Future News dates

I think we will have a lot more news coming up in June. There's CoroCoro, E3, and the Japan Expo. When do you think news will be revealed, and what do you think they will show?

Timeline: (In somewhat chronological order)
Future events:
CoroCoro August
August 12th
September 15th (Manga information, not expecting much)
September corocoro

TheKojo June 5th, 2016 7:22 PM

I'm expecting at least one new Pokemon during E3 since they didn't reveal any brand new ones on the 2nd.

Iceshadow3317 June 5th, 2016 8:31 PM

We will probably get 6 to 10 pokemon revealed this month. May/June are usually when the first batch are revealed and may give an indication of how many pokemon are in the game. Not including the Starters or Legends, the first batch of reveals were these:

Unova: 6 in Corocoro and then about 6 to 10 more at E3.
Kalos: 4 in Corocoro and then about 3 or 4 at E3.

So if we hit in the middle I would say a 5 to 7 at corocoro and the 5 to 6 at E3. If it is a higher number, it may follow Unova reveals. If lower, it will probably follow Kalos.

We will probably get some new pokemon in Corocoro in about 2 to 7 days. And then some more news during E3. We might then get a small amount fo news at the end of June and then another announcement on July 2nd to 5th.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 5th, 2016 8:34 PM

Corocoro promised to have an exclusive, so unless if Serebii's translators were off they'll most likely show us some new Pokemon. The week after this upcoming one promises to be exciting with all the potential for news.

WingsofBliss June 5th, 2016 9:13 PM

I think we could be getting CoroCoro leaks towards this coming weekend(10-12) and of course we got the E3 stuff coming too. I was relieved to hear we would be getting SM stuff at E3 because of all of the claims that there would be nothing but Zelda there in Nintendo's slot.

Hikamaru June 5th, 2016 9:55 PM

As Icy said, we should expect around 6-10 new Pokemon revealed during E3. I could see somewhere like 5 more new Pokemon being revealed in this month's CoroCoro as well.

It's important to remember that Unova came with 150+ new mons. As much as I'll like as many new mons, we'll likely not get near that number, the most I expect is between Sinnoh and Hoenn's numbers. So 4-6 is more likely, and even then I feel like GF will continue having these small reveals, so they'll likely spread out the goods.

Now that I think about it, we may get a minimal number of new Pokemon. 4-6 does seem reasonable like you said.

classiccartoonsftw June 6th, 2016 12:51 AM

I hope we get some new Pokemon this month. I was pretty disappointed we didn't get any last week.

Entermaid June 6th, 2016 1:30 AM

I may be jumping the gun on the inclusion of mega evolution (or some other buff/forme transformation), but I could see about 4-6 new Alola Pokemon alongside 4-6 Mega Evolutions during E3 and CoroCoro. My bet then, if there are mega evolutions revealed, is around 8-12. I think this is the smart move in order to engage both younger and older gamers while at the same time getting the hype going without revealing too many new pokemon.

blue June 6th, 2016 2:12 AM

I'm thinking from now up until the release date, they will be dropping new information/trailers at the beginning of each month so we have something to speculate about per month. As for E3 there is a special conference designated to Pokemon Sun & Moon and if previous set ups like this are anything to go by then hopefully we should see some new Pokemon.

I get your point, I think dropping a trailer and info every month helps fuel up the speculation and ensures we don't have a lack of stuff to talk about.

Iceshadow3317 June 6th, 2016 4:46 AM

My ideas was a little high. I meant about 8 to 12 total this month in Corocoro and E3. That may still be a little high.

And it is possible that they will spread it out. I really just hope they don't pull another Kalos. I know I've said that a lot, but that was by far the worst thing in 6th Gen Games for me.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 6th, 2016 8:33 AM

I'm hoping for 2-3 evolutions of past mons. 3 mons of new lines, and 2 megas.

Desert Stream~ June 6th, 2016 11:23 AM

Don't forget, now that mega evolutions and primal reversions are a thing, they have potential to show 4-5 pokemon and a mega.

WingsofBliss June 6th, 2016 6:19 PM

I almost forgot about the possibility of new Megas... I hope that we get Megas for either the Johto starters or Sinnoh starters, but preferably the Johto starters for now.

