Future News dates
I think we will have a lot more news coming up in June. There's CoroCoro, E3, and the Japan Expo. When do you think news will be revealed, and what do you think they will show?
Timeline: (In somewhat chronological order) Future events: CoroCoro August August 12th September 15th (Manga information, not expecting much) September corocoro |
I'm expecting at least one new Pokemon during E3 since they didn't reveal any brand new ones on the 2nd.
|
We will probably get 6 to 10 pokemon revealed this month. May/June are usually when the first batch are revealed and may give an indication of how many pokemon are in the game. Not including the Starters or Legends, the first batch of reveals were these:
Unova: 6 in Corocoro and then about 6 to 10 more at E3. Kalos: 4 in Corocoro and then about 3 or 4 at E3. So if we hit in the middle I would say a 5 to 7 at corocoro and the 5 to 6 at E3. If it is a higher number, it may follow Unova reveals. If lower, it will probably follow Kalos. We will probably get some new pokemon in Corocoro in about 2 to 7 days. And then some more news during E3. We might then get a small amount fo news at the end of June and then another announcement on July 2nd to 5th. |
Corocoro promised to have an exclusive, so unless if Serebii's translators were off they'll most likely show us some new Pokemon. The week after this upcoming one promises to be exciting with all the potential for news.
|
I think we could be getting CoroCoro leaks towards this coming weekend(10-12) and of course we got the E3 stuff coming too. I was relieved to hear we would be getting SM stuff at E3 because of all of the claims that there would be nothing but Zelda there in Nintendo's slot.
|
As Icy said, we should expect around 6-10 new Pokemon revealed during E3. I could see somewhere like 5 more new Pokemon being revealed in this month's CoroCoro as well.

I hope we get some new Pokemon this month. I was pretty disappointed we didn't get any last week.
|
I may be jumping the gun on the inclusion of mega evolution (or some other buff/forme transformation), but I could see about 4-6 new Alola Pokemon alongside 4-6 Mega Evolutions during E3 and CoroCoro. My bet then, if there are mega evolutions revealed, is around 8-12. I think this is the smart move in order to engage both younger and older gamers while at the same time getting the hype going without revealing too many new pokemon.
|
I'm thinking from now up until the release date, they will be dropping new information/trailers at the beginning of each month so we have something to speculate about per month. As for E3 there is a special conference designated to Pokemon Sun & Moon and if previous set ups like this are anything to go by then hopefully we should see some new Pokemon.

My ideas was a little high. I meant about 8 to 12 total this month in Corocoro and E3. That may still be a little high.
And it is possible that they will spread it out. I really just hope they don't pull another Kalos. I know I've said that a lot, but that was by far the worst thing in 6th Gen Games for me. |
I'm hoping for 2-3 evolutions of past mons. 3 mons of new lines, and 2 megas.
|
Don't forget, now that mega evolutions and primal reversions are a thing, they have potential to show 4-5 pokemon and a mega.
|
I almost forgot about the possibility of new Megas... I hope that we get Megas for either the Johto starters or Sinnoh starters, but preferably the Johto starters for now.
Speaking of, I wonder if this CoroCoro will tell us what the new mechanic is indicated by the new bracelets on the protags. How long after or before XY's reveal that we got the reveal of Mega-Evolution? I can't remember. |

Coro Coro promise a big scoop this month and confirm themselves as the Only Source of the News.
So , Lets see if Coro Coro give us a huge scoop or troll us again. Off Course , I can't imagine what fans will do if Coro Coro troll with "Next Month" again since people being hearing it for 2 months. |
It's not over yet!
Hey guys just wanted to let you know that on June 16th at E3, there will be something called 'Pokemon Special'. It is entirely Pokemon. From Nintendolife Site: Quote:
Serebii: Quote:

Like Icy said, I'm not expecting much at World Hobby Fair aside from a reveal of another new Pokemon. I also guess we'll get an English trailer around then (or even in the next few days since CoroCoro releases today) that reveals Nekkoala and Iwanko's English names.

