Marvel or DC?
I didn't see one, so I decided to post one.
This question was once asked by Nickelodeon, and I believe it was Marvel that won. But who do you like better, Marvel or DC? I have to say DC. Mainly because of Teen Titans. XP Batman is cool too. But I also like Spider-Man from Marvel. *sweatdrop falls* Oh well, DC for me. ^-^ |
I like pretty much both...
I loved DC because of "Young Justice" (Superboy, Impulse, Robin) and Green Lantern For Marvel, Spider Man and X-Men... ^_^ |
Marvel for me. I find the story's way more appealing and entertaining. I do like Superman though even though I don't like his nickname "Supes". As for Marvel, it's Wolverine & the X-Men.
X-Men has so many characters (Not as much as in the Silver Age) that it creates limitless storylines and backgrounds of old and new characters to keep it rolling fresh. Then there is my favorite, the ever so loveable Canucklehead who is the best at what he does and what he does ain't pretty (Fighting). His past is a mystery, he's lived since the 1800's, faught in WW2 with Captain America, been through a brutal adamantium feed process and I'd think it must be hard for him when it comes to love, knowing that you'll probably outlive the person you fell for because of your healing factor makes you much much younger then you should be. The guy has no fear for just being a talented fighter with claws going head on against his enemy's that makes him obviously the underdog. (Example of some of his arch-rivals: Sabertooth, Omega Red, Cyber, Magneto, the Hulk... ya get the point... I hope o.o.) |
i think both are good, i dont have a preference

Marvel, Marvel super heroes are better than the DC ones, plus the villians are better(blackheart)

Ok..well, where to begin? I spent about six hours at my local comic shop yesterday(comic nerds know..wednesday=new book day), and myself, three costumers, and four employees stood outside discussing the books we read/old sci-fi/fantasy tv shows. We all had different opinions on this, so I'll try my best to break down the best points made.
So, onto the question at hand. Which company be the best? Well, truth be told, they both have their pro's and con's. Marvel has great characters. They're more life-like, you actually see them as human beings first. The stories are usually compelling, and quite well written over at marvel. The only problem with this company is that Continuity is not enforced on the entirety of the universe. For example, in one of the best X-men stories in the past couple of years, Xorn(Magneto in disguise, well they change this later, but the original story has Magneto as Xorn), reveals himself to be Magneto and goes on to slaughter many flat-scans throughout New York. He pretty much conquers New York in a day, in the process killing the only person he felt was a threat, Jean Grey. As the final confrontation comes down, half of New York city is leveled, Wolverine shoves his claws through Mag's chest, and mutants are even more hated and feared. Pretty cool story, unfortunately, the effects of this cataclysmic battle were not touched on by any other super-hero book taking place in New York(and for Marvel, that's quite a bit of books). Basically, stories happen, and yet the after effects are never felt by anyone but the people in those books. The House of M is the next big crossover, dealing with the X-men/New Avengers/Old Avengers. They have to figure out what to do with the Scarlet Witch. You see, Scarlet Witch went insane and killed Hawkeye, Vision, and Ant-man, caused an Alien Invasion, an attack from seven Ultrons, and much more, all in one day. Basically, they have to figure out what to do with a woman who can alter reality, and is criminally insane, hopefully this even will elevate Marvel in my opinion.. DC simply has the better talent on their side. Their writers/artists are all top shelf guys. Teen Titans, Outsiders, Batman, Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, Green Latern, etc. are all required reading in the opinion of most of the people at the store(sorry, not many of us are Supes fans). They actually enforce Continuity. What happens in one book, will be referenced in another book, etc. They also have the most essential mini-series/one-shots. Identity Crisis was the last big mini-series. In it, a killer is targeting the wives/husbands/loved-ones of Super-heros. In the first issue, Elongated Man's wife is killed and the body burnt horribly. Tim Drake(Robin)'s father is killed in the second to last issue, and yet noone has a clue who the real killer is. Well, of course after Robin's father is killed by a hired super-villian, Batman is on the case and realizes who the killer is. A fellow hero named The Atom. Ahhh, but it's not the Atom, its the Atom's ex-wife, using the fear she stirred up in the super-hero community to reunite with her husband. ****. Just ****. In the Countdown To Infinite Crisis, we are treated to the Blue Beetle, one of the great detectives in the DCU, but he's not respected by anyone in the super-hero community. Everyone, but Wonder Woman and Green Latern, treat him and Booster Gold, as jokes. Blue Beetle uncovers a conspiracy that spreads throughout the entire DCU, and noone believes him. And when he confronts a former friend who is at the head of this conspiracy, he gets treated to a bullet hole straight through his head. The only problem with DC's characters, most of them are considered Gods in their world. They're humanity is often hidden from the reader, but when they do show this more human side, it is that much more effective. D.C. is the better label, simply because of content. Their stories are much more compelling, and the fact that events effect the entire universe is great. If you read Identity Crisis and are now reading Batman/Teen Titans/Outsiders, Batman knows that Zatanna wiped his mind to forget what the League did to Dr. Light. He's going to go after all of them soon, it already started in the latest Batman, and the story'll go even further in JLA. whew..its gonna be great. |
Marvel beats DC because nothin can be compared to Spiderman, X-men The Hulk, The Punisher, Daredevil or the Fantastic Four.
|
Both are great, DC has Batman Supes ect..,while Marvel has Spiderman, Deadpool, Wolvie. Their both awsome.
|
I'm not really much of a comic guy but Marvel is a lot better.
