Desert Stream~ June 11th, 2016 7:48 AM

What will your team be?

So there probably aren't enough pokemon to have a full team yet, But Which pokemon will you definitely have on your team? Will you use your starter, and/or legendaries?

I really want Nekoala on my team, as it 's ability is really cool. I will also use the legendaries, and of course #teampopplio

Sabrewulf238 June 11th, 2016 8:18 AM

Too early. I've only really got Rowlet as a possibility right now.

Maybe Nekkoala but it'll depend on it's evolution. My gut is telling me it won't be on my team though.

Hikamaru June 11th, 2016 8:36 AM

I will definitely have Popplio as my starter and resident Water-type. Also, Nekkoala will be a possibility for my team especially since I am Australian and a koala would be an ideal Pokemon to use.

It's still too early to have my final team, because I'd rather see the whole Alola Dex first and hopefully there will be enough new Pokemon to win me over that I'd be convinced to use a team of only new Pokemon.

L'Belle June 11th, 2016 8:41 AM

I will use rowlet, and I don't think I will use Nekkoala or the other dude.

thedestinedblade June 11th, 2016 8:48 AM

lol, as of right it's something like this:

Starter: (undecided)
Regional bird
???
???
???
Hopefully not an HM Slave

smocks June 11th, 2016 9:03 AM

Litten (and Iwanko, depends on its evolution) for sure :)

Benermerut June 11th, 2016 9:57 AM

So far, just Rowlet.
I would love to raise an Iwanko, but, alas, he is not Grass.

Iceshadow3317 June 11th, 2016 10:26 AM

I am still not 100% sure yet. I would like to see more pokemon first before I choose. But I know I will not be using old pokemon and I will be doing a Rotation Team, which was EXTREMELY fun in Pokemon BW with all the new pokemon, even using all 3 starters on my first play through.

I really want to use Rowlet, but I want to see the regional bird first. If it looks nice and has a uncommon typing similar to Talonflame, I may use it instead of Rowlet.

classiccartoonsftw June 11th, 2016 10:43 AM

So far, Litten is the only one confirmed for my SM team. As for other team members, I'm considering Nekkoala, Rotom, and Slowbro. I may use Iwanko if it gets a cool looking and awesome evolution, or if it can learn a lot of HM's.

youngster_joey June 11th, 2016 11:52 AM

Litten and Iwanko, definitely. Other than that, I'm not sure.

Rivvon June 11th, 2016 12:36 PM

Pokémon I've never used before; preferably all new Pokémon. Definitely Litten; maybe dog based on what it evolves into and what, if any, other new Rock-types there are.

I knew a lot of Let's Players on YouTube who played XY using mostly only new Pokemon, and the small roster meant you mostly saw the same teams. If 7th Gen has more new Pokemon than 6th Gen I could actually see more diversity in those "new Pokemon only" rosters for this game, especially with the connecting themes the Pokemon designs have had so far.

XY's lack of new Pokémon definitely made making a team tough. And a lot of them were rarer than the overwhelming plethora of available older Pokémon, making finding what few news ones there were harder than it should have been. I genuinely hope SM doesn't share this trait with XY.

novafire91 June 11th, 2016 1:54 PM

Personally, I plan to use my old team from Poke'mon Y, which is:
1. * Rayquaza, Focus Sash.
2. Darkrai, Quick Claw.
3. * (F) Kangaskhan, Kangaskhanite.
4. * Arceus, Pixie Plate.
5. Zygarde, Earth Plate.
6. Volcanion, Leftovers.
I may use different items, depending on what new ones they create.
My name will be novafire.

freakyladymoonbeam June 11th, 2016 2:58 PM

I'm probably going to go with Popplio because dang that thing is cuuuuuuuute. I might bring my Lopunny in from ORAS because <333333333333 Lopunny. Uh... LOL I'm probably just going to catch whatever Pokemon I see that I like, as long as they'll last me a while. I mean, I'll try to fill up the Pokedex ASAP, but... yeah. :P

MrElephant June 11th, 2016 4:50 PM

Going to transfer all of my pokemon from the red and blue versions released from the 3ds store, so Blastoise, Venusaur, Hitmonlee, Charizard, Arcanine, and Ponyta.

