Came here to shoot down any Mega Farfetch'd suggestions, but seems like people are sensible. :) Farfetch'd is perfect as is. It doesn't need to be good. It shouldn't be to begin with.

Also hope Flygon never gets a mega. I want it to be a long running joke.

Anywho, Mega Machamp and Mega Golem yo. Doesn't feel right for them to be left behind when Gengar and Alakazam got'em, especially when those two didn't need megas. Also please nothing uninspired like more arms for Machamp, the champ deserves better.

Basically the explanation for Mega Evolution being in Hoenn despite it being written in as a seemingly Kalos-only thing in XY (why they did that still confuses me) is by implying in the Delta Episode that ORAS takes place in a parallel dimension to the rest of the main series where Mega Evolution was not Kalos-exclusive. All post-XY games that include mega evolution are likely to be in this alternate dimension, so the Pokemon universe is basically split between:

Dimension 1: R/B/Y through XY
Dimension 2: ORAS and likely Sun/Moon and every main series game from this point on

Super-Truant: It rests a turn and elevates its hp by half of it, and elevates its stats

Or RSE/FrLg through XY as dimension 2, with OrAS and SM being 3, with RGBY though GSC being dimension one. It should stay this way until XY or SM remakes.

I'd like to see the Johto starters, but I don't think they should have any new types. They're the only pure-type starter trio, and I don't think that should change, even with megas.

I'd also like to see Mega Sinnohs and some other sinnoh pokemon like Luxray, Pachirisu, Roserade, and Chimecho.

We might get Sinnoh remakes soon, so I think they should hold off on Sinnoh starter megas.

If Johto's remain pure they should all get variations of Normalize/Pixelate/Glaciate.

Golden_Dragon123 April 25th, 2016 5:52 AM

Well I thought about it again and I found that there were a lot of my fav mons across generations that deserved a Megs. So I came up with a detailed list of my own with my own reasoning. I did Gen 1 today. Will upload for other gens later. So here they are :-

Gen 1:-

Mega Butterfree
Type:- Bug/Psychic
Ability :- Prankster
Stats :- 60/15/90/140/90/100
Possible Set :-
Sleep Powder
Quiver Dance
Psychic
Bug Buzz

Remarks :- Butterfree was always the specially offensive counterpart of Beedrill and it also perfectly suits the Bug/Psychic typing (Oh! The big hypnotic eyes!).Given the array of status moves it posseses, Prankster seems to be a good ability that can be given to it. Bug Buzz and Psychic should be good STAB moves and Quiver Dance boost is always welcome and should already boost its high special stats. I can envision quite a few sets with this.

Mega Nidoqueen
Type:- Poison/Ground
Ability :- Sheer Force
Stats :- 90/92/117/115/115/76
Possible Set :-
Earth Power
Stealth Rock / Toxic
Ice Beam / Thunderbolt / Flamethrower
Sludge Wave

Remarks :- This may not look like a lot of fancy but I have always envisioned Nidoqueen as more of a specially oriented defensive pokemon. Although I still believe there can be a better stat distribution and others this is the most I could come up with. With Sheer Force and good amount of bulk it can be a good hazard setter as well as cause quite a damage to a few types with Sheer Force boosted moves given its increase in Special Attack

Mega Nidoking
Type :- Poison/Ground
Ability :- Sheer Force
Stats :- 81/137/77/140/75/95
Possible Set :-
Earth Power
Sludge Wave
Ice Beam
Flamethrower

Remarks :- This set may surely give an edge to Nidoking. With enough Speed and SpA EV investment he may be able to gain some newfound heights and allow it to take on Fairy types with a new zeal. Of course better sets may be thought of.

Mega Arcanine
Type :- Fire
Ability :- Flash Fire
Stats :- 90/140/80/140/80/125
Morning Sun
Flare Blitz / Fire Blast
Crunch / Close Combat
Wild Charge

Remarks :- With this huge boost in Speed and Attack power Arcanine may become one of the strongest pokemon in the tier. Many great sets come into mind. Flash fire was the only ability I could think of as of now ut yes many other great abilities can be thought of.

Mega Machamp
Type :- Fighting
Ability :- No Guard
Stats :- 90/175/120/85/85/55
Dynamic Punch
Knock Off
Stone Edge / Ice Punch
Bullet Punch / Poison Jab

Remarks :- Well its basically Alakazam's physical counterpart. Its massive attack and defense are compensated by its poor speed and SpD. No Guard allows STAB Dynamic Punch to hit accurately to cause confusion without any penalty and allows Stone Edge to take care of any annoying Flying types. Ice Punch may also be used as well. Last slot is dedicated for checking the Fairies.

