Yeah Whatever..

Poison/Fire is what I am going for..Pretty obvious I guess

FireSnow July 5th, 2016 12:19 PM

Finally!!! Weezing is getting a mega!!!

Anyways, I also would like to see it become a Posion/Fire. If we allow it to keep Levitate, it becomes one of the more dangerous 'mons in the meta.

Plus, I have been begging for a Poison/Fire type for years and I can't let this opportunity pass me by.

Sonata July 7th, 2016 4:07 AM

Poison/Dark yo. Best typing for what it has to work with.

punkysaur July 7th, 2016 5:09 AM

poison/dark.Or to make it a great threat poi & steel with levitate!

gimmepie July 9th, 2016 7:42 AM

The poll is going up!

shubham2207 July 9th, 2016 10:48 PM

Voted fot poison/fire, obvious choice because of its design and movepool..

FireSnow July 9th, 2016 11:27 PM

I just can't say no to a Poison/Fire type for Weezing...It is just too right for me. I can only hope that it actually happens.

gimmepie July 14th, 2016 12:54 AM

Poison/Fire wins it! So what abilities should we consider?

Megan July 14th, 2016 1:15 PM

With Poison/Fire it basically begs to get Earthquake'd/Earthpower'd. At the same time, not having Black Sludge means its only recovery option is Painsplit. Add a weakness to Stealth Rock and it's going to be hell of a fun using it defensively. In that case both Levitate and Regenerator would be nice to have, preferably at the same time.

I suppose it could still go somewhat offensively, as a decent tank (can't really imagine it having a high base Speed stat). Adaptability, or maybe Sheer Force, sounds nice, since Poison/Fire looks like decent offensive coverage.

FireSnow July 14th, 2016 4:46 PM

I agree that either it should stick with Levitate or gain Regenerator as that ground weakness is major hole in its defense. Either of those abilities would help a lot to mitigating that problem and give it more longevity

gimmepie July 16th, 2016 12:42 AM

I think Levitate is the way to go myself. EQ/EP will wipe it out instantly otherwise. It's probably better to go with the need for good hazard removal support than to leave a big a weakness for the sake of losing one.

We now have an inherit SR weakness and one-shot potential from a very common move. Therefore you're forced to run Levitate if you want to use it defensively.

Therefore i am actually going to along an offensive route, based on a fast killing machine. Weezing now has access to STAB Fire Blast which is great. In terms of ability? I'd love something such as Sheer Force; boosting all 4 of its offensive moves? Yes please!

In afterthought, you COULD run Filter.

It leaves you weak to SR and makes EQ even scarier sure but it also works pretty well vs a fair few other types/threats.

Filter and Sheer Force though, interesting ideas :D

punkysaur July 16th, 2016 7:26 AM

Levitate.Cause mold breaker would still daint it.

Earth Traveler July 17th, 2016 11:42 AM

*sighs for a million years at seeing Poison-Fire typing*

Well since a majority voted to pigeonhole the concept into basically needing Levitate, I'm not sure what to support besides the three abilities already suggested...

I don't know. The Create-a-Pokemon project over at Smogon made a Poison-Fire Pokemon and gave it Dry Skin, which might not be a horrible idea? anymore than Poison-Fire was a horrible idea. >.>

gimmepie July 18th, 2016 5:10 AM

Apologies for being late. The ability poll will be up shortly!

Edit: Doing it now!

FireSnow July 19th, 2016 9:36 PM

Ya know, the more I have thought about it, the more I understand Rab's point, so I actually decided to go with Sheer Force. I think this could be very interesting and I am quickly loving the idea of a fast, killing machine Mega Weezing.

Lycanthropy July 20th, 2016 3:03 AM

I voted for Levitate, it's going to die without it. Hard.

gimmepie July 27th, 2016 4:56 AM

Sorry for the massive delay guys, my internet completely died. Levitate wins the poll, so lets start throwing some stats out there.

FireSnow July 27th, 2016 2:31 PM

Alrighty, looking at Weezing's current stats and movepool, I thought it could use a bit of an upgrade in a few areas to help give it an overall balance that I think would fit it best.

So my idea is:

HP: 65 -> 65 (+0)
Attack: 90 -> 100 (+10)
Defense: 120 -> 120 (+0)
Sp. Attack: 85 ->105 (+20)
Sp. Defense: 70 -> 110 (+40)
Speed: 60 -> 90 (+30)

With this setup, it really allows Mega Weezing to be played in so many different ways, whether it be physically offensive/defensive, support, specially offensive/defensive, or even mixed. I really see this stat set-up maximizing the potential that Mega Weezing has and making it a 'mon that is awfully hard to prep for.

Earth Traveler July 28th, 2016 4:51 PM

I was looking over Weezing's movepool, and I noticed it has access to some good Special moves, such as Thunderbolt, Dark Pulse, and obviously both of its Megas STABs. So...

HP: 65
Atk: 90
Def: 120
SpA: 115 (+30)
SpD: 90 (+20)
Spe: 110 (+50)

Obviously going straight Special sweeper here, because lest we forget: this Mega is weak to Stealth Rock. Simply by virtue of its typing, it lacks survivability, so it, in my opinion, cannot function as any kind of wall. Since it already has base 120 Defense it doesn't need anymore there, and I put some in Special Defense to more bulk on that side.

gimmepie August 1st, 2016 3:24 AM

Alright, the poll is going up but first here's my own contribution - something hyper-defensive.

HP: 65 (+0)
Atk: 50 (-40)
Def: 160 (+40)
Sp. Atk: 95 (+10)
Sp. Def: 160 (+90)
Spe: 60 (+0)

gimmepie August 6th, 2016 6:25 AM

Sweeper Weezing has it! Stay tuned for the article and for the next poll which will be appearing soon.
