100 - I think that combination would be pretty hilarious, and pretty fun. Reminds me of Volcanion, which is Fire/Water. I can't wait to see how that plays.

I'm a spooky Giratina! :D

Meadow February 3rd, 2016 6:54 PM

BOO!

Gonna build up one more Regular Ghost before I stop BOO-ing for a while. :D

Yup, I think so too! But since it got buried at the bottom of the last page, I'll say it again.

What would you guys think if the three starters in Gen 7 were Grass/Fire, Fire/Water, and Water/Grass?

If I get ghosted I'll be a gourgeist again :P

Otamajakushi February 3rd, 2016 6:57 PM

2 - I also think having starters of those combinations would make for some very interesting rival battles. I would want the games to have two rivals so that all the combinations can be played.

I think it can be done. Look at Volcanion: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Volcanion_(Pok%C3%A9mon)#Type_effectiveness

It still has weaknesses.

Sothis February 3rd, 2016 7:01 PM

3 I wonder if there's the possibility for another Fire/water type myself

Otamajakushi February 3rd, 2016 7:07 PM

4 - I think it's possible, even it it isn't a starter. (I think the dynamic of having them be starters would be a lot of fun, versus just regular Pokemon.)

What if it were switched up a little? What if Grass/Water, Fire/Grass, and Water/Fire? (Slightly different, but the secondary types got switched around.)

You know what's cool? I think they would all have the same number of weaknesses, too!

Grass/Fire - Poison, Flying, and Rock
Fire/Water - Ground, Rock, and Electric
Water/Grass - Flying, Poison, and Bug

8 - Oh, oh, oh! What if the starters were monotyped, but their mega-evolutions took on those second types! Huh? Wouldn't that be cool?

So your grass starter could go "flame on" and mega evolve into a firey force to be reckoned with, like a chili pepper!

That sounds mega cool indeed (no pun intended), but a part of me would still probably wish that they always had those secondary types, haha.

What if the grass started represented the earth and had a leafy exterior, but a molten hot interior?

The fire/water starter could have something to with steam. It makes steam?

And the water/grass starter can be a tropical animal, from a famous island. (Hawaii, New Zealand, Galapagos?)

Not bad! I'm really liking the sound of these. ^^

How about their signature attacks (power/effects), or even their names? Does anyone have any ideas? :D

Well for the grass/fire starter, if we keep the theme of it representing the earth, it can possibly use Eruption or Lava Plume. (Volcano)

For the Fire/Water, perhaps Steam Eruption?

And for Water/Grass, maybe Petal Blizzard or Solar Beam?

I believe it could! Then you have your eels and rays... There's the electric ray, for example. :) Granted, it is a little odd-looking... Anyway, I imagine there are a number of ocean critters out there that could qualify, only I can't quite see them as starters hehe.

I for one would love to see a Fire/Fairy starter! Also, they've made Fire/Fighting and Grass/Fighting, but no Water/Fighting yet! That might be interesting. :)

All in all, it's hard to say, considering there are so many cool typing possibilities!

Surprisingly there aren't even many rays, only Mantine, but so many regular fish. A water/poison whiplash stingray would work out great too.

Speaking about ocean critters. What do you think of... a sea cucumber Pokémon? :)

Fire/Fairy and Water/Fighting sound really interesting too! Now I wonder what they might be based on. :o

I actually like that idea haha. They already have a good few machine-like Pokemon, so I could see it working. :P Also, they haven't done any Pokemon based off a marlin yet, which is something I've wanted to see for a while!

I'm not the best at coming up with Pokemon tbh haha, but I wouldn't mind something pixie-like for Fire/Fairy. c: (Speaking of which, I want a Mega Celebi!)

As for Water/Fighting, what about a beaver-type thing? I recall drawing something like that when I was little. :)

Hey, that actually looks pretty good! Like, it could totally pass off as a Pokemon. :D And it makes a sea cucumber come off as cute, which is a feat. xD I've been in lagoons infested with them in real life and trust me, they're not. D:

Anyhow, a sea cucumber Pokemon is bound to be either pure Water or Water/something else. Poison, or even fire, perhaps? Rock or Grass could fit, too!

I know we have Shellos and Gastrodon as sea slugs, but I think we need another! There are some amazing ones irl, after all! Maybe a Water/Grass-type, with a little garden on its back? :) Oooh, there are too many typing possibilities!