Hikamaru June 11th, 2016 5:07 PM

That was what I didn't enjoy with XY, the fact that the new Pokemon were mostly harder to find. I hope Game Freak learned from their mistake and don't do this again in Sun & Moon, especially if we get a larger new Pokemon roster than XY had.

Desert Stream~ June 11th, 2016 7:51 PM

If we can use Rotom dex in battle, that's an instant spot on my team.

khaozz June 11th, 2016 8:10 PM

So far, my planned team is Litten, a Water type, a Grass type, a Pokemon that can use Fly, and two other Pokemon.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 11th, 2016 9:32 PM

My team will likely be Rowlet, Iwanko, Nyakkoala, and three others (one of which will be a water type).

*cough, my name, cough*

I'll take litten if its evo isnt gonna be that screwed up. as im gonna take moon ill need something to light up the night ;-) (is it a possibility sun plays mostly at day and moon at night time?)

The koala is also so gonna be mine, what not to love about cocaine...eh koalas!

Desert Stream~ June 12th, 2016 3:04 PM

So if I ever get pokemon bank, I'll be transferring over a mudkip as well. That leaves 1 or 2 spots on my team. The last one will maybe be the third legendary if there is one.

same here, i love mudkip and its evolution tree. first time i chose an other starter than fire - diddnt regret it .:|

PageEmp June 13th, 2016 4:00 AM

I don't want to decide who to bring on to my team yet, as we haven't really gotten that much information. I think I will only know once I see all the mons.

sinancr June 13th, 2016 4:54 AM

I'm quite sure that my team is going to be built like this:

- #TeamPopplio
- Nekkoala
- Regional bird (still hoping for the Peacock)
- New Pokémon #1
- New Pokémon #2
- Sandshrew (-> Sandslash) !!

I was thinking about Sandslash due to the fact that I'll have Popplio as my main Pokémon, whose typing is Water. His weaknesses are Grass and Electric.

The regional bird would make up for the Grass type enemies, whereas Sandslash will screw up all Electric type enemies. Furthermore, it just looks sick & I love it.

I'm wondering about the regional Bug - if it's cool, I'll certainly use it as well.

Rengoku June 13th, 2016 5:24 AM

No legendary Pokemon, for sure.
And Popplio for now.

Hikamaru June 13th, 2016 6:18 AM

Since I'll likely wait until Christmas to get the games, I'll at least learn the entire roster by then and have a team planned. That was the approach I had when it came to B2/W2 and X/Y, and won't change for the forseeable future.

I usually think it's best to see the regional Dex and entire new Pokemon roster first (which doesn't get fully revealed until the games are released) before planning the in-game team.

Judge Mandolore Shepard June 13th, 2016 6:24 AM

So far the only member I know for sure I will have on my team in Pokemon Moon will be Popplio. I will wait until all of the new Pokemon for this gen are revealed before I decide my whole team. Course I did complete the theme for the nicknames I will be doing. The theme for the nicknames of my team members will be Planets from the Metroid series.

Desert Stream~ June 13th, 2016 6:43 PM

I hadn't even considered the fossil pokemon! I want a rock type on my team, so that would be an option.

Sydian June 13th, 2016 6:48 PM

There aren't nearly enough Pokemon revealed for me to be deciding anything for my team yet. lol

TheCrazyManiac June 13th, 2016 9:21 PM

Litten

Desert Stream~ June 14th, 2016 2:38 PM

Ahh, now there's the bird pokemon! I might be getting rid of Nekoala

Bobbylicious June 16th, 2016 2:18 AM

I was going to say from the Gen 7 pokemon so far I'd definitely use Rowlet and Pikipek, but seeing that in writing, it's a little redundant to have two flying types. So probably just Rowlet at this point - though I am very tempted to pick Popplio since it's by far my favorite starter, but it would feel weird not picking the grass type... So who knows.

For more pokemon I want to use, I'd happily use older gen Pokemon I've never used before. Seeing Ledyba in the footage makes me want to use Ledian on my team, but it's so weak there's no point.

