

Horde Quest

Fun for the whole family, Horde Quest is a sequel to Ceriah's entry into the Mewtwo event! The idea is simple! You're on a huge island about the size of the average in-game region, seemingly untouched by humans besides the underground lab hidden in the island's heart. You have no idea what Pokemon live in different parts of the island and a poor concept of its layout! You're also a group of insane and highly aggressive clone cultists brainwashed by Mewtwo!

The game will work something like Dwarf Fortress mixed with one of those forum adventure games where you're allowed to guide but not directly control the main character: You tell the person running the adventure that you want Bob to eat a piece of toast and Bob instead complains that there's no butter. Except instead of inputting commands for one character, you'll be doing so for a small group of clones that have banded together to survive in an unknown environment. There aren't a specific list of actions - just input what seems productive or fun!

Each player gets seven clones, randomly generated from the national dex, and a spot on the grid. If your group thrives, more clones will be drawn to your location and join you. If they don't thrive... they're dead! Your goal is to create a thriving community, fend off opposing factions from your precious resources, and keep your clones safe and happy! Despite the grim subject matter, horde quest will have something of a darkly humorous and fun tone. Feel free to goof around and laugh when all your units die as a result.

There's no list of actions and rules in Horde Quest. The rules and systems exist, but you don't get to see them because you aren't special like me. You don't get to see the grid either! Apply simply by expressing interest and I'll randomly generate your starting point and group. Have fun!

My ideal habitat is a small, isolated island with tall rocky cliffs and tall trees hanging over the edges (which may one day become spiked wooden fences).
It is littered with littoral caves, which serve as the main entrance to the rest of the island (the cliffs are pretty much unable to climbed).

Actions:

TANGELA:
- Begin clearing debris from cave entrance. Pile sizable logs for use.
- Commune with nature (and perhaps gain useful insight from the local plants).

EMOLGA:
- Ascend to top of outcropping (highest point on the island) in order to find a proper lookout nest, and proceed to clean it up a bit. Actual construction will have to wait.
- Once comfy, take in the sights and get a better view of the local flora and fauna from above.
- Relax in the sun.

KABUTOPS:
- Begin patrolling the main underwater entrance. Nothing shall enter our new caves. Nothing.
- Enjoy the feel of the water against your shell-head.

MAGMAR:
- Find a nice little sub-cave to turn into a kitchen.
- Discover you enjoy cooking.
- Be a Fire type.

WHISCASH:
- Begin the slow process of of blockading other underwater entrances to the main cave with silt, in preparation for wooden fencing in the future.
- Nothing shall enter our new caves.
- Nothing.

CLEFABLE:
- Be somewhat of a neat-freak.
- Begin cleaning out small house-caves further in the main complex.
- Start with your own, obviously.

GOREBYSS:
- Put your name to the test. Be an evil sea monster.
- Hunt about for weak prey. Something like a Magikarp would do. Drain them of their fluids, and bring the carcass to Magmar to cook for the tribe.

DODRIO is easily able to follow the plentiful UNIDENTIFIED TRACKS. DODRIO reports back a large herd of grazing BLITZLE and ZEBSTRIKA a fair distance away.

Using its large scythes, SCYTHER successfully clears the base of the hill of PLANTS and DEBRIS.

NIDORINO has begun digging into the HILLSIDE. Construction of HOLE has begun!

YAMASK whips up concentrated OMINOUS WINDS to help it transport dirt. UNIMPRESSIVE DIRT BARRICADES have been constructed around the construction site.

HERACROSS is eager to find DELICIOUS SAP. Searching in close proximity to WHIMSICOTT, HERACROSS discovers a tree which secretes a THICK, WHITE SAP. HERACROSS excitedly tastes the THICK, WHITE SAP. HERACROSS has passed out.

WHIMSICOTT is no longer searching for fruit. WHIMSICOTT has begun attempting to drag HERACROSS back towards camp.

DUOSION has alarmed the construction team of the unconscious HERACROSS.



