Not really out more often, because I usually ride my bike everywhere, but the hours have increased. I have noticed a 5 mile ride to the store is now, for some unknown reason, coming in at 7-10 miles and taking 4 times as long.

Sheep July 10th, 2016 6:16 PM

Oh man yeah. I've walked around 2 miles today if not more which is a lot more than usual and it's really exciting to be outside. I loooove GO even though all these freezes and crashes. Hopefully I'll keep at it, like Fabio said it could very well wear off but it's Pokémon and I tend to get overly obsessed. =p

Cay July 10th, 2016 8:02 PM

Oh, definitely! It's done wonders for my friends, too. I've heard of people forming groups to go out walking/playing. Currently I'm a little sick, so I'm eagerly waiting to go out and catch this goddamn Clefairy, haha. Can't wait to see how active I will be once I go to the City (San Francisco)!

Bubblerune July 11th, 2016 6:07 AM

I am a runner so I came outside quite often already! However, I walked my usual 10km round today (that I used to run with Nike+ Running) and it didn't hatch my 10km egg...

When I am running I have to stop in order to catch so that's quite a hassle hahah.

Steven July 11th, 2016 9:43 AM

I hate going outside. The sun burns you, bugs attack you, and I trip a lot.

That being said, yes, I've been walking almost every day. Today it almost didn't happen because I got all hyped to hatch my 10km egg, got all ready, took one step out the door and walking right into a spider web but I still went.

bobbyyarsulik July 12th, 2016 7:32 AM

Yes, but more so now I see my surroundings in a whole new way. I see pokestops instead of churches and fountains!

xMewtwox July 12th, 2016 9:50 AM

I go to the gym about five times a week and do my cardio there but decided today I'd go for a walk after my lift. Walked around my neighborhood for about 20 minutes to hit all the pokestops around and caught a few new pokemon. Was pretty cool but I was alone so it got boring after a while. If I had a friend or two with me I think I would enjoy it a little more.

MadHatter62 July 12th, 2016 2:43 PM

Yes, not to go out and walk around the neighborhood but to watch the idiots driving and trying to catch Pokemon almost causing an accident in the process.

I put a lure down at a bank and I'm not even kidding you, about five cars pulled into the parking lot with BOTH drivers and passengers with their phones out while in motion. In our state it isn't just texting that's illegal, it's any cell phone use that isn't hands-free. Park first then take out your phone my god.

Holy Arceus somebody that actually possesses the ancient treasure that is common sense! Someone give her a rare candy!

Jetfire July 12th, 2016 6:43 PM

I met an individual that bought a 1 day park hopper (174.99) over at DisneyWorld just to play PokemonGo.

The commitment is real out here.

Iris Mist July 13th, 2016 6:29 AM

I had surgery on my foot last month, so my mobility has been pretty limited. But ever since I installed the game, I've been motivated to go out and exercise. Of course, I end up with pain by the end of the day.

I can't wait to head in to the city so I can find more stops and players though.

mikey July 13th, 2016 5:28 PM

Definitely. I find myself taking more walks and discovering new places near me I never even knew existed haha.

mokonasakura July 14th, 2016 3:00 AM

A friend asked me if I wanted to go walking, it was a scary new experience.

Sabrewulf238 July 14th, 2016 1:37 PM

A bit. I went for a walk into town that I otherwise wouldn't have today.

Before today I had an old data plan so I couldn't use online without it costing a lot (so I didn't really feel the need to go anywhere)....but now I have 7.5gb to mess around with for 30 days so it should be fine.

NightKrow July 14th, 2016 2:02 PM

Me before today: bed.

Me after today: LET'S GO CATCH SOME POKÉMON! *douses self in sun cream* *takes ALL of the hayfever meds* *charges up portable charger* *goes outside*

Sirfetch’d July 14th, 2016 5:02 PM

Mine has encouraged me to be at work and in town more lol. There aren't too many Pokemon right outside of where I live. THE LIFE OF LIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE http://cbc.pokecommunity.com/config/emoticons/ugh.gif

NightKrow July 14th, 2016 5:13 PM

apparently I didn't douse myself in enough suncream because now the tops of my ears are peeling

...maybe I should bathe in it next time

Love_Fight_Repeat July 14th, 2016 10:48 PM

Yeah for sure. I have been going out to more parks. Today I visited a higher end shopping center I walked around for 2 hours and I even visited a local Red Robin's to eat because they had a PokeStop. I even got a discount because I was playing Pokemon Go. It was a pretty good day.

Altaria July 16th, 2016 9:17 AM

It definitely has. Me and my husband are both fairly active already, but like yesterday for instance, we woke up at 8am specifically to go on a walk down main street and collect pokestops, find pokemon etc. Later on we went to the pool and by the pool there's a park with a winding track and quite a few pokestops there so we ended up exploring the park as well, which turned out to be GORGEOUS with a gazebo overlooking the most gorgeous pond (which happened to have a gym on the other side). There were quite a few other people who had the same idea as us and we found a group of maybe 8-10 older teenagers sitting around the rock wall (which was a pokestop with a lure) catching pokemon as they showed up and commenting about the stuff they got, etc.

It's already been soooo much fun and I wore my fitbit which let me know I had over 12,000 steps by dinner time! The only issue is that I got ridiculously bad sunburned from being out all day, but wearing sunscreen is a small price to pay for such an amazing time. Ha.

Splishy Splashy July 16th, 2016 4:57 PM

I am a Lifeguard at a pool so I am always outside anyway so it really hasn't got me out more. One cool thing though is it got a group of friends around 10 people taking walks together trying to check Pokemon.

pokemontoptips July 16th, 2016 9:56 PM

definately i see crazy amount of people on the street at night time

Amewsing July 16th, 2016 10:36 PM

I've been going outside everyday due to XC practicing by myself and a friend. However, this game has caused me to stay 3-4 hours longer than usually, and made me buy a power bank! It's fun to place lure modules with my friend as nearby Pokemon GO players come and stay to catch Pokemon. I met some very nice people through that!

gvrys July 17th, 2016 12:33 AM

I have already been going out but it has encouraged me to go out even more now!

TwilightBlade July 17th, 2016 5:26 AM

Oh definitely, I visited a park I haven't been to in ten years, explored a new side of town, and walked up and down the mall while staring at my phone for two hours. :p
