Create a Poké Ball

Okay, let's do something creative! If you were to add one new type of Poké Ball to the games, what would it be? What would its effect be, what would it be called, what would it look like, etc.

Name:
Appearance:
Effect:

Here are a few I came up with.
Name: Status Ball
Appearance: Black and white, with a spiral pattern that makes the viewer feel dizzy
Effect: Increased effectiveness on Pokémon with a status condition.

Name: Inverse Ball
Appearance: Dull red-brown with no design
Effect: Increased effectiveness on Pokémon who has a type advantage against the player's Pokémon

Lunar October 2nd, 2016 3:46 AM

I'll carry on the theme of the trainer I made with the Lunar and Solar themes haha.

Name: Lunar Ball
Appearance: A black Pokeball with a white moon on it.
Effect: Increased effectiveness when used at night.

Name: Solar Ball
Appearance: A white Pokeball with an orange sun on it.
Effect: Increased effectiveness when used in daytime.

Qibli October 2nd, 2016 4:12 AM

Name: Evo Ball
Appearance: Yellow on the top and Purple on the bottom
Effect: Increase catch rate greatly when catching a pokemon that evolved from any evolution stone

Name: Link Ball
Appearance: It's like netball, but greener
Effect: Increase effectiveness when catching any pokemon that evolve thru trading (held/non-held items)

AliceBlaze October 2nd, 2016 4:53 AM

Name: Shiny Ball
Appearance: Red with a yellow star on top.
Effect: Has a 100% catch rate on shiny Pokemon. Changes any non-shiny Pokemon it catches into a shiny. Just like the Master Ball, only one would be obtainable per game.

Name: Magnet Ball
Appearance: Silver with a magnet sticking out on top.
Effect: Increased catch rate on steel and electric types.

Name: Magic Ball
Appearance: Purple on top and pink at the bottom.
Effect: Increased catch rate on dragon types.

Name: Vacuum Ball
Appearance: Dark purple
Effect: Increased catch rate on ghost types.

Name: Mega Ball
Appearance: Has the mega evolution symbol on top.
Effect: Increased catch rate on Pokemon that can mega evolve or their pre-evolutions.

Isn't this already the Dusk Ball's effect?

gimmepie October 2nd, 2016 7:53 AM

Name: Awesome Ball
Appearance: It looks just like a normal PokeBall
Effect: It works just a like a normal PokeBall but it's cooler than yours.

Ky0greK1ng October 2nd, 2016 9:59 AM

Name: Power Ball
Appearance: The top is a dull blue color, with a brown fist painted on it. Of course, the bottom is white.
Effect: Has a normal catch rate, but the Pokemon caught will have an extra point in its 'attack' stat! This effect would stack with IVs, EVs, and so on.

I think it'd be cool if all balls did something like this... The Quick Ball could increase the speed stat, the Heavy Ball could increase the defense stat, and so on.

Mister Coffee October 2nd, 2016 11:14 AM

Name: Feather Weight Ball
Appearance: The bottom of the ball is pink and the top half of the ball is a cream color with a puffy looking cloud design on the front.
Effect: This pokeball has the exact opposite effect of the "Heavy Ball", it works significantly better on pokemon that are light in weight.

Name: Wild Ball
Appearance: The ball is completely green in appearance and has a pattern of leaves surrounding the top half of it.
Effect: This ball operates on the same catch rate mechanics of the "Dive Ball", however instead of needing to be within a water environment, it operates in a grass covered environment.

Name: Desert Ball
Appearance: The ball is completely tan in appearance and has a pattern of yellow grains of sand surrounding the top half of it.
Effect: This ball operates on the same catch rate mechanics of the "Dive Ball", however instead of needing to be within a water environment, it operates in a desert covered environment.

Name: Frigid Ball
Appearance: The ball is completely white in appearance and has a pattern of blue snow flakes surrounding the top half of it.
Effect: This ball operates on the same catch rate mechanics of the "Dive Ball", however instead of needing to be within a water environment, it operates in a snow covered environment.

Name: Scorch Ball
Appearance: The ball is completely red in appearance and has a pattern of orange flames surrounding the top half of it.
Effect: This ball operates on the same catch rate mechanics of the "Dive Ball", however instead of needing to be within a water environment, it operates in a fire and/or volcanic covered environment.

Name: Cloud Ball
Appearance: The ball is completely light blue in appearance and has a pattern of silver clouds surrounding the top half of it.
Effect: This ball operates on the same catch rate mechanics of the "Dive Ball", however instead of needing to be within a water environment, it operates in the sky battle environment.

Name: Share Ball
Appearance: The ball is completely black but has a yellow equal (=) sign on the top, bottom, and front of the ball.
Effect: This ball has an increased catch rate against pokemon that are the same type as the pokemon you are using against it.

I looked and no one said it

Name: Horde Ball (Or maybe Precision Ball)
Appearance: Yellow and white stripes
Effect: Can be used at any point during a Horde Encounter, it has high precision so you can aim correctly. But it doesn't have a 100% catch rate.

Maybe you can only get it after you become champion or maybe there's only one or two available. Though if it was rare then maybe it should have a 100% catch rate.

Knyte October 2nd, 2016 4:10 PM

Name: (Color)Gift Ball
Appearance: Looks like a regular Pokéball but has a white ribbon around it. (For white gift ball)
Effect: The Pokémon caught cannot be used by the trainer who caught it. It can be sent to a trainer as a gift in Mystery gift. Once sent, the ribbon is untied and becomes an accessory on the Pokémon sent (much like dressing it up only with a ribbon)(or even just a regular ribbon on the Pokémon Ribbon Section)
(Rebellious Pokémon but has stronger Return moves once fully befriended)

Name: Wonder Ball
Appearance: Star design on top of the button (much like master ball but the M replaced with the star) With a Blue-and-Yellow striped combination on top with a white still on the bottom.
Effect: Almost like the GTS, the Pokémon caught with this ball is placed inside the Wonder Box until a Wonder Trade is made. (Again unusable by the trainer who caught it)

It just seemed weird we can receive Pokémon from other in game NPCs but we can't do it ourselves. :)

Flowerchild November 2nd, 2016 8:14 PM

Name: Nightmare Ball
Appearance: A purple Poké Ball with a black pattern on it.
Effect: Has very high catch rate, but puts the caught Pokémon to sleep and lowers its happiness.

Mawa November 2nd, 2016 8:48 PM

Name: Luxury Ball (Personalized )
Appearance: Like a luxury ball (the best looking imo), but you can choose the color! Like you can buy a regular one, a blue one, pink one, yellow, light green, etc. Or maybe a Pokeball that adapt the color of the pokemon that's inside? (the ditto pokeball or the keckelon pokeball?)
Effect: Nohing particular as it is a luxury ball.

.. I know I am a simple girl.

VisionofMilotic November 16th, 2016 9:32 AM