Cheshire
Spoiler:

MAX begins to collect UNIDENTIFIED PURPLISH-BLACK BERRIES and UNIDENTIFIED DEEP BLUE BERRIES in close proximity to SESKA. MAX loses interest in collecting berries. MAX has begun helping SESKA hunt.

MAX and SESKA use SHOCK WAVE and FAKE OUT to initiate ambushes on STARLY from above. They successfully hunt eight STARLY. SESKA and MAX have become better friends.

EDGAR successfully sharpens many rocks on each other. It is very boring.

HEEVES begins to successfully fell small trees.

LILLIBETH, lacking a basic understanding of carpentry, attempts to better understand the relevant materials. She spends a good part of the afternoon chewing on wood. LILLIBETH'S CARPENTRY skill was ABYSMAL. It is now ABYSMAL.

MILA and SOLA locate a school of BASCULIN in the nearby river. The BASCULIN snap their jaws eagerly. MILA observes the BASCULIN at a safe distance. MILA begins commanding SOLA.

SOLA moves closer to the river - and snaps a BASCULIN out of the water with PSYCHIC! The remaining BASCULIN immediately shoot SOLA with five WATER GUN attacks. SOLA drops the BASCULIN several meters inland. SOLA has fainted! SOLA is lying near the river's edge.

BASCULIN attempts to flop back towards the water. MILA uses TAUNT! BASCULIN has become ENRAGED! BASCULIN pathetically flops after MILA and attempts to use WATER GUN. MILA deftly dodges, striking BASCULIN with ACROBATIC blows. BASCULIN is unable to defend itself! BASCULIN has fainted! MILA has successfully hunted one BASCULIN.

The remaining BASCULIN are not interested in eating SOLA - it is a hunk of solid rock. MILA waits patiently until she can retrieve SOLA.

MILA'S LEADERSHIP SKILL was UNTRAINED. It is now NOVICE.



Lost
Spoiler:

There are many entrances to many cave complexes. KABUTOPS begins patrolling the largest entrance to a PARTICULARLY LARGE CAVE COMPLEX leading to the surface of the island. The outermost PRIMARY TUNNEL is fully submerged. The inner area is damp, but otherwise free of water.

The cool water is particularly enjoyable against KABUTOPS' shell-head.

TANGELA clears the upper cave entrance area of shrubs, twigs, and stones. TANGELA attempts to commune with NATURE. NATURE does not seem interested in communing back.

There is very little sediment to be found within the caverns. WHISCASH begins to slowly fill in a submerged tunnel with sand. WHISCASH tires of this. WHISCASH collapses a submerged tunnel with MAGNITUDE.

GOREBYSS successfully evades a hunting SHARPEDO. GOREBYSS has successfully hunted a REMORAID. GOREBYSS is unable to reach MAGMAR. CLEFABLE has collected the DEAD REMORAID.

MAGMAR claims a DEAD END closer to the surface in the CAVE COMPLEX. MAGMAR has discovered it enjoys burning things! MAGMAR continues to be a FIRE TYPE.

CLEFABLE presents MAGMAR with the DEAD REMORAID. MAGMAR attempts to heat the DEAD REMORAID. DEAD REMORAID has become BURNT REMORAID. After observing the effects of fire on the DEAD REMORAID, MAGMAR understands cooking slightly more. MAGMAR'S COOKING skill was ABYSMAL. It is now UNTRAINED.

CLEFABLE is BOTHERED by the haphazard layout of the CAVE COMPLEX. There are no convenient house-caves. CLEFABLE begins cleaning out drier tunnels in preparation for habitation.

The highest point on the island is a collection of SMALL UNEXPLORED MOUNTAINS on the opposite side of the SMALL ISOLATED ISLAND. EMOLGA does wish to go there. EMOLGA becomes comfortable atop a tree atop an outcropping. EMOLGA begins scouting the surrounding area. EMOLGA has observed STARLY on the island.

