I really like how you're shading everything. It creates a lot of depth with a single colour. It does make the clouds blend with the mountains a bit on the first picture, but the lines do segregate the two nicely. The wings on the first dragon also look really cool. I do feel like it's legs are connecting to it's body a bit too far back, as they're connected on the tail, instead of it's body.

killer-curry November 20th, 2015 5:53 AM

Thanks for your comment :D.

The most recent one sort of confuses me with the wings looking like mountains somehow.
But everything looks so cool :3

Thanks by the way!

Yeah the wings really looks confusing a little, maybe I can edit it ( erase and draw again it should be fine) , but thanks for giving your critiques!

Nolafus November 26th, 2015 10:29 AM

I knew what I wanted to say, but I wasn't sure how to say it. I thought about it at work, and I finally found the words.

First of all, these are really good. The dragons look fierce, and their proportions all look pretty good. I love dragons, so I think these are really cool, haha. My favorite one is actually the castle, though. The amount of detail that went into that is amazing, and I love the actual scene of everyone going through their life.

Although, the thing I was wondering how to word was texture. You're very good at shading, but you use the same texture for every surface, smooth. Since every surface is smooth, it blends in to each other, and doesn't make the dragon pop like it should. My favorite dragon is the last one, as the plates and scales on the back and front distinguish it from the background, and the wound on the side adds a bit of texture. Drawing in some scales would help a lot, and although it's time consuming, it'll be well worth it.

I think you're a really good artist, so just keep up the great work!

Well I have been working on making some new texture but its just a little hard to think of. Yeah it is hard to create some awesome texture. But I will try my best to make it better :)

Nolafus November 29th, 2015 11:59 PM

Very nice job with the scales on the last one, I like it a lot.

Loki December 4th, 2015 10:01 PM

Man I only wish I could draw dragons half as well as you can haha- but I love the designs, they're very cool! Like Nolafus suggested, added texture would be great-- and I'd also add that you might look into making a bit more contrast with your values! Like in the castle piece I think it would've been really cool if you'd made the rooftops darker with a bit of heavier pencilwork, or in the first picture with the dragon, it would've been great if the wings were even a shade darker to really make them stand out as a different value.

Contrast is always good! o/

thanks for your comment! Well the dark colors aren't that obvious because i use the scanner. The image results are not quite impressive as the contrast is slightly fade. That means the dark colors are not very dark lol.

Fairy December 6th, 2015 12:30 PM

Do you have any kind of image edit software? Depending on the program, you can add or subtract contrast to really make the darks stand out. Or even sites like Imgur have an edit function where you can crop, brighten, saturate, and add effects to your drawing. I can't comment on how efficient it is because I don't use it, but it's free and may be just the thing you need to make your scan more true to the original!

Anyway, small comment, but I really like how the clouds came out in this piece. They're stylized and float-y looking and I like that. :)

Actually I can tune the graphics by using scaning options, yeah those previous one are using standard preset so the contrast does not stand out.

killer-curry December 10th, 2015 12:06 AM

By the way I upload some stuff here, check it out!

Fairy December 24th, 2015 11:36 AM

The tweaking you did with the pic in your signature is exactly the kind of contrast I was looking for. Well done! And I'm sooo glad you textured out the second dragon with scales, because it adds so much to the piece. That was going to be my next comment, texture, but you're already one step ahead! :)

killer-curry December 24th, 2015 9:43 PM

thanks!

killer-curry January 6th, 2016 5:05 AM

Thx anyways new art updated ^^

Master Snowy January 6th, 2016 7:25 AM

Oh... My... Goodness! What mind boggling art! Just amazing! 0_0

You could even become a manga maker one day, if you wanted.

It is especially beautiful when an artist has their own style to add to (or signify) their art! Great job, Killer.. :)

killer-curry January 19th, 2016 8:04 AM

I have upload some new arts so check it out :)

Circuit January 31st, 2016 8:25 AM

I really love your style. It's hardened and exact, yet still soft to the eyes. Really nice stuff. The only things I can really pick out to improve upon is the water in the pic in your sig. The way water would behave isn't quite how you've depicted it, but it doesn't detract from the quality of the image, so it's just a minor detail really. Really nice stuff though!

killer-curry February 2nd, 2016 3:32 PM

Thanks for that! I will try hard for the water part. Anyways. new art is up!

killer-curry February 14th, 2016 6:54 AM

Just recently uploaded two sketches, Feel free to have a look.

myystogan February 15th, 2016 6:47 AM

Wow, keep up the great work, killer! I just looked through the OP and the main thing I really like about your work is that it's so detailed and elegantly shaded. You seem to take those two elements and make it into your own unique style, which I really appreciate. All those lines that make up your dragons really show how complex your work is.