Mega Rapidash
Type :- Fire
Ability :- Drought
Stats :- 65/135/80/90/90/140
Morning Sun
Flare Blitz
Wild Charge
Will-O-Wisp / Drill Run

Remarks :- Drought should be able to compensate for Rapidash's weak defenses. Its terrific speed and attack make it a solid physical attacker with reliable recovery in Drought boosted Morning Sun. Will-O-Wisp can be used to wear enemy down with Burns or Drill Run can be used for taking care of unruly Rock types.

Mega Lapras
Type :- Water/Ice
Ability :- Water Absorb / Refrigerate
Stats :- 130/85/110/115/125/70
Freeze Dry
Ice Beam / Hyper Voice (if Refrigerate is given)
Hydro Pump
Psychic

Remarks :- Although I genuinely want Lapras to get a Mega Evo its really hard for me to come to think about a proper ability for it owing to its quite a few serious weaknesses. Water Absorb may prove to be a good ability owing to its defensive nature but Refrigerate can be a boon for it too. It has good bulk and can take on quite a few hits. STAB Freeze Dry is for taking care of Water types and Ice Beam complemets it. If Refrigerate is thge ability then Hyper Voice is preferred. Hydro Pump is its strongest STAB Water type move and Psychic can take care of Fighting types who ight threaten it.

Mega Snorlax
Type :- Normal
Ability :- Thick Fat
Stats :- 160/140/80/80/140/40
Curse
Return / Body Slam
Earthquake /Fire Punch
Zen Headbutt

Remarks :- The great boost that it recieves in its attack and SpA should already make it a solid tank strong enough to break through tough walls. Curse is its primary attack boosting move. Return is used for terrific STAB damage. Body Slam can be used if Paralysis is desired. Fire Punch can help deal with bulky steel types like Ferrothorn. Earthquake adds the ability to deal with Rock types at the cost of being useless to Flying types. Finally Zen Headbutt boosted by its high attack will be able to take care of Fighting tupes

Mega Dragonite
Type :- Dragon/Flying
Ability :- Multiscale
Stats :- 91/164/110/140/115/80
As many sets you can think of

Remarks :- Well there is nothing much to say about this. One can only imagine how dangerous this monster becomes when it gets boost to its already high stats. There are multiple of sets that can take advantage of such a boost and given its wide movepool this makes it tougher to bring it down as well

Famon April 25th, 2016 11:44 PM

Well , I wanted to see a Mega Goodra until Ash released it.

Runiel April 26th, 2016 3:34 AM

Mega Volcarona would be so sick (Gen V also need some Megas), hmm, also Mega Farfetch'd (Just Imagine Farfetch'd Holding 2 Giant Sticks using Fighting Moves against Legendaries Pokemon, that would be damn Epic)
And last but not Least... We need a MEGA-YANMEGA, c'mon we need that, it would be so Useful.

Also, I am almost more than 100% sure that the Johto Starters are gonna get Mega Evolutions, like, it's Essential for them to get a Mega.

Xertified April 26th, 2016 4:45 AM

Mega Solrock.
Mega Lunatone.

Alright, moderators close this thread. Question answered xD.

I don't know whether that'll really happen anytime soon. I have a feeling they introduced Ash Greninja just to appease fans wanting a mega Greninja. Maybe next gen but it feels too soon now.

Interesting theory, I guess. Ash Greninja seems like something I would have imagined for a Mega Greninja design, but that might just be me.

nemesish April 27th, 2016 9:11 PM

Filter - Mega Golem
No Guard - Mega Machamp

WANDERING-POKEMON-TRAINER April 28th, 2016 9:45 AM

The only thing I dislike about Greninja is his defense. He just can't take a hit. Other than that, he's a great special sweeper and I'm really hoping he gets a Mega Evolution because when he does, it's game over.

TheLegendaryGuy April 29th, 2016 1:31 AM

I would love to see a mega raichu and a mega dragonite. Just wondering what would be the name of the mega stone for dragonite..dragoniteite ? Dosen't that sound a bit peculiar ?
One more wish, i also want a mega pikachu. Now people are probably going to ask, "Why Pikachu? It's not fully evolved. Only Fully Evolve and Pokémon who can't evolve can Mega Evolve." Well that maybe true, but the main reason is because of Ash's Pikachu in the anime. He refuses to evolve into Raichu and wants to continue battling as a Pikachu and since the Pokémon that can Mega Evolve returns back to it's previous state after the battle is over, that would mean that Pikachu will remain as a Pikachu. It would also be good if we get a mega machamp and a mega 'meeew' X and Y.