Solar Snivy June 16th, 2016 3:27 AM

I really like both Rowlet and Pikipek, but since they're both flying... I guess it depends on Pikipek's evo's typing on whether I pick him or not. If he gets a new typing, then he's on the team, and if not, I might still pick him anyway.

From the pokemon we've currently seen, I think my team will be something like this:

Rowlet
Pikipek?
Iwanko
???
???
???

Of course, if Rowlet's evo is rubbish, I might pick Popplio for my starter, and then Pikipek would be guaranteed.

xRiveria June 16th, 2016 4:51 AM

I always use Pokemon native to the region in my first playthrough of newly released games. I enjoy exploring and theorycrafting their potential capabilities in whichever content I find myself attempting in the unforeseeable future. At the moment, I've decided on Popplio, Pikipek & Iwanko. I definitely hope to see more sneak peaks of upcoming Pokemon soon. ~

That is, if I resist sending over an Eevee Egg which I've failed to for several generations already.

If that theory about Rowlet ending up Grass/Ground turns out to be true then it could work.

Unless your issue is with having two bird pokemon on your team.

Twilight-kun June 16th, 2016 5:58 AM

Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Flying, Normal is usually my team roster

Depends on what the game gives us

The theory about Rowlet becoming Grass/Ground makes no sense. Why would the Grass/Flying type completely reverse its sub-typing and become Grass/Ground?

smocks June 16th, 2016 7:19 AM

Litten, Iwanko, and Grubbin are currently my favorites ^^
(grubbin is freaking adorable, i need it asap !!)

danica June 16th, 2016 6:08 PM

definitely gonna get myself a popplio (i might even soft-reset for a shiny, hopefully it's pink!)
...and that's it. i don't really care for any of the new pokemon. they're cute and unique and all but none of them really catch my eye. iwanko is especially adorable, but i don't really want a rock type on my team, they never really work for me :\

Kameken June 16th, 2016 6:30 PM

Fire cat
Rock doggo
Woodpecker
Maybe bitey grub

Other than that, no idea.

Probably the psuedo legendary if it's a dragon.

FireSnow June 16th, 2016 9:52 PM

As of right now I will for sure be using Yungoos and Iwanko. I find them to be very interesting based on their Pokedex entry and have very appealing designs to me. This is the first time I have truly planned out Pokemon I will be using. Even the one time I tried to plan out my lineup, the only one 'mon I ended up using that I planned was Froakie. This time will be different though, those two Pokemon just speak to me XD

As for the starters, I will just have to do eenie meenie miney mo. They all seem so great and I hoestly think I'm going to love all three of them.

Lastly, for the legendaries, though I'm not saying this will happen, Solgaleo has the strongest possibility of me using a legendary in battle (outside of required usage) and I will be considering it heavily as an option for my team late-game/post-game

AliceBlaze June 17th, 2016 3:37 AM

I normally plan my team in advance once I know which Pokemon are obtainable. But since I'm going to try and avoid all post-release information including new Pokemon, I'll decide on my team as I play through it. Although, I will definitely be using Iwanko because I like its design and I don't think I've ever used a rock type in any of my teams before.

classiccartoonsftw June 18th, 2016 1:59 AM

With the recent information revealed, more details about my possible team:

Pretty much confirmed: Litten, Pikipek
Very likely: Nekkoala, Yungoos, Pikachu
Likely: Slowbro
Maybe: Grubbin, Iwanko, Rotom

Competitors:
-Nekkoala and Yungoos
-Pikachu and Rotom

Pokken Lucario June 20th, 2016 8:15 AM

for now -
Moon Version:
Litten
The new bird reveal in E3
a hm slave pokemon
water type for surf
the 5&6 slot i need to see more new pokemons to pick

Sun version -
Popplio or Rowlet i need to see the final form to pick
HM slave
Fly pokemon problay not the bird since i gonna use him in moon
and pokemons thet i dont use in moon :P

Midi June 20th, 2016 8:48 AM

My general rule of thumb since HG/SS is build up a team that covers each others weaknesses and has as many attack types as possible instead of letting my starter brute force everything like I did for every game up to Platinum. I dunno what kind of Pokémon we'll be seeing for the most part (mainly because I don't follow the news on it that often,) but you'll definitely see that kind of build from my team.

