Oldest game you own?
Same as title. Doesn't necessary have to be something you have currently.
May 1st 1999 super mario bros deluxe :) Maybe it's even older but i count the date that it was released.
When it comes to my oldest video game that I no longer have, it is probably Lego Island since it came out in 1997. As for oldest video game that I still have, it is probably a tie between Lego Creator and Titanic Challenge of Discovery since they both came out in 1998.
I have the NES Legend of Zelda, so 1986/1987. Nearer my age I have FF7, my lovely
The GBC version of Pokemon Silver. Still guaranteed to work, and still collecting dust.
our FAMICOM aka Asian NES, basically in a nutshell. It was our first video game console and the oldest games on that library was on a neat little multi-games in one cartridge that had Super Mario, Twin Bee, Battle City, and Duck Hunt to name a few. it all came in one cart so i can't tell exactly just one game.
As for currently owned, I still have my PS2 and Dynasty Warriors 3. Yep, classic DW at its finest. |
I think the oldest game I have is Kameo Elements of Power released for the Xbox 360 in 2005 and a spyro game but I cannot remember which one. Then I had Tomb Raider Angel of darkness.
Tetris for the original Game Boy! Released way before I was born (1989) - it was my mom's, I'm pretty sure that was the first and only video game we had in the house the first few years of my life. As for my very own first game, it was Pokemon Red, which I got as a present when I was 5-ish. |
At certain points in the past we had plenty of old gaming systems (NES, Sega Genesis, even an Atari 2600 for a short period of time when I was about 2 years old), but most of those are long gone now. Of the games I still own though, it's probably one of my old PS1 games, as the majority of the ones I have came out in the late 90's.
My aunt tried giving me a NES with a Super Mario Bros. cartridge for my 10th birthday, but at that point the system was already old and broken so I never got to use it. But I do still have the SMB cartridge somewhere in storage I think. Other than that Pokemon Silver is my second oldest game.
Half-Life. And I still have it on Steam (actually I got it before I even knew about Steam, but after few years I noticed a Steam key on box, and that's how I've found out about Steam).
I probably had older games for PS or Dreamcast, but I can't remember their names to check. |
My oldest game I own is Pokemon Blue for GBC, got it back in 1998. I never had a NES or anything like that, so the first console I owned was the Gameboy Colour which I got Blue with.
Dragon Warrior for the NES, which I got somewhat recently.
Following that, pretty much any GB games I own, which could've been a number of things. Super Mario Land, some Sesame Street Game... |
Well, it has to be Super Mario Bros for the NES. I think that was released in 85'. Though I only bought the console/game about year ago. For my longest owned game, it would have to be Tetris for the original Game Boy. I've owned that game for 22 years. Yikes.
For one that I do not own, it was Super Mario Bros Deluxe for the Gameboy Color. For one that I own, I guess Yoshi's Island could count (not sure if the Virtual Console version counts).
If not, it'll be some weird GBA Frogger game I found scrounging around in my bedroom one day. |
I owned a copy of Duck Hunt (1984) at one point, and an NES zapper, too!
... But I didn't have an NES to play it on. My brother and I were sour about that. ;; Otherwise, the oldest game that we own at the moment is a gold cartridge of The Legend of Zelda (NES). |
I think the oldest game I've got is Major Stryker, which is a PC game that was released in 1993, and which I've had since...'94? I was a little kid at any rate. I played that game so many times, I memorized where nearly every enemy spawned, so for a challenge, I used to play by only tapping the "shoot" key in time with the music. :P
Oldest non-PC game...well, actually I've got some NES cartridges, but I never played them (my mom got them and the system free somewhere, but I think it was missing something...can't remember for sure, but we couldn't get it to work), so I don't really count those. So I suppose it'd be Final Fantasy 7. |
Steam just gave me the Sega version of Jet Set Radio the other day. So that's probably the oldest game I own.
Star Wars Pod Racers Had it since Christmas 1998
My oldest video game that I can think off, off the top of my head, would be the original SMB/Duck Hunt dual cart for the NES. It still works, too.
Super Mario Bros for NES
Sonic the hegdehog on the Sega Genisis 1991.
Probably Tetris for GameBoy. Don't know if I had any computer games that were technically older or not. I don't think I got any of them until 1996 or so, though.
Pokemon Blue. My parents found it out in the garage with my old Gameboy SP. lol good times... good times... XD
As for computer games, I'd say a Barbie detective game I had back before I discovered the internet. Either that, or my Magic School Bus games. Man, I loved playing my Magic School Bus games though. I was literally addicted to them. <3 |
I still have my Pokemon Silver cartridge! I haven't touched it since but I'm still curious if it still works. It must be worth something.
