I actually would not mind another owl Pokémon, another horse Pokémon, another camel Pokémon, another sheep Pokémon and another cow Pokémon. Another thing I want is a Water/Ground Type Crocodile or Alligator Pokémon.

There has been heavy speculation and analysis that we might be getting an owl for the new Grass-type starter. The other two have been rumoured to be a cat and a sea lion.

Spinda is actually based on a species of panda called a Qinling panda, which is known for being a more brown-red colour. The Qinling was also what inspired Pancham and Pangoro's shiny colouration.

I would like to see a Pokemon based on the actual red panda though.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire April 29th, 2016 10:02 PM

I'll like to see another Cow Pokémon.

Haven't we had enough Water Type sea-lion Pokémon? We'd probably get a Seel/Spheal/Sealeo/Walrein hybrid. Then again, we have had four Water Type frog Pokémon, Politoed and Froakie, Frogadier and Greninja and five Fire-Type fox Pokémon, Vulpix and Ninetales and Fennekin, Braxien and Delphox. So, it wouldn't be that much of a problem... Maybe they'll base it off of "Kurusu" (a prototype Pokémon, which can be seen below), like they did with Tirtouga.

I'm sure they'll still do something different with it, like how they made all those frog/toad Pokemon different in some way.

Pepperton April 30th, 2016 4:29 PM

A dolphin would be rad, but I love sea lions so I'm biased in hoping that we get to have one as a starter. It would be actually so rad to see that prototype mon get revamped and put into S/M, I would by hype for that. I've always thought it was the cutest thing ;O;

Alternatively a water fox and fire frog would be amazing tbh. We have poison and water frogs... Why not one that can spit fire?? (based around a cane toad).

If it was called Magcane ( magma / cane) you'd get...

MAGCANE, you've done it again!

(Hikari will get the joke)

A water fox wouldn't be too far of a stretch though. A lot of water types in Pokémon are seen as majestic, so a water fox would fit right in.

We haven't had a dolphin Pokemon yet, and given the speculation regarding the new region it seems like we could have the perfect opportunity for one.

Anyways, thanks to Sideshow Bob for bringing up Kurusu again. I recall it was initially intended to be the Water-type starter for 2nd Gen, but was rejected and Totodile was created in its place. It could be interesting if we do get a Water starter that seems to be based off Kurusu.

Imagine walking through bloody cane paddocks to catch Pokémon. We'd have to watch out for Taison and Toxipan (taipan based Pokémon)...

MarinoKadame May 1st, 2016 7:56 AM

I would like to see Honoguma being used too.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/6/6e/Alpha_honouguma.png

Fanart of it.

PkmnTrainerElio May 1st, 2016 8:14 AM

We need another Elephant Pokémon... It's been six generations since we got one and I want another. I would also like if they would take interest in Australian wildlife for once... The only Pokémon that is even remotely based off of an Australian animal is Kangaskhan and that barely even looks like a kangaroo for Christ's sake!

Drake22ice May 1st, 2016 11:44 AM

A fire/electric or fairy /dark koala would be cute as long as it ha big ears.. that would be good for Australian animal..

I know I have been hating on those supposed starters, but that fire thing does suggest they might finally be going more cute monster-like rather than animal.. what would you think

Except that there's the possibility those might not be the final designs for the starters.

MarinoKadame May 2nd, 2016 9:32 AM

It would be funny if they were to use those for Sun & Moon.

And maybe add new Unown.

