Water/Dragon got the win. Time to look at ideas for an ability now!
|
What about Drizzle or Competitive/Defiant(depending on if we want it to be a special or physical attacker? I feel like the latter would give Lapras a more offensive presence if we were to go down the route of wanting to make it an offensive mon.

Considering its lack of recovery, Regenerator sounds like a reasonable choice to me also. |
I want something that traces back to it's ice roots (when it wasn't weak to dragon types :p) , so maybe an ability that won't make it weak against Dragon types?
But otherwise Regenerator sounds good from a Mega-Lapras :3 |
Regenerator is a great choice as well. Afaik the only recovery Lapras has is Rest! The good thing about Regenerator is that it can work well with offensive or defensive Pokemon.
|
I was actually thinking maybe Mold Breaker, to help it get around what I think one of its main counters would be: Unaware Clefable. Competitive could be cool though.
|
Ability poll is up!
|
I really like Competitive and find it to be quite useful for M-Lapras
|
You know, I might be wrong, but I think Regenerator is going to win.
|
I would have liked to see Multiscale or Marvel Scale. Rest would reactivate Multiscale and activate Marvel Scale. Could have went the generic CroCune build that way with Rest, Sleep Talk, Calm Mind and Scald. Marvel Scale wouldn't be bad on a Lapras design wise because of how elegant it's portrayed. A shame I only found this after the poll was closed.

Regenerator gets it this time! So now let's look at the stats. Personally I'm thinking something like
HP: 130 Atk: 105 (+20) Def: 110 (+30) Sp. Atk: 105 (+20) Sp. Def: 125 (+30) Spe: 60 With these stats, Mega Lapras is an extremely bulky Pokemon with the capacity to do some reasonable damage as well. Regenerator provides it with recovery whilst its new typing gives it more resistances and neutralities than Water/Ice did. A physical set would probably work best. Something like DDance/Curse, Iron Head, Ice Shard, Waterfall? It also has access to great utility moves like Heal Bell, Toxic and Mist as well as lots of good Special moves also though. |

HP: 130
Atk: 105 (+20) Def: 90 (+10) SpA: 125 (+40) SpD: 105 (+10) Spe: 80 (+20) I put a ton into Special Attack since Lapras has no way to boost it (that, and Dragon isn't the best offensive type) and some into speed so that it can hit a fairly high speed tier after setting up with Dragon Dance. It could Curse up as well, but I feel with this stat spread it's more suited to be a bulky, relatively unpredictable mixed sweeper. |
HP: 130
Atk: 120 (+35) Def: 90 (+10) Sp. Atk: 100 (+15) Sp. Def: 110 (+15) Spe: 85 (+25) I ll go for some speed investment and less defenses because its already very bulky and since it got a type change so it has lots of resistances now. Also, regenerator.. I also want it to be a DD user since it has an array of physical moves.. |
Voting time!

Looks like the first set gets it. Thanks for contributing to this everyone! The article will be up shortly!
