General Chat Café

The Sixth Generation Chit-Chat Thread

Hello everyone, welcome to the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Chat Café! For anyone who doesn't know, Pokécommunity chit-chat threads are threads where members are free to talk, rant, vent, or discuss anything and everything related to the topic of its corresponding subforum. This is meant to be a place to just kick back and chit-chat with other people who enjoy the games.

Just bought the games and you want to let everyone know that a new Hoenn trainer has entered the building? Wanna show off that newly designed Super Secret Base? Halfway through the game and you'd like to share your thoughts/critiques/opinions on the game so far? Or maybe you just want to pop in and tell us how much you loved the Delta Episode? As long as your post relates to OR/AS, isn't spam/non-sensical, and otherwise follows the PokéCommunity global rules, you're free to post it here and chat with other members about it! It's all welcome here and we're looking forward to chatting with you about all your 3D Hoenn escapades :)

Casual chit-chat though this is, there are a few guidelines that must be laid out to ensure that this is fun for everyone:
  • While you do not need to adhere to the current topic being discussed if you aren't terribly interested in it, do try to acknowledge the topic before switching it. As this is a chit-chat thread and the topic is generally open, it's okay to have multiple topics going on at once.
  • Have fun!

Shall we talk about our favorite place in ORAS? (:

Sopheria January 24th, 2016 8:25 PM

Well sure, I don't see why not n_n I really like Pacifidlog Town. I love the music, and thinking of Pacifidlog Town always conjures up thoughts of a nice ocean breeze. Not to mention it has the one old man who makes that awesome Lord of the Rings reference:

Hikamaru January 25th, 2016 12:33 AM

I know this may be boring to most people, but I actually love the watery areas in the game. Especially with how pretty the underwater areas are now, having Pokemon swimming in the overworld and it's just so fun to explore.

I love Pacifidlog's music too, but for a different reason -- I love it because of Lilycove City, haha. For towns and cities, I used to love Fortree City back in Gen III. But I prefer Lilycove and Sootopolis in Gen VI, Lilycove has a department store, art museum and a Contest Hall (not much of a participant nowadays though). As for Sootoplis, the music and atmosphere are perfect. (:

You are not alone! Who doesn't love water? There is nothing such as too much water. I rate the sea route 100/10.

That's the spirit! It's definitely our in-your-face message to IGN saying that there is no such thing as "too much water", because said water is full of beauty and we must respect that.

I really love diving in Hoenn. I'm really appreciating the new diving mechanics likes a faster diving with Sharpedo and you can also dive with Kyogre. :P While I prefer diving in their GBA classic counterpart, ORAS' isn't too shabby either. The details like Luvdisc and Corsola swimming under the sea kinda makes it up for the dark environment (that I dislike).

I wish there was something we can do with Groudon other than battling and contests, diving with Kyogre is sorta an exclusive thing for Alpha Sapphire players, I 'spose. Unless the Omega Ruby players received a Kyogre through various means. XD

Hikamaru January 25th, 2016 2:43 AM

That was most likely why I played Alpha Sapphire as my main remake. Kyogre grew so much on me that I loved it so much better than Groudon, especially now that Kyogre gets a unique overworld model when using Surf and Dive.

Omega Ruby players don't get that with Groudon, only riding on it in that one scene leading up to the encounter with its Primal form. But with Kyogre you can ride on it underwater even after you catch it.