LazyMew123 May 8th, 2016 11:24 AM

Guys, we need a mega flygon.

PokeTrekkie92 May 8th, 2016 11:27 AM

I would like to see Mega Flygon, Mega Typhlosion, Mega Infernape and Mega Emboar

Gigadweeb May 9th, 2016 12:58 AM

I'd rather them stay away from Megas, unless they're for pre-Gen 4 mons. Power creep is way too strong given how the meta is currently going, and pretty well all but the staples (eg. Starmie, Gengar and Alakazam) are outclassed hard.

Famon May 9th, 2016 1:00 AM

I would want a Mega Goodra if Ash hadn't release it.

Sonikkts May 19th, 2016 1:18 PM

Hey all,

First of all, I made a quick video on this if anyone's interested

I really want less 'establised' Pokémon and more Pokémon who are lagging stat wise.

Ardeil May 19th, 2016 8:33 PM

Some Kalos Pokemon for Mega Candidates would be nice. I was thinking of Mega Pangoro, Mega Goodra, or a Mega Pyroar. I don't know how it would turn out, but a Mega Furfrou would be cool.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 19th, 2016 9:35 PM

Mega Dragonite and Mega Hydreigon are good candidates for Megas seeing how we got 2 Psuedo megas in XY, and another 2 in OrAs. Then whatever follows SM can have Mega Goodra and the Alola Pseudo, or Mega Slaking.

Wethrin May 19th, 2016 10:44 PM

I could see a mega eevee or a mega crobat, that would be great!
But I'm more excited to see burst or something like that

MarinoKadame May 19th, 2016 10:58 PM

Hopefully we get Johto starters mega.

Kalos Megas: Aromatisse and Heliolisk.

Unova Megas: Whimsicott, Cofagrigus, Scolipede and Conkeldurr.

Sinnoh Megas: Mismagius, Honchkrow, Froslass, Magnezone, Lickilicky, Probopass, Weavile and Ambipom.

Johto Megas: Jumpluff, Politoed, Bellossom, Sudowoodo, Granbull, Miltank and Mamoswine.

HardstyleRaver2 May 20th, 2016 4:52 AM

I would love to see Mega Kingdra, Mega Flygon, and Mega Hydreigon.

blue May 20th, 2016 6:01 AM

I'd guess that the main focus would be on Unova and Kalos Megas since each only have one with other Regions having 5+ each. If Mega Evolution isn't the main focus of these games then the total count could be significantly less than that of Generation VI.

Famon May 20th, 2016 6:07 AM

I want --

--Mega Torkoal

--Mega Leavanny

--Mega Snorlax

Iceshadow3317 May 20th, 2016 10:13 AM

Hmm. I do not remember if I have posted here or not. But currently I want 2 sets of starters to get megas. Johto and Sinnoh right now. I also would like to see Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno to get Megas. And I think we will get a Lugia Mega or Primal with Lugia being the only legendary on Ash's side in the Hoopa movie who couldn't Mega evolve. It would be amazing to have a sequel to Pokemon 2000 in Sun and Moon, especially with the region most likely going to include islands, and so far, every single island chain in pokemon history, other than the Decolora Islands, has had Lugia in them. Orange Islands, Whirl Islands, Sevi Islands. All have had Lugia.

I would also like to see a hand full of Unova Megas. Namely Krokodile and Vanilluxe. Making Vanillux part Fairy.

And although Dunsparce is a pokemon that needs some love, it needs to evolve first. A Mega Dunsparce isn't going to help it at all. It would be labeled as one of the weakest Mega Evolutions and no one will use still. it needs an evolution first. Sometimes I think people forget that a Mega only adds 100 to the base stats. This would also repeat exactly what a lot of people didn't like last time. Pokemon who could have had another normal evolution, got thrown under the bus and just gave them a Mega instead.

I don't know why Audino even got a Mega to begin with. The Mega Audino would have been an amazing evolution for it.

Wildfenrir May 20th, 2016 10:28 AM

As long as Jynx and Farfetch'd don't get megas, I'm okay. They deserve a evolution than a mega.

just because pseudo-legendaries megas are a thing, my gess is that Dragonite and Hydreigon will be the next ones.

I am thinking Dragonite and Raichu for sure with this being the 20th Ann. They probably are having problems creating a Dragonite Mega similar to how they had trouble with Flygon.

