2 regions

we've had 2 sets of games with 2 regions: FRLG with Kanto + Sevii Islands (if they count) and HGSS with Johto + Kanto. I reallllly like these games because exploring awesome areas is one of the biggest reasons I play Pokémon, and this gives you a ton more of areas to venture through.

Did you like the multiple region games? How did you find their level curves?

I really like them and think they should make their next ones have 2 regions. Although the key is to make it different enough that it doesn't just feel like the same thing. They should make a super Pokemon game where you just go through all the regions lol

I love having 2 regions, but at the same time I'm kinda glad they've only restricted it to 2 games. I think by having 2 regions for every game (or every other) would make the formula feel less special. Having said that though, I wouldn't mind having another game that has us travelling between 2 regions since we haven't had that for almost 7 years now.

I would rather not, as much as I liked Soulsilver. One of the glaring errors with it was a broken level curve, that made grinding near impossible. If you get stuck on a gym, it's gonna take you so much longer to grind to the proper levels then you need. The Sevii islands were a bit better at this, but there were still some inconsistencies, and the Sevii islands really didn't have much of a final boss that you needed to grind for anyways.

Honestly I think they're the best thing ever, playing through Kanto again in Crystal and then in HGSS was amazing and really gave me an incentive to play the games after the E4, which I think some of the other Pokemon games have been lacking. I also really enjoyed the Sevii Islands and spent a lot of time exploring them, even if it was annoying having to catch 60 Pokemon to get there -_-

Have to explore past gen regions like in HGSS is sure breathtaking and can be frustrated too because level wasn't just right and monotonous griding is required and good luck with gym because it much harder than johtoes. Sevii is alright and only gets other player's attention is MewTwo after that what else you do there, HGSS you can rematch any gym leaders whenever they got time.

2 Regions is the best Idea they've had!!!

I've only experienced via Gold (Never got that far on my fire red)... and I loved it.

I can't say for HG/SS as of yet on the level curve--- but i enjoy a good grind... take me back to being that 6 year old with a level 50 Charizard after collecting my 3rd badge on Red... simply because I tried everything to 1. get back into the S.S Anne port (after the ship sailed) to get to Mew under the truck (Rumor at school went around for weeks!), and 2. Get that Snorlax to move (rumours such as: 'Use a pokeball on it', 'find a super awakening in the grass and use it on snorlax...', and also I had no clue that I had to go back on myself to progress until my older cousin told me :D

the whole Island concept in S/M is great, I love travelling to new areas, not just walking through routes.

Aslong as it has great significance I'd like to travel to other regions in future games but would prefer to get a new pokemon for the region (lvl 5) and can't access your older pokemon from the other region until you've defeated this regions elite 4 and champion... would make the game so much more interesting ?

That feels a lot more smoother and more natural than pairing a newer region with a much older region unless they had some lore connected with each other or through some other factors.

Although I love having two regions, I definitely agree, going back to Kanto after Johto just felt right, they were placed directly next to each other and I think just throwing in a random region kinda spoils it a bit. Actually thinking about it, I'd love to see Johto in 3D...
