How old do you look?

Have you ever been told that you look younger or older than you are? Do you find it a good thing or a bad thing? How do you personally thing you look in terms of age?

Skip Class March 5th, 2016 8:06 PM

Last week my dad's workmate assumed I was his "10 year old son" and asked me if I was in intermediate school yet.

...I am a 21 year old girl in my last year of University.

Spoiler:
Seriously though most people think I'm 12-14 (at most) when they meet me :c

Sirfetch’d March 5th, 2016 8:07 PM

I look much younger than the 22 that I am. Most of the time people tell me I look about 16 haha! I take it as a compliment most of the time, though it's a bit annoying being carded all of the time 8(

Lunaris Adamantine March 5th, 2016 8:15 PM

I'm 24 years old, but I tend to look more like I'm 18 or so, especially if I am freshly shaved. I do think that I am starting to look a bit older, though. I doubt I'll ever look my age, since it seems that just runs in my family. My parents are both in their 60's, yet they could be mistaken for someone around 45. Probably even younger if they took better care of their physical health. I intend to look like I'm 30 when I am their age, but I'll have to wait 35 years to find out.

EC March 5th, 2016 8:19 PM

Let's just say I was extremely short throughout all of Elementary School, all of Jr. High, and then the first two years of High School. And then I only grew to 5ft 3in, so I was and still am extremely short, haha.

So yeah, I do look younger than my age thanks to my height. Plus I don't keep any facial hair, so...

Somewhere_ March 5th, 2016 8:31 PM

I am a 6'2 five year old.

Sothis March 5th, 2016 8:43 PM

I'm 26 and look like I'm still in high school :< I get carded all the time and old people on the bus are like "What grade are you in?"

Sun March 5th, 2016 8:44 PM

I'm 24 this summer, but I'm often mistaken as 18 or even 16! :o

NinjaRaichu March 6th, 2016 3:02 AM

Its weird cause in school I looked older like even with a school uniform on the bus driver would try and give me an adult ticket.

now I always get told I look younger than 18 (im 21) and always get asked for ID (although you get asked for ID if you look under 25 here so I guess i'm glad I do lol)

Kikaito plush March 6th, 2016 4:12 AM

I'm 23 and I look about 12

Gabri March 6th, 2016 4:27 AM

I'm 22 but look about 18/19 at the most, and I'm being optimistic.

Syndrome March 6th, 2016 4:35 AM

A lot of people have said that I look 23 - 25 and not 20. I find this odd considering that if I don't grow my facial hair out I look like a high school student.

Fannie March 6th, 2016 4:41 AM

I'm not the only 20-something-going-on-16?! :O

Thepokefansophia March 6th, 2016 4:44 AM

Well I am 15.
I have always been a bit more " developed" then the other girls in my class so people have always assumed I am older then I am.
TBH I sometimes like it and sometimes I dont.
Like the other day when I went on the bus and the bus driver thought I was an adult and made me pay more and then I got angry at him.
( I hate buses and why is there always kids smoking at the back of the buses?)

blue March 6th, 2016 5:21 AM

I'm 22 but I always get told I look 16 or 17 which means I always get IDed when buying alcohol.

Limey-chan March 6th, 2016 5:31 AM

Facially, i'd say I look my age. But i'm short.

So I get ID'd absolutely everywhere :/

maccrash March 6th, 2016 7:50 AM

I've been mistaken for a 20-something when I'm dressed in nice clothes, but usually I look exactly 17, if not a little younger. I'm kind of a small person but I guess perception changes when I'm Decked Out.

Cay March 6th, 2016 8:00 AM

I'm usually told I look around 15, which is not far off from my actual age (14) at all. But, I bet I could pose as 16 or something if I needed.

starseed galaxy auticorn March 6th, 2016 8:19 AM

People have asked me why I'm not in school before. I look younger for my age because of my short stature. I don't see it as a bad thing or anything. I'm kind of honored that people think I'm younger. I act younger because of my special needs so... I guess they think I must look sixteen maybe.

Hikamaru March 6th, 2016 8:25 AM

I'm currently 23 (turning 24 in October) but my physical appearance would more likely suggest that I'm 14 instead. Surprisingly, unlike Blue I don't seem to always get asked for ID.

pkmin3033 March 6th, 2016 8:54 AM

Like a lot of people, I'm in that static eternal youth period where I could be 13 or 30 for all anyone knows. About the only thing that has changed for me physically over the years is the length of my hair and the amount of acne on my face. Most people tend to assume I'm younger than I actually am, though...being asked for ID is irritating.

