There was no onslaught here, but I did survive the unluckiest.

My god, but it did happen in Paris. Rest in peace.

Yes it is terrible. So many innocent lives lost.

Pinkie-Dawn November 13th, 2015 6:31 PM

Thank goodness it wasn't Jason, since I'm pretty sure Friday the 13th has already past in Paris, but Muslim terrorists are just as bad. 100 dead hostages is both insane and sickening. My condolences to those who reside in Paris having any of their friends or families lost.

Sothis November 13th, 2015 9:32 PM

Yeah, it's really horrible what happened :( then there was earthquakes in Japan and Mexico and bombings in Baghdad and Lebanon.
Crazy day.

Aside from the terrible events that happened overseas (not just in France), I have not had bad luck at all.

Limey-chan November 14th, 2015 12:30 PM

I had quite a good Friday 13th, bought myself a new jacket and upgraded to a new phone.

Awful, awful news about Paris. Thoughts are, of course, with family and loved ones of those involved.

...there are cola trucks??

Of course someone has to bring the cola places!

Sylphiel November 14th, 2015 2:32 PM

If those are here, I've never seen one in person. :T

Not fancied up like that, at least.

TheFattestSnorlax November 14th, 2015 2:36 PM

Speaking of vehicle spotting, I once saw the Google Street View car here in Sydney. Now that's cool.

Sothis November 14th, 2015 3:44 PM

You guys are lucky then, Those look really cool.
I know in this city at least they decorate the buses xD

Tsutarja November 14th, 2015 4:16 PM

Nothing in my town gets decorated that's maintained by the city :( at least parking lots and private businesses decorate though!

Wicked3DS November 14th, 2015 7:33 PM

There's a few decorations around where I am, but not a whole lot yet. I imagine there will be quite a few more this coming week.

Honest November 14th, 2015 9:25 PM

Yay, I'm happy this thread is back. I didn't like Treehouse without it much honestly.

As for decorations, NYC is notorious for decorations. Personally, they can kind of get shoved in your teeth kind of obvious, but its still nice honestly.

Sothis November 14th, 2015 11:08 PM

I like seeing everyone's decorations as we drive by, some people go all out and it's really nice to look at. And some stores have huge light decorations too.

Ice November 15th, 2015 5:50 AM

We're too busy preparing for Sinterklaas before we start putting up Christmas decorations. And even then, in my neighborhood, there usually isn't too much decorated.

Ice November 15th, 2015 7:59 AM

I'd love to see a neighborhood like that sometime. We barely make our front door light up, it must be amazing to see entire blocks

Leviathan November 15th, 2015 8:52 AM

In the neighbourhood where my mom lives, people get hella festive. So many decorations in front gardens!

Livewire November 15th, 2015 11:16 AM

this will be my first christmas in my new neighborhood so i'm not sure yet how festive everyone is, but the street looked pretty lit for the fourth of July and Halloween, so it will probably be pretty festive for christmas also!

alisaie November 15th, 2015 12:13 PM

My family used to drive around and look at other people's decorations it was a lot of fun haha. I think sis and I did that last year actually. For traditions sake.

But right now I'm just mad Barnes and Noble Is Already Playing Christmas music. Not for another week or so please.

Ice November 15th, 2015 12:41 PM

I wonder if my parents plan on bringing the good old DIY Christmas tree back out. That thing is always a beast to put up. Decorating that's probably as Christmas as it'll get here.

Sylphiel November 15th, 2015 4:28 PM

I haven't visited such relatives of mine much in the past long while anyway, so I can't really say I miss visiting them too much. As I recall, it tended to get really hectic around there anyway. :P Although it would be nice to go visit my own parents for a christmas one year. I did close to thanksgiving last year, don't think I could do christmas this year but maybe next year...hmm.

Also, on a random tangent, I actually did find that pumpkin spice tea earlier, eh heh. Walmart came through for me aw yeah.

Sothis November 15th, 2015 11:06 PM

I was usually just my family and grandparents that got together, which I liked. It wasn't too much or too overwhelming. I really miss that about the holidays as a kid.

killer-curry November 16th, 2015 3:53 AM

Holidays are awesome but over here we are having monsuun season so we cannot go out often until we have a sunshine day. Thus most of the holiday time I will go for part time work to buy my wanted stuffs.

Me and my dad used to ride around the same areas of town every year for the elegant displays when I was younger too! We actually did it last year lmao but it seems like not as many houses around said area decorated like they did 10-12 years ago ;;