QUILAVA has become the EXPEDITION LEADER. QUILAVA'S LEADERSHIP skill was UNTRAINED. It is now NOVICE. QUILAVA begins training her COMBAT skill.

VOLBEAT begins scouting the surrounding area. VOLBEAT observes a LARGE AGGRESSIVE HIVE of BEEDRILL to the west. VOLBEAT warns FLOETTE to avoid collecting flowers to the west.

FLOETTE is THANKFUL to VOLBEAT.

MORALE is important! FLOETTE begins making FLOWERY DECORATIONS for the campsite. FLOETTE creates many PLEASANT FLOWERY DECORATIONS.

There are no nearby trees the two-foot tall TORKOAL can knock down. TORKOAL begins digging the fire-pit. TORKOAL has completed construction of FIRE-PIT.

BIBAREL begins gnawing through trees with her LARGE, TREE-GNAWING TEETH.

SNORLAX samples the UNIDENTIFIED ROUND RED BERRIES. SNORLAX feels FINE. There are now no more UNIDENTIFIED ROUND RED BERRIES.

SNORLAX takes a nap.

MEDICHAM has begun meditating.

The expedition is DESPAIRING over the fall of BELOVED LEADER MEWTWO. They are MOURNING recently deceased comrades. They are DISTURBED by the domination of non-clone Pokemon over the surrounding territory.

All expedition members are currently COMPETENT at COMBAT.

KROKOROK, GOLETT, and ALOMOMOLA are very happy with this habitat.

GLAMEOW dislikes this habitat.

The surroundings are currently QUIET.

AMETHYST and BUCKY enter the CAVERN. The interior is choked with green plants stretching towards the entrance from deeper within. There is the faint glow of light resembling SUNLIGHT from deeper within the CAVERN. AMETHYST and BUCKY continue onwards.

A VAULT DOOR is lying discarded on the ground. AMETHYST and BUCKY have discovered an ARTIFICIALLY SUNLIT METAL HALLWAY CHOKED WITH PLANTLIFE. The sweet stench is sickeningly overwhelming.

JOY eats an UNIDENTIFIED FRUIT OF EXORBITANT SIZE. The fruit is sickeningly sweet. JOY feels FINE. JOY and CHILLI successfully collect seven nearby UNIDENTIFIED FRUITS OF EXORBITANT SIZE of the same variety.

The trees here are much too thick for SCOOTER or PHANCY to steamroll. SCOOTER uses DEFENSE CURL and ROLLOUT to begin clearing large shrubs. It it VERY NOISY.

The sounds of shifting leaves nearby has stopped. The sounds of UNIDENTIFIED BUZZING nearby has stopped.

RICKY SPANISH does not know SCARY FACE.

RICKY SPANISH no longer wishes to cut down trees. RICKY SPANISH is being quiet.

HEEVES finishes clearing the area of smaller trees. HEEVES bulldozes the smaller trees into a corner with his large head. HEEVES begins attempting to knock down larger trees. The many sharp cracking sounds of his head against the trees are VERY NOISY.

LILLIBETH appreciates the lack of trees around the campsite. LILLIBETH would also appreciate a lack of shrubs.

SOLA has a wonderful dream about building a BEAUTIFUL LOG CABIN complete with plumbing. SOLA isn't sure what a LOG CABIN or plumbing is, but it's still a lovely dream.

SOLA is laid out in the sun away from the construction zone to absorb sunlight. SOLA is still unconscious. SOLA requires time to rest and recover to reach full health.

LILLIBETH has completed construction of FIRE-PIT. LILLIBETH successfully collects sticks left over from HEEVES for the FIRE-PIT. LILLIBETH lights a fire using DRAGON BREATH.

LILLIBETH is insulted that you think she cannot light a fire by herself.

EDGAR does not know what a LOG CABIN is. It sounds like an ABOMINABLE HUMAN STRUCTURE. EDGAR remembers seeing many ABOMINABLE HUMAN STRUCTURES during THE WAR.

