THIRTY-SIX November 23rd, 2005 11:03 AM

answer
well i had
fereligator
flaffy
noctowl
espeon
umbreon
slugma until entei

question
now i was wondering whats the best 44 pokemon including 8 shadow pokemon i should use to purifiy lugia, bearing in mind that i have already purified all shadow pokemon up to togepi Pokémon XD - Pokémon

Synchronize November 23rd, 2005 1:13 PM

Some of these questions don't have an answer. There is no "best team" to use in colosseum. It all depends on how you play and how you can balance your team, and the game creates various ways for you to do that. And the best 44 pokemon to purify Lugia, you just have to experiment time and time again until you get it right.

THIRTY-SIX November 23rd, 2005 1:15 PM

so you have to have 8 other shadow pokemon to purify?
and each shadow mon has to be a 4x effectiveness on the secelted purified pokemon?
to max out the tempo

Synchronize November 23rd, 2005 1:33 PM

no. Here's a good example:

Swellow (Facing Exeggutor)

Exeggutor
Dugtrio
Electabuzz
Spheal

In a cirlce like that. Swellow is facing Eggy because Flying > Grass. Eggy pointing towards Duggie because Grass > Ground. Duggie facing Buzz because Ground > Electric. Spheal facing Eggy because Ice > Grass. See how it works? Also, there cant be two pokemon of the same type in a set, otherwise the Flow goes back to regular. Accomplishing a set like this makes, iirc, a "Best Circle". As the number of "Best Circles" you have increases, the Flow in all the sets will increase too, assuming they have Best Circles as well.

THIRTY-SIX November 23rd, 2005 1:38 PM

ooooooh ok now i see
so having a
roselita
gligar
elekid
zubat

thats not a "best circle" because gligar and zubat are both flying types ok ill go edit that pokemon
so only lugia can be left alone? without 8 other pokemon?

Synchronize November 23rd, 2005 1:46 PM

Lugia has to be around pokemon as well, irrc. btw, not only Are Gligar and Zubat flying types, but Roselia and Zubat are poison. Also, the Shadow pokemon cant be the same type as the other pokemon either. And you have to have Best Circles in all 9 sets to purify lugia.

THIRTY-SIX November 23rd, 2005 1:48 PM

sorry i meant the only shadow pokemon?
and thanks for the help :D

Synchronize November 23rd, 2005 1:58 PM

Nope, even lugia has to be around pogeymon iirc

THIRTY-SIX November 23rd, 2005 2:00 PM

no i meant the only shadow pokemon in a circle, meaning lugia is the only one left to purify?

Synchronize November 23rd, 2005 2:16 PM

ya lost me there.... I'll try to explain to the best of my understanding of your questions:

Lugia must be in one of the sets. All 9 sets have to be "Best Circles" for Lugia to be purified, including the one Lugia is in. Once that is accomplished, it will say "Something's different with Lugia.....Maybe....." or something like that. Then once you stop editing the sets, it will take you to the set with Lugia in it. Press A and its purified.

THIRTY-SIX November 23rd, 2005 2:21 PM

say lugia was the last pokemon i had to purify, would i still be aqble to or do i have to dump 8 other shadow pokemon and walk around?
or does lugia purify straight away after "fddling" with the sets

Synchronize November 23rd, 2005 5:06 PM

straight after. Look at it like this:

If the shadow pokemon are purified, then there is no best circle, which you need for all the sets.

If that confused you anymore, then just straight after fiddling with sets

Forci Stikane November 26th, 2005 11:08 AM

...Ok, let's put it this way:

All of the other circles can have no Shadow Pokemon (meaning Lugia is the only one) and Lugia will still be purified, as long as they are all at perfect tempo.

Oh, BTW, for the sake of purifying Lugia, you CAN have more than one Pokemon of the same type in a circle as long as there's a perfect tempo (Shoot, I had a circle with 4 Normal-types and it still worked).

Synchronize December 3rd, 2005 4:38 PM

I see.....what I was looking at was how the Extra Flow would purify other pokemon faster. Still what I mentioned was a good thing to do for the other Shadow Pokemon =/.

THIRTY-SIX December 5th, 2005 1:10 PM

ok new question....
i beat the game but what exactly do i get from catching mulchanx and bonsly? is the gift any good?
if it is ill start the game over after i catch them.....

