Thoughts about Sonic Games

Alright, we all know Sonic. Mascot of Sega. I wrote this thread 'cause I want to play a Sonic game. But I literally can't find the best one. So, in this thread, can you please tell me the worst and best ones?

If you can find the sonic advance games on GBA, or an emulator or something, I'd highly recommend those. 1-2 were my first GBA games and are pretty awesome semi-traditional sonic games. (They play as the typical 2D platformer, but with a bit more mechanics than the older sonic games).

Colors and Generations are the best Sonic games to come out in recent years. I'd highly recommend Generations though, as you can find it fairly easily (it's on steam), and it lets you experience classic and modern gameplay, not to mention it's an anniversary game, so the stages are sort of like a "best of" collection from previous games.

And yeah. . .ignore Sonic 06.

Past the first three 90's games, there are no others.

If you don't care for a game lacking the Sonic brand, then you could try out Freedom Planet. It's an Indie game that started out as a Sonic fangame, but went on becoming its own thing. Apparently, a lot of the older Sonic fans really like it, because it plays pretty similar to the original Sonic titles.

Outside of that, I liked playing Sonic Advance (I think that's what it was called; one of the GBA titles).

Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the best of the 2D games imo. Sonic Adventure is pretty fun on the 3D end but it really hasn't aged well. Sonic Generations is probably the best of the best though. It's a shame they went the direction they did with Lost World (even though I think it's not as bad as people say it is. Just a little lacking).

Yeah, I'll agree that Sonic Generations is besto. Or Chao Garden in Sonic Adventure 2, because that could be its own game and it'd still be great.

As for worst? I'd probably say Boom for quality, Sonic Adventure for design and development.

I strongly and unironically disagree with this statement. Respectfully, of course.

Alright, I'll try. :D

Sonic The Hedgehog 1 to Sonic and Knuckles are probably the best. Sonic Colors and Generations are good too but... I never really felt like they completely lived up to the Genesis games. And pretty much any 3D sonic game is mediocre at best and terrible at worst. And as atrocious and horrendous as Sonic '06 is, for better or worse it is an experience that you will never have anywhere else.