Wait, so they're having more SM stuff at E3 tomorrow?
|
Quote:
There is also the World Hobby Fair next weekend on the 25th and 26th that will have details of pokemon stuff, including another Playthrough of something from Masuda. This might mainly be what we got yesterday. But either Thursday or next weekend, we could get another 'New Pokemon Discovered' trailer to give us the US names of the dog and koala. As they usually come pretty quickly after Corocoro. This trailer might also have a few more pokemon we haven't seen yet. Originally I was surprised that they were not revealed at Corocoro, but I had forgotten that Corocoro doesn't officially come out until today in Japan. |
Quote:
|
That Pokemon Special for E3 tomorrow is at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK / 4pm CET. Don't really know how it can be watched but I presume it will be the same as yesterday through Twitch/Youtube ect.
|
Quote:
Perfectly Nintendo says that it is for Japanese viewers and calls it a rerun from Pokemon Go and what we got yesterday. However, I don't know why they would just call it a special and have at the exact times, when it is later in Japan, to be for the Japanese viewers. And then give us times for everyone else. not to mention you can rewatch both segments on Youtube. At best, I am thinking it might be a new discovery trailer, where it shows the dog and koala from Corocoro now that they are officially reveled in Japan. And maybe 2 other unknown pokemon. However, this might be saved for next weekend at World Hobby Fair. Serebii has said little about tomorrow and I haven't really looked at Pokebeach or Pokejungle. Blue posted the times above me. Edit: I have sent a message to Game Freak/Masuda on twitter in hopes that the can confirm if there will be something or not. I don't expect to get a reply though. |
Wow possible more E3 information? 2016 has been great in news so far.
|
According to Gamenguide site, it also states that there will be something called 'Pokemon Special' tomorrow, but it is not a Treehouse. They also have no details on it.
According to CNET official twitter, we were supposed to get Pokemon Sun and Moon Demos? And what we saw didn't seem like a demo at all, at least not from what we have seen in the past. When they say demos, they may have meant just game play. But it seems early for demos. And would surprise me if we get demos and there was no mention of it on the 14th. |
think a demo was confirmed, it'll probably be very small. Maybe just the first town/route?
|
Quote:
Sites could have gotten the wrong info or misunderstood what was said and what was actually confirmed. |
I've been on Twitch, Youtube, and the E3 Website and none of them mention a Pokemon Special thing today... Let's hope it really happens
|
For those interested:
|
Seems like it's Japanese only. If it were huge news, it would be in English, right?
|
Quote:
|
For now it's been recap only. It's a bit disappointing to be honest, I was expecting something bigger knowing it was called Pokemon Special..
|
Glad I didn't get my hopes up. But I really don't understand why they did it on a Thursday night for Japan, when it is 11pm there. And not to mention we got times for it. And the sites kinda over hyped it, especially Nintendolife. Not sure why they had Masuda come in either.
Now we wait till next weekend, which I am sure we will get a new gameplay trailer and new pokemon discovered trailer. |
Yes, we'll most likely have news next week-end. We can most likely expect Nekkoala and Iwanko English names, at least I hope so ahah
|
Like Nath said, I'm sure we'll get something new revealed next week. Hopefully Nekkoala and Iwanko's English names can get revealed as well, even if not exactly around the time of the event.
|
Quote:
Also, I think we might get new pokemon and gameplay during the Volcaneon movie previews. It may take a while to confirm it, but I can see them doing something there similar to how they handled Treverent. |

Nothing new today :( Oh well, the 1st post will be updated
|
This month's corocoro didn't promise to have news next month, did it?
|
Quote:
If they did promise info, Serebii didn't mention it. But I don't know why they would stop now. But I would prefer them to say nothing than say something and we get old news. |
I don't think it did, but I wouldn't be suprised if it had something. Added it to the OP.
|
Anyone know when the next news dump is expected to be? I'm assuming the next Coro Coro, but since Iwanko and whatever got coro coro reveals - last time with ORAS and even X&Y, the official Pokemon YT channel uploaded official reveals, and it's been like a week since their reveals, and we've got nothing official on them. So just wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for?
I don't really care, I'm just curious lol |
Quote:
As for a big info dump, I would say best time would be around the 4th of July, as a large chunk of players will be off work and what not in the United States. It wasn't announced that we would get news on June 2nd until about the 18th or so of May. |
I'm debating on whether to hold off on keeping track of reveals after the World Fair. I'd really like to be surprised when I play the games, moreso than I have with the previous 2 Gens. So far they seem to be revealing stuff at a slow pace, but yet it's all enough info for everybody to speculate on for a while; in short I think they're handling it better than XY's info dumps.
|
Hey guys apparently there is some type of Expo in Paris soon. Masuda said he was going. It might already be over, but that might be another chance for some small bits of info. However, I highly doubt we will get anything at the Expo in Paris. So don't count on it. Just figured I'd let yall know.
Edit: Think it is called Japan Expo. I think it is on July 7th-10th (After reading about the date, this might be the place for the next Info Dump, but again, don't get your hopes up yet.) Edit 2: Apparently people already knew about it, but at least I got the dates.... I think.... Lol. Should have looked at the first post again. |
Perhaps it will be the demo made available for those in Paris? That World Hobby Fair in Japan takes place this week, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same stuff for the expo event next month.
|
Already added the Japan Expo and World Hobby Fair to the OP :)

