QUESTION OF THE DAY

What is the number one Pokémon you're trying to catch right now and how are you handling the challenge?

Phoenixstarz September 15th, 2016 10:06 PM

Chansey, it's the only Pokemon I need for pokedex that I can't evolve using buddy system.
To achieve this goal I am running around (actually running for miles and miles) to hatch 10k eggs still no luck so far

That's brutal. That was like me with Aerodactyl. You never know, though. I would spend time around as many lures as possible and hope for some sweet luck.

Did you know Chansey's Japanese name is literally "Lucky?" >_>

i know a spot where Chansey has been seen a few times in my nearest city but i dont get much chance to actually get up there. im just hoping that one random 10k egg gives me a chansey ive really stepped up with getting distance since the buddy system update ive done 766km in total and 47k of that is since Tuesday evening

UltimateUmbreon September 16th, 2016 5:45 AM

Grimer and Muk. Never seen one. Never hatched one. Hatching all my 5k eggs in the hopes of hatching one. Going to NY this weekend and I'm going to hunt nonstop til I get that Grimer!

Good luck with that Chansey, keep hatching eggs and check for it at all times. I found my wild Chansey randomly at work where there were no pokestops, lures, or anything rare.

Phoenixstarz September 16th, 2016 6:45 AM

despite living near a waste recycling plant i expected to see loads of Grimer but i had to get mine from 5k eggs, ive finally got a high IV muk but its low CP atm, will be worth getting candy for though as Muk is awesome

I do love Muk, its personality in the anime was so awesome. I want a muk to attack me like it did Prof. Oak.

Believe it or not, Grimer and Muk are rarer than Dragonite, Snorlax and the like in NYC. It's so odd. I've gotten lucky by being in the right place at the right time, but the Grimer line is definitely something you want to keep an eye on here.

Wasn't there something about Niantic decreasing the spawn rate of Grimer and Muk because they were causing some sort of glitch or virus in the game? If so, that wouldn't surprise me that they are so rare.

Blanche September 16th, 2016 8:44 PM

It is certainly enlightening to hear about everyone's goals.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

If you could add one feature to Pokémon GO, what would it be and why?

Phoenixstarz September 17th, 2016 1:16 AM

There are a lot of features I would love to see but if I had to pick one then it would have to be Gen II, reasons being I'm at 135/142 at the moment so it's very rare I find something I need and I'm missing that feeling of "I need to run around until I find that new Pokemon".
Also the longer it takes for gen II to come in will likely mean a longer wait until later generations and I really want Gen IV (I really liked the evolutions of Gen I Pokemon like magmortar, electivire, rhyperior etc) so if they only add each generation once a year then I've got a long wait until then but if it's every 6 months then I could have my Magmortar by next Christmas.

Spark September 17th, 2016 11:43 PM

Whoa, it's late here!

QUESTION OF THE DAY

How much time do you think you've spent playing so far?

Phoenixstarz September 18th, 2016 10:54 AM

Hmmm interesting question probably a lot more than I would like to admit to, 2 1/2months about 3-4 hours a day (some of that walking to and from where I would have gone anyway) but usually a 2 hour round trip to town and back to get pokestops and take gyms
Probably about 300 hrs total so far

Altaria September 18th, 2016 12:05 PM

Hmmm. Good question. Probably close to 100 hours if I had to guess. I don't play it as much anymore, I much prefer the traditional games.

I don't even want to think about the hours I've sunk into this game already.

I try not to compare this game to the core series games. It's a good thing they're two different animals, which is why I hope they take a more innovative approach to things we love in the core series games and adjust them to fit GO rather than provide watered down versions.

*cough* combat system.

Candela September 18th, 2016 7:59 PM

Remember not to share personal or sensitive information for this one!

QUESTION OF THE DAY

What is your go-to place to search for new Pokémon?