TheKantoKid May 3rd, 2016 7:31 PM

I personally want to see a new snake, a tiger, poison and dragon even evolutions, evolutions for Jynx, Farfetch D, Dunsparce, and some split evolutions for pokemon that already evolve

illumine May 3rd, 2016 7:37 PM

Central decisions about the early game may include:

1. Whether they opt to go with the 'cuter,' more straightforward direction of recent games when it comes to starters, or opt for something apparently less pronounced - like, as said, a dolphin - or indeed, more aggressive, as with the Charmander line and so on - less likely to be done correctly, as they have generally softened down the games so far as encouraging such things, substantially.
2. Re-using previous types, or a completely new region. Without a follow-up to X/Y, there is a possibility of seeing some species from that return, in some manner; however, they might opt to go with a mostly new region, or reach even further back this time.
3. Whether to continue with the archetypes of earlier games, as for instance the Taillow-Starly-etc. variants, or try to reconfigure the game a bit.
4. How far the technological and dragon-esque design in legendaries goes after Magearna. Perhaps all of the new legendaries shall be technology? If so, perhaps science shall be the new discovery, as a form of evolution, and it shall be the real force behind Ash-Greninja form and so on. And maybe, whether or not all of the legendaries still look like D/P's, they shall initiate a plot where they are used to turn everything into technology and you must stop them before they alter all the Pikachu, Torchic, Chikorita, and so on.

A new Digital Pokemon that was born from a Computer virus that eat/destroy/delete data ! Basically another pokemon like "Porygon" that will not be banned for Pikachu.

We also need Pokemon who power level reach the creation trio !
It feel like Sinnoh pokemon are stronger then all other Pokemon due to their Power scale and only only Hoopa unbound can match it .

Also , New Evolution of Hawlucha !
It feels like Hawlucha can have better design as the first Fighting/flying pokemon after looking at some Bird Digimon-

I imagine , Hawlucha will become bigger and Bulkier like Wrestler ! It wing will often act like cape that hide its powerful arm . It also has fist attach to his wing.
Its leg should also become more Bird-like. The Pokedex should mention his relationship with Blaziken as Training Buddy.
I believe that Hawlucha need a extra pair of Arm to fight evenly in Sky ! It shown in Anime that Hawlucha can fight properly in Sky since he has to use his wing-arm to fly.
Plus , I can get over my anger to Hawlucha if it gets a better evolution.

I, for one, am expecting a lot of new Fairy types.

Yep, me too. Expecting some cute, new fairy types and some cool combinations of dark with other types, like dark fire, or dark water, or dark fighting, or even dark fairy. That would be cool, no??

I think we'll definitely get a lot of new Fairy-types, especially with all the type combinations that we still have yet to get for the type. 6th Gen didn't have a lot due to being the type's debut but now that we have a new generation we need more expansion to the type, both movepool-wise and Pokemon-wise.

Iceshadow3317 May 14th, 2016 6:23 AM

I am also betting there will be more fairy types, and I think it is possible that Popplio is one of them. I just hope they can make them more boyish. I mean I like what we have, but it would be nice for them to make some for boys. Most of the ones we have, you'd expect females to have them. Although I don't mind it much, I think it would just be nice.

I think I have said at an earlier point in the thread, but I kinda hope that the Psudeo Legendary line(s) are Fairy/Bug or at least Fairy. We got a Steel and Dark Psudeo when the types were released. (Tyranitar and Metagross)

I am saying that it would be nice to have some that doesn't look like a girl would be the only one to use them. They don't have to be totally boyish. Currently most of them are pink or flowery. It would be nice if they stepped away from them having to be pink. That was my mad for explaining it wrong. All I am trying to say, more purple, orange, red or blue fairy types would be nice.

A fairy type shouldn't have to look like a girl would love or like. It would be nice to have gender neutral ones. I guess it is really hard to explain.

I agree with you on this. The pseudo are generally dragons too so that will be cool.

Spinosaurus May 14th, 2016 12:32 PM

I really fancy a tiki Pokemon. I mean it's Hawaii, and it can be Grass/Fire!

http://i.imgur.com/M0rd4fd.png

I always thought that the best Grass/Fire mon would be something like a Jack-O-Lantern, but GF went with Ghost/Grass for that. Can't say no to tikis though.

MarinoKadame May 14th, 2016 12:41 PM

Grass/Fire can also be some kind of spicy pepper.

AliceBlaze May 14th, 2016 1:17 PM

Now that we know that the Alola region is based on Hawaii, I think it's about time they release a dolphin based Pokemon.