I love this piece in particular:

Just stunning. I'm a fan of the pose, and the clouds were an amazing touch!!

I really like your line work! You're a very technical drawer, all those lines are super crisp and straight. I think you do a great job on your dragons, but for me, my favorites are the ones where you have more scenery. For example, I love the Chinese New Year picture, the castle, and the one you have in your signature now. I know a lot of the critiques you've gotten have been about contrasting the colors, but I think the way you shade and use your lines gives the pictures a unique look. I really enjoy your style :)

I'd love to see more fleshed out scenes with your dragons too, like the most recent one with the dragon in the ocean.

Del February 21st, 2016 6:07 PM

well done it is pretty amazing, especially the castle one

killer-curry February 24th, 2016 5:06 AM

Thanks for your comments!

I edited my gallery to organize the drawings.

I guess this would be some random sketch here.

Light and Darkness Dragon March 4th, 2016 8:35 PM

I'll get around to coloring your dragon wolf when I get a chance :)

Fairy March 4th, 2016 10:49 PM

Love the color you've added. I mentioned it before in the DCC, but seeing the larger version just confirms it for me. I really enjoy how you layered the blue and the yellow, and the green on the underbelly of the dragon. It feels very complete and cohesive, and really sells the idea of a "water dragon". I also love how you pulled that Magikarp into the picture, because it really looks like a Gyarados would fit perfectly into that setting. Needless to say, even if this is just a small attempt at color, it really did a lot to improve this image. I'm so, so happy that you're exploring these things because it's clearly paying off.

Let's seriously talk about doing a collaboration. I'd love to work together on a dragon. Maybe I can do the framework and you can draw the body? Or anything you want, really! I just think it would be fun. n_n;

Oh thanks, it looks weird when beginning to colour but after a while it looks even more better and better.

Oh that's good! Because currently I have no leading ideas to draw dragons so some frameworks would be great for me to work on it.

killer-curry March 10th, 2016 4:44 AM

Thanks Kirby for making me as a featured artist! I will contributing more to A&D and present the people with more awesome arts. :)

Anyways, new art update! Enjoy :)

killer-curry March 11th, 2016 7:24 AM

Hi all, I will go for a family trip tommorow and will be back on Sunday. Before that, I want to upload a sketch of my second Pokemon drawing, Darkrai. I hope you all can give me some opinion about this. :)

Light and Darkness Dragon March 11th, 2016 7:37 AM

dude I saw that in the chat and was like man that is sick!

Jessie March 11th, 2016 10:09 AM

Wow, this is some great work! I really love your dragons. Keep it up!

killer-curry March 13th, 2016 5:24 PM

Thank you for your comments, I had finished the drawing :). Enjoy!

Juno March 15th, 2016 1:25 AM

Someone really likes dragons. :P

The castle has got to be my favorite one still - the perspective is on point and I love the details, with all the little citizens doing different things. :D

Loki March 15th, 2016 6:20 AM

Danggg killer that darkrai is great!! I love what you did on the shading, blending the edges like that so it looks more ghost-like!! The line weights are also really well done- it'd be cool to see more pokemon like this from you someday- like a gastly or haunter!

PikachuAndEevee March 16th, 2016 4:27 AM

I LOVE THE DRAGONS! Everything here is awesome!

killer-curry March 18th, 2016 7:51 AM

Just got a drawing uploaded, its quite a fast one cuz I finished it about 3 to 5 hours so enjoy :)

Anastasia.R March 18th, 2016 3:14 PM

*Sees Darkrai drawing within recent drawings* hun. I like you already.
I gotta say, yooooo! Your work is great! I'm not a huge fan of pencils but you seem to be really good at it! Did you also use a darker pencil or charcoal for your recent ones? The lines are a lot darker!
These clouds are so stylish I love it! If I could suggest anything it would be maybe darken Darkrai's body a little more. I'm not sure if you'd want any suggestions on lighting and shading because it seems to be your style.
Alright now THIS is interesting and I also adore it. You put a lot of detail and life into it! Your perspective seems pretty good too, which it sometimes a struggle to get right! If you want a few more precise lines or things to align a little neater - I suggest using a ruler or something with a straight edge to lightly draw lines. But honestly, overall I really like this and how lively it is!

killer-curry March 19th, 2016 8:45 AM

Just uploaded more arts! And Thanks Anastasia, I would like to hear some suggestions about lighting and shading too :3

Pebbles March 20th, 2016 4:57 AM

oh you are good
i like the last pokemon and the wolf
nice job man :)

killer-curry March 22nd, 2016 7:57 PM

So I did some experiment drawing stuff and it turned out into Poke Urtz!!!!!