Phoenixstarz September 19th, 2016 6:11 AM

I go to my local city which is Bristol and the rich area is Clifton and apparently there was loads of ingress players there so there is pokestops on almost every street. There is also a zoo with 10 pokestops in (where I got my dragonite) I also found a kabutops and aerodactyl up near there. At the bottom of Clifton is the triangle where Chansey have apparently been spotted so that's where my focus is right now.
Only problem is that entire area is a massive hill so exhausting to be running around it for too long

UltimateUmbreon September 19th, 2016 6:55 AM

Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of places where pokemon spawn around me either, and when they do, they're the common pokemon that appear so frequently, I am sick of even seeing them spawn.

If I had to choose a go to, it probably would be right outside my apartment. It's been VERY rare, but I have seen a squirtle, pikachu, lapras and so I just keep an eye out on my nearby list while at home so I can catch anything interesting that spawns. In the meantime, I've been focusing on just collecting pokecoins by taking over gyms and in doing so I walk enough to hatch plenty of eggs and collect buddy candies, so I feel like it's a good system for what I have available.

VisualJae September 19th, 2016 7:17 PM

In NYC, it's a toss-up between Central Park and Battery Park for me. Central Park is arguably one of the most infamous locations for Pokémon catching as you can literally complete the entire North American Dex by just being there day in and day out... with some luck, of course.

I would lean toward Battery Park simply because of how comfortable it is there. Plus the periodic Dratini spawns there certainly help.

Altaria September 19th, 2016 7:21 PM

There's a park down the street from me that has a pond with a gazebo right beside the water, rock climbing wall, and a ginormous walking track. I can always find Slowpoke, Magikarp, and Psyduck there. I've also caught a few Dratini, Dragonair, and Shellder, so!

Blanche September 19th, 2016 8:30 PM

Perhaps one day we will see more Pokémon diversity in more rural locations.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Do you have your own routines or habits? For instance, do your plan out specific routes to take each day?

Phoenixstarz September 19th, 2016 10:59 PM

ive discovered 7 dratini nests in my town so on my way to the pokestops and gyms i have a route that will will take me close to all of on the way and on the way back.

Spark September 20th, 2016 9:11 PM

We all face challenges every day! So...

QUESTION OF THE DAY

What Pokémon gave you the hardest time when you tried to catch it?

UltimateUmbreon September 21st, 2016 5:38 AM

Dragonite for sure. I usually don't go to ultra balls right away. If it's a rarer pokemon I'll start with a berry and a great ball, with Dragonite I knew better than to do so. I went with an ultra ball and berry every time. It was also so far away, I missed with the ultra ball quite a few times. I used up a total of 18 ultra balls and many berries in catching it.

Phoenixstarz September 21st, 2016 8:47 AM

Snorlax, i used all my ultra and Great balls and Razz berries, was amazed to get it in a pokeball

Oh, I've been there with Dragonite... at least you caught yours!

Candela September 21st, 2016 8:49 PM

I like a good challenge!

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Do you have any goals other than completing the PokéDex?

Phoenixstarz September 21st, 2016 11:10 PM

I intended to build a good team but with gyms being so easy to take down I stopped bothering so much with that, I still put a bit of thought into it for when PvP battles come in but mainly I'm concentrating on my pokedex, I'm aiming to get them all before everyone I know locally. It's definitely going to be close and could come down to lucky hatches/spawnings I'm at 137 and I know people on 129

Poké Bean September 22nd, 2016 12:12 PM

What is the number one Pokémon you're trying to catch right now and how are you handling the challenge?
Pikachu - Hoping to visit a park at the weekend where it apparently spawns a lot! Fingers crossed!

If you could add one feature to Pokémon GO, what would it be and why?
Trading or gifting items! I'm always so short but my brother has to delete so many every day so it would be perfect if he could give them to me instead!

How much time do you think you've spent playing so far?
Ooh I dread to think! Though it's pretty much down to just a few hours a week now if that.

