How does OR/AS compare to past remakes?

So Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire are our third pair of remakes in the main series thus far. In the past, there was FireRed/LeafGreen, and HeartGold/SoulSilver, which remade the Kanto and Johto games, respectively. But where do you feel OR/AS ranks, as far as remakes go?

OR/AS is my favourite of all the remakes so far. The reason behind this is partially because they were the most anticipated games for me for a long time, when they finally got announced I was extremely excited. FRLG wasn't expected, but I was nowhere near as excited for those as I was for the Ruby and Sapphire remakes, same goes for HGSS. When HGSS got announced I was excited, but because at the time RSE were my favourites, I was more anticipated for a Ruby and Sapphire remake.

Ruby and Sapphire were the main Pokemon games for me when I was growing up, it was the time that I really started to get into the franchise and therefore they hold the most significant value to me. Obviously in the run up to the remakes I was super excited to travel through the Hoenn region once again in 3D graphics, I thought they did an excellent job re-creating the region. I was sceptical at first with how it would feel having such a step up from the graphics in Gen III, but Hoenn in the 3D graphics really did deliver and felt just like it did in the originals.

I agree! I also find them to be the best, with my previous favorite being HG/SS, OR/AS surpassed them for a number of reasons. Out of all of them, it's the biggest upgrade in terms of graphics--generally speaking, FR/LG and HG/SS are still 2D like their originals, whereas OR/AS took us from 2D to 3D, which was really cool. Seeing the region get such a dramatic refresh was pretty awesome, especially a beautiful region like Hoenn.

In addition to that, I enjoy all the new features it introduced. The DexNav, Mirage Spots, and everything that was carried over from X/Y were great. And like Blue said, it still felt like the same familiar adventure we love from RSE :)

Well honestly ORAS held up to most of my expectations. Although it didnt bring trainer customization into hoenn like i had hoped it really helped to shed some cool graphics on the already beautiful hoenn region. Firstly Fortree City and Sootoplis are just like how i imagined them cool huts on treetops and a beautiful city encased by a land mass. Also i really liked the underwater trainers and graphics.

Apart from graphics ruby and sapphire had always been my favorite games, red yellow and blue were good ya but then i really didnt like leafgreen or firered in that sense but rather i loved the idea of Aqua v Magma and all and it was more a fight of ideals and had alot more sense to it than a big criminal organization stealing pokemon. Although i dont like how easy the game is i saw this coming ahead of time as all of the games have been getting easier as we move along but with new mega evolutions of some of my favorite hoenn pokemon (altaria, camerupt, swampert, sceptile) and the combined new features it was pretty awesome especially in 3D. Also id just like to point out how cool riding on mega latias/latios was amazing and the overall animation of the mega evolution in midair was stunning, combine that with millions of different views of different areas and towns you got a great remake! :D
