Did you use the Pokemon Bank in your ORAS game?

So, thanks to the Pokemon Bank, it's easy to grab massive amounts of Pokemon from any gen 5 or other gen 6 game and transfer all of them into ORAS at once. You could use this to assist in completing the Dex, or if you wanted you could use it to have Pokemon on your team during your playthrough that you wouldn't normally be able to have, such as a Kalos native Pokemon, for example.

So, what about you? Did you make use of the Pokemon Bank in your ORAS game?

Blacephalon January 5th, 2016 11:40 AM

A few times I used it to start over my copy of Pokemon X and to obtain the hidden ability starters. Recently I used PokeBank to transfer the Pokemon from my Alpha Sapphire to my X version because my old 3DS somewhat broke as I feared my digital purchase would be forever lost and I wanted to keep all of my Pokemon considering there were shinies, EV bred Pokemon, etc (Got a new one with my data intact though!)

Desert Stream~ January 5th, 2016 12:31 PM

I wish I had it... I have a ton of gen 5 pokes.

Otamajakushi January 5th, 2016 1:49 PM

I rely on Pokemon Bank heavily, perhaps too much. It bridges the connection from Gens 3-5 and Gen 6, and this is key for my completion of my living dex. Mine is about half full and it'll be bittersweet when it's 100% full.

Aether★ January 5th, 2016 2:06 PM

Immediately when I got the game, I transfered my newly bred team of shines from X via Pokemon Bank.

llysender January 5th, 2016 2:34 PM

Donate monnies for the subscription ploxe.

Although really for someone that mainly plays pokemon for their offline features pokebank is of no interest to me.

At least it isn't a $40 game that you have to sync with the wii u to transfer pokemon.

Nah January 5th, 2016 4:18 PM

I did. Transferred over a bunch of stuff from Y.

And then spent about 2-3 hours manually trading some more from Y to AS because Game Freak sucks and won't let us transfer items via Bank.

Kaiyu January 5th, 2016 10:07 PM

I never once used Pokémon Bank in ORAS. I didn't really need it since the only Pokémon I stored were legendary ones.

Poké Bean January 5th, 2016 11:44 PM

Yep I use it a lot, the extra space is really useful. I forgot to renew it last year so had a brief moment of panic but all turned out ok! I transferred my favourites and others from previous gens to help with the Dex and to transfer between the gen 6 games as it's quicker than trading. I'm really glad they invented it!

Agenta January 6th, 2016 12:57 AM

I have it, and use it extensively for breeding and trading between carts when I don't have another 3ds to use.

Hikamaru January 6th, 2016 4:42 AM

I don't like paid subscription services, given I'm from a low income household. So no, I don't bother with Pokemon Bank.

Five dollars a year isn't exactly highway robbery, that's about 41 and 2/3rds cents a month.

Anyways, I've used bank extensively. I have an insane amount of Pokemon all the way back from 3rd gen I like to always bring over and then teach them new moves/change their abilities with ability capsule.

I sent my competitive level 100's from X to AS. Y and OR are stand-alone nuzlocke games so no transferring for those.

Hikamaru January 6th, 2016 6:29 AM

It may not cost much, but still I hate paid subscription services.

Qibli January 6th, 2016 7:33 AM

Even though for just a 5 bucks for 1 year service, I still don't like using it since the free thing just expired few years ago and I unable to use it without paying a buck for just transfering over.

Kikaito plush January 6th, 2016 8:26 AM

I never used it since the trail ended as I can easily get most pokemon from GTS or wonder trade.

Oblox January 6th, 2016 8:35 AM

Yep I use it, and believe me it isn't easy to transfer loads of pokemon from gen 5.

See how long it takes you to transfer 649 pokemon from Pokemon white.

Now everything is in gen 6 though its hugely useful for transferring complete pokedex etc to new games.

Vintasticvin January 6th, 2016 10:43 AM

I finally broke down and got it a week ago... My Arceus its amazing! I can now use my Kalos team and Friends in OR <3 Best five bucks ever!

Rantiki January 6th, 2016 11:10 AM

I do use it, and as I plan on going back and playing heart gold, white, and black 2 it's going to be needed I would imagine.

Also on one game Hubby pointed out that even with a male and female of every pokemon nevermind the endless duplicates I seem to wish to store, that the boxes in game weren't going to cut it as storage...

Kotone January 6th, 2016 12:16 PM

yes i got the pokebank a few months back. i used it for one day to transfer my shinies over from my platinum. i wish there was an easier way to transfer them to my oras games, but there isn't so i have to play that silly capture game.

YellowTemperance January 6th, 2016 2:08 PM

The only thing I really did with my Pokemon Bank subscription was copy my living Unown box so I could have all recorded Unown formes in Gen VI, ready to trade on over to a future game where collecting them is a sidequest.

The Evil Mewtwo January 6th, 2016 4:17 PM

No, I have bad updating things on Nintendo 3DS.

