These Leakers are getting ridiculous

The Game is due next week and leakers somehow got their hands on the game, and what do they do? leak information of course! i never saw any of them because i still want the game and i want to go in unspoiled. come on, this isn't fair to you, to me or anybody.

Karous November 8th, 2016 1:44 AM

Who cares. No one complained like this when JPN and international releases were months apart. Simultaneous international release was only a thing since X&Y. No one complains when sites like Serebii have frequently broken street date getting "early" copies a few days early. It's not the end of the world.

L'Belle November 8th, 2016 2:03 AM

Why shouldn't they be able to leak? If you don't want spoilers, just don't look at the leaks

This is debatable, when everyone is putting leaks on the thumbnails/titles of videos in YT and FB it's kind of impossible to avoid some spoilers whether you want to see them or not.
This is not the leakers fault however, but people blatantly posting spoilers without warnings.

Iceshadow3317 November 8th, 2016 6:02 AM

That is the way of the world. Hell people leak entire scripts of movies and shows. Games are no different.

We warned people 2 or 3 weeks ago to avoid pokemon related stuff. That is the way of the internet. You have to learn to avoid stuff.

And most people don't even care. If you really don't want to be spoiled, stay of the internet or pokemon related stuff.

MegaKuriboh November 8th, 2016 1:25 PM

It really annoys me too, just like how much of the game got leaked through the Demo datamine as well, but really it wouldn't be bad if everyone and their mothers on Youtube, Tumblr and Facebook posted these spoilers everywhere. Really, though all I really don't want to see are story spoilers, but it did upset me to know all of the Alola forms and Pokemon before hand (even if it's mostly TPCi's fault for showing like 90% of the dex beforehand)

clbgolden November 8th, 2016 1:28 PM

I'm honestly surprised at the comments of this thread. These leaks aren't just bad because they're telling us EVERYTHING, but because they're literally illegal. The street date shouldn't have been broken in the first place, and the ROM should've never been leaked either. All these leaks are just straight-up disrespectful to the devs and creators.

Not to mention, anyone who wants to avoid leaks is gonna have a super hard time doing so. Completely abondoning the internet for ten days is easier said than done.

Green Pidgeot November 8th, 2016 1:56 PM

If you want to avoid spoilrs, don't use the internet. This is mostly data put out there by the game, it's hardly Wikileaks.

Degurchaff November 8th, 2016 2:00 PM

If you don't like them leaking stuff about Pokemon sun and moon just ignore it And do something else with your time.

Serebii had this take earlier this morning and I just laughed. Part of me thinks he isn't pissed because it's illegal, but because he can't report on it without his site being taken down. So he suddenly isn't the go-to source for Pokemon news.

blue November 8th, 2016 2:12 PM

The thing that surprises me the most is how early the leaker has managed to gain access to the game. I was half expecting Sun & Moon to get leaked at some stage, but I would have never thought it to be 11 days before the official release. I guess it is to be expected at this stage, but I'll admit I feel bad for Game Freak right now.

how did he managed to get game early anyways?

Except it is illegal. The last time a store broke a Pokémon game's street date they got into some serious legal issues.

He didn't say that I saw, but most stores in the USA already have the game because they receive it early to insure they have it at launch but legally they aren't aloud to sell them. More then likely he owns some small town game store or knows someone who does or played more for someone to risk selling it to him early. I remember back when my Wal-Mart didn't care about this (small town) and I got to play Gold and Silver 3 days before release.

Anyway if you don't like leaks don't look at them. It is illegal to post them but sadly it almost happens with every big name game. Nintendo is probably upset but they probably knew it would happen. I don't mind people posting leaks but I hate when people put them in YouTube thumbnails or post without spoiling or warning they are doing so because now I sadly have seen something's I didn't want to see.

Also true I'm sure they are doing everything in there power to find the store that broke the law in gave it to the leaker, also they are looking for who ever uploaded the way to play the digital release early. I do feel bad for everyone who made the game possible today because it can't be a good day for them.

LyokoGirl5000 November 8th, 2016 4:03 PM

I agree that it's difficult to avoid spoilers. That said, it's pretty easy to avoid if you try to avoid places where spoilers are common.

strawberry November 8th, 2016 4:19 PM

i actually kind of understand where you're coming from... i wanted the game to be unspoiled too, but honestly my expectations weren't that high. this isn't anything new for fans, and the game isn't at all ruined.

it sucks and all, but it's not a huge deal. if we're gonna feel sorry for anyone then it should really be gamefreak.

