Is there a Western/Cowboy anime?
To the likes of Naruto for Ninjas and One Piece for Pirates.
|
Well... Cowboy Beebop for example? =D
Also, I suppose you can count Trigun as western anime. |
You aren't going to get many John Wayne style westerns in anime but there are some that certainly have the setting.
Tezuka's Angel Gunfighter, Steel Ball Run [Later Jojo's Bizarre Adventure series] and Gun Blaze West are three manga series that fit the bill. Space Cowboys are quite popualr in toons. Bebop, Outlaw Star, Trigun and Gun Frontier all have them. |
I did look up Cowboy BeBop, looks interesting but wasn't looking for the space-cowboy deal. I mean technically I'm not looking at all, just wondering since there is Naruto and One Piece.

Some of the things mentioned feel more like cowboy shows than Naruto and One Piece feel like Pirate or Ninja shows though. They're pretty much fantasy magic series.
ps - Just remembered this masterpiece. |