Bellsprout June 20th, 2016 8:42 PM

uhh im not even sure on which starter because i feel pretty equal about them right now. fire cat might have a slight lead. as for everything else no idea

clbgolden June 21st, 2016 9:34 AM

So far it'll more than likely be:

Water type
Grass or Electric type
Litten
Fighting type
(Maybe) Grubbin
Psychic or Fairy type

Entermaid June 21st, 2016 9:34 AM

Team so far. Popplio for sure, and Iwanko/Pikipek/Nekkoara are possibilities depending upon other revealed pokemon.

Slot 1: http://orig07.deviantart.net/940d/f/2016/142/a/d/popplio_sprite_animation_by_snivy101-da3d4lj.gif
Slot 2: ??? Grass Pokemon
Slot 3: ??? Fire Pokemon
Slot 4: ??? (Iwanko?)
Slot 5: ??? (Pikipek?)
Slot 6: ??? (Nekkoara?)

Desert Stream~ June 21st, 2016 10:22 AM

I also wanna see Iwanko's english name (iirc it hasn't been showed yet) before I use it. probably won't use Yungoose.

xWolfiex June 21st, 2016 1:04 PM

7th Gen Team:

Rowlet
Grubbin
Iwanko

ShyRayq June 21st, 2016 5:02 PM

There's not a lot of choice is there, haha. I'd probably have Popplio and Iwanko on my team. They seem like an interesting combination. Other than that, I'd have to wait to see new pokemon.

Crafteeh June 24th, 2016 10:40 AM

Team Popplio ;)

Lunar June 24th, 2016 12:36 PM

So far my team will be:
Litten
Zorua
Pikipek

I usually like to go with the early flying Pokemon available in each region and I've got a shiny Zorua in my copy of X that's waiting to be transferred to Alola :)
#TeamLitten

As for the rest, I'll have to see some of the new Pokemon and decide the rest of my team then.

MadHatter62 June 24th, 2016 1:38 PM

Definitely starting out with Rowlett, though I will keep an open mind about all the starters (equal opportunity and stuff).

Lost_Masterball June 24th, 2016 1:56 PM

So far my team will be Litten, Pikkipik, and Grubbin

Desert Stream~ June 30th, 2016 11:18 AM

7 new pokemon, so I think I gotta adjust my team a bit.

Sun team:
Rowlet
That new dragon thing (still getting used to the names)
Solgaleo
Grubbin
Tapu koko
Island guardian # 2

Moon team:
Popplio
Togedemaru
cutiefly
Lunala
Island guardian #3
Guardian # 4

Sabrewulf238 June 30th, 2016 1:17 PM

At the moment I'm thinking Rowlet and Drampa. (Maybe Bruxish too but I'm not sure yet)

Grubbin and it's evolutions have kind of let me down. They're cool and all but I don't think I'd really enjoy using them on my team.

Mawa June 30th, 2016 6:16 PM

Hum... I can change my mind so many times ...

Rowlet
Grubbin (and evolutions)
Togedemaru
Maybe Drampa and/or Iwanko and/r Pikipek

Sirfetch’d June 30th, 2016 6:24 PM

I will be playing both versions so I will have the opportunity to use 12 new Pokemon! So far the only definite team members are Litten and Bruxish.

Rivvon June 30th, 2016 6:32 PM

I will have a team of 6 bees probably.

Scratch that, Litten and 5 bees.

TwilightBlade June 30th, 2016 6:34 PM

Adding these to my teams thus far:

Moon: Litten, Vikavolt, Pikipek (main file will have my favorite starter of the three, the rest of the team is to be determined)
Sun: Rowlet, Iwanko (using second fav starter on other file, and the puppy will be on the team opposite of the kitten)

Birthday Thunder June 30th, 2016 6:56 PM

I will have 6 Drampas in my team. Don't ask how or why, but it will happen.