Speaking of, I wonder if this CoroCoro will tell us what the new mechanic is indicated by the new bracelets on the protags. How long after or before XY's reveal that we got the reveal of Mega-Evolution? I can't remember.

It was in August. I really haven't been counting Megas because I just don't want to count them as new pokemon.

As Icy said, August 2013 was the reveal of Mega Evolution. Maybe we could get info on this supposed new Mega Evolution-like mechanic around that time as well.

Famon June 6th, 2016 11:16 PM

Coro Coro promise a big scoop this month and confirm themselves as the Only Source of the News.
So , Lets see if Coro Coro give us a huge scoop or troll us again.
Off Course , I can't imagine what fans will do if Coro Coro troll with "Next Month" again since people being hearing it for 2 months.

Iceshadow3317 June 14th, 2016 8:17 PM

It's not over yet!
Hey guys just wanted to let you know that on June 16th at E3, there will be something called 'Pokemon Special'. It is entirely Pokemon.

From Nintendolife Site:
Quote:

E3 2016 Pokémon Special - 16th June at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK / 4pm CET
An exciting development, this will be focused entirely on Pokémon, though beyond that details are slim.
Also, Pokemon and Masuda will be at World Hobby Fair on June 25th.

Serebii:
Quote:

In The Games Department
Pokémon Sun & Moon - World Hobby Fair

It has been confirmed that Pokémon will have a booth at the World Hobby Fair '16 Summer on June 25th & June 26th. At this event, there will be five things.
First, Abarerukun and Rinka from Pokénchi will be there and take the main stage. There will be a quiz rally and an exclusive sneak-peak at the movie, Volcanion & The Ingenious Magearna. Finally, Pokémon Sun & Moon will be there and game producer & series director, Junichi Masuda will be on stage with a playthrough of part of the game. We'll bring more on that as it comes
It may mostly be the same stuff, but I am thinking that we might get at least 1 more 'New Pokemon Discovered' Trailer that will tell us the US names for the dog and koala from Corocoro and possibly 1 to 3 other new pokemon.

Hikamaru June 14th, 2016 8:33 PM

Like Icy said, I'm not expecting much at World Hobby Fair aside from a reveal of another new Pokemon. I also guess we'll get an English trailer around then (or even in the next few days since CoroCoro releases today) that reveals Nekkoala and Iwanko's English names.

You know, I'm starting to think that perhaps the 16th reveal could be Synchro evolution. The female host during the interview part at Today's Treehouse livestream asked the Masuda and the SM Director if they were willing to share stuff about the bracelet the MCs are wearing yet. I think that they're hinting at it might mean that they plan to reveal it soon.

I second you, because if they wanted to be secretive about the bracelet now there's a chance they may reveal what its purpose is at an upcoming event, but I can't expect the mechanic's reveal to be until maybe a month or two later.

Yeah, as I said before, I can see them revealing it in July or August. September is the latest I see them unveiling it. I think a September reveal is quite late... especially if the Bracelet doubles as a Mega Bracelet and we get new Megas, plus they'll need some time to show off the Pokemon that might have the rumored Synchro forms. I do wonder if they'll reveal the starters and Iwanko can use it, it might feel weird if we don't know their final evolution by then...

I think August as well, since July feels a bit too soon to me. But if we have Synchro Evolution revealed before the starters' and Iwanko's final stages, then it's likely that the starters' final evos are being kept secret until after the game release. September could likely be middle evos for the starters revealed.

I'm sticking with my earlier guess of middle stage starters by August.

Tomorrow is Pokemon Go. But on the 16th, Thursday, there will be a segment called Pokemon Special which is all about pokemon. We do not know what it will have. As there are no details, just confirmation from Nintendolife website that something Pokemon related is coming.

There is also the World Hobby Fair next weekend on the 25th and 26th that will have details of pokemon stuff, including another Playthrough of something from Masuda. This might mainly be what we got yesterday. But either Thursday or next weekend, we could get another 'New Pokemon Discovered' trailer to give us the US names of the dog and koala. As they usually come pretty quickly after Corocoro. This trailer might also have a few more pokemon we haven't seen yet.

