Kills in Video Games: Quality vs Quantity

In certain video games, a player can get points based on how they do kills. This brings me to the point of this thread, two ways points of a kill are determined. The two ways are quality (how many points gained based on style of kill) and quantity (how many points gained by number of kills). Players tend to go for one over the other. I tend to favor going for quality of kills over quantity of kills. Which method do other members favor.?

Depends on the points. If they're just for score, it doesn't really matter to me since, more often than not, I can't actually do anything with them. And, in said games, I generally just play however I feel is the most fun with a disregard for what'll give me the highest rank, so it'll usually be quality.

In the case of experience points, that solely depends on how much fun I'll have choosing the higher earning method, because if it does happen to be more fun to go the quality route, I'll go the quality route. Same for Quantity.

So, uh...whatever's most fun is pretty much what I shoot for.

I simply love my bloody organ parties so i would like to have more enemies to rip some cogs out please. And I would like fries with that.

The thing for me is that while execution kills or finisher animations are all good, they can interrupt the action very well especially if some of them take a whole eternity of a sequence. The upcoming Doom game is able to provide us players the best of having some gloriously violent finishing sequences that can be done against enemies in critical states or simply blow their faces off like real mother trucking champions. That game from the builds I've been seeing is able to provide what Doom 3 never did.

While i do credit Bulletstorm for giving a whole load of effort in making players feel so gratified with their kills through the "skillshot system", i just found having to make sure that those skillshots connect to be rather tedious and a chore to do for most of the time.

It's always great to blow someone's legs off.

it also depends on the game like CoD its all about how many kills you get while games like overwatch its more about playing the objective