Spinosaurus May 14th, 2016 1:27 PM

Kyogre is an orca and orcas are dolphins. We've had one since gen 3 yo. Jokes aside, another Shark Pokemon seems really likely to me as well.

Iceshadow3317 May 14th, 2016 1:47 PM

Would love to see a hammer head shark.

What about fossils? I am really hoping for a Pteranodon and Parasaurolophus to a throwback for the Dinosaur Adventure 3D games. I am not sure when the game came out, but I think it would be a neat throwback for 90s kids who played the games.

Drake22ice May 14th, 2016 2:01 PM

There are plenty of hawaiian myths dealing with fairies and monsters that could be considered in fairy folklore. http://www.to-hawaii.com/hawaiian-myths-and-legends.php

There is a possibility for a Shark boy (water/fairy) pokemon to be manly enough for you.

Kung Fu Ferret May 14th, 2016 2:34 PM

I would like fossils that are based on obscure prehistoric mammals like the Diprotodon and Elasmotherium.

Spinosaurus May 14th, 2016 3:24 PM

For fossils I looked up Paleontology in Hawaii and it's mostly fossils of marine animals and prehistoric birds.

I'm not really expecting dinosaurs again.

I believe you are thinking of Megalania, the largest lizard ever, lived in Australia until about 12,000 years ago.
Or are you thinking of Dimetrodon, which lived way before dinosaurs did, yet was an ancestor of mammals?.
Anywho, there are many species of extinct species that are just begging to be Pokémon fossils.

Here are a few possibilities:

Kentrosaurus (African stegosaur)
Diprotodon (giant wombat)
Megatherium ( ground sloth)
Dimetrodon (mammal-like Reptile)
Megaloceros ( Irish Elk)
Glyptodon (ancient armadillo)
Sivatherium (okapi relative)
Deinosuchus (super croc)
Velociraptor (need I explain?)
Mammoth (make it realistic)
Smilodon (Sabertooth cat)
Carnotaurus (begging to be a Pokémon)
Woolly rhinoceros (though unlikely)

MarinoKadame May 14th, 2016 5:21 PM

We need a Giant short-faced bear fossil being Rock/Normal.

Yes the Megalania was what I was thinking of!

And a sabertooth would be amazing! A highly requested mon as well.

I think its an Inugami pokemon , That would explain those beat around its neck !
In that case , It could be a unique Fairy/Ghost type pokemon.

Entermaid May 16th, 2016 9:11 PM

My thoughts on the new pokemon shown in the latest Sun and Moon trailer:

The possible amalgamation of deer/dog/squirrel/rabbit reminds me of eevee. After all, eevee is an amalgamation of fox/cat/dog. I would like to see this pokemon follow suit with eevee except it gains a new form rather than evolution while holding onto a stone or depending on environment - therefore it would be more adaptable to its climate, following suit with the conservation theme. Also, the little black marks on the collar could be where the stones are placed, like pendants on a collar. But, this is a stretch...I would like to see some form of connection to eevee though if it is indeed a hybrid of animals.

...Or it is just a cute normal type dog and I am completely off base.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 16th, 2016 9:27 PM

I think it could be a young hooved animal.

On a side note: I've always been incredibly annoyed that Pumpkaboo wasn't part Fire but whatever.

That design is awesome though - there's no reason they can say no to having a tiki-based Pokemon. It's the perfect region for it and it's now or never. Dolphin too. Give the people their dolphin, Alola.

Ardeil May 18th, 2016 6:59 PM

I'm curious as to what kind of Ghost-type Pokemon they'll be adding for this region. I think a tiki Pokemon would be great, and it could possibly be some kind of Ghost-type.

Draggy101 May 18th, 2016 8:06 PM

Beside Tiki, I think we need another inanimated pokemon like Ukulele or Surfboard.

BroRarity May 20th, 2016 12:27 PM

I wouldn't mind more sharks, we need something besides Sharpedo
Piranha's wouldn't hurt either.

I would honestly would like a Ghost/Fairy in the form of maybe a Pixie-type firefly. (Celebi comes to mind here)

Other typings I'd like to see would be...