Originally I was surprised that they were not revealed at Corocoro, but I had forgotten that Corocoro doesn't officially come out until today in Japan.

Do you have any details on that Pokemon Special thing? Will it be live streamed? What time?

blue June 15th, 2016 1:24 PM

That Pokemon Special for E3 tomorrow is at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK / 4pm CET. Don't really know how it can be watched but I presume it will be the same as yesterday through Twitch/Youtube ect.

Nintendo life says that it is a segment of nothing but pokemon. They say details are slim. Also they said that they will be doing a live stream. I assume other sites will be as well.

Perfectly Nintendo says that it is for Japanese viewers and calls it a rerun from Pokemon Go and what we got yesterday. However, I don't know why they would just call it a special and have at the exact times, when it is later in Japan, to be for the Japanese viewers. And then give us times for everyone else. not to mention you can rewatch both segments on Youtube.

At best, I am thinking it might be a new discovery trailer, where it shows the dog and koala from Corocoro now that they are officially reveled in Japan. And maybe 2 other unknown pokemon. However, this might be saved for next weekend at World Hobby Fair.

Serebii has said little about tomorrow and I haven't really looked at Pokebeach or Pokejungle.

Blue posted the times above me.

Edit: I have sent a message to Game Freak/Masuda on twitter in hopes that the can confirm if there will be something or not. I don't expect to get a reply though.

Desert Stream~ June 15th, 2016 3:48 PM

Wow possible more E3 information? 2016 has been great in news so far.

Iceshadow3317 June 15th, 2016 6:17 PM

According to Gamenguide site, it also states that there will be something called 'Pokemon Special' tomorrow, but it is not a Treehouse. They also have no details on it.

According to CNET official twitter, we were supposed to get Pokemon Sun and Moon Demos? And what we saw didn't seem like a demo at all, at least not from what we have seen in the past. When they say demos, they may have meant just game play. But it seems early for demos. And would surprise me if we get demos and there was no mention of it on the 14th.

Desert Stream~ June 15th, 2016 6:50 PM

think a demo was confirmed, it'll probably be very small. Maybe just the first town/route?

I really have no idea. I am wondering if it was a mistake on all the websites parts again. Because I still have literally seen nothing about it and youtube doesn't have the e3 stream thing anymore.

Sites could have gotten the wrong info or misunderstood what was said and what was actually confirmed.

Nath74K June 16th, 2016 5:49 AM

I've been on Twitch, Youtube, and the E3 Website and none of them mention a Pokemon Special thing today... Let's hope it really happens

As one site stated, it might just be a recap, which honestly makes little sense to have it a 11pm Japanese time. However, there might be some small bits of footage. Japanese trailers usually show a little more.

Nath74K June 16th, 2016 6:09 AM

For now it's been recap only. It's a bit disappointing to be honest, I was expecting something bigger knowing it was called Pokemon Special..

Iceshadow3317 June 16th, 2016 7:04 AM

Glad I didn't get my hopes up. But I really don't understand why they did it on a Thursday night for Japan, when it is 11pm there. And not to mention we got times for it. And the sites kinda over hyped it, especially Nintendolife. Not sure why they had Masuda come in either.

Now we wait till next weekend, which I am sure we will get a new gameplay trailer and new pokemon discovered trailer.

Nath74K June 16th, 2016 7:13 AM

Yes, we'll most likely have news next week-end. We can most likely expect Nekkoala and Iwanko English names, at least I hope so ahah

Hikamaru June 16th, 2016 8:11 AM

Like Nath said, I'm sure we'll get something new revealed next week. Hopefully Nekkoala and Iwanko's English names can get revealed as well, even if not exactly around the time of the event.

To be honest, I am thinking we are going to get blindsided before next weekend. Even if it is nothing new before then, I would really like to know the dog and koala pokemon names, as I don't like learning the Japanese names for them. Only ones I can remember in Japanese that aren't the same as English ones are Braviary/Wargle and Tepig/pookabu or something like that.

Also, I think we might get new pokemon and gameplay during the Volcaneon movie previews. It may take a while to confirm it, but I can see them doing something there similar to how they handled Treverent.

We most likely will have to wait until next month when the movie is out to get the preview trailer of the next movie. I remember that last year's movie had Zygarde core and the shadow of Complete Zygarde in the preview on release date.