Then Cathy be like, 'at least I get Mawile and Duskull and yall don't!' XD Jkjk

But yeah, it's rather sad when you think about it. The Eon siblings and Kyogre can be ridden, Groudon is kinda left out when it come to interacting. Perhaps P-Groudon's batting capability, in a sense, is a way to compensate? While not a battler myself, I heard that P-Groudon's far superior over P-Kyogre when it comes to battle. Though it's a bit ironic that P-Groudon's one and only weakness is Ground-type. :P

Darn straight. And I transferred my Kyogre forward from HeartGold, so I still got to experience the wonderful magic of riding Kyogre :P

But yea, I loved the new overworld surfing models. Especially Sharpedo, which felt like GameFreak's answer to the somewhat-common complaint that "we have a fast way to travel on land, but not on water". Though I was somewhat surprised to see that Lapras didn't get one in OR/AS, even though it did in X&Y ~_~

A Kyogre that is caught in the Johto region. -giggles-

I was actually wondering the lack of Lapras surf sprite. I don't think a Lapras surf sprite's gonna take a lot of space...

So boys and girls, do you think we've received enough amount of Mega Evolutions in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire?

I think not, just look at how lacking we are in the Grass department. We only have one Grass Mega in ORAS and that Pokemon happens to be a starter too! Unsurprisingly the Water-type has three Megas, including M-Swampert of course. Perhaps that's the true meaning of too much water. Lmao

Sopheria January 27th, 2016 6:45 AM

I think we got enough Megas in these games. I mean granted, there's a few I was expecting that I wish we had gotten, like Mega Milotic and Mega Flygon. But there were also some unexpected ones, like Mega Audino, Mega Pidgeot, and Mega Beedrill. So it sorta balanced out, in that way.

I didn't even realize there weren't that many Grass-type Megas! I guess since I'm not a huge fan of Grass-types I never really paid a whole lot of attention, but yea, I do hope maybe we'll get some more Grass Megas in the future.

EternalSeekerX January 31st, 2016 5:41 PM

Does anyone feel weird that in ORAS storyline, they have romances now?

Its funny when you play a boy, then may is all up in your grill but if you play as girl, brandon is just like lol friendzone :v

I loved the Walmer sprite! :D If I knew that I couldn't see it after it evolved in Wailord, I would never have evolved it! D:

I think we got some nice Mega, but where is mega flygon? T_T

Very true. While the amount is a bit more than XY's introduced Megas, it's actually perfect. The type balancing though, is terrible.

I guess that is due to the popular shipping between Brendan and May back in the golden ol' days. :P It's a homage to those players, I suppose.

As for me, I tried to look it in a platonic way since I didn't hear the exact ILY words. :P

I totally forgot about the Wailmer sprite. :o

According to Masuda, they were actually trying to create a Mega Flygon during the XY development, but the design didn't come out nicely so they had to cross it out. Let's hope we'll be seeing a Mega Flygon in 'Z version' or Gen 7!

I definitely sorta picked that up. I'm not sure how prominent it is throughout the game, but the scene at the beginning where she gets embarrassed and starts blushing just sorta set the tone of their relationship for the rest of the game for me :P

bobandbill February 1st, 2016 6:46 AM

I did as well. Very evident in the Delta episode as well. A pity imo because I don't actually like the rival. Designs are alright, but the personality (or lack thereof) I've had issue with since RSE. So hence the game shipping them with me really doesn't make me like them any more. =/ Ah well...

Yeah, isn't it ironic that the remake happened in a generation where the rivals suck? :P

May and Brendan didn't have much development, but Wally does. ):

Silver, Bianca and Cheren are the most developed rivals so far. Oh and when I mention the Gen V rivals, I am not including and basing their presence in B2W2.

esperance February 1st, 2016 9:20 AM

Ugh the romances were the only part of the extended story that I couldn't stand. Brandon felt like a real wimp to me and it was a chore having to put up with him, like post-Elite Four and he challenges you to a battle and it felt very underwhelming because his team wasn't all that impressive and his dialog wasn't very inspiring either.

I've heard that, but I don't know why they haven't ask to the fan XD
I mean, come on! Look online, there is sooo many good mega-flygon!

Hikamaru February 1st, 2016 2:17 PM

I do sometimes love the expressions Brendan and May pull off, but to me I was mainly cracking up at Brendan because I'm female and therefore played as May.

Hmm I never really gauged there personality, to me most of characters just seem like set pieces with generic lines.