Grass/Fire
Water/Electric
Fairy/Poison
Water/Fire
Fire/Dragon (Less uber'ish)
Water/Grass
Dark/Fairy
Normal/Ghost (only weakness would be Dark)
Steel/Water (I liked Empoleon, but we needed better)
Psychic/Normal (Like Meloetta or Girafarig)
Poison/Dragon
Bug/Dragon
Bug/Dark
and also more Mono-types in Poison, Fairy, Dragon, Steel, Flying, Dark, Ice, and Ghost types.

jappo May 20th, 2016 2:26 PM

Just give me a Dolphin and I am completely fine with the rest ;)

countryemo May 20th, 2016 4:41 PM

I would LOVE a Pre-Evo for Tropius, and a Mega. More Pre-Evos for other Pokemon would be appreciated too.

I kinda want to see them bring back more beta Pokemon. Such as an un-named Rabbit idea that had a flower on its nose, would fit right in Alola. I also wouldn't mind a Fire/Grass Tiki like suggested, though it'll probably be Ghost or Fairy knowing Gamefreak. Water/Electric will also be a cool typing to bring.

Iceshadow3317 May 20th, 2016 7:44 PM

I really really want a Wreath Pokemon. It could be Ice/Fairy. In Kalos we got a few pokemon that matched Halloween greatly and the games came out in... October I think it was. So I was extremely excited about it.

I really want them to maybe make a few pokemon inspired by the Winter Holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.

Some types i really want to see are the following:
Ice/Elec
Ice/Flying
Ice/Fairy
Ice/Dragon
Dragon/Fairy
Poison/Fairy

Some ideas I want are:
Wreath Pokemon
Dolphin Pokemon
A Tiger (Which I think we will get as a starter)
Tiger Shark
Hammerhead Shark
A Parrot Pokemon Line.
Black Bear
Goose
Wolf
Blue Jay Pokemon
Cardinal Pokemon.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 20th, 2016 9:09 PM

I'll like a trio (doesn't have to be legendary, could be like the Jynx, Ele, Mag trio) that uses the Fire, Ice, and Electric types and pairs them up with Dark, Fighting, and Psychic respectively. The Ice/Fighting can have a Pokedex entry along these lines "A Pokemon that has trained it's body in the coldest regions of the world." Psychic/Electric would have something like "Has powerful psychic abilities. It can discharges high voltage thunderbolts straight from it's brain against those that seek to do it harm."

AtecainCorp. May 21st, 2016 7:20 AM

I'm searching for basis animals for legendaries. Solgaleo and Lunaala... And In my opinion it was.

SOLGALEO - White lion. This mysterios animals have own legend as the Ghost of died lions. Why I mention about it? Becouse that African legend is according to the Sun related theory of their creation.

LUNAALA - Flying Fox. Largest kind of living bats. They nocturnal lifestyle is ideal to make from them new legendary pokemon.

From proposition of new Pokemons.

I have idea to make one Pokemon related to the MARS and one for VENUS. They can be mythical Pokemons... But it would be great to have pokemon related to other Planets.

From normal line of pokes.

1. Ankylosaur fossil pokemon
2. Tucano
3. Mosqito
4. Horseshoe Crab or Pacific Crab
5. Prawn
6. SeaWeed
And the final Idea is
7. Condor

From Alola as Tropical water Region I expect massive comeback of pokes like.

Wingull and Peliper, Alomomola and Luvdisc, Jellicent, Executor, Tropius and Sudowoodo and Bonsly.

Iceshadow3317 May 24th, 2016 6:25 AM

Possibly some upsetting news for a lot of people. Me included.

I was reading about Sun and Moon and apparently according to a new article, the Sun and Moon Strategy Guide will be 350 pages long. There is also a collector's edition that may have more. But XY's strategy guide had 418 pages, 288 pages were the game walkthrough.

Now this could just be them lowering the amount of pages. Especially since we don't have is much new stuff this time like Mega, new type, ect. At least not that we know yet. But if this was use for a indication of how many pokemon we have, it might be a problem.

