Tales of Legendia
I have no clue how long it's been announced, nor do I care, but Tales of Legendia is set to be released on the PS2 in Winter 2006! (Yeah, that's pretty far away, XD)
First of all, no, it isn't a sequel to Tales of Symphonia, and second of all... I want it darnit, XD Anywho, the character designs seem to be somewhat interesting, but the artwork... meh, XD http://www.namco.com/games/talesoflegendia Here's the info I got from that page: * Battle Huge Enemies Like Never Before. The depth you'd expect from an epic RPG, combined with real-time battles that feel more like a fighting game. * X-LiMBS Battle System. Battle huge monsters with fighting-game-like controls with the X-LiMBS (Crossover Linear Motion Battle System) battle system. * Fantastic 3D graphics. A stunning, fully 3D setting that has a unique look perfectly suited to the game. * Uniquely Designed Characters. A unique cast of characters designed by internationally renowned artist Kazuto Nakazawa, acclaimed for his amazing animation sequences in Kill Bill: Vol. |
I loved Tales of Symphonia so if this is anything like, I'll be looking to get it on PS3 if it's backwards compatible. But if PS3 is backwards compatible, why would they release a game for PS2 like months after PS3's release? o_0. I don't know whatever. I'll be getting this one on mah new PS3.

I have seen some reports of these game it seems it will be better than tales of symphonia in gameplay. last year they told me it will be the game before tales of symphonia (mithos game).

it'll have a tough challenge if it wants to beat TOS - that was an awesome game. looks pretty good, though, from the screenshots. haven't heard much about it, though. been kinda quiet - o well, with e3 tommarrow, i'm sure we'll hear more.

(fyi, just due to the amount of programming required for these games, the coding takes a lot of time obviously as well as the graphical components, and while the PS2 could run sloppily written code just due to how it optimized gameplay, the PS3 Cell runs on a different logic circuit system, and code must be strictly written to a set pattern, so developers are going to take a lot longer to write game code than before. They're estimating 2 years or more for even the simplist of games for the next gen consoles) As for the game itself... no comment right now, the screens look like they've taken some of ToS's cellshading styles into consideration... ~DS |
*raises eyebrow at screenshots* o_O Save for the first one, they all look the same only with a different background, lol. The backgrounds do look impressive, though. Much more detailed than those in TOS and just... smoother. Looks like the characters are even more chibified on-screen than in TOS, which I figured rather hard to do, lol. It's rather hard to tell since none of the screens are very close up, so I could be wrong. Eh...
I'm sure I'll get it, but I hope more information comes out soon. *is sifting around the Namco's Japanese site to see if there's any more info* :O |
...Whoa. *ish drooling* That looks so awesome... I'm in love~! <333
;_; Too bad it's only for Playstation 2~ |