The fallen trees are of varying heights and widths and still possess their leafy canopies. It will not be easy to stack them into an ABOMINABLE HUMAN STRUCTURE in this state. EDGAR begins by searching through the fallen trees for ones with trunks of similar width. He marks the ones he wants with a SHARPENED ROCK. He will require many trees for this project. He begins marking numerous suitable trees just outside the campsite for acquisition.

EDGAR has been putting a lot of thought into the ABOMINABLE HUMAN STRUCTURE. EDGAR'S ARCHITECTURE skill was ABYSMAL. It is now UNTRAINED.

SESKA decides to accompanying MILA and MAX to the river. The three of them train against BASCULIN together. MILA is training her LEADERSHIP skill.

SESKA initiates battles with TECHNICIAN FAKE OUT. MAX zaps BASCULIN with SHOCK WAVE. MILA offers support with TAUNT and SCALD.

MILA, MAX, AND SESKA successfully retrieve a number of DEAD BASCULIN. SESKA, MILA, and MAX have sustained injuries from their training and require rest.

EDGAR seems too busy to cook the meat. The expedition eats it as is.


HEEVES has been eating shrubs as he works. EDGAR does not wish to eat shrubs. EDGAR happily eats a STARLY and a BASCULIN. MILA does not wish to eat shrubs. MILA warms a BASCULIN over the fire. MILA begrudgingly eats a BURNT BASCULIN. LILLIBETH does not wish to eat shrubs. LILLIBETH happily eats a STARLY and a BASCULIN.

MILA'S COOKING skill was ABYSMAL. It is now UNTRAINED.


SESKA happily eats a STARLY and a BASCULIN. MAX happily eats acorns. MAX was rationed a STARLY. MAX gives the STARLY to SESKA. SESKA happily eats a STARLY. SESKA and MAX have become better friends.

DODRIO has become KING OF THE HILL. DODRIO looks majestically upon its surroundings, one taloned foot raised thoughtfully as it surveys its domain beneath the setting sun.

There is a lot of GRASS and EMPTY. There is also a PYROAR stalking sneakily around the camp. DODRIO caws an alarm and it retreats.

SCYTHER collects the brush into a pile near the entrance of the construction site. Avoiding the trees with poisonous sap, SCYTHER collects branches which are passed off to YAMASK.

YAMASK tries to use the STURDY BRANCHES to help support the HOLE. Its efforts are a bit shoddy.

YAMASK helps pack in the dirt walls and remove dirt from the construction site.

NIDORINO works slowly and carefully, making sure the dirt walls are securely packed. NIDORINO has almost completed the main room.

DUOSION does not know PSYCHIC. DUOSION and WHIMSICOTT have some trouble transporting HERACROSS. WHIMSICOTT tries to speed the process up with TAILWIND. It is still quite awkward.

DUOSION and WHIMSICOTT begin collecting LONG, UNIDENTIFIED FRUIT from around the WATERING HOLE.

HERACROSS fails to wake up. HERACROSS is having a pleasant dream about a GREAT BIG FOREST and DELICIOUS SAP and the CORPSES OF HIS ENEMIES.

Night is approaching.

Spoiler:
FLAIR attempts to motivate the expedition with a BEAUTIFUL HYMN on the MISSION OF MEWTWO. The expedition remembers the importance of the killing and subjugation of non-clones. FLAIR'S BEAUTIFUL HYMN reminds them that just because GREAT MEWTWO is gone doesn't mean His mission can't live on inside of them. Morale has increased!

TULIEP keeps a careful eyes on the surroundings as the group explores along the river. FLAIR, TULIEP, ATHOS, ARAMIS, and PORTHOS discover that the nearby river water is a bit salty. Further inland the river provides adequate drinking water. A STARAVIA is observed further inland, but it flies away before the group gets close.

The group discovers UNIDENTIFIED WAXY BLUE WRINKLED BERRIES near the river. They collect a generous amount of berries and return to camp.