Sopheria January 6th, 2016 6:30 PM

I've been using mine to transfer Kalos native Pokemon over from Y. I thought about just transferring everything, just to make my Dex completion go quicker. But I decided to complete my national Dex by only catching Hoenn native Pokemon in Hoenn, so the only Pokemon I've been transferring are the ones that can only be obtained in Kalos. It'd be a real pain having to trade them all over one by one, so thank goodness for the Pokemon bank <3

MagmaFlash January 7th, 2016 7:21 AM

I use it quite a bit since I sometimes restart my Omega Ruby to get a fresh start if I have a lot of pokemon built up. I always try to deposit the pokemon that I really want to keep. Then when I start a new save file, I can put them right back into the PC.

I also use it to transfer pokemon from Y to Omega Ruby.

LilBueno January 7th, 2016 11:30 AM

Not until I was done with the main story. Then I moved everything from Y to AS, worked on completing the Dex and, once completed, shifted them back to Y to complete that Dex. I do all my breeding in AS though, but for the most part, my Pokemon stay in the Bank.

NinjaRaichu January 10th, 2016 4:51 AM

Yeah it was really useful for me for transferring everything over from X as I only have one 3ds. I still use it to keep all my shinies and legendaries because i'm paranoid that something will happen to my save file haha

Sheep January 10th, 2016 3:45 PM

Most definitely. I banked around 15 boxes worth of Pokémon from X to move over and that really helped me with the dex in AS.. really love that system and was happy to dish out a few dollars to keep a year's worth of membership.

Knowing we don't have to painfully move over six Pokémon at a time (and do a silly minigame) like in past gens is greaaaat.

Sun January 12th, 2016 3:43 AM

My situation is kinda like Janna, I transferred my Pokemon from Pokemon X and then I completed my Pokedex just like that. In a sense, the shortest time to complete my Pokedex.

But I didn't continue my Bank subscription after that, as I didn't see any reason to use the Bank. I might think re-subscribing for the sake of the Apriball and Dream Ball Pokemon I've collected, we'll see.

Arjay January 12th, 2016 6:13 AM

I use it to help with dex completion, I've got 717/720 on my Pokémon X through catching, raising, breeding, trading and transferring.

Other than that I like to use it to have otherwise unobtainable Pokémon in my team on a new play through. For example, on my current AS team I've got Sawsbuck, Tyrantrum and Empoleon because I find the Hoenn pokedex quite boring.

VisualJae January 12th, 2016 9:06 AM

I use the PokeBank relentlessly. I have boxes of Pokemon including even various Ruby/Sapphire and FireRed ones that were transferred to Diamond, then transferred to White, then transferred via the Transporter.

Most of them are kept for sentimental purposes, as the majority of them were bred and leveled manually. Also really helped speed up completing my OmegaRuby living Pokedex.

Nowadays I tend to move Pokemon around in my X, Y and OR game files, usually for breeding and transferring captured HA Pokemon. I still occasionally transfer over Pokemon from my HeartGold and White files I play once in a while.

SlamJamin January 12th, 2016 1:06 PM

I used it a lot when transferring Pokemon, but now that I've got everything set up in OR/AS I don't tend to need it.

Still, it's useful for when I play through one of the older games and want to keep my pokemon in the newer gen.

Laguna January 13th, 2016 11:28 AM

I have never used Pokébank, I'm too poor for that. I didn't want that Shiny Charm anyway X3

Katchelina January 14th, 2016 1:25 PM

I use it to tranfser pokemon between my X, OR, and AS games but not for storage.
I used it to transfer the entire living dex to my AS shortly after the games came out though I only used pokemon from AS for the playthrough.
I keep one game as my main one for breeding, battling, and trading and use the others to catch exclusive pokemon, more legends, etc. so I use pokebank to transfer pokes from OR and X to my AS game.

oshimas January 15th, 2016 10:46 PM

I've used it a few times to transfer some pokemon for their dex entries and some to come rescue my hoenn team from evading a disaster in the gyms early on. I brought over the Altaria I breeded in X especially for the mega evolution. I kept the bank around to have access to the gift pokemon, those second gen HA's were too hard to not resist having.

Aurora January 15th, 2016 11:09 PM

I used PokeBank to finish the game off because my team was underlevelled and mediocre. I sent up my Sinnoh team full of OU Pokemon and crushed the Elite Four with it.

Starry Windy January 15th, 2016 11:49 PM

I used Pokémon Bank because I wanted to transfer some Pokémon that I caught in X, and also to fill in my PokéDex there.

acatfrommars January 16th, 2016 9:27 PM

Not as much in OR/AS, but I did utilize the Pokemon Bank often in Pokemon X! When I had a trade shop and was breeding about a year ago I used the bank often because I had a lot of Pokemon I was transporting from both Pokemon Black and over from Diamond to Black, and then over to the bank. Also, when I was breeding I would put a lot of the extras in the bank. I really like the Pokemon Bank, I'm glad that Gamefreak added this to the new generations. :)
