Right, so to be a serious competitive player, there are a few more things you should know (including that the level doesn't matter at all as long as it is > 50).
First is what format you want the team to be for. In-game, your primary options are Battle Spot Singles, Battle Spot Doubles, or VGC16 (which is doubles). The general battle spot queues ban Rayquaza, and it's encouraged to have 2 "restricted" Pokemon in a VGC16 team. Choose wisely. Next, you don't want to use the mons you beat the story with for competitive play. Their stats are all out of whack and their natures are likley a mess. Most people specially catch/breed their competitive pokemon by manipulating the game's RNG to acquire a beneficial nature and good IVs (Individual Values). Then they train them to be stronger in a specific stat by beating up specific Pokemon over and over, gaining EVs (Effort Values, i.e. what you get when you Super Train). If none of that made any sense, you might want to read THIS. It's a bit outdated (from gen 4), but the basics are still the same. It also uses Smogon's tiers, which are very different than the battle spot banlist. In regards to your team: You have 6 Pokemon that can Mega Evolve, 4 of whom need their Mega form to be viable at all. You may want to add some other support. Rough Skin is great on Garchomp, but awful on Sharpedo. I'd see if you can get one with Speed Boost. Also why is Dive anywhere near this team? Manectric should not have Strength or any Physical move for that matter. Get it out. Sceptile ALSO has an HM move. I'm seeing a pattern here. Also, M-Sceptile seems to go the Special route most of the time, but a physical one works too. Camerupt is awful. This is your most logical moveset so far tho, but Fissure has low accuracy Psychic is redundant on Metagross. It's a physical attacker that already has Zen Headbutt to cover the Psychic STAB. Get Ice Punch or Grass Knot there. Dragon Dance Rayquaza is a perfectly viable set (I think), but Dragon Pulse is a Special move and doesn't benefit from the Attack boost. |
