Old CRT TV Questions
I have in my possession an ancient, almost 15 year old (at least, I can't really remember how old it is,) Sylvania 13" CRT television hooked up to a 4-way RCA switchbox. I currently have my Sega Genesis, my Super Nintendo, my plug-n-play game thingamajig with 5 arcade games in it, and my Gamecube hooked up to it with one port remaining, and because I'm a strange person who gets all fuzzy inside when I play games on a fuzzy old television set I've had since I was small I want to hook my laptop up to it so I can watch Youtube on it because it's the closest thing I'll ever have to actually being able to watch cable on the thing. Out of curiosity and mild amusement, how would I go about doing this? I know it would be next to impossible to do but I always felt my television set could be more than just a thing I turn on to play video games and it's always bugged me that I never could just watch television normally on it.

It sounds like you'd need a VGA/DVI to SVideo converter box or something. I know they exist for component cables but I'm not sure about for old CRTs. You could probably find one on amazon/newegg if you cared enough to buy it.

Does your laptop have native S-video and/or composite video out? If not, then you'd have to invest in a VGA-to-composite or VGA-to-S-Video converter.