What is your go-to place to search for new Pokémon?
The university is my favourite place for GOing! Can be a lot of the same but quite often new ones will pop up! The park in town is another great place! Other places have been good but not easy to get to regularly.

Do you have your own routines or habits? For instance, do your plan out specific routes to take each day?
Nah just take it as it comes really! If visiting my favourite places though I usually follow the sameish route and sit in the same spots when putting lures on and taking on gyms!

What Pokémon gave you the hardest time when you tried to catch it?
Probably my first Mr. Mime encounter, he was tricksy but got him in the end!

Do you have any goals other than completing the PokéDex?
Collecting all the Pokémon is my main goal but I like to get new medals too!

This is also my goal. I'm still looking for any pokemon I don't have if they pop up of course, but I want all my fully evolved pokemon to be at a high IV and CP. I was looking for >90% IV, but I think I may have to lower that to >80% IV. I would love to be able to take down gyms with any pokemon not just the traditional Dragonite, Vaporeon, Arcanine.

Blanche September 22nd, 2016 8:19 PM

It appears many people are working on building strong teams...

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Which Pokémon do you use for Gym battles?

Phoenixstarz September 23rd, 2016 5:43 AM

Lapras, Vaporeon, Arcanine, Blastoise and Gyarados. those are the ones ive got over 2000CP atm, i desperately want more Grimer candy to get Muk up to that level as well

UltimateUmbreon September 23rd, 2016 11:02 AM

Mine are mostly Vaporeon (I have 5 at ~ 2000 CP or above), Arcanine, Slowbro and Dragonite. Powered up my Jolteon today to take on a mostly water gym, so that will be added to the list. I always like to throw in someone different too, like a Nidoking, Pinsir, etc. Using the same pokemon every time gets boring.

Poké Bean September 23rd, 2016 11:28 AM

Which Pokémon do you use for Gym battles?

Golduck and Hypno are my highest CP so favour them mostly but Seaking, Golbat, Kingler, Fearow and Pidgeot get a look in too. I look forward to getting more variety though!

Lycanroc September 23rd, 2016 12:22 PM

For Gym battles, I mainly use my Vaporeon because even though it's CP isn't good, it's the best I have right now. So yeah, I don't have much success in Gyms. Gotta get me some more of that Stardust.

VisualJae September 23rd, 2016 9:52 PM

I have my S and A-tier Pokémon for most situations... stuff you see in most gyms. Dragonite, Snorlax, Lapras, Vaporeon. Boring!

But I'm trying to work on some high IV Pokémon you see less often. I'm well over 100 Charmander and Jigglypuff candy because one of my more immediate goals is to rock an end-game Charizard and Wigglytuff. Just because :P

Spark September 23rd, 2016 9:55 PM

Whoa, looks like some of you are making real progress on the Gym front! Here's a question I've been really curious about.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

What's the oldest Pokémon you currently own? Is it your original starter you got from Professor Willow? Or something else?

HyperMorian September 23rd, 2016 10:15 PM

"What's the oldest Pokémon you currently own? Is it your original starter you got from Professor Willow? Or something else?"

For me, it would be the Original Starter Bulbasaur from the start of the game; though shamelessly downloading the app through apk. as the game comes first in Australia despite not fully released at that time gave me a vibe of guilt. :/

This Bulbasaur also will never be released, ever.

Poké Bean September 23rd, 2016 11:52 PM

It's surprising how quickly that Stardust can disappear ain't it!
I like seeing different Pokémon left at Gyms too!

What's the oldest Pokémon you currently own? Is it your original starter you got from Professor Willow? Or something else?

Yeah my oldest is my starter too though mine's a Squirtle. He's favourited and shall never be deleted or evolved either, he's my little baby! :)

Phoenixstarz September 24th, 2016 12:01 AM

Vaporeon, which ive had since 9th July. i have kept feeding it stardust and it currently sits at 2083CP
i definately regret transferring my original Charmander though :(

Candela September 24th, 2016 8:27 PM

Aw, yeah, there's definitely sentimental value in your first Pokémon!