Desert Stream~ June 30th, 2016 7:09 PM

Cutiefly is confirmed, as well as popplio and mudkip at this point for me.

esperance June 30th, 2016 7:20 PM

Not loving a lot of the new designs... so right now the only Pokemon that I'm sure I'll have on the team is Litten

Eden June 30th, 2016 7:24 PM

Popplio for sure. I never plan my teams out in advance. I just end up using what's the most versatile and I often don't end up getting six Pokemon until near the end of the main game.

smocks June 30th, 2016 10:08 PM

Sun: Litten, Iwanko, Cutiefly(?Popplio/Rowlet) (oops rock weakness)
Moon: Popplio, Grubbin, Drampa

I'll get all three starters by trading myself lmao (so happy to have two 3ds's omg)
But rn those are the Pokémon I currently want / interested in, I don't usually plan on teams so we'll see :)

Sabrewulf238 July 1st, 2016 2:53 AM

I hope Drampa doesn't end up being like Noivern and show up really late in the game. I really want to use him early if possible. Hopefully he'll have a prevo you can catch early.

classiccartoonsftw July 1st, 2016 7:24 AM

With the new information revealed, I'd better update my possible team:

Pretty much confirmed: Litten, Pikipek
Very likely: Grubbin line, Komala, Pikachu
Likely: Yungoos, Slowbro
Maybe: Drampa, Togedemaru, Tapu Koko, Rotom
Unlikely: Bruxish, Cutiefly, Rockruff

Competitors:
-Komala and Yungoos
-Pikachu, Rotom, Grubbin, Togedemaru, and Tapu Koko

Xander Olivieri July 1st, 2016 7:37 AM

So far?

Starting with Popplio and thinking of naming him Grayson.
Catching Komala and naming him Somnus.
Pikipek is goin to be my flier unless a better bird/Pidgey is available. Pikipek will be Woody if male and Crescent if Female.
And my last thus far Drampa and going to be very unoriginal and name him Falkor.

Hoping to see more new ones and be able to run a whole new Pokemon team like I tried to do in XY. But these four are the ones I absolutely want. I may catch Rockruff and Bruxish just to do so, but they don't impress me enough for permanent team placement yet.

Hikamaru July 1st, 2016 12:33 PM

I seem to be going the same route as Xander here.

Popplio
Pikipek
Komala
Togedemaru (it'll likely have bad stats so yeah)

Not decided on the rest, since I want more new Pokemon shown first but I hopefully intend to use a team of only the new Pokemon. This is subject to change though.

Firox July 2nd, 2016 4:59 PM

My first team will be a fox team, I plan on bringing over from breeding in OR/AS, may add one from Alola if a new fox Pokemon is introduced. On Pokemon Moon

On Pokemon Sun, will use my starter, Litten, along the way will plan on adding Solgaleo. I plan on using mainly newer Pokemon to give them a chance, a fairy-type, so far haven't decided on the other 3.

kingdenas July 3rd, 2016 12:32 PM

We still don't know all the new Pokémon, so it's hard to decide a team right now.
But I know I will have Popplio and Vikavolt (Grubbin) on my team for sure! ^^

Togedemaru does have a nice typing with lots of resistances...though the 4X ground weakness is a bit of a downside. Iron barbs is a pretty fun ability;I am glad a cute pokemon (not ferrothorn/ferroseed) will be able to use the ability as well; generally it's pretty cool a pika clone might deviate from the high speed and special attack for perhaps, low speed, higher defense, higher attack. It could be really nice if GF would include an evolution because this design and concept is one of the best -- it might make it on my team if it does.

I remember using a Pikaclone in one of my previous playthroughs, and that was a Pachirisu in DPPt so maybe Togedemaru could be something interesting if Pachirisu defied me so much. The load of resistances can also have a niche since we never had a Pikaclone with many resistances before so Togedemaru looks like it could change up that tradition-long Pikaclone trend for a more interesting turn.

The only downside is that I'm expecting it to be like the others and not have an evolution line.

Flower July 11th, 2016 5:09 AM

So far, I'm definitely going to have Rowlet and Salandit on my team, cuuties. <3 Potential for Cutiefly and/or Togedemaru, but I'm not too sure yet.. going to have to see. ;w; Want to have an exclusively gen 7 team too, nothing gen 6-.

Maserati777 July 11th, 2016 9:28 AM

Right now Litten one game and Rowlet in the other.
I like to use older Pokemon I never used before so will probably have a mix of generations though obviously it will depend on what you can get at what time.

