Ideas for events!
Hey folks! Looking to gauge interest for some events. We've got one in the pipeline already that we're working on (Minecraft UHC), but here are some games and we'd love to see what stuff YOU want to play! Give us some ideas and we'd be happy to try them out.
For now, here are a few games to try: Left 4 Dead |
I could see a weekly Mario Maker Competition go well.
A theme could be chosen by a panel of judges (e.g auto-moving, puzzle, haunted house? (I'm not great with themes)). Then, the community makes some levels, which are then voted on by both the judges and community. The winner gets a flashy emblem, and the cycle repeats. |
Spoiler:
Oh cool Left 4 Dead is among the options. Maybe I'll try installing L4D soon and i could participate with the slaughter of zombies with our Zombie killing PC brothers-n-sisters-in arms. Or there's some L4D Versus mode. I also remember.. people who were the "top notchers" of gaming community events would receive something like a userbar to indicate that the player/user/member was a top notcher. |
Team Fortress 2, Don't Starve Together, KTANE, Killing Floor 2

Here are some loose ideas I have in mind.
I know a ton of you still play Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. Might I suggest a Smash Wii U/3DS tourney of some sort? As for Mario Kart... I know Ben plays it randomly on the Battle Server and includes footage on PC's Youtube channel. It would be nice if these MK8 sessions were broadcasted ahead of time so more people could join in perhaps? xD I want to play Splatoon again, but this one could be kind of tricky to drum up interest in. A lot of people own the game, but not as many people seem as interested in it as they used to. Maybe try to start up a Skype group again like there was back in the glory days of Splatoon play on PC? An official PC Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Hunting Expedition!! I know a lot of you have this game, so we just have to try playing together, no? Some kind of Fire Emblem Fates event centered around My Castle and whatever online multiplayer shenanigans can be had with this feature. I'm not really familiar with it yet so... Idk. PC user Arc can probably think of something. xD I'd be interested in some Steam Terraria multiplayer. I have no idea how that stuff works, so someone would have to explain how to do that kind of stuff. I should probably just play Minecraft with the rest of you cool kids... Also for the love of god you guys need to try this PC rhythm game with online multiplayer called osu! It's free so you have literally nothing to lose in at least trying it once. Anime fans will probably like it because anime music is popular with the user-created maps on this thing. Also I'm still waiting for a chansu to play with you machomuu-senpai. :seduce: Probably the simplest thing to start with is a event to gauge interest levels. If we're lucky, maybe we can have semi-regular multiplayer sessions and maybe even PC osu! tournaments?! (That's probably just a pipe dream, aha...) |
I also notice that we have a pretty large League of Legends following of sorts. I was thinking of something like Ranked 5s where PC members would simply unite and play together in order to climb the Ranked 5's ladder. Would that be a little too glorious?

I have an idea for an event... albeit a very unorthodox one.
There's a lot of older games like Super Mario Bros and the older Pokemon games that have a ton of glitches in them, with some benign and some... game breaking. How about we have a competition based around who can break these older games in the most spectacular way possible within a time limit? |