* Waving Both hands and flap around *

Feel Free to look at my gallery :)

killer-curry March 24th, 2016 12:47 AM

Alright I have been working on a dragon art called Charizard, or not. So, I do hope some comments to judge this drawing to see whether it is, well befitting.

The Legacy of The Legends Creator :D March 25th, 2016 3:19 PM

Youre really talented :O

killer-curry March 29th, 2016 7:17 AM

So I have been trying for some Paint drawing, which is quite fun for me to get it done by hours of fails. First time moments lel. So here is the first one :

Nolafus March 30th, 2016 12:14 AM

That's not bad! I quite like it, actually. Your inexperience with the software doesn't really show, honestly. Some of the lines look pretty shaky on the car, but everything else looks great. I think you'll be comfortable on the program in no time.

killer-curry March 31st, 2016 7:11 AM

Working on new drawing!

killer-curry April 5th, 2016 6:52 PM

I have tried to draw some "kampung" ( village ) life drawings and here is one of the sucessful ones. The rest are failed with bad chicken drawings.

PS: Well here are some of my weapon drawings, just to reduce the post count I just combine them.

killer-curry April 10th, 2016 7:33 PM

So, i try to work out more weapon drawings, enjoy!

SmokedPaprika April 10th, 2016 7:45 PM

The shape looks great - the ammunition holder seems to be bigger than the actual area holding it, though, which is throwing me off a bit.

killer-curry April 12th, 2016 6:55 PM

just done with more drawings :3

CDB April 13th, 2016 1:55 PM

These look great! Just a little tip: it seems most of your drawings have leftover pencil smudges & unerased bits floating around - you can get an eraser shield for quite cheap, and those really help when it comes to cleaning up your final image :) What they do is block out parts you don't want to erase, so you can cleanly erase the parts that you do want to erase. Then again, if they're just doodles, there's no need to get that serious haha

killer-curry April 13th, 2016 4:57 PM

I not that serious in cleaning my drawing because I just for pure fun, so assume it as doodles :P.

But I try hard to keep as clean as I can. There's oil stain which I still buggle with ( blame my dirty hands )

and Btw, I often reused document papers so it is not very clean. Papers are not cheap duh.

You can also avoid smudging to a degree (if it's coming from your hands) by having a sheet of paper under your hand as you draw. I was told to do that many times, which I never do, (you have to move it around a lot, guh) but it's still useful if you want cleanness BEFORE having to erase, as the oils from your hand will stain the paper and trap graphite differently.

killer-curry April 16th, 2016 7:55 AM

Thanks Nina for your opinion! It really works though, save the drawing from being stained, now the drawing are more clean but sometimes it still not convenient because I do not feel comfortable but worth a try :)

killer-curry April 22nd, 2016 12:25 AM

So, it's been a long time I haven't post any arts.

Here is the milotic art !

killer-curry May 3rd, 2016 11:40 PM

Xertified May 4th, 2016 1:08 AM

Eyy, I was going to comment sooner, but here I am!
I like how you drew Haunter and Gastly -slightly creepy, but still close to their original designs. Your hatch-mark making is getting better! c: I'd have to say though: I suggest spending some time practicing lighting and shading. Shading from the edges of the lines and working lighter outwards away from your outlines kind of doesn't make sense. That's if you want to improve on showing 3-dimensional figures. Your work is just a bit flat, it's not wrong or anything, but if you want to give it extra life and dimension; giving it shading and weight really helps.
One last thing; I would give another pose for one of Haunter's hands. They look very similar and you have more potential to give it extra personality or emotion if you gave one of the hands a different pose. You can reference your own hand if you need help or I'm sure you can google some hand references. c:

Continue drawing! You're improving so much already!

killer-curry August 3rd, 2017 6:10 AM

more derguns....

Nina August 4th, 2017 7:06 PM

That profile shot of the dragon is very nice! It may be because it looks like you've taken into accounting using a bit more darker shades/pencils like I said, but that might also just be the contract on the image taken. ;p

Either way, I think the 3/4th direction for the head as well as it's eyeing gaze is very well done and I like the look of it! You have one of the older galleries here as of recent, and it's so nice to see you advance in your skill, I'm proud of you!