I just beat the 8th gym and I am thinking of catching/leveling my boxed mons first so I haven't challenged May at the E4 yet (playing as Brandon, named the character my name, am I the only one who still does this?)

Ahh yeah I play as Brandon cause I am a guy, thought not to say I never pick girl in the games (I usually switch around if I do a second playthrough or play a diffferent version of the same game), but I have seen some lets plays where Brandon is like looool friendzoooone!!! To May!! but from what I have seen as playing as Brandon is the may seems more sweet towards you.

I wish they changed the Battle Maison Pokemon sets because they got new/tutoring moves/new egg moves. We're still fighting the same sets from XY as if they were never taught tutoring moves.

That is done to preserve the compatibility between XY and ORAS. If 'Z version' has a Battle Maison, most likely that will be the case as well (As seen from Generation III and Generation IV Battle Towers, Generation V Battle Subways).

DarkWolf13 February 2nd, 2016 6:15 AM

If you haven't noticed, Platinum/HG/SS Battle Tower had an entirely different AND better sets than Diamond/Pearl's Battle Tower. Hopefully GF won't get lazy with their newest game if there is one. Also, it shouldn't even mess with the compatibility because these sets can be edited without messing the game itself.

Oops, Diamond and Pearl's slipped off the mind.

I'm not sure about them expanding/improving the Battle Maison. Have you read the interview about the lack of Battle Frontier in ORAS? (:

Sopheria February 2nd, 2016 5:24 PM

Hmm I don't know I mean, OR/AS and X&Y are just barely compatible, since you can't bring the OR/AS Mega Stones into a battle with an X&Y player. If I had to guess, it's probably just something they overlooked haha.

Oh god don't even remind me of that interview ugh haha

DarkWolf13 February 2nd, 2016 5:45 PM

Total BS that interview was... and the Maison had copies of the sets from the Battle Subway, which was a lazy thing to do. Also, they don't need to expand the Maison, just change the movesets around to have tutoring moves. Imagine fighting Gunk Shot Greninja in the Maison or Dazzling Gleam Delphox or a Drain Punch Chesnaught.

Sun February 2nd, 2016 9:26 PM

They could have had expand the Inverse Battle as a battle facility, instead of a tiny shop in Mauville. While not the best, it had potential...

XY's Inverse Battle trainer had like, competitive strength. He often had very smart AI and competitive-based movesets, making him hard to defeat.

In ORAS, it isn't as much of an issue because the Pokemon this time are much weaker and lower-leveled.

I haven't tried the ORAS one after post-game, but I do agree Inver is hella difficult in XY. @[email protected] He nearly knocked my team twice during the mono Fairy challenge...

Hikamaru February 3rd, 2016 3:22 AM

I often relied on False Swipe just so I could hit the 7 super-effective hits requirement to get the evolution stones and he still catches me with surprise attacks that I'm weak to under his mechanics. 7 is just a ridiculous amount of super-effective hits to land because he'll more likely land them on you than you'd land on him.

Oh... I LOVE Inverse battles! Some Pokemon are easier to defeat under Inverse. Oh and about Inver, he has 6 IV Pokemon and they're EV trained.

That's not how it works. You lose those points if you're hit by an SE move. You need to be hit with NVE moves to rack up the points without you having to deal SE damage.
Speaking of SE damage, Freeze-Dry is still SE against Water types in Inverse... so you can knock an Empoleon off his feet with that move.

Just imagine if there's a Grass-type Gym as the final Gym. The twist is: Inverse Battle. Grass-types kill 7 types.

It's time for my Roserade to shine, she really hits hard. (:

Blaziken and Mawile are able to ascend to Uber, why not my Roserade!?

I kept forgetting that, but yes he is a smart trainer so it's likely he'll try and take points off you by hitting you with advantages. But wow Freeze-Dry being 4x SE to an Empoleon because its mechanics are unchanged? That is odd.