Margot March 6th, 2016 9:31 AM

I guess I'm gonna break this young streak :<

I feel like I'm one of those people who actually look their age (I'm 24). Sometimes, depending on how I'm dressed or how I've styled my hair or have done my makeup, I could look a bit older. I used to always be mistaken for being younger than I was - On my 21st birthday I had to show my ID at the store because I was trying to buy Rated R movies.

I kind of miss being mistaken for a younger age, but eh, whatever.

Arylett Charnoa March 6th, 2016 9:36 AM

And I'm gonna continue the young streak. :3

Y'know, in real life, it feels like there's more people my age who look older than me. But here, I suppose that's not the case. I as well look like I could be anywhere between 12 and 17. My actual age is 23, and I will be turning 24 quite soon. I was with my fiance once, and somebody mistook me for his little sister. It was ridiculous.

I have mixed feelings about it. Whilst it means that I'll age more gracefully than others, at the same time, it makes it harder for people to take me seriously. But I suppose my lack of experience in life (seriously, I am VERY inexperienced at almost everything and can't do a few things people take for granted) and my timidity really fits. I don't just LOOK that way, I ACT that way too.

Mawa March 6th, 2016 5:12 PM

I turned 23 but I got told a lot that I look like 18 years old, and sometime 16....

I wish I could look my age!! T_T

Livewire March 6th, 2016 5:16 PM

I could pass for a 19-21 year old, I constantly get asked if I'm even allowed to drink, etc. Now its kind of an annoyance but hopefully that means I'll look youthful when I'm actually old, haha.

Palamon March 6th, 2016 5:16 PM

People often tell me I look like I'm a middle schooler. I have to correct people OFTEN that I'm 19. lol.

moon March 6th, 2016 11:24 PM

I keep getting asked for ID when buying alcohol. The limit is 20. I'm not 20 o:

Brendino March 7th, 2016 12:25 AM

I've always figured I look right around my age, though I think the last time I was IDed was about 3 years ago now, when I was still only 21.

One thing that I'll always remember though was when I was talking to a customer last year, and they assumed that I was in my mid-30s. Kind of left me deflated, haha. And then not long after that, one of my new co-workers at the time asked if I was still in high school. So I guess being somewhere in the middle isn't all that bad :P

Adore March 7th, 2016 12:43 AM

When I don't let my facial hair grow out people tend to think I'm 17-19, when I'm actually 22. Not complaining though. Hopefully if I continue to take care of myself I won't age harshly.

El Héroe Oscuro March 7th, 2016 2:22 AM

People tend to say I look much older than I actually am, mainly in the range of 24-26. It's predominantly because of my huge beard, as I'm only 21 (22 on Saturday woot woot.) Works out to my favor to, considering I don't have to get carded whenever I go out drinking unlike some of my other friends who just naturally look young.

Harmonie March 7th, 2016 4:30 AM

Typically people have read me as much younger. Right around when I turned 21, I was with my parents at a local restaurant, and they asked if I needed a kid's menu. The kid's menus there were for children 11 and under. o.o

The general trend has been to read me as around 16-18. I don't really get it. When I look in the mirror, I feel like my age shows.

Judge Mandolore Shepard March 7th, 2016 6:39 AM

I recall back when I was 23, someone thought I looked 20. I am currently 27, but turning 28 next month.

Foxrally March 7th, 2016 7:43 AM

I've been told numerous times I act a lot younger than I actually am. Though I'm practically taller than 90% of every person I meet, they always assume I'm still in school. I think the long eyelashes, rosy cheeks and lack of any facial hair gives that impression. I get patted on the head by people half my height, so that should be a good indicator of how people view my age :why:

AlphaTangoFoxtrot March 7th, 2016 10:59 PM

I turned 20 two months ago but I still look like I'm like 13. And when I don't shave, it just makes it worse because then i look like a 13-year-old who doesn't know how to shave yet and/or is proud of his ridiculously patchy facial hair.

I just yearn for the day that I look like a legal adult. I have a feeling that won't come for another decade though honestly.

sirboulevard March 8th, 2016 12:26 AM

I'm 26, but when I'm clean shaven people think I'm 18. When I was 19 and couldn't grow a beard, I looked 15. My 6'1" stature is the only real indicator of my age. I'm literally keeping a goatee I hate because otherwise I don't get treated like an adult. I mean, I'm definitely not an adult on the inside, but I'd rather not get harassed if I want a damn beer.
