Hearing range.
What's your hearing range? Statistically, people aged over 25 start losing some hearing and can't hear high pitched tones as well as younger people.
There's a test here: http://www.noiseaddicts.com/2009/03/can-you-hear-this-hearing-test/ Apparently I can still hear 18 kHz faintly, but I hear nothing at 19. Biology, why are you catching up with me ;; |
19 kHz was my limit, even with my volume turned up I couldn't hear a thing at 20.
Also, protip: don't do what I did and listen to them with the volume at max from the off, still wiping the blood from my ears atm. |
At absolute max volume I can faintly hear something at 21kHz, but it might just be my headphones reacting to receiving sound at all lmao.
I could hear nothing with any of them maybe cause I'm deaf in one ear.
Nah I can't hear shit past 19 kHz with headphones on :(
Weird, I've always been told my hearing was quite decent but I stop hearing it at 17.
On a somewhat slightly higher volume than usual, 17 is the last one I can hear. 18 only if my volume is 100.
Woops, I suppose my music is too loud. |
Stopped hearing at 20, started having trouble hearing at 18. Aww yee.
Weirdly I cant really hear 19 but I can hear 20 & 21.
I am someone who hears everything. I can pick up someone dropping my name in a conversation from 30 feet away. Maybe I am just very aware? As for this test, I can faintly hear 19. I thought that I was picking up on 20 but after replaying it a few times, I simply cannot hear it. 17 and below are deafening to me :s
I can hear at 18Hz, but have to turn up my speakers at 19Hz to slightly grasp it. That's decent because I suspected hearing loss when my ears were ringing a few weeks back.
Could faintly hear 17kHz on normal speaker level and really had to throttle them in order to hear 18kHz, couldn't hear 19kHz at all and then heard 20 & 21kHz on a normal level. 22kHz isn't audible to me though. Very odd.
cannot hear 21, otherwize, i can hear em all (aside from 21 and up)
I can hear the up to 18kHz well, and 19kHz very very faintly. From 20 on, I don't hear shit.

Gonna move this on over to our latest renovated forum, The Lab, as it might fit a bit better there!

That being said, I shouldn't be shocked, I've always had terrible hearing. I was born so early that my ears weren't fully developed and had to be tested every year until I was 3-4 years-old to make sure I wasn't deaf. I also had tubes as a kid and was told to get a hearing aid at age 18 like 7 years ago..... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |
despite also being a musician for eight years, i could hear all except 22kHz. i accidentally jumped from 8 to 17 but i could hear those all at a regular level 3 on my earphones. after that i decided to turn them all the way up

At normal speaker level, I could hear no more than 18 kHz
At max volume, I could hear no more than 19 kHz, although I think I can hear a faint trace from 20 kHz, but higher than that there's nothin'. |
I can hear very well between 17 kHz to 18 kHz with 19 Khz very faintly.I can't hear a thing at 20 <_<
I thought I'd be able to hear a lot more but I can only hear up to 17kHz but then nothing after that. ;c
I've always known that I have had sensitive hearing, so it doesn't surprise me one bit that I can hear up to 20kHz.
You guys turning the volume up will find yours lowered soon enough ;). Even if you can't hear the sound you're damaging your ears by exposing them to it. :(
Mine peaks at 17.5kHz, tested it many times with my classes. I'm surprised (and perhaps a little suspicious) of people claiming to hear 20kHz and over - I work with 12-13 year olds and I've not had anyone who could honestly hear 20kHz. Get someone to turn the sound on and off and see if you can detect the change then ;3. |
