DIAMOND QUADRUPED BODY STYLE

- I chose Turtwig as my starter due to the fact that it was the only usable one. I was also able to capture a shinx and bidoof before taking on the first gym. The first gym was easy, I just had to click absorb on Turtwig. I then cught a buizel and pachirisu in floroama town. My turtwig and shinx evolved during the fight with Mars. I caught a ponyta outside of Eterna city and used it to defeat Gardenia after three tries. I caught a Stunky on Cycling road and am currently about to arrive in Hearthome city

Not trying to be a bitch, but this challenge has been around before here : http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=296577

Not only that, I was never notified of anyone wanting to revive it and neither has the previous owner...

First off that thread hasn't been posted on for over three years and I don't just want to try to revive an old one, and there are some different rules on that challenge then mine.

Yeah
Spoiler:
because some of us put real effort in running challenges
the rules might be slightly different and I know the challenge was dead but it is, essentially, the same challenge so it's common courtesy to at least ask whoever ran it last if it's ok to run it again.

Enough Plz, I don't want you posting rude things on my challenge, the Moderator approved my challenge which means it's FINE. I'm not doing anything wrong here

Pokemon Diamond Quadruped Body Style Challenge UPDATE

- I battled all of the trainers in the big loop of hearthome, solaceon, pastoria and veilstone city. I caught a hippopotas, also my buizel evolve into Floatzel. I then battled Maylene and crasher Wake, during the wake battle my luxio evolved into Luxray, it looks so cool. I'm going to go battle the ghost gym leader next.

Disturb Not The Harmony August 11th, 2016 12:42 PM

For future reference, I think people should be allowed to use pre-evolutions with a different body style so long as they evolve them as fast as possible (so that, for instance, people can use Weedle, Caterpie, and Venonat during the "Pokemon with two or more pairs of wings" challenge for Blue) and hack in one Pokemon/pre-evolution at the beginning of the game if no starter/early-route Pokemon of their body type is available. For instance, someone playing with the "only a head" ruleset on Red wouldn't ordinarily have Pokemon of that body type available until Rock Tunnel, so they could hack in Shellder instead.

That said, I'll sign up with:
Username: Disturb Not The Harmony
Game: Blue
Body Style: Quadruped
A decent variety of Pokemon; I don't think I'll even need HM slaves. Will update soon.

Update 1:
Spoiler:

I'm already at Celadon. Current party: Persian L29, Ivysaur L31, Raticate L28, Vulpix L21, Vaporeon L25. A pretty basic run - I'm using Raticate and Persian to take out things Ivysaur doesn't do well against. I know from experience that Raticate falls off with time, though, so I'm training Persian for when that happens. Vulpix has gotten Dig so it has utility other than Fire moves.

The evolutionary lines I can use are Persian, Raticate, Venusaur, Ninetales, Arcanine, Rapidash, Tauros, and Eevee. I'd like Tauros, but probably won't get it. Venusaur will probably handle most things. Of the Fire-types, I like Ninetales best, so I'll go for that one. Vaporeon's best of the Eeveelutions because I'll be able to fire off high-Special Ice Beams at Lance's dragons; I can get by with putting Thunderbolt on Persian to dispatch Gyarados.

Against E4, Lorelei will give me the most trouble because most of her Ice-types are also Water-types, and they all have high Special so Persian's Thunderbolt won't be too helpful. (I need to save at least two charges for the Gyaradoses, anyway.) Bruno's Pokemon should go down to Razor Leaf spam, especially since it's an automatic crit for Venusaur in Gen 1. Agatha's should go down mostly to Dig, with perhaps an Ice Beam to Golbat. Lance is Vaporeon's prey. Everything except Alakazam on Rival's team should be a pretty routine sweep, though Alakazam, as always, is an issue. I think I have a reasonable team.

E4 Update:
Spoiler:

So the game was pretty normal up to this point. Starting E4 with
L41 Persian (Bite, Screech, Thunderbolt)
L42 Ninetales (Flamethrower, Confuse Ray, Quick Attack, Dig)
L38 Raticate (Hyper Fang, Quick Attack)
L43 Venusaur (Razor Leaf, Leech Seed)
L43 Vaporeon (Surf, Sand-Attack, Quick Attack, Ice Beam)

Lorelei, as predicted, was very difficult. I ended up defeating Lapras mainly because I'd put Leech Seed on it. Entire team but Vaporeon got swept, but Vaporeon stalled long enough to win. With after-battle healing, Max Potion x5, Full Restore x1, and Revive x4 used.

Bruno got lucky and KOed Vaporeon with Hitmonlee, but the rest was a sweep. Venusaur was only half down before his final Pokemon went down. With after-battle healing, Max Potion x2 and Revive x1 were used.

Agatha was surprisingly easy. Dig against the Ghosts and Flamethrower against the others carried the day. I guess Ninetales is just that good. PokeFlute x1, Max Potion x2, and a Full Restore were used.

Lance got off to a bad start when I started with Vaporeon rather than Persian, but that was quickly fixed and two Thunderbolts and a Pay Day brought it down. Unfortunately things went completely haywire when Dragonite wasn't OHKOed by Ice Beam, and he proceeded to sweep most of my team, only to be brought down by... Persian. Huh. With after-battle healing, Max Potion x4 and Revive x3 were used.

Moment of truth: Rival. Two Ice Beams and a Quick Attack downed Pidgeot, which is probably the longest it's ever lasted in one of my runs. Spammed six Sand Attacks against Alakazam because I hate it, then Screeched it and attempted to bite it to death with Persian. This didn't go so well, so Ninetales ended up getting the kill instead. Rhydon, being a walking joke Pokemon, went down to one Razor Leaf. Ninetales dispatched Exeggcutor. One Max Potion got used as the Gyarados battle began, and after Venusaur fainted, one Max Potion and Revive were used to bring Persian back onto its feet. It turned out to be unneeded as Gyarados went down to a combination of confusion and Leech Seed. Unfortunately Persian stayed on its feet just long enough to faint to Charizard's Slash, but the big flaming lizard decided to apologize by locking itself into Rage... I didn't even know Rival's Charizard still HAD Rage. One Max Potion, one Full Restore, and multiple Confuse Rays later, Ninetales settled in to watching the Stupidest Show on Earth as the beast obligingly KOed itself. There were a few Revives for insurance, but no matter: Charizard went down, and that was that.

Total items used against Elite Four: Revive x10, Max Potion x15, Full Restore x3.

Fun challenge, would do again. Aside from some last-minute EXP on Vaporeon, I entered the Hall of Fame with no Pokemon above L45, which I think is a first for me. This is the first time I've used Ninetales in the E4, and it impressed me greatly. Also, after multiple challenges with restricted types and/or items, it was good to use a full-fledged team again. XD

Add me to the "Single Champions" list, please?

Xander's Pokemon Diamond Quadruped Body Style Challenge

It's been a while since I played this, but I'm going to try and finish the challenge, anyway right now I'm grinding away for the Elite Four, because battling all the trainers in the game apparently only gets you to about lvl 40, 15 lvls below the E4
