Aw man, I'm always out of the loop when it comes to Nuzlockes, haha. I totally need to remind myself to watch one someday. :< Not sure how relevant this is, but is anyone here familiar with Twitch Plays Pokémon? If so, how did you think of it? I've mainly heard about Bird Jesus and Lord Helix and stuff, but I haven't delved much deeper yet. It seemed like lots of fun, though! Or maybe it was completely painful. Haha. |

Whilst I have never sat and watched a whole Let's Play of Pokemon or indeed any game some can be amusing. With all the grinding I did for Lenora I now have a Swoobat before the third Gym. Fighting type is incredibly strong and useful in Unova hence why I started with Tepig. Whilst my Herdier does not have Intimidate, her and my starter are the Pokemon I will be needing most I think. :) |

Third Gym complete and just the one death so far. My Tranquil Jared swept Burgh's Gym and now on to the 4th Gym. Elesa's team is electric which half my team is weak to. Palpitoad, your move. As I recall in a previous Psychic Monotype of Unova everything carries a dark type move which makes things tough for my Swoobat Bats and Munna Socrates. Or hopefully I can find a Sandile. :) The only extra rules I have is the no duplicates rule and the shiny clause on the unlikely situation I run into a Shiny I can still catch it. |

Psychic Monotypes would be damn hard in Unova, I tell you. That region just loves Dark-types for some reason. |

I did a Psychic Monotype of White 2 a while back. The star of my team was Gothitelle. There are a lot of great dark types in Unova and Team Plasma loves using them. I am up to the Pokemon League in my Black Nuzlocke. Only 3 deaths so far. A Patrat I sacrificed to Lenora, My Krokorok that fell to an Archen crit at Chargestone Cave and My Zebstrika Blade that fell to Cheren's Samurott Aqua Tail Crit at Victory Road. Now to do some grinding as I have nothing against Fighting Types other than an Underlevelled Gothorita. My strongest Pokemon is my Scrafty Marshal at Level 54. |

I havent played Unova bery recentally at all.... Really need to do something about that. :w I did start an Emerald Nuzlocke today.... Already lost my Lotad in her first battle to a crit Tackle from a Wurmple?? ;-; Rip. Do you guys ever just name all your Pokemon(locke or not) based off a show?.... (I may or may not be naming the Emerald mons after Gravity Falls characters.... Rip Carla the Lotad) |

I recommend B2W2 for Unova. Whilst Black/White are still good games the rivals are annoying (I include N in that) and the variety of Pokemon is far greater in BW2 which is especially good if you are doing a challenge. I had my fourth death in my Black Nuzlocke. My Unfezant fell to a Darmanitan in the Stadium. My male Gothitelle comes in but Marshall's Mienshao still worrys me. |
75.
Aw Im sorry for the loss of your locke birb. ;3; Yeah, I love the rivals in BW though I love BW2 in whole a lot. Maybe I will try to play it again soon, i got an r4 card so I can replay without deleting my saves now. ;3; So thats entirely posisble. (Also how do you make it stop not letting you back onto a game after not playig for a day? The only compromise i found so far is to leave the ds on sleep mode when not playing it 24/7 game cannot go off. ;3; ) |

Grass Monotypes are tough in general imo, too many weaknesses. Pika Pika :chu: |

I have done several Grass monotypes and with the exception of Heart Gold which was very tricky none were particularly tricky. Indeed my Pearl Grass Monotype was straightforward even though the Sinnoh games have a reputation for being difficult. In my Nuzlocke I never thought Simon the Simisage would live to the Elite Four. He has put sterling work throughout the run including taking out the whole of Team Plasma at Dragonspiral Tower. Whilst much maligned the Grass Monkey has been a great help but may lack power for the Elite Four. |

Simisage is actually a very surprising Pokemon. It has a decent movepool and stats for in-game runs' Also, grass monotypes are hard lol. I've done a review about it actually. find it somewhere here: HERE JUST SCROLL DOWN AND EXCUSE THE SUBPAR POEMS |

That's a nice write-up about Grass Monotypes. :). I have found Vileplume to be the most useful Pokemon in my Grass Monotypes. In Heart Gold he practically took out Red on his own and was the star in Kanto and Kalos and with the Sun up the speed issue is solved. Lilligant is great too but you can only really get one in Unova and Alola. Simisage is a very respectable Pokemon but who decided Pansage can't learn Crunch until Level 43? |
80
Too bad Simisage coudn't actually live up in competitive battling. I like his design the best out of all monkeys. |
81.
The only monotype i've complete is a water monotype on firered. I should do another monotype sometime. And maybe finish the other challenges i have on all my other games lmao. |
82.
That's my first Nuzlocke completed after successfully completing Black. I had three more deaths at the Elite Four. Simon the Simisage and Jane the Stoutland fell to Grimsley's crit mad Bisharp and my starter Nia the Emboar heroically went down after OHKOing Shauntels Chandelure with Head Smash in the Final Elite Four battle. Certainly the toughest death. Marla the Excadrill, Gothet the Gothitelle, Marshall the Scrafty and Reshiram was my Hall of Fame team. Marla and Marshall were the key players in defeating N and Ghetsis whilst Gothet was a huge help against the Elite Four. Random note - The already intense Unova Elite Four team sounds extra epic when you know that if something goes down it's not getting up again. Black Nuzlocke completed successfully. Deaths - 7 |

The elemental monkeys are actually surprisingly usable for an in-game run, but I usually evolve them when I get the chance to. I only hold off a stone evolution if there's a certain move of interest that only the pre-evo learns. |
84
I have to agree. As much hatred as they get, those monkeys are actually quite handy in-game. Pika Pika :chu: |
85
...still never using them, ever. Ever. In a game as easy and simple as Pokemon, form wins out over function for me. |
86.
I am stll yet to use Simipour. His design seems unfitting and the Water Waiter Cress is among my least favourite Gym Leaders, Fire Waiter Chili isn't much better. If the monkeys were not everywhere in BW, Numerous trainers would carry all three then they would not get so much bad press. |
87
I still haven't got a chance to use Sear and Pour actually. Might have to use them during my mono-type runs, see if they stand up to their leafy cousin. |

Struggling to think of what hard Pokemon would be like...no items, no levelling any Pokemon past the next Gym Leader's levels, Nuzlocke? No evolution, no stat boosting/inflicting moves, monotype, for added rules? Maybe then the games would require more strategy than just "grind and/or use super effective moves" to beat. Maybe. Ta. Saw a clean cut of Emil's head and couldn't resist. xD |