And you know, Grass is not only beast in Inverse. Bug is as well, having seven type advantages, but Normal is the real king because it is seriously broken. Normal can literally hit everything unresisted.

Sopheria February 3rd, 2016 6:24 PM

I still have yet to try Inverse Battles in ORAS. I remember always losing to Inver in X&Y--in fact, I'm not even sure if I ever beat him. I guess Inverse battles are something they could have expanded on in ORAS, but I'm not sure what the best way would have been to go about it. They could have made some gym battles inverse battles, like Sun said, but eh...that'd kill the whole nostalgia factor of the remakes, so not too sure that would be the best route to take haha. Maybe if they had integrated it into gym leader rematches somehow? That would have been pretty neat.

esperance February 3rd, 2016 6:31 PM

Good old Inver. I also lost to him the first time I fought him because I was really not prepared for that battle.

DarkWolf13 February 3rd, 2016 6:58 PM

One time I fought Inver in XY... I actually made his Gourgeist grovel at my Tyrantrum's feet. Kept Flinch-haxing with Stomp although the damage from the Rocky Helmet was my only tick.

Sopheria February 4th, 2016 4:00 PM

So funny thing: I just realized as I was playing yesterday that when soaring, you can hold B to move faster. I knew you could press B to do that thrusty move, but I never realized you could hold it to fly faster xD After all this time I've been playing I still can't believe I never knew about that haha

Gosh I wish I'd known about this sooner.

Hika why didn't you tell me??

I always just spammed B and did the thrusting move over and over again. This changes everything :) Also, I'm just finding out Murkrow is really rare to encounter while soaring. I thought I remembered running into them pretty commonly in the past, and yet the other day I spent like 20 minutes straight trying to find one, with no success :c

Hikamaru February 5th, 2016 4:43 AM

I actually had more luck encountering Murkrow. The real rare one to me was Braviary, but most common... definitely Taillow.

I must be lucky for those Drifloon and Braviary. XD

But a friend is luckier, he has captured over 30 shinies (not counting his chain fish shinies) in his Gen V and Gen VI games. He wasn't even purposely hunting or Masuda hatching. Freaky.

Funny to learn that I have a shiny Drifloon in X... I found like six shinies alone in that game without any cheap tricks, Masuda Method or anything.

Anyways, I'm watching Tealgamemaster's Alpha Sapphire Let's Play and he has this hilarious "7.8 Too Much Water" alert popping up a lot, complete with a picture of a bottle of water nonetheless! I have been watching a lot of his videos lately, especially given a good chunk of games I played were in his Let's Play catalogue.

Captain Oshawott February 14th, 2016 6:56 PM

On the topics of Shiny Pokemon, I encountered my first wild Shiny in years today during my Omega Ruby Wonderlocke challenge. I had just beaten the twins' gym, and was on my way to Groudon's underwater cavern, when I encountered a shiny Tentacool.

Also, it's Hoenn, there can never be enough water :P .

Edit: To advance the conversation, I ask this; what was the first wild shiny you've encountered in ORAS *if applicable*?

Hikamaru February 15th, 2016 2:07 PM

My only shiny in ORAS is a Zigzagoon... kinda unlucky when you compare that to my collection in X.

blue February 18th, 2016 6:49 AM

No shinies for me in ORAS so far, not like I've been hunting for them though. I've heard that the chance of finding shinies in ORAS (and perhaps XY) has been increased, is this true?

Yea, 6th gen in general has doubled the shiny encounter rate. Previous generations were 1/8192, 6th gen is 1/4096.
We also have a few new chaining methods, like chain fishing and DexNav chaining, but there's not a whole lot of hard data on what the increased odds are from those methods. DexNav might just have a higher chance for a shiny encounter without even requiring any chaining at all, from what I've read. (source)

Sup!!!!!!!!!!! So I just beat the delta episode and have a few thoughts (feel free to express your thoughts to).