None of the new Pokemon really sparked any interest like Klefki and Skiddo did in gen 6. At this point most of the Pokemon revealed appear to be hm slaves or the bad dragon in the generation. Hoping for a good dragon type like Dragonite, Haxorus and Tyranitar, 3 evos, and towards the end of the Pokedex. Drampa seems like a Druddigon type.

jombii July 13th, 2016 7:31 AM

So far, it is

Litten
Komala
Vikivolt
Mimikkyu

That's it. However, if the Litten turns out to be another Fire/Fighting type, I'm switching to Rowlet and if Rockruff's evolution is badass, I might ditch Komala.

Nah July 15th, 2016 4:21 AM

The only certainties for me right now are Rockruff and Salandit. We'll have to wait and see what Pokemon are previous generations are available, and if there'll be any other Alola Pokemon that catch my interest. May or may not put Drampa on the team too.

WingsofBliss July 15th, 2016 6:43 AM

I'm definitely picking Rowlet as my starter, and I'm almost confident in picking Rockruff and Salandit, and possibly the Grubbin line. I'd like to see what other Alola Pokemon we get though, so this isn't set in stone except for the starter.

Thunderflare July 15th, 2016 12:57 PM

I'll catch a lot of the new Pokemon just to see how they do.

youngster_joey July 15th, 2016 7:44 PM

I'll either go with Litten or Rowlet. Besides that I'm definitely using Mimikkyu and Vikavolt. Drampa will probably make it's way onto my team at some point, and if I use Rowlet I'm going to add a Salandit.

Bigdog July 16th, 2016 12:14 AM

Starters:

Pretty sure it will be easy to fill those last 3 spaces assuming there are plenty more new Pokemon to be revealed. I was kinda hoping not to plan this team but things change when seeing these new Pokemon. Perhaps I'll leave the final 3 spaces open to just random encounters that I find in game rather than planning a full team of six.

Pikachuboy July 16th, 2016 8:18 AM

I think i will just evolve the starter Pokemon and when i catch some rare ones i will evolve them.

Sabrewulf238 July 17th, 2016 4:06 AM

So let's have an update on the team situation...

Rowlet
Drampa
Mimikkyu
Bruxish
Salandit
???

It's hard to say if all of them will make it on to my final team considering we've only seen 21 Pokemon so far. Bruxish and Salandit in particular are at risk of getting the boot.

At the very least it's probably a good sign that I probably won't be using any older Pokemon this time like I did back in X.

Of course, I need a fire and grass pokemon to round off my type triad. Not sure if other people HAVE to do this for a first play through. I am hoping for a beautiful plant pokemon like Roserade or Lilligant for a grass team mate. As far as fire types go, I wish I could have a litten as a starter too :(

JJ Styles July 17th, 2016 9:24 PM

My starter is going to be Litten (aka Murdercat), and since I'll be playing on Sun, Sogaleo will be the mascot legendary which i might use for a few battles but then I'll just box soon. Salandit is definitely going to be part of the team considering how awesome its ability is, and its a lizard. Lizards are cool.

I'm not sure which Non-alola pokemon are going to make the cut but if a Scyther can be caught in Alola, i can have it join the team.

mikey July 18th, 2016 10:36 AM

Well, at this point in time, I would love to have Litten, Rockruff, Pikipek, Salandit, Mimikkyu, and Tapu Koko. But of course, too early to tell what my final team will be.

Hikamaru July 18th, 2016 10:32 PM

I usually tend to have a Grass/Fire/Water trio and a flyer on the team, with two wildcards. Popplio already sealed my Water-type slot and I believe Pikipek could serve as my flyer unless if there's a better Flying-type revealed later on.

I was considering Salandit for a Fire-type but that depends on if other Fire-types of the new Pokemon won't make my grade. Komala or Kiteruguma looks hard to pick between because I do love both of them, and even Togedemaru if there's stiff competition still to come.

I am mainly attempting to do a team of only new Pokemon, so hopefully a good Grass-type gets revealed so it can take my slot there. The two wildcards tend to be random and ones I may not reveal until my team is taking shape.

classiccartoonsftw July 19th, 2016 6:59 AM

With so many new Pokemon revealed, I feel I should update my possible team.

