I can see myself using a full team of Alola mons for my first run, but for my second playthrough I'll most definitely be using some of the new Alolan forms of the older Pokemon. It's crazy how much things change with each new reveal, it's like I've only got two spaces left and there is probably still more than half of the new Pokedex yet to see.

Sgt. Heracross August 14th, 2016 5:37 PM

You know, I had always pictured Litten being on my team. But if it's evolution sucks, I'm going with Rowlet. Then again, with Litten potentially being cast out, I could try using Alolan Marowak or Salandit because those guys look awesome. And I might have to break my "No Legendaries" rule for my team this time because of Solgaleo. I mean, it's a freaking alchemy lion. How cool is that?! I can't pass that up.

And, I am likely to use two grass pokemon per team, but at least lurantis appearance gives it a bug typing (plus it is mostly pink) so it will not seem like two grass pokemon will be on a team, the same goes for Bounsweet, who is mostly pink. Those two will be on different teams. Aside from having a grass, water, and fire type I like to have different colored pokemon. After those games, I will need to do an Alohan Forme Team.

I am sure Lurantis is a pure Grass-type, which I know some people are confused about but at least it won't have any nasty 4x weaknesses.

I feel the same way as you too, because every time there's a new reveal I always feel at least one new Pokemon in said reveals win me over and make me have to reconsider my team again, which the non-Rowlet Grass-types have been proving to me so far (I always use a Grass/Fire/Water trio when I can get it) and even then if I wasn't Team Popplio I would have almost considered Pyukumuku as an alternative Water-type.

PokeHunterBlack August 17th, 2016 12:44 AM

Originally, i had the popplio line, pikipek line, salandit, mimmikyu, Vikivolt and one other, but with Alola forms it has become this;

Popplio line, Mimmikyu, Marowak, (The Majestic) Ninetales, Lurantis and the Pikipek line, as a final team of course.

I am playing with a different team each island but this is my final trial team (unless something else catches my eye).

Rai August 17th, 2016 4:46 PM

There aren't enough Pokemon released yet for me to fully decide... I know for a fact that I am going to have two teams. One entirely made up of new Alola Pokemon and another composed of the Alola forms of older Pokemon.

But I am definitely going to make Rowlet my starter and have an Alola Raichu <3

GayGayerson August 17th, 2016 6:02 PM

There's almost TOO many amazing Pokemon this time around. I don't dislike any of them so it's gonna be hard, especially since not all of them have even been revealed yet! But for now I'm leaning towards:

Popplio

Mimikyu

Oricorio (Pom Pom Style)

Drampa

Bewear

Shirodesuna

I'm also considering Alolan Ninetales, Alolan Exeggutor, Alolan Marowak and Alolan Raichu. Oh, and if the Chinese leak is true (which it almost definitely is) I'm pretty much positive I'm gonna have the ice/ghost snowman on my team.

I know one of the major leaks said it was going to be an Ice/Ghost-type. I really hope that is true because I love Froslass already and I know how interesting of a type combination it is.

Exactly what I am thinking right now. I mean why not

blue August 18th, 2016 9:18 AM

If they reveal a Dolphin Pokemon then it will be going straight on my team. I'm choosing Litten as my starter, I already have Lurantis planned as a Grass-type member so I'm just waiting for a viable Water-type to complete that type trio. 8)

classiccartoonsftw August 18th, 2016 11:53 AM

Speaking of dolphins, when I was younger, I though Gulpin looked like a dolphin.

Well, its mouth looks a bit like a dolphin's mouth. The arms too.

Most likely won't be using the new pokemon anytime soon. Too "cool" for my tastes.

Hands August 21st, 2016 10:46 PM

Palossand
Crawbrawler
Turtonator
Regirock
Clefable
Togedemaru

Harmonie August 22nd, 2016 5:39 AM

Too hard to tell a complete picture right now, as we don't have any leaks of merit for any final evolutions except for with the starters.

Ninetales and Marowak are pretty much guaranteed. Raichu is a possibility, but I'd like to avoid using it because I've used Raichu so many times. May still happen, though, because Electric/Psychic typing takes two types I usually use two different Pokemon types for, so I could use another new Pokemon with unique typing if I didn't just have a separate Pokemon for both types.