Forci Stikane December 6th, 2005 2:07 PM

You can't "catch" them...the best you do is find them at Pokespots...Finding Munchlax gives you 10 more PokeSnacks and a random herbal item, and finding Bonsly & returning him gets you a special Bingo Card for Realgam Tower.

Synchronize December 11th, 2005 3:44 PM

Finding Munchlax also opens the old lady up for Herb selling business.

no1nose December 22nd, 2005 9:15 PM

how can my pokemon get a high happines and where i can check this stat

Lord Jaws December 22nd, 2005 10:33 PM

FR/LG/R/S Happiness- Feed them lots of expensive stuff like Protein and Carbos if you are rich. Dont let them faint in battle either, they makes them dislike you. Other than that, just be a good trainer and they eventually like you.

To check (FR/LG Only)- Fly home, then go to Garys house. Talk to his sister, and she will offer to groom your pokemon (once a day). Anytime after that, talking to her will tell you how much your lead pokemon likes you.

no1nose December 24th, 2005 12:29 PM

how can i get more pokefood for the pokespot?

THIRTY-SIX December 24th, 2005 12:34 PM

go to the pokemart in agate village =D

Synchronize December 25th, 2005 1:48 PM

Finding that munchlax at Poke Spots also gets you 10 free poke snacks.

Eirikr December 25th, 2005 11:32 PM

This may be a dumb Q, but I just got up to were my snag machine got stolen(I dont play that much) I know I get another chance to get Shadow Zangoose, but how bout Shadow Nosepass? Thank you

DarkThunder December 26th, 2005 10:04 AM

You get another chance to snag Nosepass.I saw it at Tower Colosseum(might be a different Colosseum in your game).Unfortunatly my pokemon were all over Lv.45 including XD001(Lv.50 when I caught it) at that time.

Heh, your daughter's quite the hassle when it comes to pokemon. If you need constant help, there are strategy guides you may buy at stores, as well as FAQs and Guides online, such as at gamefaqs.com

But as for this question, to exit from Gateon Port, there are a set of stairs due south of the Port. Go there and keep running and u'll exit.

I'm not a moderator actually. And I was actually just trying to help you save time. You're free to post questions and all, but I'm just saying, it might be easier for a few individuals to find guides online.

If you're referring to when Bonsley is on the ship, you can't sneak up on it, it just runs away. Later on you'll find it in a Poke Spot where you leave some Poke Snacks. I'm not sure if you HAVE to sneak up on it, but to be safe, walk up slowly to it when you find it at a Poke Spot.

Q1: No they don't, iirc.
Q2: Once the Robo Kyogre is built (you'll have to talk to Makan inside the Parts Shop at Gateon Port), exit the building and you'll get an email from Prof. Krane, telling you to come to Pokemon HQ. Talk to him and he'll lead you to a basement where you'll find the Master Ball.
Q3: Go see Emili's mother at Gateon Port, who's house is next to the Parts Shop:

I could use some help here.

I am having trouble transferring my pokemon from Silver to XD. My Silver game contains pokemon from Red, Blue, Gold, and Silver. I do not want to lose my 3 Mewtwo's and other uniques. I tried to transfer them to my Ruby game, but without success. Is it just not possible? Am I missing something?

Input would be appreciated.

I wonder why it's not working? IS IT BECAUSE RBYGSC AREN'T SUPPORTED WITH FRLGRSE?

Sorry for the harsh thing mate. You should've worked out the original 6, unfortunately, aren't supported. :\ Have to get them ye olde fashioned way. Well new fashion any how. :p

Synchronize January 23rd, 2006 10:33 AM

The "New Fashioned" way is to trade pokemon over from the Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen versions. You can also trade pokemon over from Pokemon Colosseum to any of those versions THEN trade over to Pokemon XD. But just to make sure you're clear on this, Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD DO NOT support Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold, or Crystal.

Another crap move by Nintendo. People would've loved it if you could've traded between the old and new 6. :/

That'd make it too easy IMO, especially with that Rare Candy cheat in RBY to trade a lvl 100 Charizard or something over to XD. Besides, the GCN and GBA had so many changes, I assume, that there would be too many problems connecting from GBC to GCN.

PokeSmurf January 24th, 2006 2:24 PM

Who said anything about that? Besides, the only way you'd be able to get away with it is putting the cartridge in the GBA.