-Does anyone feel bad for beating wally before the E4? I mean his "oh its okay I will try better" made me feel sad for him
-The E4 wasnt bad but I feel like steven was only hard because of damn sturdy and only one of his fossil pokemon and mega metagross, do u guys feel the same?
-I played as brandon so i was suprised when may asked me to battle after the credits, i felt the designers made her pokes underlevel so you wouldnt loose
-Was Zania (the dragon chick in the delta episode) suppose to be hard or is mega rayquaza just OP as eff?? Okay her mega salmence somehow one shotted me with a crit because i used dragon ascent instead of dragon pulse but i reverted back to when i was suppose to catch ray and then battled her again and just one shotted all her pokes
-I love that prof birch gives you more starters, i only got jhoto and unova since i havent beat E4 yet, but that machop chasing him killed me :v

Hiya ^^

You know, I did feel a little bad for Wally, but he doesn't take it too hard and I like his attitude in response to losing. He just takes it as motivation to work even harder, and he doesn't give up his dream of one day defeating you. On the other hand...I felt sorry for Brendan ;-; He seems genuinely disappointed that you've gotten so much stronger than him so quickly. Although I like him a lot better in this game than in RSE, since in those games he sorta just...stops being relevant after your final battle with him. In OR/AS, it's nice to see that he learns to use Mega Evolution and we even get to battle alongside him in the Battle Maison (which I still haven't done yet, maybe I'll give that a try some time).

I didn't find Zinnia too hard, but it's been a while since I actually did the battle so I don't remember if I one-shotted everything. But I'm pretty sure Mega Rayquaza being so OP has a lot to do with it haha.

And yea! It's pretty awesome the way this game has all the remaining starters from other regions. And it's pretty hilarious how there's something different chasing him each time--just wait until you get the Sinnoh starters from him, that's the most hilarious one out of all of them xD

Hikamaru February 19th, 2016 6:18 AM

I really liked how you were able to get other starters in the postgame, because it reunited me with my beloved Oshawott.

Preach.

Wally is a good kid, he knew that you were giving it your all *mostly because he DID tell you not to hold back*. His response, while sad, was also good. Wally is determined to beat you, so he may have lost the battle, but the war still rages on. In a way, you are Wally's pillar to strive for.

Your rival is actually somewhat relevant in this game, which is great. In R/S/E, the Rival stopped being relevant after you encounter them in Lilycove City, you couldn't even see their Starter's final evolution. Besides, your Rival didn't strive to be the best Trainer in Hoenn *yes, even Brenden*, your Rival set out on the journey, not only for the experience, but also to help their Father *Birch* complete his research.

Zinnia was actually a pushover for me. Even in previous battles without Mega Rayquaza, I almost never had issues with her. To her credit, however, I had a Sylveon that was pushing Level 60...

The fact that Birch gave you the other region starters was really cool. However, it kind of disappointed me that they were essentially box fillers. I've never really enjoyed the idea of obtaining the other Starters in the end-game. I hardly ever train them, and they just get put in the box.

I suppose it's helpful for a potential future Nuzlocke, if I decide I want one of them as my Starter to mix things up. At the same time, however, I really wish they would do the giveaway during the main story-line, like they did in Yellow. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to get those Starters instead of having to extract them from my older games, I just wish they were given to you at a more appropriate time.

Another alternative would be to give these Starters their Hidden Abilities, thus making them slightly more relevant, and make the player more willing to train them. Though, I'd always train the Oshawott.

Yeah I was able to get all the starters from each batch so far and yeah it's hard to train if your just repeating battles. I think the elite 4 and Steven got a bit harder now since Im still mid to low 60 while they are low 70s. Also glacia breaks my heart... She used my favourite move against me. She collapsed my mega blaziken into nothingness O.o with her absolute zero sheer cold..... I don't recall her using it during our first battle...