There's been lots of updates to Pokémon GO so far, with many new features. But so far none have introduced any new items!

QUESTION OF THE DAY

If you could introduce a new item to the game, what would it be? What will it do?

UltimateUmbreon September 25th, 2016 3:52 PM

I would really love an item that produces more stardust somehow. Stardust runs out so quickly when powering up pokemon and is so difficult to restore that it would be great to have an item that can help restore it more quickly. I haven't given it TOO much thought, but three preliminary ideas I have are:

1. Include double stardust when using a lucky egg. Instead of just doubling XP, double the stardust collected during the time of a lucky egg.

2. Allow your buddy to pick up candies and/or stardust. Maybe stardust is randomly found by your buddy instead of candy? I know that they have said on random occasions your buddy might find some other items, but I have not experienced that thus far.

3. A timed item that grants you a certain amount of stardust for each km walked. So maybe for 15 minutes you get 1000 stardust for very kilometer walked? Obviously the numbers could be tweaked but that would be my new item idea.

Blanche September 26th, 2016 5:26 AM

Here's a broad question...

QUESTION OF THE DAY

What aspect of the game do you want to see improved immediately?

Kotone September 26th, 2016 8:46 AM

I want them to add more pokemon. I feel like I've almost caught everything. Also I want them to fix the tracking.

Spark September 27th, 2016 6:55 AM

My turn again! This gets asked quite a lot, but most people keep it within their own groups.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Between Instinct, Mystic, and Valor, how did you decide on which team to join?

Kotone September 27th, 2016 8:52 AM

I wanted to join team instinct because I like zapdos, but my boyfriend wanted valor. So I am on valor haha.

UltimateUmbreon September 27th, 2016 10:16 AM

What aspect of the game do you want to see improved immediately?

I'm a day late, but I have strong feelings about this one: gyms. It's really frustrating because where I live all the gyms are Mystic, save 2, and they've all been trained up to level 8-10. I go battle gyms but I don't have the time or patience to defeat a gym 8-10 times in order to take it over. And even if I were to do that, due to the lack of Valor members (applies to Instinct too for that matter), the gym I took over would probably be defeated within 30 minutes (not even exaggerating. It makes it feel almost pointless to take on gyms. I'd love a fix to that.

How did you decide which team to join?

Honestly, I chose 100% randomly. Luckily most of my friends also ended up choosing valor, so it all worked out.

VisualJae September 28th, 2016 3:22 AM

I definitely agree with Gyms needing improvement. Then again, I don't want them to rip off too much combat mechanics from the core series games. We'll have to see just how creative they can get.

Candela September 28th, 2016 3:27 AM

Speaking of Gyms...!

QUESTION OF THE DAY

What's the longest time you've controlled a Gym? Tell us how you did it.

UltimateUmbreon September 28th, 2016 5:50 AM

Is your concern with gyms the actual mechanics of battling within them? I agree that is flawed, but for me the bigger frustration is the method by which gyms are trained, taken over, etc.

For today's question:
My longest gym hold was maybe 3-4 days. It's the only time I've been able to hold a gym for over 24 hours. Whenever I see a red gym, I do my best to make sure I train it and add a pokemon in order to try to help the gym stay red for as long as possible. I think it got up to level 6 and it held pretty well because that particular gym (at work) is particularly inactive. If one team makes the commitment to get it up to level 8-10, it would remain that way for weeks probably. We got it up to level 6 and held for a several days.

Kotone September 28th, 2016 8:51 AM

I controlled a gym for a day. The gym was a level 10 gym. Team instinct took it over the next day.

ichiDad September 28th, 2016 3:16 PM

I've had one pokemon in a gym for over two weeks and counting! It is level 9 or 10, when rival teams battle it the bottom pokemon drops out but then someone else brings it back up to level 10. Luckily, my pokemon is one from the top. But it starts to become a battle among team members to get high up in the CP ranking, meanwhile the gym gets stronger and stronger. Right now the lowest CP in the gym is something like 1800 and the highest, 2200.