I always use the water type, so that's pretty much guaranteed. Although in OR I dropped Swampert because that's my least favorite water starter line by a wide margin. I don't anticipate that happening with Popplio. However, I also really want Rowlet. It's the most appealing starter here, and also has the most appealing leaked final evolution. So hopefully maybe someone will give one to me? D: (I may end up getting the game late, as I don't really have money to be buying games anyway, so it might work out). Pikipek is cute, too, but I've not always been in love with the final evolutions of the starting bird Pokemon as of late.

Rockruff or Mudsdale are contenders for another spot. I don't know yet.

NightCard August 22nd, 2016 4:31 PM

My team isn't completely set in stone yet, for obvious reasons. I'll go ahead and post what I'm currently thinking about using, though:

Rowlet, Crabrawler, and Marowak are pretty much guaranteed spots on my team. I'm currently debating between Electivire and Vikavolt, if someone can trade with me, then I'll go with the former. For a water-type, I'm thinking of using Lapras or maybe Pyukumuku. I also really want to use Drampa, he just looks cool to me.

I'm still going to look for backups, though. Just in case something is too hard to find, or appears too late. What do you guys think?

Mato August 22nd, 2016 5:17 PM

I don't know which starter I want. Litten, maybe?

Litten?
Mimikyu
Morelull
Minior
Alola Raichu
Pyukumuku

I've never used one before, and I think it looks awesome.

MarinoKadame August 22nd, 2016 10:13 PM

Also remember they don't show the Hidden Abilities on the trailers.

countryemo August 23rd, 2016 12:36 AM

<Starter> I'm waiting for evos to be revealed. As it stands, probably Popplio or Rowlet
Pikipek, I always chose the regional bird
Vikivolt depending on other electric types. Not a huge fan of its pre-evos.
Mudsdale

abarai August 23rd, 2016 5:33 AM

Not sure of the name but I really like the fighting type crab. The little details are so nice.
Probably go litten as my starter and rest of the team I won't decide till i play the game.

Bayleefshine August 23rd, 2016 11:53 AM

At the moment is this team but I really want to try all of them at some point :)

Rockruff - hope he does get 3 evos and becomes the new eevee :) I'd probably get three and train them all.

Lurantis - it is a pretty pokemon

Bewear - I actually like bewear. Simple design and from his description, he looks to be a bug physical attacker

Minior - I like this guy. Reminds me of carbink and I like the variations. I actually thought of a fakemon like him a couple of years ago. So nice to see that dream become a reality.

I'll leave it at that for right now. The water types this gen haven't been the best for me tho I like all pokemon in some shape or form. I would say wishiwashi but I feel like I may need to figure out ways to counter this because pokemon like that and Mudsdale will be used by everyone.

Edit: I'll probably buy both versions.
So here is team 2.
Crabrawler - I think it is unique.
litten line - I like this pokemon's rumored final evo litten3. He looks like someone from Mucha Lucha :3
togedemaru - I like him being like an electric ferrothorn. I think he will come in handy in doubles.
Alolan Marowak - Fire dancers look cool :3 I'm name him tonga :p

I have my eye on the other alolan forms which I think are very very cool. Also, I'm curious how Bounsweet and Rowlet will turn out...

I am hoping Lurantis and Morelull get better abilities. Leaf guard and effect spore aren't great especially since many other new pokemon are getting useful abilities.

clefairydesuyo August 23rd, 2016 12:24 PM

Lurantis
Morelull
Mimikyu
(Alolan) Raichu
(Alolan) Ninetales
(Alolan) Meowth

Eventually Magearna and Lunala will be in my team, for sure!

Will probably pick Rowlet as my starter :pokeball:

And Snow Cloak for Vulpix, Ninetails and Sandshrew line is kind of niche because I don'T really see Haze teams compared to Sandstorm teams.

Thank you for the advice! I've actually decided to go with Vikavolt. The Electrizer might not be available before the post-game, and I'd rather not wait until then to evolve Electabuzz.

If it turns out to be obtainable before then, I'll go ahead and use Electivire in the opposite version.