Also note that Pokemon BW had 256 pages. So what I have said could mean nothing.

Iceshadow3317 May 24th, 2016 3:06 PM

I don't, but yes, a good amount of people still buy them.

I have noticed another trend that might be broken, but we have had a Psychic Duel type Mythic ever since Mew, other than in 4th Gen, but we got a lot of Psychic types at that point in time.

Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Victini, Meloetta, and Hoopa have all been part psychic. That being said, I hope they continue this trend. I am hoping for a Even Legend Psychic/Electric and Psychic/Ice

Mawa May 24th, 2016 4:40 PM

Guys I'll say it again and again, but I want a Betta fish, water/fight. Male and female will look different. Please, let it be the generation we'll have it!

Benermerut May 24th, 2016 6:17 PM

I'm usually pretty neutral on the inanimate object Pokémon, but recently I've started really wanting a grandfather clock Pokémon.

It could be a standalone, or it could be a final evo (something like mantel clock -> wall clock -> grandfather clock) but I just really really want one.
I'm thinking it would be Fairy/Psychic, but I could see Ghost being appropriate, or even Steel.

This region doesn't seem like the best place to introduce one, though...

One thing I don't like about them somewhat trying to make Pokemon fit in. Bar Kanto, why is a Kangaroo there.. Also why its taking so long to get a dolphin Pokemon, though we could've got a Orca by now. A Germany region could be cool, then we could get the clock Pokemon and a chemistry Pokemon.

Esper May 24th, 2016 7:44 PM

I want a Psychic/Bug, whether it's the regional bug or otherwise I don't really mind. I'd like it not to be a bookworm necessarily, but I'd be okay with that.

Well, we got Kyogre.

I remember that one of the fake Pokemon discovered in the XY pre-release period was a Dark/Bug spider. I would like to see that type combination come to be real, even if it's not the insect I expect for it.

PkmnTrainerElio May 24th, 2016 7:47 PM

Hopefully we'll see some Pokémon based off of deep sea creatures...

It's a region with a lot of water so it's expected, but I do hope we can explore with Dive again as a special method to encounter some of the sea-based Water-types.

Same, I am so excited to be scared by a few nightmare fueling Pokémon...

Livewire May 24th, 2016 8:14 PM

Sharpedo is an all-time fave of mine but I would appreciate an actual shark pokemon, like, with a tail, body, haha. A two-stage Water or Water/Dark modeled off of a Great White or Megalodon would be pretty dope.

MarinoKadame May 24th, 2016 9:07 PM

I would like a Dark/Bug Roach.

That reminds me that we haven't had a cockroach Pokemon yet. There's so many creatures that we all know that still haven't been a Pokemon yet.

Yeah, of the most well known insects and bugs only Cockroaches and flies have yet to get a Pokemon counterpart. The other well known insect and bugs have at least one.

Mantis- Scyther
Ant- Durant
Butterfly- like I even have to list them
Bee- Beedrill, Vespiqueen
Wasp- Beedrill (being both a wasp and a bee)
Moth- Dustox,Mothim, and Volcarona
Spider- Garvantula and Ariados's line
Tick- Joltick
Beetle- Heracross, and Pinsir

And even some that aren't as well known like bagworms (Wormadam, and Pineco's lines).

MarinoKadame May 25th, 2016 3:28 AM

Venomoth is also a Moth.

Drake22ice May 25th, 2016 4:57 PM

LadyBug-ledyba
Cricket-Kriketune
waterbug - surskit
Cicada - Ninjask

WE also don't have a mosquito, stinkbug, flea, fruit fly, termite...etc.

Anyways.. please let there not be a lot of tenticool! let there be jellicent !

Are waterbugs and cicadas well known? I recall not hearing about them until I was in middle school. The others I mentioned as well as the others you mentioned are seen (and sometimes touched) by little kids quite often. I did forget those others though xD. Alright, maybe Cicada, but even now I haven't seen a real life Surskit in person.