SGT. ZWEILOUS JR. III is assuredly not too old to go exploring. Like all of GREAT MEWTWO'S clones, SGT. ZWEILOUS JR. III is only a month or so old. SGT. ZWEILOUS JR. III does, however, have near a full two days of seniority over the next oldest member of the expedition. You could almost say that SGT. ZWEILOUS JR. III is a veteran.

SGT. ZWEILOUS JR. III is blind. SGT. ZWEILOUS JR. III is unsuccessful at keeping watch over the perimeter.

VOLTIGE sees a lone WINGULL while patrolling. VOLTIGE unsuccessfully does not kill anyone. VOLTIGE has obtained the DEAD WINGULL. VOLTIGE unsuccessfully shares the DEAD WINGULL. VOLTIGE successfully shares FIRE WOOD. SGT. ZWEILOUS JR. III successfully lights a fire with DRAGON BREATH.

RING successfully lays around on the sand and begins to dry up.

RING considers catching a SHELLDER. MEWTWO would have loved murdering a non-clone SHELLDER. A single crystalline tear falls from RING'S eyes.

RING fails to catch a SHELLDER.

SPLASH has initiated an EXPEDITION to the SMALL, ISOLATED ISLAND.

SPLASH encounters a REMORAID a third of the way to the island. SPLASH has obtained the DEAD REMORAID. SPLASH happily eats the DEAD REMORAID.

One variety of UNIDENTIFIED FRUIT OF EXORBITANT SIZE has become ROYAL PLUMS.

ROYAL PLUMS grow on trees, however due to their exorbitant size they often drop to the jungle floor. They are bright purple with bright yellow spots. They have a single, large seed. They taste sickeningly sweet.

CAVERN has become LABORATORY.

CHILLI attempts to cook two ROYAL PLUMS using the tuft on its head. ROYAL PLUMS have become ROASTED ROYAL PLUMS. CHILLI'S COOKING skill was NOVICE. It is now NOVICE.

CHILLI has begun attempting to create POTTERY using mud from the river.

AMETHYST has trouble sensing air movements with the dense concentration of trees, suffocatingly dense concentration of shrubs, and overall level of activity in the surrounding area.

AMETHYST attempts to slice down a shrub, but her claws become caught in the thick foliage. AMETHYST begins yanking out shrubs with her muzzle and collecting various leafy branches for camp.

JOY manages to collect eight more ROYAL PLUMS. JOY contemplates strategies for improving morale, to be implemented once everyone is back at camp.

JOY and RICKY SPANISH have begun construction of SHODDY WALL.

BUCKY begins sneaking up a tree. While exploring, BUCKY observes a large quantity of WURMPLE eating leaves.

YANMEGA OF IMPRESSIVE SIZE has scooped up BUCKY! YANMEGA OF IMPRESSIVE SIZE is approximately double the size of a normal YANMEGA.

BUCKY uses FLAME BURST. YANMEGA OF IMPRESSIVE SIZE screeches and drops BUCKY. YANMEGA OF IMPRESSIVE SIZE uses ANCIENT POWER. BUCKY has fainted. PHANCY fires an ICE SHARD at YANMEGA OF IMPRESSIVE SIZE. It connects! YANMEGA OF IMPRESSIVE SIZE has retreated back above the treeline.

BUCKY'S FLAME BURST has set a tree ablaze!

RICKY SPANISH rushes onto the scene! RICKY SPANISH whips up a SANDSTORM with his SAND STREAM ability. The sands have smothered the fires.

PHANCY quickly removes BUCKY from the coarse, biting sands and retreats back to camp.

SCOOTER does not know TOXIC SPIKES.

After a tense waiting period, SCOOTER begins collecting the UNCONSCIOUS WURMPLE caused by the SANDSTORM. SCOOTER eats the UNCONSCIOUS WURMPLE.