I was just saying. Besides I was simply pointing out that there were too many changes between the GBC/N64 generation and the GBA/GCN generation that too many problems would arise in trading through GBC to GCN or GBA.

H i k a r i January 26th, 2006 5:56 PM

I hope this question fits in this thread, guess i'll just see if anyone answers.

I am stuck fast on one of the Battle CD's in XD. I think its number 47, but I may be wrong. Anyway, its the one where you have Latios and Latias, without the Soul Dew, and your versing Lugia and Ho oh. HOW HOW HOW DO YOU BEAT THE STUPID THING???????? I have tried so many times I lost count long ago, and still I am stuck. Can anyone help me? How do I beat it?

Synchronize January 26th, 2006 6:04 PM

To tell the truth, I beat it out of luck. I was fortunate enough to parahax both Lugia and Ho-Oh for a KO. Sorry I couldn't help too much, but if I find any info a little later on, I'll report back here.

What does parahax mean O_o?? Oh, and what strategy did you use to beat it out of luck, even? If I try it, maybe I will get lucky...*sighs*

Synchronize January 26th, 2006 6:21 PM

parahax means that your opponent can't move because of the paralysis effect. And Luck is luck, not strategy. Can you give me the Latios and LAtias movesets? Maybe I can figure something out.

Wow...im at the library, so I'll have to do this from memory O_o...
Latias had...Helping Hand, Psycic...um, thunderbolt and I cant remember the other. Latios had Dragon Claw, Psycic, Memento and I forget the other.

Im not stupid XD I know LUCK isnt a strategy. What I meant was, if I knew the moves you used and got lucky with, I could just try the same moves in case I got lucky too. Unlikely, yes, but im starting to get desperate. I have beaten nearly all the CD's but thus one and I tell you what, im about to scream...

Synchronize January 26th, 2006 6:29 PM

lol, then you'll scream when I tell you that you'll get 15,000 PokeCoupons through beating all the CDs >_>. Obviously I used Thunderbolt, seeing as that's the only move I see there that can cause paralysis. Maybe Try a few Helping Hand Thunderbolts. I'll go give a visit to my gamecube

Latias is the only one who knows Helping Hand and also the only one who knows thunderbolt. And according to my guide, helping hand only raises Attack, not Sp.attack so only Dragon Claw on Latios would benifit >_>.

I knew the Poke Coupon thing :'( my guide says as much...and the only clue as to beating the flippin thing is "use combo moves". How very helpful :tired:

Whatever guide that was is dumb. Helping Hand raises the power of all offensive moves of your partner, otherwise it wouldn't be much of a 2v2 move IMO. And even if it did work on only Attack, Dragon Claw is a Special Attack .-. If no one helps ya on this, I'll try to get an answer in as soon as possible, but my time is limited, and I actually have an afterschool life now =/

Ok, here's the solution I found while using Battle CD 48 Side B. There was no hax (paralysis, freeze, critical hit, etc):

1) Lugia uses Icy Wind, so Have Latios used Protect and Latias use Thunderbolt against Ho-Oh
2) Have Latios use Psychic on Ho-Oh, and Latias use Thunderbolt on Ho-Oh.
3) Finish Ho-Oh off with Latios and have Latias use Recover.
4) Have Latios use Memento on Lugia, and have Latias use Recover.
5) Use Thunderbolt on Lugia.
6) Have Latias use Recover when it will be KOd on the next turn.
7) Repeat until Lugia raints from Thunderbolt.

Keep in mind that Lugia and Ho-Oh sometimes switch targets, in which case they mostly attacked my Latios when I used Protect. Still this is a decent way to be the Battle CD. Try and tell me how it goes.

PokeSmurf January 28th, 2006 6:56 PM

I went back and won in a slightly different way than Synch.

Round 1: Use thunderbolt on Lugia and use protect
Round 2: Use recover and Dragonclaw on Lugia
Round 3: Use thunderbolt on Lugia and use Protect
Round 4: Use recover and Dragonclaw on Lugia
Round 5: Use Protect and thundbolt on Ho-Oh
Round 6: Use recover and Psychic on Ho-Oh
Round 7: Use thunderbolt and Psychic on Ho-Oh
Victory

Synchronize January 29th, 2006 11:21 AM

Intersting. I'm surprised Ho-Oh didn't hax anyone.