Hmm, a termite could get Sap Sipper as an ability. It could be pure bug or Bug/Grass.
Stinkbug Bug/Poison. Mosquito bug/flying or even Bug/Fire if you want to get creative.

Btw, I kind of want a new jellyfish Pokémon. Then we could have like 80 percent of the mons we run into in water be Jellyfish, but diffiferent kinds. Like 20 % Tentacool, 20% Jellicent M, 20% Jellicent F, 20% new base stage jellyfish mon. Hopefully Water/Psychic (strong against Tentacool, but weak to Jellicent's ghost moves)

Iceshadow3317 May 26th, 2016 4:50 AM

Cicadas are well known here even though we only really have a 7 year and 13 year cycle. . As we had them when I was like 3 or 4. But I think Nincada and its line are based of cicadas. But they could make a 2nd set that is more accurate.

I would love to have a Dark/Bug Spider.

Other types of bug pokemon types I would love to see are Bug/Ice, Bug/Fairy, Bug/Psychic, Bug/Dragon and Bug/Ghost that isn't like Shedinja.

I would also love to see another Legendary Bug type. Maybe Fairy/Bug or something.

Scizor94 May 26th, 2016 5:07 AM

Would love a Water/Fighting hammerhead shark or something.

Yabai May 26th, 2016 12:57 PM

I know the chances are super slim, but I'd really like to see another horse-based pokemon. The Ponyta line and Blitzle lines just.. aren't.. I mean they're great but I want more. If we can have a zillion butterfly lines and cat lines we should be allowed more than two horse lines.

A donkey would be cool.

Dedenne1 May 26th, 2016 1:19 PM

I just wanna see another electric rodent <3
But also I really wanna see a cool fairy/dragon type combo cause its only been done once and it was already cool so perhaps a new cute dragon looking poke :3

You didn't played Animal Crossing, haven't you? {XD}

I think I want the bug to be a Mosquito. Or a June bug, but we'll probably hate it.

Hedo May 26th, 2016 5:34 PM

It probably isn't gonna happen, but a third evolution for Skitty would make me a happy panda.

Since it takes place on an island chain, I bet it would be a great chance to add lot's a new water pokemon.

MarinoKadame May 26th, 2016 5:36 PM

I just hope for a Fairy/Bug that looks like those guys.

The Wooly Aphid.

Ah yes I'm shocked we haven't had a donkey for a Pokemon yet, after what has now been six generations. It definitely looks likely to be a Normal-type, but Game Freak would definitely make it interesting.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 26th, 2016 10:07 PM

I imagine a Donkey to be rock or ground as they're sturdy creatures.

I know we have Donphan, but I'll like a new elephant mon. If we don't get one then hopefully in Gen 8 (maybe with India as the region) as the water starter.

classiccartoonsftw May 30th, 2016 12:35 AM

Now that I think of it, I'd like to see a fully evolved Bug/Ground type and Bug/Water type as well.

Delcatty deserve a third evolution. I second this.

Alumens June 2nd, 2016 1:43 AM

I really hope for past generation Pokémon to get third evolutions. I really liked what D/P did, and I would be happy to see it happen again :)
Also, I had a dream that Lapras had an evolution/alternate form, that would be cool. Lapras prehistoric form *_*

L'Belle June 2nd, 2016 1:46 AM

But Lapras is already useful, so give it a pre-evolution

Sabrewulf238 June 2nd, 2016 2:01 AM

For the longest time I've wanted a stick insect Pokemon. I think that could be really cool.

Famon June 2nd, 2016 7:22 AM

I'm hoping for a Torkoal Evolution since Hawai is a volcanic Island and Torkoal seem to be suited for there.

Iceshadow3317 June 2nd, 2016 11:30 AM

So the mascots add for legends to my Psychic type list, however this time, they are not unique.

Psy/Steel and Psy/Ghost. So the question is, how will this trio play out if we have a 3rd big legend. Possibly another Psy/Dark. But not sure if that would match very well.

I am also starting to wonder if Magearna will full a Victini and come before the region starters.
