Favorite Anime Music?

I've only watched a few animes but, of the ones I've watched, the music has been really good and added so much more feeling and depth to the scene and to the series as a whole.

My personal favorites are:

Orange from Toradora!

Kimi dake wo... from Bokura ga Ita

Re:Re: from Erased

What about you guys?

I have a lot of music I like or otherwise enjoy from anime. I'll just drop the last one to really get stuck on repeat for me, the Non Non Biyori Repeat ED, Okaeri:

Spoiler:

There's quite a bit of other stuff, too. Here's a list I made in a thread from over a year ago for more stuff that I've gotten stuck in my head over the years:

My favorite anime music is the opening theme of Mekakucity Actors, simply named daze (no, not capitalized). It just sounds so awesome for an intro.

Basically all my favorite anime music comes from Kagerou Project. I prefer Yuukei Yesterday the most.

Sefuree August 1st, 2016 8:31 AM

I am a Rurouni Kenshin fan and this song from the live action adaption brings back some of the sadder memories of the manga.

The intro of the Tokyo Ghoul anime gives me major feels. The song fits the story perfectly and the soft beginning and explosions of colour really make it one of my favs. It really did the feeling of the manga justice!

OOPS.

I just realized I love yet another anime intro song.

This Game by Suzuki Konomi (there is also a dubstep version, which I prefer more).

I always thought that Death Note had a pretty good soundtrack. Good enough to justify me buying all 3 of the soundtracks.

Naruto at times has some good music. Pain's Theme, Sasuke's Theme, & Orochimaru's Theme were great

Goci October 2nd, 2016 3:19 PM

Ghost in the Shell OST by Kenji Kawai.

I know this one is a live performance, but it's just as good as it is in the movie. It's Oblivious by Kalafina from Kara no Kyoukai.

Pretty much all of the Zankyou no Terror soundtrack is amazing, VON however is my top pick
Spoiler:

cowboy bebop had a fantastic track and the ending has such a great vibe.
Spoiler:

More recently I really enjoyed the music in Gundam Thunderbolt. Very sad and emotional series, the tracks fit so well.
Spoiler:

Cannot forget Nujabes. Samurai champloo was the first anime I ever watched (excluding pokemon/dbz), the instrumentals throughout were very emotional and memorable. Giving the scenes more life. The show introduced me to anime and nujabes music, forever one of my favourates. Definitely check his stuff out. RIP Nujabes.
Spoiler:

Death note had some very powerful music and Naruto had many OP/ED's that I really enjoyed. FMA:B first opening sticks in my head as one of the tops. Aswell as the opening for GitS SAC.

My favourite anime song of all time is Scattered Rain from Trigun. Now I stress that you HAVE TO listen to the entire thing. I don't care if you think it's a waste of 5:30 of your life.

Actually I just like the entire soundtrack. (Keep in mind I only have the first half)

Altairis October 6th, 2016 10:59 PM

Hmmm, for openings and endings, here are a few that I like that maybe people haven't seen too much of (though I'm just speculating, not actually sure haha)

New Game Ending: Now Loading!! by fourfolium

I love almost all the Idolmaster songs but here's one I guess

or another. I dunno if anybody's gonna listen anyway, haha.

nothing is complete without this op

gimmepie October 8th, 2016 9:33 PM

There's honestly too many to list but Wandering Son and Zankyou no Terror are both anime I've finished recently with amazing soundtracks.

Also the first opening for Higurashi is godly.

NohBuddy2016 October 8th, 2016 10:21 PM

So, I have a pretty obnoxiously large list of anime songs I love, so instead, I'll just name my top 3 favorites.

Red Faction (Theme of "Black Lagoon" | Season 1)

Feuerroter Pfeil und Bogen (also known as "Guren No Yumiya") (Theme of "Attack On Titan" | Season 1)

Super Saiyan 3 Ascension Theme (Memorable song of "Dragon Ball Z" (and others))

Otherwise, there is honestly just waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many songs to list.

Death Note's OST!!!

semi October 11th, 2016 3:25 AM

Inner Universe by Origa, from Ghost In the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, is an absolutely fantastic OP that chills my blood and gets me every time with its beautiful vocals and graceful-sounding melody.

Complications by ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D, the second OP of Durarara!!, will forever remain one of my all-time favourites. Being my favourite OP from my top anime, it's pretty self-explanatory.

I cannot get away with posting this without mentioning My Dearest by supercell. The first OP from Guilty Crown is simply too beautiful to leave out.

In my experience, out of all the anime I've seen over the years, Shigurui stands out as a visceral, cerebral, bloody, gory mess of human greed, envy, feebleness and frailness. It's a look into the lives of a select few samurai and ronin and the madness that binds them together. The artistic style and vibrant style of the show is stunningly beautiful as well as horrifyingly brutal.

Shigurui shows the true way of a samurai, and that sword battles were not a game. To use a real sword was to mean death for you or your opponent. There was no middle ground. A flash of steel, a sweep or jab means instant death. There is no smashing blades against shields. No clashing of sabres or swords to prove your worth or show off your fancy footwork. There are no dragons or daemons to be slain. No princess to be rescued, nor does the world require a hero to save it. In a duel between samurai, you either die, or do not. That is the sum of all things.

The series is short lived, but full in it's delivery. It didn't waste a second of animation and presented itself fully. Everyone that enjoys anime and loves the culture and history of the ancient samurai owes it to themselves to watch Shigurui: Death Frenzy.