I think that that if one team has held a gym for a whole week, everyone in the gym should get some "huge extra bonus", then the next day they should all be kicked out and the gym should start fresh. These level 10 gyms just keep getting stronger and stronger, it is difficult for one person to take them down. With several people, it is possible (apparently, rivals aren't teaming up). Right now my 12 highest CP pokemon are all in gyms, makes me weak for taking out big gyms.

UltimateUmbreon September 28th, 2016 5:36 PM

I like this idea. I like taking on gyms, but it completely defeats the purpose when all the gyms are level 8-10 and I unfortunately seem to be in an area with little to no Valor or Instinct players to take on those Mystic gyms. I am not going to sit there at 5 different gyms battling 10 times each (50 battles) to try to take them on. Maybe If it was one gym, but even then it would probably take me a few hours to battle a level 10 gym down just due to the sheer number of pokemon that I would have to battle. If the gyms were reset every week, at least that way a level 10 gym that no one can take down because they're not taking them down as a team, but individually will be reset and it's a fresh start for any team to establish control.

VisualJae September 29th, 2016 3:30 AM

Attaching big bonuses for holding a Gym longer than a period of time, say, a week, would be far easier for places with lower population densities. In urban/big city areas, Gyms last minutes at most, with near impossibility to even level a Gym past 4 or 5 because opposing players will beat it down before you even get to level it enough. Even if a team decides to level a Gym up during hours with low activity, a level 8+ Gym can be taken down within hours of the day... minutes if a group tackles the Gym together.

The highest level Gym I was part of was level 8, and this was about two months ago when few people had Pokémon higher than CP2000. Meanwhile the majority of Pokémon was in that range yet the Gym was trampled in about half an hour. Yesterday evening, on my way back from work, I took down a level 4 Gym by myself using a single CP3000 Dragonite. I then planted a CP2800 Dragonite there and the Gym ended up with a CP2300 Vaporeon as its lowest Pokémon, followed by a CP2400 Snorlax, a CP2400 Exeggutor, my Dragonite, and a CP3100 Dragonite as the leader. Guess how long that Gym lasted before it was taken out?

15 minutes. I wasn't even able to get on my train yet.

The only solution I can think of would be to balance how fast a Gym can be leveled up in comparison to how fast it can be taken down in the current game. Taking down a Gym is by far the easiest process between the two. I can't count how many times I solo level 7+ Gyms in the suburbs. It's just a matter of having stronger Pokémon and a little bit of patience to stomp your way through.

We'll revisit the subject of Gyms another time.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Many of us look for Pokémon near our homes. What's the rarest or most surprising Pokémon that appeared near yours?

Kotone September 29th, 2016 5:07 PM

The most surprising was a snorlax I caught. It was a street over from my house. This has been the only snorlax I have ever seen.

Yeah I suppose it is hard to regulate the gym dynamics because it's so different everywhere. The problem is so starkly opposite here that a level 8-10 gym has held for 1-2 weeks thus far and now 5 out of the 7 gyms in my town are mystic level 8-10, one is valor level 7 and one is a level 3 mystic. Things are pretty static and not changing.

I personally don't have the patience to take down even two of those gyms at a time because it'll just take too long and if I take one out, by the time I come back to that location later that day it's already been trained up by Mystic.

Mine was a Lickitung yesterday! I've never seen one ever, and only once saw it on my nearby. I also got a Lapras right outside my place, but it's one of three I've seen in the wild so I guess not the rarest.

Spark September 30th, 2016 7:59 AM

The Buddy feature has been out for a couple weeks now!

QUESTION OF THE DAY

How far have you traveled with your current Buddy?

I've got 60km with Growlithe, and I've already switched buddies twice. For the first day it was Dratini, but somehow my Dratini candies weren't going up?

Kotone September 30th, 2016 6:03 PM

i have traveled with ponyta for 33.8 km!