When can i start trading pokemon from my ruby and saphire versions on pokemon XD? also, is it possible to do so with LG/FR and Emerald?

trjessie579 February 9th, 2006 10:11 AM

You can trade between XD and ANY of the 3rd generation games (R/S/E/FR/LG).

You won't be able to trade until you've beaten Grand Master Greevil at the end of the game. After that, the trade center in Phenac's Pokemon Center will open and you can trade to the GBA games, provided the Pokemon you are trading have been purified.

grandmaster192 February 13th, 2006 12:47 AM

Do gotta do anything extra on the gameboy games to trade? Also where do you find a wooper?

trjessie579 February 13th, 2006 2:40 PM

Not on R/S, but on FR/LG you need to beat the E4, obtain the National Dex, and fix Celio's Network Machine; on Emerald you just need to beat the E4 and obtain the National Dex.

Wooper can be found in XD at the Cave Pokespot sometimes, but it's one of the rarer ones to show up.

1. Yes, you can.

2. It has a stadium mode, but it isn't like in Colosseum. Instead, the only have a linked battle mode for vs your friends, and a quick battle mode, instead of the various stadiums that you could defeat. The only thing close is the Orre Colosseum within the Story Mode. I wish I could explain it better, but in the mean time, just ask if you need me to explain again.

Neither Colosseum or XD allow you to play GBA versions of the game. Stadium 2 can, but I've forgotten if the speed option is there or not. Pokemon Box can let your play Ruby or Sapphire versions, but again dunno about the speed.

I dunno. There's always eBay. I happened to find a copy in a second-hand copy of Colosseum. Two games in one = bargain. Besides, with the amount of breeding I do I kinda need Box.

i keep reading a lot of different ways to get Ho-oh in colosseum. i know i have to purify all the shadow pokemon, but does it matter if i use pokemon that i traded from R/S? and is it true that if i use the Time Flute i won't be able to get Ho-oh?

it seems too hard to win 100 battles against lvl 100 pokemon using only my pokemon from story mode

Toothache March 30th, 2006 1:51 AM

Getting Ho-oh isn't as hard as you've been led to believe. You can use either your Colosseum Pokemon or a GBA team. First thing to do is purify all 48 Shadow Pokemon. Either way, register the team (using a different held item for each), and select Mt Battle Challenge. Single or Double mode doesn't matter. Then just battle your way through the 100 battles, bearing in mind for each perfect victory you get a continue. Which is helpful, because they are not shy against using legendary and uber Pokemon. My Colosseum team usually consists of Espeon, Umbreon, Suicune, Raikou and Entei, plus a filler or supporting Pokemon (get your Vibrava to evolve and give it the Earthquake TM for a good suggestion). All the Pokemon you face are at the highest level of your own Pokemon, but at least L50 (so if your highest level Pokemon was 80, all the Pokemon you face will be L80, even if the rest of your team is not). Besides, it's really easy to level up in Colosseum, so level imbalance shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I really need help purifying Rugia

:t003:Dark Venusaur

Fl0W:HHGURU April 9th, 2006 4:26 PM

To my evil twin:To purify Lugia you need to have a pokemon in every slot in every set :)

trjessie579 April 9th, 2006 10:08 PM

It's actually not as simple as that--you need max tempo in all rooms of the chamber. This means that all of the Pokemon in each room need type advantages over one another in the circle.

An example of Pokemon that you can catch in the game would be:

Spinarak -> Houndour -> Mawile -> Lunatone

Bug is Super Effective against Dark, Fire against Steel, Steel against Rock, Rock against Bug. As long as one type of one Pokemon is Super Effective against one type of the Pokemon after it in the circle, it counts.

You have to do this in every room, then put Lugia in the middle of any one of the rooms and it will instantly be purified.

BTW, if you live in the UK and want a Jirachi, get Pokemon Channel and complete it, you will be given the option to download a Jirachi to a GBA. Only works in the European version though :-)

Can the Ho-oh u get from Pokemon Colosseum be shiny?

And if u see a shadow pokemon and it is shiny, will u be able to tell it is shiny when it comes out of the pokeball? Or will u have to catch it, then view its summary to see if it is shiny?

Pika_blue May 9th, 2006 12:00 PM

In XD, are the Odds still the same for encountering a shiny wild, and can you also catch shiney shadows, and also, can Lugia be shiney? And yes, i like shineys, I put them in my sig, I own 3 and one I did own.
