Teaching myself Danish

So after listening to some really groovy songs by a Danish artist of which I understand 0%, I've decided I want to teach myself Danish. Let's see how long I last lol.

Any tips?

not sure if trolling or just...

well first you might want to decide if you want to learn Dutch or Danish, lol. who is this artist you listened to?

No I'm not trolling haha. I'm being serious! And I mean Danish.

Go watch Danish TV shows, and set games you're familiar with to Danish. It helps a lot to see and hear another language, and you learn quickly by seeing that in a familiar setting. And on top of that, take online classes. You won't learn grammar and vocabulary by just changing the language on some media. It only helps with the learning process.

^ pretty good idea. Also if you have Danish friends/friends who speak Danish, that's usually the best way to learn the language apart from taking classes. They can help you with your pronunciation and sentence structure and all that at your own pace.

I think my favorite peice of advice for testing your grammar/vocabulary when you're firstrying starting out is to read children's books! That way the grammar and vocabulary isn't too advanced like most TV programs and news outlets are.

GOOD LUCK!!

I picked up Spanish very quickly for some reason, apparently it's fairly easy language to learn.
My friend is learning Polish, bless her there's so many words for different things!

I would say listen/read/watch as many things in Danish, the more you're around it the more you pick it up

The website Duolingo has been recommended all over the place as a good way to start learning a language. I haven't checked it out for myself, but as I said, it's been recommended often enough that I'm sure it's good.

I was considering picking up Spanish at uni, but I decided to do Sports Coaching instead. Big contrast I know.

This site is actually pretty cool! It throws you in the deep end a little, having you already learn words without learning the alphabet. It's pretty fun to use as well with is a plus!

Regarding online courses, I would recommend Babbel. I'm currently using it to learn French and it's quite impressive. Duolingo is a nice way to compliment it.