Well, day 3 of owning Pokemon OR. Good game but it seems to end so quickly. Already I am trying to get the 7th gym badge. It's a good game and the Amie is an amazing addition and there is plenty to do in this generation but I also have some nitpicks like the overuse of Plusle cameos and how annoying it is to catch an Eevee. So far it's pretty solid.

You'll actually be able to catch Eevee with DexNav on Route 116 after the Groudon encounter, since you'll be able to get the National Dex and open up new Pokemon to obtain exclusively with the DexNav. I actually got a female HA Eevee myself, and she's now a Sylveon that knows how to wreck.

Minun172 February 22nd, 2016 6:04 PM

Heh. I didn't know specific Pokemon are only caught with the dexNav. In speaking of Plusle is that how you also find Minun's good (and apprently really famous) friend in this version or do I just have to keep looking where I found my Minun? I encountered plenty of Minun and own one as well but no Plusle which is odd because I see a lot of trainer NPCS with Plusles. I just wanna try them out in a double battle. I always caught Minuns but never their red counterparts.

Plusle and Minun have what I call "pseudo version-exclusive" status. Plusle is found mostly in AS while Minun is in OR, however you can find the other one in a horde battle by using Honey or Sweet Scent in the grass. They had similar exclusivity in X/Y as well, Plusle in the "blue" game and Minun in the "red" game.

Guessing those trainers have a Pokemon that learned sweet scent and took them back in a box and exchanged them for a Plusle or something. Some of these trainer's Pokemons are really confusing... Probaby every trace of Plusles should of been replaced with Minuns in OR.

But yeah... My secret hatred for that red one aside, what did you think of Amie?

Hikamaru February 22nd, 2016 6:19 PM

Pokemon Amie was great, it was a feature I heavily abused a lot in XY. Not just for its benefits from high affection, but because I wanted to use Sylveon on my team as well.

Minun172 February 22nd, 2016 6:22 PM

I've mentioned this before but it does a really good job of introducing first time newcomers to the sixth generation of bonding with Pokemon. Last time they were nothing but slaves to flighting. They still are but we can finally take them out of constant fighting for a moment and play with them. I wish a separate expanded version of Amie was available for the 3DS and Wii U and maybe even phones free or not (Would be too much if it was more than 10 dollars to me.). Amie is an amazing idea and should be it's own thing some day. It's better than that Pokemon farm game for the Wii whatever it was called where it tried to develop an idea of bonding your Pokemon from your DS to the Wii.

I definitely agree. OR/AS is quite welcoming to newcomers, and at the same time it also appeals to us older players who enjoyed RSE :) Is OR/AS your first Pokémon game, or have you played previous games as well?

I've played Pokemon since FireRed with my friend's GBA. I haven't gotten my own Pokemon game until my mom out of nowhere bought me Pokemon Emerald for my DS and then I stopped playing after Black and then they got sold/lost and now I completely forgot about a lot of things about Pokemon except for the Pokemon themselves and the Animes since I still watched them when I didn't have my games. I only bought OR to get myself back up to Pokemon business.

Just got the sinnoh starters from birch..................................OMG xD!!!

And now I don't know what to do in ORAS anymore :v

(If this post isn't where it belongs, I authorize the mods to move it. I couldn't find anywhere better for it.)

Not gonna wait for Pokemon.com to respond to me.

Haven't done online competitions before, and I just registered for the Kanto Classic. I saw somewhere in the rules that "linking Poke'mon with a Digital Player ID" locks the Battle Box so that Poke'mon can't be modified between battles.

What does that mean? At what point is the lock applied? I'm hesitant to get my Digital Player ID because I still need to train some mons.

Same here... maybe I'll consider getting Super Mystery Dungeon yet since I never played a spinoff Pokemon game before (plus I get to be Oshawott!) and I do want a new Pokemon game to keep me busy while I wait for new Sun & Moon info, and the eventual game release.

