I'm never posting again

I'm closing in on 5k posts and I think all numbers 5k-6k numbers are ugly. Since it'd probably take me 5 years to get to 7k, maybe I should stop posting.

Have you ever looked at your post count and thought you should stop posting? It could be because it's a number like 1337, 6666 or 69, or maybe you've noticed you have over 50k posts and you think you should be doing something else with your free time.

Neil Peart March 16th, 2016 4:53 AM

I'll be done posting the day I DON'T have an infraction point on my record. :)

Zoroark Cutie March 16th, 2016 5:00 AM

I honestly haven't, not even on previous forums I've been on. The only reason why I would ever stop posting is if the entire forum was dead and there either no more interesting topics, no new topics, low overall forum activity, losing interest in the series, or the community constantly fights with each other. In other words, the community as well as my interest determines how long I'll continue to keep posting (unless I somehow get so busy that I don't have time to continue my activity, but that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.)

Logan March 16th, 2016 6:28 AM

im almost at 7k so I will never stop

donavannj March 16th, 2016 6:37 AM

I don't think I've ever thought that I should stop posting after looking at my post count. Hell, I don't even notice postcounts in postbits anymore for the most part.

I have definitely thought I should stop posting after looking at a clock numerous times in the past, though.

Astinus March 16th, 2016 7:19 AM

I just reached 9000 posts. I think the time I should have stopped posting passed a long time ago.

But I don't think I'll stop posting here until I either lose interest in PC as a whole or until there is no physical way for me to post on here.

pkmin3033 March 16th, 2016 7:26 AM

When I hit over 20k on another forum I thought I should probably stop posting. If anything, my post count here would tell me I need to post MORE. xD

Pinkie-Dawn March 16th, 2016 7:27 AM

It takes me about a year to reach another thousand posts, and I'll never stop until I surpass everyone's post count (except the owner of PC, and maybe Hikamaru).

Arylett Charnoa March 16th, 2016 8:18 AM

That's a silly reason to stop posting, isn't it? If you enjoy yourself, then the amount of posts doesn't matter. It's all about doing something that gives you entertainment/happiness in your free time, not this strange judgement society seems to have about "having no life" and "spending too much time" doing something. This is only a bad thing if it becomes an unhealthy obsession.

If I stop posting, it'll either be because I stop being interested in topics, I feel nobody cares about what I have to say and I might as well not even be here, or I feel people dislike me and want me to go away. I hope that latter one isn't the case especially though.

Mana March 16th, 2016 9:05 AM

Think how peaceful it'll be without Christos 8).

How many posts do I even have.

Edit// Oooh in the 8000s :).

Mawa March 16th, 2016 9:25 AM

I don't really see the point to be on a forum and not postinf anything...

Aquacorde March 16th, 2016 9:26 AM

if i was worried abt postcount i wouldnt have spent literal years in non-counted forums
and at this point... cant stop wont stop?

Sirfetch’d March 16th, 2016 10:14 AM

I wanted to stop at 9999 because it's such a cool number but you know me, I am a postaholic and that did not last long. I will soon be in the 20k club and idk if that is exciting or worrisome :x

Her March 16th, 2016 11:59 AM

I had a feeling you were going to mention me

That aside, 33k in five years (today marks my fifth year on PC) was definitely more impressive than I first thought, but that's because I had been an active face in Pokemon discussions for a long time now, and I wouldn't even consider giving up on my activity anytime soon.

Sylphiel March 18th, 2016 9:07 AM

Nah. At least, not in any sort of serious way.

If I come upon a neat post milestone, I just take a screenshot of it, and then keep on posting anyway.

Spiff March 18th, 2016 9:34 AM

not gonna lie 796 posts on a pokemon forum embarrasses me

Sopheria March 18th, 2016 10:02 AM

Back when I was super active and makng like, 15 posts per day on average, the thought did cross my mind of "goodness, at this rate I'll hit 10,000 by the end of this year!" But now that I'm not quite as active as I was at that point, I'm sorta meh about my post count. It grows at a pretty steady rate these day. I put a decent amount of thought into each one, so hey, I'd say my post count is something to be proud of n_n

Tsutarja March 18th, 2016 12:06 PM

I used to care about my post count and then people started complaining that I was posting too much

Candy March 18th, 2016 8:30 PM

Idk 3k posts is a lot haha.

Wicked3DS March 19th, 2016 6:37 AM

I'd like to post more, I just don't have the time these days :(

Judge Mandolore Shepard March 19th, 2016 6:45 AM

I did consider stoping posting when my amount of posts reached these numbers:
1138
2183
2185
2186
2525
2552

Course I did not stop posting.

Treecko March 19th, 2016 7:47 AM

I don't think a post count number should determine whether or not you should stop posting. I used to care a lot about post count but now I could care less. What stops me from posting is lack of motivation and lack of time.

Brendino March 19th, 2016 11:57 PM

While I haven't cared about post count for the longest time, I remember a year or so ago when I was coming up on 5000 posts, I rushed to hit it. Pretty sure that happened around the same time I was going to be away for a week, so it was nice to sit on that even number while I was gone for a bit.

Other than that though, I couldn't care less about leaving with a certain number of posts.