Don't know. Serebii usually has additional info for corocoro on the day it comes out, but there was nothing else. Which has been like that the last few months. So I guess it was all revealed with leaks.

If they did promise info, Serebii didn't mention it. But I don't know why they would stop now. But I would prefer them to say nothing than say something and we get old news.

Desert Stream~ June 17th, 2016 5:00 PM

Anyone know when the next news dump is expected to be? I'm assuming the next Coro Coro, but since Iwanko and whatever got coro coro reveals - last time with ORAS and even X&Y, the official Pokemon YT channel uploaded official reveals, and it's been like a week since their reveals, and we've got nothing official on them. So just wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for?

I don't really care, I'm just curious lol

The two corocoro pokemon will probably have their official trailer reveals some time this coming week or next weekend at World Hobby Festival where Masuda will be bringing some game play or something similar. Usually the corocoro reveals get a trailer within the same month as their reveal.

As for a big info dump, I would say best time would be around the 4th of July, as a large chunk of players will be off work and what not in the United States. It wasn't announced that we would get news on June 2nd until about the 18th or so of May.

WingsofBliss June 18th, 2016 8:59 PM

I'm debating on whether to hold off on keeping track of reveals after the World Fair. I'd really like to be surprised when I play the games, moreso than I have with the previous 2 Gens. So far they seem to be revealing stuff at a slow pace, but yet it's all enough info for everybody to speculate on for a while; in short I think they're handling it better than XY's info dumps.

Iceshadow3317 June 20th, 2016 9:56 PM

Hey guys apparently there is some type of Expo in Paris soon. Masuda said he was going. It might already be over, but that might be another chance for some small bits of info. However, I highly doubt we will get anything at the Expo in Paris. So don't count on it. Just figured I'd let yall know.

Edit: Think it is called Japan Expo. I think it is on July 7th-10th (After reading about the date, this might be the place for the next Info Dump, but again, don't get your hopes up yet.)

Edit 2: Apparently people already knew about it, but at least I got the dates.... I think.... Lol. Should have looked at the first post again.

blue June 21st, 2016 11:03 AM

Perhaps it will be the demo made available for those in Paris? That World Hobby Fair in Japan takes place this week, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same stuff for the expo event next month.

Desert Stream~ June 21st, 2016 2:10 PM

As Icy said, I don't believe they mentioned that. July does seem like it'll be another big month for news dumps so wouldn't be surprising if they were to dump a load of new info on us, but then there's the chance they could recap on stuff that could be revealed this weekend at the World Hobby Fair.

And/or E3.
I have a feeling that most, if not all that we'll get from WHF will be the same as what we got at E3.

Iceshadow3317 June 21st, 2016 8:25 PM

They may not reveal at the WHF, but we should be getting the english trailer for the koala and dog. But yeah, I think most will be a recap, but we may still get more info.

Even if it is the same thing, we might get an idea of what other pokemon may be on Route 1. Maybe another part of the island. Would love to see the city more on first island. But there may be pokemon there they aren't yet ready to reveal.

Speaking of route 1, I got the impression from the E3 playthrough and the trailer that came out after that the three Pokemon revealed in the trailer will be the only new Pokemon in route 1.

Went back into the archives on Serebii for X and Y and we got 4 different gameplay trailers in May and June. (total between the 2 months) It revealed a few extra pokemon and we also got the first gym in June. The pokemon were from that month's Corocoro.

And yeah, I don't think we will get any more on Route 1. I think what was revealed are the new ones on Route 1. It seemed like they had them ready in case they popped up in the gameplay.

Also, Honedge was revealed at the Japan Expo in 2013, which was the year of XY. We also got a 5th trailer which revealed the corocoro pokemon and Treverent.

Even if it is the same thing, we might get an idea of what other pokemon may be on Route 1. Maybe another part of the island. Would love to see the city more on first island. But there may be pokemon there they aren't yet ready to reveal.

Like ORandAS said, we could just be getting a recap of what was revealed at E3. I do also believe Yungoos, Grubbin and Pikipek will likely be the only new Pokemon catchable on Route 1.

