I could envision an Alola Form of Marowak looking something like this.

Omg... I Got It!!!
And I can't believe how close to this fakemon is...

I agree with colours' list. Gen2 is my favorite and they are too often forgotten. Just look at the mega evolutions how they almost didn't touched this generation (do we have a gen2 Mega?)

I wonder if we will see any Alolan forms further than Gen I Pokemon? We've only seen a handful but all of them are from Kanto so far. I can think of so many great Pokemon that would be perfect for an Alolan form so I'm really hoping this isn't something that is purely restricted to just Gen I.

Would love to see an Alola Raichu :3

HardstyleRaver2 August 9th, 2016 6:26 AM

I'm hoping to see an Alolan Dragonite with a Fighting/Dragon typing.

WingsofBliss August 9th, 2016 6:37 AM

After seeing this new batch with Meowth and Marrowack, I'm hoping that they give us some more brightly-colored Alola Formes. Between the Vulpix and Sandshrew line and with Meowth and Marrowack having "cold" color schemes, I'm slowly starting to loose interest in Alola Formes all together. That sounds really weird, but it's hard for me to describe... I think it's because when I think of the colors and their typings(Ice, Ghost, and Dark), it makes me think of depression. Like Kanto has turned emo or something lol.

I just had an idea that Alola Vanillite could be a Popsicle or a chocolate ice cream with Sweet Veil and now I really want it nooooooooooooo--

Though really, what other Kanto Pokemon can receive an Alola form that can fit in this region, anyway? You can only go so far with this before Pokemon from other regions are involved...

Design-wise, Alola Meowth is 1:1 a recolor of the original Meowth. Pokémon are capable of different facial expressions so just a change in glance doesn't constitute a new design. With that in mind--the fact that some of these Alola forms will be just pure recolors--technically any Pokémon could receive one. That includes all Pokémon from gen 1, sadly...

Oh, no, I don't think every gen 1 Pokémon will get an Alola form. But knowing that some Alola forms could be recolors opens up the possibility that all Alola forms will be of gen 1 Pokémon. I don't want to believe it myself, but, even XY, when they introduced Megas for the first time, showed Pokémon from a variety of generations, even though most ended up being from gen 1. If we don't get news of a non-gen 1 Alola form soon, it's gonna be hard for me to hold onto hope that we'll see any at all...

blue August 9th, 2016 9:10 AM

I think it will be like Megas where only a select few will receive Alola forms. Maybe if this is something restricted to Kanto Pokemon, then there will be about a quarter of all the Gen I Pokemon to receive them assuming there is about 35 new Alolan forms. I could see that being a thing as a means to appeal to the "genwunners". The fact that we've seen no forms beyond the first generation and we had seen a variety of megas for different Pokemon, I'm going to assume it is restricted to Kanto Pokemon for the time being.

Nah August 9th, 2016 11:47 AM

There isn't any Pokemon I can think of off the top of my head that I would wanna see an Alolan form for, but I do hope they'll give them to more than just Gen 1 pokes. I get that Sun/Moon is the 20th anniversary of the release of the Gen 1 games, but it's also a celebration of the entire main series, yes? There is, as far as I know, very little fanservice for any of the previous generation besides the first one.

Hopefully.

The thing you need to know is: Pokémon are living beings, they are organisms which leave in the same world as humans. They are no different from humans, in the " they are living beings" way. And you know, we, as well as plants, animals , etc, are constantly evolving and changing. All living things need to adapt to the ecosystem, so they HAVE to change. Alolan Form Pokémon are the same. They changed forms and typings, because they needed to ADAPT to the different habitats they had, since their ideal ones had already been occupied, etc. In the Pokémon Sun and Moon website, you can understand why they changed.

If, and only if, it's something that Kanto Pokemon receive, then what makes Kanto Pokemon so special that only they receive Alola forms? This is something I'd like explained as well in the coming months.

I am feeling the same way about Alola Forms as you do, in that why all the ones revealed so far are 1st Gen Pokemon with no current reason backing it up. My likely guess why they're mostly giving these to 1st Gen is to likely promote 1st Gen due to the relevance to the 20th anniversary, the VC releases of the original games, and the currently 1st Gen-only nostalgia-appealing roster of Pokemon GO. Some people have gotten back into Pokemon with GO after being away from the franchise for years, and seeing the original Pokemon again helps them recognize the fact that it's a Pokemon game, so if all the Alola Forms are 1st Gen Pokemon it may encourage those appealed by nostalgia to want to play Sun & Moon so they can play with their old faves in a new way.

If the next Alola Forms to get revealed are another 1st Gen Pokemon then I will likely start to see my guess of 1st Gen promotion as real.

I think an Alolan form of Aipom and Ambipom would be pretty neat - especially if you changed their types to Fighting. I'm just hoping we'll soon see more diversity with other generation Alolan forms.

Idk the reason behind why only kanto pokemon get alolan forms but i think they will work this into the story. One of the leaks mentioned the SS. Anne is in the game which makes me believe they might make it in the story where the SS. Anne brought a bunch of pokemon from kanto into the islands where they started adapting and changed. Idk thats just my thoughts on what might happen.

Pinkie-Dawn August 9th, 2016 5:48 PM

I'm getting the feeling that Raichu and Wigglytuff are getting Alola forms. My prediction is that Alola Raichu will gain a secondary typing (either Fighting or Fairy), and the entire Jigglypuff line will retain its Fairy typing but have its Normal typing replaced by a Psychic typing to make up for the decrease in Psychic type Kanto Pokémon who lost that typing in favor of a different typing.

Honestly, I would just want to know what an Alolan Snorlax would look like.

Well would you look at that lol.

I would also really love to see Alolan Dewgong. I love Dewgong but it isn't the best in battle.