Pretty much confirmed: Litten, Pikipek
Very likely: Grubbin line, Bewear, Komala, Mimikyu, Pikachu
Likely: Mudsdale, Slowbro
Maybe: Bruxish, Comfey, Drampa, Togedemaru, Tapu Koko, Wimpod, Yungoos, Rotom
Unlikely: Bounsweet, Cutiefly, Rockruff

Hikamaru July 19th, 2016 7:47 AM

Looks like I am getting Bounsweet as my regional Grass-type here, but if its possible evolution's stats suck that could be a problem. Bewear's cry is kinda turning me off from using it as my Normal-type so may end up using Komala instead, because you know... koalas.

So my seemingly updated team:
- Popplio
- Komala
- Salandit (until a better Fire-type comes along)
- Pikipek (unless if there's another new Flying-type I love)
- Bounsweet
- ?????

I may wait for another reveal before that final slot is decided.

Rivvon July 19th, 2016 8:46 AM

I might add Bounsweet to my team of Litten and Cutiefly depending on if it evolves (and its Typing if it should evolve) and if there are other new Grass-Types. Rockruff is also likely to be on my team unless there are some other sweet new Rock-Types (maybe some new Fossil Pokémon?).

Sabrewulf238 July 19th, 2016 12:26 PM

Already starting to feel a bit conflicted...

Rowlet
Drampa
Mimikkyu
Wimpod
Mudsdale
Bruxish
Salandit

I know I don't want to train more than six Pokemon, because I did that in ORAS and didn't really like it. Hopefully time will make things more clear. (it'll probably make it less clear but whatever)

Totally agree about the grass/water/fire triad as a must!

I also love Bounsweet! It will likely be either our region's elegant Roserade/Roselia/Lilligant/Bellossom/Vileplum/Florges (uh, not quite a grass but same aesthetic). It could also be more akin to our region's cute Whimsicott/Jumpluff/Cherrim. Either way, I am super optimistic for either outcome!...I will be devastated if it does not evolve though :(

The other revealed pokemon I love is Mudsdale! I love when powerful and intimidating pokemon are also regal and even a bit cute. It's orangy clay details on the end of the hooves and mane really incorporates the action of a mudslide into its appearance in a streamlined way. It all depends on Rockruff's evolution as to whether or not I will be on this horse. (pun intended)

Now I am at:
Bounsweet (Grass Pokemon)
?????????? (Fire Pokemon)
Popplio (Water Pokemon)
Cutiefly/Comfey (Fairy Pokemon)
Rockruff/Mudsdale (Ground or Rock Pokemon)
??????????

I still love Pikipek and Komala...there is a possibility their evolutions may win me over! But, of course, I can also scout them for my second run through with litten or rowlet, along with Bruxish. At this rate I hope I can make a few teams of new pokemon since they are all unique standouts. HYPED!!!

PlatinumDude July 19th, 2016 7:37 PM

This team may change after release, but my first S/M team will be:
-Popplio
-Pikipek
-Vikavolt/Salandit/Tapu Koko
-pseudo-legendary
-Magearna (if I can get the event)/Tapu Koko
-Solgaleo/Lunala

This follows my tradition of having a flier, the starter, the pseudo-legend, and the box mascot on the first play through.

I was inspired by Ash from the anime to do that, even if Kalos saw him not catch a Grass-type for the first time ever.

One thing with team planning is that it can go wrong if a lot of the Pokemon you want are late-game, so we always need to have a backup choice. I mostly plan to only use 7th Gen Pokemon but if I have to use an older gen Pokemon I'll do it.

Gulpin July 19th, 2016 8:31 PM

As of now, the only ones that I really want to include are Rowlet and Bewear. I'm also leaning towards Salandit, especially if it gets an evolution. At this point though, I really just want to keep my options open - I'm thinking about only letting myself know about the officially revealed Pokemon before the release, and taking my time through the game to catch and train as much as I can to discover evolutions on my own.

Entermaid August 1st, 2016 7:12 AM

I'm fairly certain these pokemon will be on my team. Still waiting on a fire pokemon + other pokemon evolutions to fill out the rest.
