Locked vs Unlocked devices
You see it these days: phones are either carrier-locked or carrier-unlocked, and either feature has its pros and cons.
In most cases, carrier-unlocked phones are able to be used on more than one network at your discretion, but also require to have full price paid for them. At the same time, a carrier-locked device tends to be handed out to a consumer by the carrier at no cost to them under contract. So is your phone locked or unlocked? What would rather have: a locked phone or an unlocked phone? If your phone is locked, do you agree that as a consumer, you should be able to go to your carrier and request it to be unlocked at no cost? |
I have a unlocked phone. I rather pay full price for a phone and be able to choose my provider and plan than be stuck to a provider and have to pay what they say, as well as hidden fees and unnecessary fees. I paid 300 dollars for my phone up right and then only pay 60 dollars a month for unlimited calling, text and internet data. It astounds me when I see people with hundred dollar phone bills and they get the exact same thing I do for more.