Attribule November 8th, 2016 4:26 PM

Yeah! Let's kill em!

Terumi-kantoku November 8th, 2016 4:27 PM

Ugh, indeed. Honestly, can´t a person wait just 10 days? I mean, everyone is waiting for months!

"So don´t look at them, duh." Easier said than done... You can´t visit lots of your fave sites without being spoiled and people thinking they are right for playing before everyone.

I don´t mind being spoiled with types, names and location names, but some people are going far enough to reveal the Ultra Beasts secrets. Geez...

Mawa November 8th, 2016 4:43 PM

I know we don't have the same facebook, but I don't see any leaks except here (when they are a section we can avoid if we don't want to) and if I really surch for them online.

Personally I love leaks so it doesn't mind me, really.

tokyodrift November 8th, 2016 5:04 PM

As someone who's trying to avoid the leaks, I'm not finding it incredibly difficult to avoid them. Even at that point, I don't know any place that has actually leaked game data. The leaks are happening earlier then I had expected. But I really don't know what you expected to be frank leaks are completely inevitable.

DarkDon43 November 8th, 2016 5:45 PM

Meh they should have leaked this info like 3 days before the game comes out not almost a week before ugh.... Avoiding the nasty spoilers though...

CidHazard November 8th, 2016 6:13 PM

I just got spoiled last night... Thank you facebook friends *sigh* damn dataminers...

Main problem for me with all these leaks are the Poketubers jumping in and throwing all the freaking information without regard to those ... My poor sub box T_T

PingPongCirculate November 8th, 2016 6:14 PM

Its not surprising. Honestly its more troublesome trying to avoid the leaks running around than not. Ive seen some major spoilers already regarding story and the starters, but for the sake of keeping spoilers hidden, Im keeping my opinion of what Ive seen to myself.

What I will say however regarding the leaked info is that personally it hasnt lessened my enjoyment of what's to come. I don't mind seeing that info when it comes my way, although now I am trying to hold off from researching any news about the game until the 18th. I can sympathize with those that are trying hard not to look at any leaks and are getting upset. Not alot of people are making a conscientious effort keeping leaked info under spoiler tags, whether its videos or fanart.

Don't forget all the punks that put them into their Avatars and signatures! Gah! Look away! I never deal with spoilers to well. Especially Pokémon. What? You want to see the entire game before actually playing it? The same rings true for movies.

Spoilers done right:
Spoiler:

Spoilers done wrong:
Spoiler:

Amiright? I think people don't know the thrill of discovery these days.

Starry Windy November 9th, 2016 2:35 AM

Personally, I don't mind having the leaks unveiled since I can be prepared to put some good teams while I'm at it. However, I'm also concerned with some who don't want to see the leaks no matter what, since leaks are not meant for everyone, especially those who wanted a fresh start without something spilling the beans. Not to mention that avoiding spoilers is kinda hard if it comes to high-acclaimed games like Pokémon.

So... if you don't mind spoilers, it's okay as long as you don't ruin the surprise for everyone else (or put it on spoiler corner so others who wanted a fresh start can avoid it). And if you don't want to see spoilers, do your best to avoid it until the release date, mmkay?

pryce10 November 9th, 2016 2:46 AM

for me I am fine with leaks of pokemon/moves/Stats etc... I TRY to avoid story related stuff much as possible.

They might find the store that broke the law but they can't catch the one who uploaded the way to play the digital release early if said person has stayed anonymous.

Usage of AR is also illegal, so why are people still using it?

Tbh, despite the spam, I even have to dig in hard enough for my lazy self to find out more. How hard is it to avoid sites like this if you hate spoilers. Serebii for one, will not be reporting the major datamining. Just visit that and uh, Facebook, seriously? Your Facebook friends post about Pokemon leaks all day long, really?

The worst thing is that you don't even need to be subscribed to any Poketubers to be bombarded by the leaks, I am only subscribed to music channels yet I keep seeing spoilers from SM on thumbnails on my recommended videos and dashboard, it's really annoying when you just want to find certain song but you get leak videos left and right.

And not just YT, i was just casually scrolling through FB and I found by mistake a huge story spoiler just because a friend shared it, I didn't want to know that information at all...

Lunar November 9th, 2016 11:51 AM

On my YouTube homepage there was a 10 hour gameplay video of Sun and Moon, jesus christ.

Mobile Tsk November 9th, 2016 11:53 AM

No one is forcing you to view leaked information. Virtually every article and video with leaked info is conspicuously marked "LEAKED!!"