Hopefully we'll get Iwanko and Nekkoala's English names around this weekend as well because it's weird with saying a Pokemon's Japanese name so often because it took so long for the localization to come out. With 6th Gen's new Pokemon we usually learned the English names a day or two after the Japanese but for these two Pokemon it's taking much longer.

I think that they could keep Nekkoala. Iwanko could be Pubble...or Peppy...

According to Serebii, it has been confirmed that we will be getting another batch on info on July 1st on the main site at the following time.
22:00 JST
14:00 BST

09:00 EDT
06:00 PDT

More news!

It does seem like they're giving us news by the month now. Hopefully we get the English names of the newly revealed Pokemon and some more new info.

Hikamaru June 24th, 2016 1:19 AM

Next week will be big for me... because I have Australia's federal election to vote in and now more Sun & Moon news to be dropped as well. My body is ready, Game Freak.

Also as Blue said, Iwanko and Nekkoala's English names please!

Desert Stream~ June 24th, 2016 9:31 AM

Added July 1st to the 1st post.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 24th, 2016 1:17 PM

I hope that my birthmonth gets some big news.

WingsofBliss June 25th, 2016 4:40 AM

With July being the 3rd month in a row of them releasing info in this manner, I'm really starting to think that CoroCoro will now be rendered useless for game-related news. The only thing that's come out in CoroCoro and hasn't appeared anywhere else yet are the koala and dog Pokemon.

Iceshadow3317 June 25th, 2016 4:59 AM

It looks like the playthrough at World Hobby Fair was nothing new. They did the same route looking at Masuda's blog. But it looks like he confirms that, other than the ones we know, Pichu, Grubbin and Caterpie are also on Route 1. However, I don't see his dex entry. So I can't tell how many evos Grubbin has.

Edit: More news is set to come out on Pokénchi on July 3rd. Says we will get new info on new pokemon according to Serebii. This could be a recap or smaller detail of the Info Dump we are getting on July 1st.

blue June 25th, 2016 7:33 AM

Interesting that the episode is 2 days after the July 1st announcement which makes me think it will just reflect on that news? I can't really see the need for new information to be released initially after previous new information at the beginning of a month.

I do admit CoroCoro has now been rendered useless because most issues so far either had no SM-related news or didn't show a lot of it. The only major SM news from CoroCoro so far is two new Pokemon whose English names still haven't been revealed.

I figured the event wasn't worth it since I half-expected disappointment but Pichu being a wild encounter? I don't think we've had Pichu in the wild in any game aside from the Pokemon Mansion's Garden in D/P/Pt. So that means the encounters for Alola Route 1 are Yungoos, Pikipek, Ledyba, Grubbin, Caterpie and Pichu. Lot of Bug-types there for some odd reason but it seems like we'll have variety for an early route similar to first Kalos route with wild Pokemon which had Pidgey, Zigzagoon, Caterpie, Weedle, Fletchling, Scatterbug and Bunnelby.

Not getting hopes up for Pokenchi because when they last promised something SM-related it was just a recap of the announcement trailer.

Desert Stream~ June 25th, 2016 9:02 AM

Well that's a shame :(
Hopefully we'll get something at pokenchi.
I'll update the timeline as well

It's not that CoroCoro hasn't had any news, it's just that it happens to be the same exact info that pops up on the official Pokemon site in the earlier parts of the month. Hence why Serebii and other sites haven't posted most of the CoroCoro leaks on a while.

They really only had new news once :(
If they did small reveals, that would still be something.

It is hard to believe that this is now the era of CoroCoro being irrelevant because of trailers spreading the news before the magazine even leaks, and these trailers are being more successful to the point that most people find leaking the scans pointless.

blue June 26th, 2016 6:06 AM

CoroCoro seems to be redundant for most of the news now. The only new piece of information we got from them through the whole of the Sun & Moon wait is Nekkoala and Iwanko. It makes sense with the popularity of social media sources increasing which means rather than a magazine that just sells in Japan, they can use platforms such as YouTube to appeal to everyone.

Drake22ice June 26th, 2016 5:03 PM

So pokenchi will have new info ...too

July 1st and 3rd will be first wave of July info

Well at least it will be a notable step-up compared to the last time Pokenchi showed something SM-related, and it was a recap of the announcement trailer back then when we had 2 month news drought. Gonna be a busy weekend for me with the Australian federal election and two doses of SM news.

