South Park: The Fractured But Whole
System: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC Developer: Ubisoft

Cartman is determined to turn Coon and Friends into the biggest superhero franchise of all time. Every hero has a beginning. Are you an alien, a high-tech wonder, or a genetically altered mutant? Create your own one-of-a-kind costume, craft your origin story, and build out your unique superpowers to become the hero this city needs. Not only has South Park grown with new places to explore and new characters to discover, but when the sun sets, havoc and chaos reign as the seedy underbelly of South Park comes alive. At night, a whole new world opens up where your alter ego can harness its powers to do whatever it takes to save the town.

Recruit up to 13 members of Coon and Friends to your cause, including Mysterion, The Human Kite, and the infamous Coon himself. Combine your special powers with the heroes from Coon and Friends to eliminate anyone that gets in your way and defeat the dark power that has spread its evil tentacles over South Park. An all-new dynamic combat system offers new opportunities to manipulate time and space on the battlefield, and a revamped looting and crafting system gives you the freedom to develop and refine your powers as you progress through the game. Find loot hidden throughout the land and follow recipes to craft your own outrageous equipment to aid you in battle.

"South Park: The Fractured But Whole" will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC - early 2017.

How do you overall feel about this game? Did you play the first South Park game in South Park: The Stick Of Truth? What were some elements of the game you did like/didn't like? Is there anything you would like to see incorporated in this sequel? What about left out? Is this something you would pick up if it was available on your system? Give us your thoughts on the game through your comments below

I'm sorry but I had to vote "No." Until Ubisoft sells it to a respectable company. Till then I'm more than sure it's going to be a half-assed (teehee) pre-order grab that doesn't live up to it's promises just like every other Ubisoft game.

Though I have no problem with the concept or anything. I enjoyed SOT very much when that came out.

Unfortunately just polarized by Ubisoft's game tactics of the past few years, otherwise it would be an obvious buy...

Absolutely! I really enjoyed Stick of Truth - sure, the gameplay's not amazing but it was a solid enough and entertaining turn-based RPG for me. And let's be real, most people who get these games are just fans of South Park who are there for the story and characters, and I thought they did a really good job with that; none of the jokes and dialogue felt out of place or awkward, it was all very true to South Park.

My only complaint was that I wished there was more of it - it was a pretty short and linear campaign, would be cool if they add more side quests and things to do, maybe some post-game content.

Let's be honest and admit that all it needed was to be funny and feel like South Park. cx

Pretty much, yeah. :P But that was apparently a tall order until recently - the four South Park games preceding Stick of Truth just sucked, not just in terms of gameplay but the humor wasn't quite there either. So it was nice when they finally did it right, haha.

ohmygoD WHAT TAKE MY MONEY

...or at least, that's what I'd probably be saying if that wasn't one of the worst bits of video game advertising I've ever seen. Like, if you hadn't told me, I'd not have even been able to guess that it was a game -- let alone figuring out what sort of game it is.

That aside, I quite enjoyed Stick of Truth. I'll wait until there's more information on this one before I resign myself to anything.

Don't know if this helps, but at Gamescom this year they did showcase 15 minutes of gameplay. You can skip the first few minutes of dialogue, but it does give a glimpse as to the games happenstances.

I mean, it's nothing new. If you enjoyed the original fine then you'll probably enjoy this one for the same reasons. After all, Ubisoft's always been pretty shit and their games have taken a hit for it for at least half a decade now- well, noticeably. But most of their obvious scumminess started probably back when they realized how profitable various franchises they were producing were.

Hell, it's amazing to think that their PC DRM was actually worse at a time. I remember the early days of it...*shivers*