I have a feeling that most, if not all that we'll get from WHF will be the same as what we got at E3. |
They may not reveal at the WHF, but we should be getting the english trailer for the koala and dog. But yeah, I think most will be a recap, but we may still get more info.
Even if it is the same thing, we might get an idea of what other pokemon may be on Route 1. Maybe another part of the island. Would love to see the city more on first island. But there may be pokemon there they aren't yet ready to reveal. |
Quote:
|
Went back into the archives on Serebii for X and Y and we got 4 different gameplay trailers in May and June. (total between the 2 months) It revealed a few extra pokemon and we also got the first gym in June. The pokemon were from that month's Corocoro.
And yeah, I don't think we will get any more on Route 1. I think what was revealed are the new ones on Route 1. It seemed like they had them ready in case they popped up in the gameplay. Also, Honedge was revealed at the Japan Expo in 2013, which was the year of XY. We also got a 5th trailer which revealed the corocoro pokemon and Treverent. |
Quote:
Hopefully we'll get Iwanko and Nekkoala's English names around this weekend as well because it's weird with saying a Pokemon's Japanese name so often because it took so long for the localization to come out. With 6th Gen's new Pokemon we usually learned the English names a day or two after the Japanese but for these two Pokemon it's taking much longer. |
Quote:
|
According to Serebii, it has been confirmed that we will be getting another batch on info on July 1st on the main site at the following time.
22:00 JST 14:00 BST 15:00 CEST 09:00 EDT 06:00 PDT |
More news!
It does seem like they're giving us news by the month now. Hopefully we get the English names of the newly revealed Pokemon and some more new info. |
Next week will be big for me... because I have Australia's federal election to vote in and now more Sun & Moon news to be dropped as well. My body is ready, Game Freak.
Also as Blue said, Iwanko and Nekkoala's English names please! |
Added July 1st to the 1st post.
|
I hope that my birthmonth gets some big news.
|
With July being the 3rd month in a row of them releasing info in this manner, I'm really starting to think that CoroCoro will now be rendered useless for game-related news. The only thing that's come out in CoroCoro and hasn't appeared anywhere else yet are the koala and dog Pokemon.
|
It looks like the playthrough at World Hobby Fair was nothing new. They did the same route looking at Masuda's blog. But it looks like he confirms that, other than the ones we know, Pichu, Grubbin and Caterpie are also on Route 1. However, I don't see his dex entry. So I can't tell how many evos Grubbin has.
Edit: More news is set to come out on Pokénchi on July 3rd. Says we will get new info on new pokemon according to Serebii. This could be a recap or smaller detail of the Info Dump we are getting on July 1st. |
Interesting that the episode is 2 days after the July 1st announcement which makes me think it will just reflect on that news? I can't really see the need for new information to be released initially after previous new information at the beginning of a month.
|

Quote:
Not getting hopes up for Pokenchi because when they last promised something SM-related it was just a recap of the announcement trailer. |
Well that's a shame :(
Hopefully we'll get something at pokenchi. I'll update the timeline as well |

Quote:
If they did small reveals, that would still be something. |
Quote:

CoroCoro seems to be redundant for most of the news now. The only new piece of information we got from them through the whole of the Sun & Moon wait is Nekkoala and Iwanko. It makes sense with the popularity of social media sources increasing which means rather than a magazine that just sells in Japan, they can use platforms such as YouTube to appeal to everyone.
|
So pokenchi will have new info ...too
July 1st and 3rd will be first wave of July info |

Quote:
Looks like they may be confirming Mega Evolution though. I am sure the question will come up during the show. |
I hope that the footage will at least be different from what we'll see this Friday.
|
I don't think they'll confirm mega evolution, as it's very likely it'll make a return anyways. I think they might assume everyone knows it's happening.
|
FYI some info for the non-Japanese folks (that will probably be a repeat of the JPN news but may give the English names for dog and koalamons) may come during US Nationals this weekend, perhaps July 3rd after the finals. If not, there will def be a new trailer/some kind of infodump during Worlds but that's next month in August. Hopefully there won't be too much of a news drought between the early July reveals and Worlds.
|
Well guys, since the news was leaked, I doubt anything is coming tommorow. I'll remove that from the list for now. I will also add the nationals/world
|
Kinda hoping they slow down on new pokemon now. Just giving us the names for the English ones. Maybe a few more pokemon. I kinda want to just see screenshots of the new areas now.
But this gives me hope that they reveled so many in a single trailer. Not sure we have ever had more than 5 in a trailer. |
Quote:
|
Well IMO the fact that they have been revealing so much information means that there will be a lot of pokemon *Crosses fingers*
|
Quote:
|
I am hoping for newer aspects over a ton of new pokemon. I would be thrilled with space locations with some alien pokemons and some more location based effects in battling.
|
Does anyone know what it is written at the end of the trailer? When they show the box art the yellow characters under the release Nov 18, 2016 stuff there is something about July 16 and some other characters which sadly I don't know. It even has an exclamation mark after it. Wait, is it the movie? I know it comes out that day, though I don't see the characters for 'Eiga'...

I'm sure we might see a few alola pokemon during the movie too. |

Though they usually have a Game Play Trailer Preview. The 2013 movie had a trailer and reveled Treverant. And yeah, movie comes out on the 16th of July. |
So june has been crazy, 13 pokemon, Zygarde confirmed, new battle mode, loads of screenshots, I wonder what july will be like :p
Anyways, pretty sure june 16 is confirmed news. |