It may still be news that we get on July 1st. And remember, it was the Internet's fault for people getting extremely upset with the show. A few people got the wrong info and from there it spiraled.

Looks like they may be confirming Mega Evolution though. I am sure the question will come up during the show.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 26th, 2016 9:10 PM

I hope that the footage will at least be different from what we'll see this Friday.

Desert Stream~ June 27th, 2016 9:06 PM

I don't think they'll confirm mega evolution, as it's very likely it'll make a return anyways. I think they might assume everyone knows it's happening.

Karous June 27th, 2016 10:14 PM

FYI some info for the non-Japanese folks (that will probably be a repeat of the JPN news but may give the English names for dog and koalamons) may come during US Nationals this weekend, perhaps July 3rd after the finals. If not, there will def be a new trailer/some kind of infodump during Worlds but that's next month in August. Hopefully there won't be too much of a news drought between the early July reveals and Worlds.

Desert Stream~ June 30th, 2016 11:15 AM

Well guys, since the news was leaked, I doubt anything is coming tommorow. I'll remove that from the list for now. I will also add the nationals/world

Iceshadow3317 June 30th, 2016 12:05 PM

Kinda hoping they slow down on new pokemon now. Just giving us the names for the English ones. Maybe a few more pokemon. I kinda want to just see screenshots of the new areas now.

But this gives me hope that they reveled so many in a single trailer. Not sure we have ever had more than 5 in a trailer.

I think this is definitely the most new Pokemon revealed in a single trailer, however I am still annoyed at how long it's taking for the Nekkoala and Iwanko English names. I don't want to wait until game release to find them out.

Desert Stream~ June 30th, 2016 12:46 PM

Well IMO the fact that they have been revealing so much information means that there will be a lot of pokemon *Crosses fingers*

There was one instance in XY in which they revealed a lot Pokemon at once. I think it was the July or June issue of corocoro irc. I do hope that we'll be getting more than XY. I at least want more than what Sinnoh gave us. At the very least something around the average of the mons that Gen V and Gen VI gave us, so it won't be too many, or too few.

Drake22ice June 30th, 2016 3:33 PM

I am hoping for newer aspects over a ton of new pokemon. I would be thrilled with space locations with some alien pokemons and some more location based effects in battling.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 30th, 2016 4:18 PM

Does anyone know what it is written at the end of the trailer? When they show the box art the yellow characters under the release Nov 18, 2016 stuff there is something about July 16 and some other characters which sadly I don't know. It even has an exclamation mark after it. Wait, is it the movie? I know it comes out that day, though I don't see the characters for 'Eiga'...

Movies around this time in a generation tend to introduce the next mythical or event legendary, so we might see that.

I was a bit suprised Magearna was revealed so early if it is a gen 7 pokemon. We knew about it weeks before S/M :p
I'm sure we might see a few alola pokemon during the movie too.

We haven't really seen any new pokemon since Manaphy movie that has reveled next Gen Pokemon, unless they are the main focus or in a preview, so wouldn't get my hopes up on that.

Though they usually have a Game Play Trailer Preview. The 2013 movie had a trailer and reveled Treverant.

And yeah, movie comes out on the 16th of July.

Desert Stream~ July 1st, 2016 10:08 AM

So june has been crazy, 13 pokemon, Zygarde confirmed, new battle mode, loads of screenshots, I wonder what july will be like :p

Anyways, pretty sure june 16 is confirmed news.

Correction: July 16 for the next piece of news to be announced. Gonna be a big month for Sun & Moon news if that new trailer was a taste of what's to come.

I wonder what time it'll be out in my timezone. It could end up being a pleasant birthday present, or a late one xD. I knew that the 16 must have been hinting at some news of some sort. That day does happen to be the day of the movie, so the info could tie in with the trailer for next year's movie.

The next trailer having something to do with the Volcanion and the Ingenious Magearna movie could be possible. I'm sure I remember the Japanese premiere of the movie happens somewhere around your birthday along with the fact the next CoroCoro will be released around then as well.