Oh, oh, oh! What about these guys? They're sea slugs that are part plant, sort of. (They eat algae, plants, and instead of devouring the chloroplasts, they take them up and use them to do photosynthesis and take up energy the plant way.)

Hey guys a weird thing happened in my nuzrun today. I lost my Linoone at the normal gym, so then after the gym I went hunting for new encounters, and for 2 routes in a row, guess what were my catches?

Both Linoones.

Its like the games want me to have a Linoone on my team.

Sothis February 6th, 2016 2:01 AM

36 they may be stronger linoones~

PageEmp February 6th, 2016 7:25 AM

Lol but I already found a replacement for my Linoone(It was the mega Latios). So I won't be using the other noones until something nasty happens.

Hikamaru February 6th, 2016 8:27 AM

38

Linoone is the second best HM Slave, second only to Bibarel.

blue February 6th, 2016 8:28 AM

39

Linoone is my favourite out of all the starter rodents, it can actually learn some decent moves.

Hikamaru February 6th, 2016 8:33 AM

40

I had a Linoone as part of my original Ruby team, and it did more than just HM Slaving.

Dedenne1 February 6th, 2016 8:43 AM

41

Ya linoone can be pretty powerful if you use it right, i never found the use of an hm slave in any of my games (except for bibarel sorry but that thing can learn everything but fly)

Arrow_Riddari February 6th, 2016 8:44 AM

42 got ninja'd.

I used a Bibarel in a Diamond nuzrun and it lived [Hall of Fame]. My Beedrill made it into the Hall of Fame in my Fire Red nuzrun.

Sothis February 6th, 2016 4:54 PM

43 I never used an HM slave, I just spread out the HM moves through my team

I used to do this as well, but then I eventually got sick of wasting move slots on my team members. :c

Otamajakushi February 6th, 2016 5:21 PM

45 - Except for Surf, I don't really use HMs unless I *need* to right now. So, I just keep a few Pokemon in the PC for just that occasion. Some are loaded up with HMs, some just have one or two. I try not to think of them as slaves, but HMs are their only purpose. They fulfill it well, and for that, I am grateful. They usually get a lot of levels and amie affection too, so it's not as if they're unloved.

Sothis February 6th, 2016 5:25 PM

46 I find moves like cut aren't really needed later in the game so I just delete it and replace with something else if that's the case.

Meadow February 6th, 2016 5:28 PM

47.

I honestly just wish that Cut never existed in the first place... Like, it's completely redundant by design, let alone its use in battle. >.<

Sothis February 6th, 2016 5:42 PM

48 That's true why can't ur pokemon just burn down the tree or w/e

PageEmp February 6th, 2016 6:31 PM

49

Yea HMs are bad. Well, except surf, waterfall, I guess strength and rock clim. And yea I think cut is the weakest of them.

Otamajakushi February 6th, 2016 6:39 PM

50 - I wish I could still cut grass with cut.

Sothis February 6th, 2016 6:40 PM

51 Yeah! That was useful

Meadow February 6th, 2016 6:50 PM

52.

I also miss being able to cut the grass, haha.

And I remember Rock Climb! I wasn't fond of its accuracy, but it was a pretty fun move to use! :D

Otamajakushi February 6th, 2016 6:54 PM

53 - Rock climb had a really neat animation in Gen 4! Defog was a weird HM that they briefly had.

Sothis February 6th, 2016 9:53 PM

54 Defog lol what a useless move outside of battle tho

Hikamaru February 6th, 2016 10:05 PM

55

It did get some use thanks to changing into a Rapid Spin clone that doesn't do damage.

DyingWillFlareon February 6th, 2016 11:08 PM

56.

ayyyyy.. What? I didnt not get on yesterdya pft youre crazy...

I like Waterfall and Surf, but the other hms just take up a slot imo... Flash is ok if you plan on keeping Sand Attack the whole time but you never know what moves youll want to teach your Pokemon, even if you look it up. i feel really bad for teaching Cut to a dead Pokemon in a nuzlocke instead of my then only living Pokemkn that could learn it just because I didnt want Partrat to be semi useleess QwQ;;

LilyGardy February 7th, 2016 1:22 AM

57.