UltimateUmbreon September 30th, 2016 6:53 PM

21.8 with Abra! Much more before that with others!

Miau October 1st, 2016 2:20 AM

My current buddy is Exeggcute, trying to get enough candies to evolve. Right now sitting on 7.3km walked.

VisualJae October 1st, 2016 11:37 AM

Thanks for all the participation so far!

Questions will be on hold until I get back from my Europe trip.

Candela October 4th, 2016 8:13 PM

And we're back! Every trainer should aspire to travel across the land, searching far and wide.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

When you visit a PokéStop, do you stop and take a look at the place of interest?

Yes! Especially if the pokestop is some place I've been but never noticed. It's surprising how many sculptures and plaques I've walked or biked past and never noticed.

In a few cases I've been unable to find the object in the photograph for the pokestop.

UltimateUmbreon October 5th, 2016 8:06 AM

Yeah, unless I'm in a huge rush for some reason, I always check out the pokestop landmark. It's always interesting me the places that have been chosen for pokestops. And some locations, like parks, schools, etc that I think very easily could have been pokestops but aren't. I think it would be great if there was more information in the app or linked in the app about the pokestop.

Yep, I can relate. I even discovered a small park/playground a few blocks from my house that I never knew existed. How could that happen?

Blanche October 5th, 2016 8:05 PM

On our journeys we all develop a special attachment to our Pokémon.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Which Pokémon did you mark as favorites? Do you favor any Pokémon that you didn't mark? Why?

UltimateUmbreon October 6th, 2016 2:10 PM

I don't have any marked as my favorites, although when it gets close to lucky egg evolution time, I do mark pokemon I want to make sure to evolve as favorites to make them easier to find.

Spark October 7th, 2016 3:38 AM

Good morning! (From over here, at least)

QUESTION OF THE DAY

If you could make your home a PokéStop or a Gym, which one would you pick?

Sheep October 8th, 2016 11:29 AM

If you could make your home a PokéStop or a Gym, which one would you pick?

Pokéstop! With a gym there are more chances of people just sitting around and spending tons of time battling, which is awkward. At least for a pokéstop you click to get the items and (usually) leave right after. Usually. <_<

Altairis October 8th, 2016 11:33 AM

I already have a Pokestop in my back yard that I can sometimes get in my house... can I have another one? :)

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Check your Jogger medal! How far have you walked so far?

Sheep October 8th, 2016 12:49 PM

Check your Jogger medal! How far have you walked so far?

249.55km.. not very much. I try to take the game with me each time I go somewhere, but since I need my battery life I sometimes have to pass up on it! lol

Altairis October 8th, 2016 2:20 PM

41.88 km. Not very far, I know, I keep forgetting to open the game when I walk places :(

Blanche October 9th, 2016 11:08 AM

Going the extra distance is an achievement of its own.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

What is your proudest achievement in Pokémon GO so far?

UltimateUmbreon October 10th, 2016 7:52 AM

My proudest achievement is probably just getting to level 27. I started playing a few days late and for the first couple weeks didn't play much because I wasn't a huge fan of the game during the beta test. I thought the game was so impractical because you can't play while you're driving and I was either at work, at home, or driving. Then I realized that was the whole point. Getting out of the house just to get out and explore, so I started doing that and played and I think I've made up for lost time quite well.

Sheep October 10th, 2016 9:08 AM

What is your proudest achievement in Pokémon GO so far?

Hatching a Charmander from my 2km egg a few days ago. My luck in this game has been SO bad and I can't think of much else. If you count cool sightings I never actually found, then spotting Dragonite and Electabuzz.. but I didn't get any of those. D: <

ichiDad October 10th, 2016 2:16 PM

Frankly, I'm not terribly proud of anything I've achieved in this game. It's fun, but just a game.

As a physicist, I find the game an interesting example of a parallel universe!