Spoiler:
QUILAVA is no longer training her COMBAT skill. QUILAVA starts a fire using some of BIBAREL'S wood. QUILAVA is now supervising BIBAREL, TORKOAL, and FLOETTE. QUILAVA is training her LEADERSHIP skill.

TORKOAL does not have much trouble digging pits for most of the expedition members. TORKOAL begins digging a pit for SNORLAX. This takes considerably more time.

BIBAREL begins constructing many SIMPLE SHELTERS. They will be done before nightfall. SNORLAX'S shelter will take more time.

FLOETTE places the PLEASANT FLOWERY DECORATIONS on the SIMPLE SHELTERS. FLOETTE makes PLEASANT FLOWERY HEADBANDS for VOLBEAT, TORKOAL, BIBAREL, and MEDICHAM. FLOETTE makes a PLEASANT FLOWERY NECKLACE for QUILAVA. FLOETTE makes a PLEASANT FLOWERY BRACELET for SNORLAX. The expedition is beginning to look very flowery.

FLOETTE starts planning a GARDEN near the river.

VOLBEAT scouts further up the river to the northeast. VOLBEAT discovers a single bush of UNIDENTIFIED ROUND RED BERRIES that SNORLAX somehow missed! VOLBEAT collects the berries and returns to camp.

MEDICHAM basks in the knowledge of the ages. Maybe.

SNORLAX rolls over in his sleep.

Spoiler:
The pile of brush has become considerably larger. Using her SLASH attack, SCYTHER has provided DODRIO with a number of branches and trunks of appropriate size.

The PYROAR disappears into the brush - DODRIO takes note of which direction it leaves in, but is unable to gather anything further without following it away from the camp.

Keeping one head on guard duty at all times, DODRIO begins the slow job of creating a SHODDY BUCKET by drilling into the wood with FURY ATTACKS. This is quite tiring.

DODRIO sure wishes she knew DRILL PECK.

WHIMSICOTT carefully carries one FRUIT in each tiny arm. It is a bit awkward. WHIMSICOTT spends the rest of the day weaving SHODDY SLEEPING PALLETS for the expedition. They are much appreciated!

DUOSION has no hands and does not know PSYCHIC. DUOSION slowly rolls two FRUIT back along the hilly ground.

Plopping the DELICIOUS LIME JELLY surrounding DUOSION'S body against the dirt walls doesn't have any particular effect. DUOSION decides not to do that.

DUOSION tastes the LONG, UNIDENTIFIED FRUIT. The LONG, UNIDENTIFIED FRUIT is round and a deep mottled yellow. It doesn't have much of an odor. The skin is thick, but the inside is soft and juicy. Around twenty minutes after tasting the LONG, UNIDENTIFIED FRUIT, DUOSION begins to feel nauseous. DUOSION
is glad to have MAGIC GUARD.

DUOSION takes her early nap early.

YAMASK begins training his GET A LITTLE BETTER AT IT skill. It was OKAY-ISH. It is now OKAY.

YAMASK continues laboring with NIDORINO and DUOSION for a while before taking an early nap near DUOSION.

HERACROSS wakes up in the evening feeling ill. The expedition members encourage him to rest until he feels better.

NIDORINO is glad that you like it!

NIDORINO has completed construction of the main room! NIDORINO begins construction of NIDORINO'S ROOM.

NIDORINO is exhausted, but feels satisfied after looking over his work. NIDORINO happily sleeps in his private quarters. There is an empty pit in his heart where BELOVED MEWTWO used to be, but his labors have given him something of a renewed sense of purpose. He takes heart in the fact that once their base has been completed, they can begin PURIFYING the surrounding environment.

Nothing of note is observed during the night. The expedition is hungry.

Larvesta: Start a campfire so we can cook the prey Gorgeist scares for us.
The ice cream pokemon (I forgot): Go with Gorgeist and freeze the prey she scares.
Kricketune: Play a soothing melody.

Mankey/Primeape: Punch the Psyduck outta some trees.