Catch all the Pokémon, maybe? That's what I've been doing on mine and it's been keeping me pretty occupied. It's sort of a fun challenge to try and catch them all without migrating any Pokes from previous gens. There's also the Battle Maison, if you're into battling :)

I believe that's referring to the point where you register your Pokémon Trainer Club account into the tournament, but I'm not 100% sure :v If I were you I'd hold off on registering until you've got your Pokes trained up. But also make sure you sign up before the deadline too!

Hahah, Well I have that for the base game. I just found a way to dump the rom so I can randomize and hack it :)

Finally I can have some fun by making it harder and giving my favourite pokemon with my favourite moves :)

Urrrgh...so, I haven't played ORAS in 3 weeks, ever since I left my 3DS on the bus ~_~ I still have my 2DS, but losing my original 3DS just drained me of all my energy to play any 3DS games. I think I'm getting back into the mood to play ORAS though, I still need to make some progress on my LiveDex project :) I'm also thinking of decking out my secret base, it's been so long since I've done anything with it haha

Given you are the ORAS mod, I do feel sorry for you for suffering a notable lack of an ORAS fix lately.

That just reminded me that I don't even have a secret base. I'm pretty sure I just walked into mine and walked back out to never return. I should actually figure out what you can do with them, because they actually sound pretty cool and I've done everything else in ORAS besides getting a Live Dex.

You should give it a try! They're really fun. They're pretty useful too because your Secret Base teammates can give your Pokemon massages and EVs and etc. every day. It's helped me out a lot in my Live Dex project :)

Substitute Hiding behind a Substitute.

Hey; i'm new n' stuff and i gotta vent.

I've been checking up on Mirage Islands each and every day for two weeks and i gotta vent.

Where's the sub island!?!? Is it a rare island? I've been fixing teams as I've recently got into competitive breeding but have enough morals not the abuse minimize for my drain tanks/Toxistalls.

I just feel like some Poke-antichrist is ripping me a new one every time I drop onto a damn Audino Island, seriously the amount of times i've dropped and heard that little chubby bunny chime up is unholy.

Anyways hi love u all god bless pray for me, happy breeding <3

Sopheria March 21st, 2016 3:56 PM

You mean you're looking for the mirage island with the Substitute TM on it? I feel your pain, I've been trying to find the mirage spot with Magby on it for ages now, but it never seems to appear. It's really tough to get the one you want when there's so many of them--there's about 32 random ones, I believe, so you have a 1 in 32 chance of the one you're looking for appearing on any given day ;c

Dendisan March 21st, 2016 5:18 PM

Thank you, i could trade you a magby if you'd like, not great IV's but just breed it out and you should be fine, what's you friend code?

Oh thanks for the offer, but no need haha! I already have a bunch in my Y anyways. I've made a goal in Omega Ruby to catch every Pokémon that's available in Hoenn in Hoenn, which is actually proving to be a pretty fun challenge. I'm pretty close to completing the National Dex, I'm at around 630 right now n_n

I'm pretty sure I found the Substitute TM, but I mostly wanted to catch all the available Pokemon on the Mirage Spots and also picking up some TMs.

MrPotato082514 April 16th, 2016 9:53 PM

I'm gonna throw a little background info about me just to enhance the noobish description of le me. I was first introduced into the pokemon games by pokemon yellow at age 8, then quickly followed by fire red and emerald. I grew up in a rather poor family so those were the only games I had and were accustomed to. A few days ago I was first introduced into the DS franchise, more importantly a 3DS. It was given to me as well as Alpha Sapphire. I was a bit skeptical being a newer generation as I do not quite find interest in the newer ones however being a remake of sapphire, which was remade into the emerald I was familiar with, was quite nostalgic. 22 hours later here we are. I've beaten the Elite Four, and completed the Delta Episode. I will admit I made a rather noobish decision to use my masterball on Deoxys. I was scared to fight him again because I had to soft reset after I 1-hit-kod him. Anyways the point of this post was to ask the people of pokecommunity the chances of catching a legendary with your first pokeball thrown. Le me was soaring around and found a nameless cavern. Le me being a noob had no idea what it was, so le me stopped by and stuck my hand through the hole. Le me was unaware that Azelf was a legendary until just recently and used my lvl 62 Flygon and Crunch which I didn't think would do much damage nearly killed him. Le me threw an ultraball and caught him. Sorry for the ridiculous rant, but what are the odds? I watched three youtubers take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes trying to capture it.