I mean the guy who uploaded the seed to play the predownloaded game. Almost always when uploading you find some kind of digital foot print that can be tracked. I am not gonna pretend like I know how you get out of leaving your IP address on the internet but unless he was an advanced tech guy he probably left something for them to trace.

The Evil Mewtwo November 9th, 2016 6:48 PM

Some people make Fakemons for Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon but when the game is released, they are proven wrong.

WingsofBliss November 9th, 2016 10:15 PM

I think the people who keep saying "well don't look if you don't want to be spoiled" really need to realize a couple things in regards to YouTube; thumbnails of the videos on their own can be huge spoilers, and YouTube automatically recommends videos for you by using your web history and IP address, even if you clear your web browser history. This is the very reason that I have completely and utterly avoided YouTube at all costs as soon as crap hit the fan, because the leaks will randomly show up in your recommendations if you've had a history of watching anything Pokémon related no matter what.

Snorl.ax November 10th, 2016 1:30 AM

No matter what happens, just get ur copy of that legally. That's the right attitude making game developers' effort worthwhile.

Sabrewulf238 November 10th, 2016 4:13 AM

I've seen stuff popping up in thumbnails of Youtube videos. I haven't seen anything major yet but I'm just trying to stay away from Pokemon related places most of the time. (at the very least I feel I can trust Pokemon forums not to have anything spoilerific in thread titles)

The thing is I kinda have to look at Youtube for a certain reason, so I've taken to holding books over the suggestion bar and maximizing videos as soon as possible. :P

I do have a question though. (and I'm asking here because it's related to the spoilers) I was wondering if anyone has a list of old Pokemon that are available in the post-game? (you could send me a PM about it rather than posting the link here)

Lusamine November 10th, 2016 5:50 AM

I don't mind the leaks so much. I like exploring the region and playing the game. I've never played Pokemon for the story - it's never been standout - and if I know what new Pokemon there are I can plan my team in advance. You have to search deliberately for things like story spoilers etc, so I've never found it hard to avoid what I might not want to see.

Exactly! And like many people are saying, our Youtube front pages are being bombarded with leaked game thumbnails... It just happened to me now. I even tried to flag it, but no use at all. I just picked a random video and chose "I´m not interested in this channel." This is the best I could do... Uuugh! This is the worst, to avoid lots of sites we use everyday because of cheaters.

Stokesma November 10th, 2016 9:31 PM

As I mentioned in another thread, I am against leaks in general as the game should be experienced with no spoiled information beforehand. Games, like movies, tv shows, and books, are things that made to be experienced freshly. For example, if you are a huge Harry Potter fan, I'm sure you wouldn't have wanted to be spoiled on things that happened in the final book.

Therefore, a part of me is angry to see people making videos or writing articles about the leaked info. You may not mind the leaks but there are tons of people who do not want to see them, people who want to experience the games with new, fresh eyes.
At the same time, another part of me is pained to see the hard work of many designers and writers be carelessly and disrespectfully publicized before the official release date. This wasn't in their plan so why are some people not taking their thoughts and effort in mind? Would you want something you created to be spoiled days before it was supposed to be officially known?

Mannam2012 November 11th, 2016 5:52 AM

I couldn't agree more, I understand for the info and pics getting leaked, it happens, I don't approve of it, but I don't mind it. But the fact that someone uploaded the full game and people are uploading livestreams and gameplays BEFORE RELEASE everywhere is just plain disrespectful and mean spirited towards the creators.
I honestly don't know what went through these people's head, these leaks could very well harm the sells of the game or even the worldwide release of future games.

Rengoku November 11th, 2016 6:56 AM

Again, be it whether they are legal or not, be it whether you like it or not, game leaks always happen.

Still the same ol' advise-- Avoid the internet (Particularly YouTube, and sites related to what you are so particular about) if you can't accept leaks.

We are not the one whom are spilling the beans, and we are in no stand or obligation to stop people from posting leaks, and have no stand on whether posting leaks are right or wrong. If the company is so mindful of these, then they will take action on the leakers themselves. No use whining like a baby on the forum at all, sad to say.

Karous November 11th, 2016 10:20 AM

FYI the leaks helped me pick the version I wanted. I didn't preorder since I was undecided until now. I would've been upset to say the least had I gone with my original plan of buying Sun and missed out on the Pokemon I wanted. They can serve a very useful purpose for people who don't have the game yet.