Spark October 10th, 2016 5:20 PM

Hot topic alert! Generation II stuff.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Are you making preparations for the hopefully eventual release of Generation II Pokémon? If so, what are your plans?

Altairis October 10th, 2016 10:48 PM

Hmmm... not really! I mean, sort of. I like to keep one Pokemon of every evolution, so I save a few in case I'm going to evolve some into generation 2 Pokemon. I also catch everything I see that has a future evolution, like Onix, so that I'll be able to evolve them sooner :)

Sheep October 11th, 2016 4:18 PM

Are you making preparations for the hopefully eventual release of Generation II Pokémon? If so, what are your plans?

Not much.. I just catch things as I normally would without gen II in my thoughts. I am happy having a hefty bit of Scyther candy though, since Scizor's coming out at some point in the near future. Always nice knowing I've been collecting.

Yep, I'm doing this as well. Hoarding a ton of Poliwag candy for Politoed, Oddish candy for Bellossom, Chansey candy for Blissey, etc.

I'm closing in on 600 Eevee candies...

Candela October 11th, 2016 6:44 PM

Let's talk trading!

QUESTION OF THE DAY

There are many ways players can potentially trade in the future. What would your ideal trading system look like?

Sheep October 12th, 2016 11:22 AM

For fairness' sake I'd like it if you could only trade with nearby players. Would completely defeat the point of the game if you could trade with anyone across the world like in main series Pokémon games, though I doubt Niantic would do that haha. Makes it too easy. Maybe put a daily/weekly limit on trading so people don't quickly fill their dex by trading with someone who has mostly everything already? We'd need some sort of limit at the very least or I can see this game becoming too easy for many people given that collecting's the main point.

I get your concerns, but it also almost defeats the purpose of trading by only allowing it with nearby players, right? The pokemon I would most want to trade for are those I do not yet have, namely the regional exclusives. If I can't trade with someone for a Mr. Mime, Farfetch'd, or Kangaskhan, I will never ever ever get one. Is there a chance that someone near me has one? Sure, but what are the odds they're going to want to trade it with me given that I live in America and they probably don't have enough to the point where they'd be willing to trade one.

I would like to see as you mention some sort of limit to trading, though. I don't want it to be so easy for me to access the pokemon I need. If I can only do a limited number of trades, or a limited number of trades for the pokemon I need, or if it costs something to trade, or something along those lines, it would make me think about trading wisely.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Do you play with sound/music on or off?

UltimateUmbreon October 13th, 2016 7:18 AM

I play with sound/music off. I usually have spotify open while I play...gotta get ready for a few concerts next month!

Spark October 14th, 2016 6:39 PM

New update means new questions!

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Have you noticed any increased success with catching Pokémon now that medals affect catch rates?

VisualJae October 15th, 2016 7:34 PM

I personally noticed a higher success rate with starter Pokémon as I haven't had a single one escape from me since the update.

Could just be luck, of course ;)

Candela October 15th, 2016 7:36 PM

QUESTION OF THE DAY

In any given day, when do you usually play Pokémon GO?

MizEileen October 15th, 2016 10:36 PM

I play during my commute to and from work and when I run errands on Sunday.

VisualJae October 17th, 2016 6:45 PM

Thank you to everyone who have participated in this activity!

I will no longer be maintaining this thread as it's a little too much work for me to keep track of each day. If someone would like to continue this activity, let me know via PM and I can arrange something.

Sheep October 18th, 2016 11:18 AM

In any given day, when do you usually play Pokémon GO?

It's hard to say. Almost always when I go out unless I need to preserve battery, so it can be during the day when I'm out for interviews or other tasks, or at night when I hang out with little brother to play. So it's extremely varied.

Bummer you can't maintain it anymore. =( I did think a question a day was too much though. Tiring to think of topics and remember posting them each day. Weekly might've been less exhausting?

Jonathan1990 October 21st, 2016 1:13 PM

Does anyone on here from America have Mr Mime like I do but I'm from the UK?