Hey guys, just wanted to give a heads up that I've moved this over to the chit-chat thread, since it wouldn't exactly fit in trade corner where we normally do our trading. Just be sure to message Ceratops directly to conduct your trades!

Pokemon OR vs AS

I was wondering if anyone wants to be my rival in Pokemon OR. I am restarting AS and want to have more of a challenge. We can set up the rules before we start. I'm in the eastern us.

Hey all I'm pretty new to the forums here but I've been playing pokemon since I was like 5 hahaha. I first played blue and then played yellow. Then I moved on to play gold/silver and crystal and then got ruby and sapphire (the first gen that I got both games of, the previous games I borrowed from friends to play) and got even more hooked. I don't know what it was specifically about ruby and sapphire (with sapphire being my favorite, even though I love fire pokemon I just loved Kyogre more) but it is always my favorite. I even got emerald once it came out. After that I got only one from every game because of economic issues and after black 2 I didn't have the money to get a 3ds to play xy. But finally this year I had some extra money as a gift and the 2ds is available at a good price and I grabbed a 2ds and a used alpha sapphire at a good price too. I was ECSTATIC that they made this wonderful remake. It is amazing. A month or so later I also got x and played through it twice already. ^_^ I wish that oras still had the trainer customization, because that's all it really lost in comparison to xy. The dexnav is a feature I hope they keep in sun and moon too. ^_^ So yeah, I've been trying to build up my pokedex now in alpha sapphire and can't wait to see what they do with sun and moon. After my long hiatus of not playing pokemon, I got in and I am once more OBSESSED.

Hi Shelly! Glad to meet another fan of these lovely remakes n_n I was a big fan of RSE too so I was super stoked too when ORAS came out! Hoenn still holds the title of the most beautiful region in my book, so seeing it in 3D was pretty amazing. How far are you into your Pokedex in Alpha Sapphire?

Hey thanks! Yeah I totally agree, Hoenn is awesome! :D Right now in alpha sapphire I've got 309 caught and seen 427. ^_^ It's a super long road ahead but I'm in no hurry hahaha! I just did my second playthrough of x so I'll be transferring more pokemon I don't have to alpha sapphire from it and I just got omega ruby and will transfer from there anything I don't have too. I'm also trying to slowly transfer all my pokemon from my gba games (sapphire-emerald-leafgreen) to platinum to then transfer them to black 2 so then they can finally get to the bank and alpha sapphire hahaha. xD But man is it a pain the way the transfers work until the bank!

Nice nice! OR and AS are really packed with Pokémon, with all the mirage spots and hidden Pokémon and all, so it's really fun completing the Dex in these games :)

And yea, transferring between gens is a big pain in the butt before the Pokemon Bank :/ Especially the 4th gen -> 5th gen PokéTransfer. The mini-game is fun sometimes, but not when you're trying to transfer mass amounts of Pokémon ><

Yeah exactly! So tiring to do. xD
But yeah, I've been enjoying going in every day on alpha sapphire to see what mirage spot has popped up. ^_^ It's a nice little thing to look forward to checking out.

It was really fun for me too until I started using StreetPass haha. Then I would have like 6 mirage spots open at once and now I've been to them all :(

Hi everyone. Could someone please tell me if we get a mega stone for groudon and kyogre in pokemon Omega Ruby? If i get them, will my primal groudon and kyogre will evolve into mega primal groudon or kyogre? I tried to google it, but was disappointed everywhere. Is there any way to do so?