Surf and Waterfall are solid moves but I am not a fan of HMs in general.

In my Heart Gold Grass Monotype I caught a Shiny Golduck. Since it isn't a Grass Type I couldn't use it on my team but I could use him as a HM Helper....

blue February 7th, 2016 4:27 AM

58

The only HM move I find useful is Surf, it acts as a powerful Water move and it's probably the most used HM for getting around. Waterfall is good too, obviously if you have a physical attacker then it's beneficial to use Waterfall over Surf.

Razor Leaf has just inherited their power and accuracy from when it was OP in Gen I, because it gave an instant crit at the time. (Literally 100% even if your base speed was at least 64.)
Other moves that can use a tweak are Knock Off (why so much base power?), Octazooka (more accuracy perhaps). There's probably more.

Totally agree to this, but I sometimes give physical sweepers Surf as well, as it's very useful against rock and ground types, which tend to have a defense stat that's a lot higher than their special defense.

74 morphing madness, omg, that seems like fun one but I'm lazy

ジュナイパー February 8th, 2016 2:33 PM

Yeah, I'm like that too. If I wasn't so lazy about it, I'd be participating in more trivia games. Since I subscribed to at least 21 threads, I get at least 5-7 emails every morning. ;)

In all my years of using forums, I have never subscribed to any thread. Probably because I always check out whatever thread I'm interested in whenever I see it has new posts.

I didn't know we had a game that uses the fusion sprites!

Sothis February 8th, 2016 6:06 PM

77 I never subscribe either, I like a clean email :P

Dedenne1 February 8th, 2016 6:21 PM

Ya if i post in a game or cool thread i subscribe especially if its something i like to follow going to PT and finding the games i wanna play takes too much time for my quick drop byes haha

Meadow February 8th, 2016 6:39 PM

I'm pretty sure I get automatically subscribed to every single thread I post in, haha. I used to check my subscribed threads back in the day when I rarely posted, but nowadays I don't really check them at all anymore... D:

I love those games too! :D I was surprised you didn't mention Last Letter though, since you used to troll me there with the letter N. <___<

Otamajakushi February 8th, 2016 7:39 PM

80 - I subscribe to some threads I want to see later, but I turn of the notifications.

As for my favorite trivia games, I really liked them all. Here are some of my favorites:
-Fill in the Blank
-Ghosts
-Who's That Pokemon?
-So a Castform Walks into a Bar
-Odd One Out
-Name 5 Pokemon
-The person below me has never...
-2 Truths and a Lie
-Rate the Pokemon/Last Letter/Hug or Kill/Type Game

I wish it wasn't "or Kill", but rather "or Release".

Sothis February 8th, 2016 11:07 PM

Nothing wrong with that! The simple games are really fun, especially if you get a good back and forth with someone. :D

I really like the variety of games we have here, there's a game for everyone! (That is, as long as you're into Pokémon. :P) Funnily enough however, I was asked this exact same question a few days ago already. :D

Also, I'm quickly gonna add that those two aren't just two random games. Yes, there's something special about them. *mysterious music starts playing*

Me neither, I'm afraid it might give some sort of tunnel vision as you're not noticing when new threads appear. Besides, subscribing to PokéTrivia games would probably end up in one giant spam bomb.

For me it's PT and The Underground mostly, but I think I have posts in almost every section by now. But seriously, Underground is cool, almost as awesome as PT really. I heard they will be organizing a game specially for beginners sometime next week. I recommend to check it out if any of you happen to be interested. :)

Cool! I want to venture out beyond #TeamTrivia, but I never get around to it. Oh, and thanks for the info Lycan, I've always wanted to try the Underground.

You should! There have been several Pokémon themed games as well. Too bad you just missed the signups for the Bidoof Mafia.

Dedenne1 February 9th, 2016 1:16 PM

I'm all over the place. There's a few forums that I don't go into because I don't have an interest in them, but I try to check out the more general areas.

Except for the Playground. I don't know why I haven't taken to that forum like I have to PT.

Dedenne1 February 9th, 2016 6:10 PM

93 or 92? Not sure....

Idk i like the playground like the rate sig and avatar but not as much as PT i mean come on team trivia is freaking awesome

I also really wanna get back to the treehouse and some of the mainstream generation sections which seem to be quite busy :D