That's right, even it's appearance in Hoenn (OrAS (Navel Rock is in the Sevii islands irc so I'm not counting Emerald for that reason)) fits the pattern of it appearing in islands.

Yeah, the only one it worked for was Mawile, the rest of the Pokemon with low to average stats weren't very good even after a Mega. And as you said Mega Audino shouldn't have been it's Mega, but a normal evolution, it would've fit well since it's a Blissey clone.

MEGA BELLOSSOM

I cannot stress this enough. From being a Sun Stone evolution, to being based on a HULA GIRL, it would seem fitting for it to be introduced here...

I can see it being Grass/Fairy or maybe even Poison/Fairy to actually compensate its disadvantage against Vileplume.

mokonasakura May 21st, 2016 4:19 PM

Only 2 I care to see mega raichu and mega ninetales.

smocks May 21st, 2016 5:36 PM

At the end of the day, I don't really care. Of course, I have ones that I'd like to see, but I really couldn't care less who does/doesn't get a mega.

That said though, I'd love to get mega Togekiss and Snorlax, as well as the Johto starters (honestly, Johto starters are really the only ones I'm opinionated about, I really want them). I'd also be really happy if they trolled everyone by not giving Lunatone/Solrock/Espeon/Umbreon/etc a mega. I'd just like to see some more obscure Pokemon get megas - Slowbro and Kangaskhan are two of my favorites megas, I'd love for more forgettable Pokemon to get them and become relevant again.

I actually don't want to see more Megas for legendaries, because we already have some that are very overpowered.

Caaethil May 27th, 2016 10:36 AM

Mega Johto starters. Pretty please?

WingsofBliss May 27th, 2016 10:45 AM

With the space theme vibe that I'm getting from these games and the game titles, I will be very surprised if they don't give us Megas for Solrock and Lunatone. I wanted Tate and Liza to have them in ORAS, but alas...

Hmm i think they sould add a Mega evolution to all starter pokemons from the old generations who don't have any. I mean..why Infernape, Torterra and Empoleon don't have mega evolutions?

Other good choices in my opinion:
- Raichu
- Giratina
- Arceus
- Lugia
- Arcanine
- Weavile

And a lot more...

To keep the balance, I hope to see "unfamous" or mostly "disliked" Pokemon have their mega forms. But I do want to see Mega Milotic, and Mega Electivire and Magmortar, or even better, I would like to see, Mega Johto starters...

This is all purely speculation, but if gen 6 trends are to be followed, I have a feeling we will get a remake of gen 4 as well.

But as per the OP, the mega I would love to see are:
-Mega for jhoto starters
-Mega flygon
-Mega Golum
-Mega Machamp
-Mega Dragonite
-Mega Kingdra
-Mega Poliwrath
-Mega Arcanine
-Mega Lunatone and Solrock
-Any other dragon or dragon looking pokemon getting a mega
-Mega Walrein??? :v

And if we do have a gen 4 remake I would expect:
-Mega sinnoh starters
-Primal Revision of Dialga, Palkia (i don't know of garatina since he as a orgin form)
-Mega Arceus

Otherwise I think thats about it, willing to entertain other ideas!

I am pretty sure I have said it already, but I am strongly expecting Mega Lugia or something for Lugia.

Lugia was in the Hoopa movie and fought Hoopa Unbound for a bit, but was sent back very early on. Lugia has made an appearance the the new starter decks as the main pokemon. And Lugia has 'appeared' on the map of the Alola Region shaped by clouds. This would lead to Ho-oH also getting one. Not to mention it is also seen in the clouds.

I am also expecting the Legendary Birds to get a Mega. I as expecting them to get one in Z because we got 1 of the birds in each game. So this leaves me to believe they will also get one.

Raichu and Dragonite are also ones I am expecting to see, especially with it being the 20th Ann.

No. Dunsparce needs an evolution first. Giving it a Mega now would not do anything to it. It would literally be the weakest Mega Pokemon and would still be useless.

I agree with this, but lets be realistic: with Mega-Ray, Mega Latios/Latias existing, there's bound to be more legendaries that have megas. It's ridiculous but it is what it is lol.

I don't. Not to mention it has been said somewhere, where they eventually want all pokemon to have a Mega or something similar. Most Legends are already banned from tournaments, so I don't see a problem with it.

Adore June 13th, 2016 9:27 PM

Shuckle.

I would also happily take a mega evolution for Milotic, Flygon, Dragonite, and more of the starters.
