Just right... or not.

Are you a perfectionist? Do you stand a ghost of a chance (pun intended) to make your dreams a reality?

Lumina February 4th, 2016 8:00 PM

no

Talon February 4th, 2016 9:43 PM

Very much so
VERY VERY much so

I don't think my life will ever be the perfect life I want it to be. I don't think it'll ever even be close, and that will kill me inside until the day I die.

Sigh.

When you put it that way, you make your functions sound so... automatic. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that. Sorry m8.

I'm a perfectionist about things that actually matter...and not a lot matters to me anymore. Being a perfectionist over everything, and trying to control literally everything, was proving an impossibility and extremely tiring. So I quit trying.

I will get really worked up over things I care about - I demand perfection of myself in these areas, and I will not settle for second best - but for the most part, I'm satisfied just getting the job done. If it's good enough, then it's good enough. Going the extra mile never got me anywhere before when I was bothered by everything, so it probably won't now.

Mawa February 5th, 2016 9:48 AM

I am not.

I am really not a perfectionist.

I use the term "good enough" a lot XD

天 (Caine) February 5th, 2016 2:25 PM

I'm only a perfectionist when it comes to things I'm passionate about, such as school, writing, things like that. It can be quite a headache, I demand the absolute best out of myself when things are important to me. Other than that, the phrase "good enough" is good enough for me.

blue February 5th, 2016 2:52 PM

It varies, but at times I'd definitely say I'm a perfectionist to the point where it becomes borderline ridiculous.

Sothis February 5th, 2016 3:00 PM

Not really? I'm just happy as long as a finish a task, that's good enough for me xD

Treecko February 5th, 2016 3:10 PM

I am 100% a perfectionist. If something doesn't look right to me , I will sit there for hours changing it until it is perfect and I'm satisfied with it, or until I say "screw it" and stop working on it cause I'm tired or working on it. This usually happens to me when making gifs or doing art. If the colors look off, or if a single line looks funny, it will drive me mad until it looks right to me. And even after I finish something, I always go back to change it or tweak it slightly.

Hikamaru February 5th, 2016 3:16 PM

Unfortunately, I seem to have caught perfectionist traits from my mother and it makes me sometimes have to have certain things done right, such as no overcooked food.

That's exactly how I am with spriting, except art is the only thing I'm a perfectionist with.

Both of my parents are perfectionists and it definitely passed down to me. I see them having to have everything perfect and naturally I want to strive for the same. It's a bit annoying because I know that when I do things that they are good enough most of the time but if I forget one small detail or notice one imperfection...I will start over whatever I am doing just to make sure it is flawless.

Palamon February 5th, 2016 5:16 PM

Everything I do has to be absolutely perfect. If it's not perfect, then I'm not good enough. I'm incompetent . I'm only a perfectionist on myself. I don't care if something you do isn't perfect, doesn't matter to me, but it matters to me if I did it perfect.

PageEmp February 5th, 2016 7:12 PM

i think not

Pinkie-Dawn February 5th, 2016 10:28 PM

I am a perfectionist. I want to make sure that a figure or doll doesn't have any scratches or tints made from the factory and that a roster is well-organized and balanced in a CSS (character select screen).

Yes. This is me too.

It means I don't get much done, but I try to push through my disatisfaction to have SOMETHING on the table. Particularly for my art and character design. Sometimes I'll still indulge and drive myself insane with neuroticism. That's when I kind of have to leave it hanging for a few days (or weeks), come back to it and find that I either appreciate it far more than I did before or that I have a new refreshing idea to redraw/improve it.

100% No even though most of my family are.
